"He wore a cloak, attacked with kendo combined with extremely high speed. I can't say I know his strength, but he was fast, and he claimed it was only 20% speed." he replied. |

I would fight him myself, but now I can not. You need not know the reasoning, nor shall I enlighten you. Alas, I know of none who can fight him evenly in this age. His defense is nearly undefeatable, and any lax in one's own defense when fighting in close range means death. He is undeniably fast, quite possibly faster than I. The only man I knew who could come close... might as well be dead."
OOC: making this up as I go XD don't remember any of the ideas I'd come up with for this RP. I do remember Kenji's fighting style, but that's about it XD I realise that for the sake of RPing, there's no way I could have my two characters fight each other, so someone else is going to have to fight Kenji. That was probably the plan originally, but it's been so long, i forget ^^; |

"And, if I were to venture a guess," he muttered inaudibly, "I'd say that person was you..." He shook his head and spoke so Kaze would hear. "And why is that?" he asked, expecting an answer he may not receive. OOC:this is just his guess, that u would come close as the hitokiri you no longer are. |

Nenshoukaze turned to look at this person before him. He raised an eyebrow, curious about what this man could mean. While he hadn't realized the other truths his own words could provide, Nenshoukaze had not meant it in that way. Yes, it was true that perhaps his old self had the strength to destroy this man. However, his old self was not even "his old self," it was no more. Killing was no longer a pleasure to him, who once slaughtered more than a dozen as a morning warm-ip -- in fact, just drawing an opponent's blood was slow torture. Though he fought with sharpened weapons, he aimed to tire the enemy quickly, forcing them to defeat themselves, instead of aiming to kill or even simply to injure. No, he was no longer any sort of adversary for anyone. For him to fight not only brought himself dishonor, but he feared it would also dishonor his opponent. "I'm sorry my friend," Nenshoukaze said mounfully. "But I am not worthy to wield these swords of mine. I could not hope to claim to be anyone's opponent. No, the man I speak of could never be said to have existed, even before he disappeared. He was... the man with no name. "Ghost is what they called him; he was somewhat of a ninja, whose stealth and speed was unmatched -- hence, the nickname. Others called him Hawkeye, for his skills with a bow were unmatched. In his later days, he fashioned arrows out of raw twigs -- not even straight twigs, in order to give any would-be opponents a chance." Nenshoukaze stopped speaking, looking up at the sky, as if expecting an arrow shot from this man's bow might come flying down at him for speaking about him. "But his where-abouts are no longer known, I am afraid." OOC: bah, couldn't figure out how to end it... so it just ends there :P |

"I see." he said. "You...are not worthy? Or did you just become afraid that you would kill to many without thought...?" He turned his head at an angle, almost smiling. "Hitokiri Zannkimaru?" he said softly. OOC:he's heard of the silvery streaked hair and red eyes of the hitokiri, and made the connection after so long. if it doesnt' work, i'll fix it.

Kenshin had the nickname "battousai," so i figure he should have one too :p
Nenshoukaze raised an eyebrow, turning his gaze away from his current companions to look up at the blue sky. He hefted the long slender bag and rested it upon his shoulder. He seemed to be in a state of deep thought or remenscence. His free hand came up to his chin, making it obvious that he was thinking back to some time in the past as his eyes closed. He stood silent for a few moments before he began to speak again, though his eyes remained closed. "Zannkimaru?" Nenshoukaze said at last. "I have not heard that name in a while; indeed many years it seems. Perhaps your words may cary truth, but it remains true that as I am now I would probably lose to such as this man you speak of." He paused for a moment, opening his eyes. It was beginning to get darker. "Come, we should get to a more comfortable place to speak." Kaze motioned for the two to follow him to the hotel. |
