Jean looked positively livid, growing red in the face, "You are incredibly rude when drunk. Thank GOD I don't have to put up with this all the time. Now shuttup and behave!" When he had calmed down enough to look normal, he spoke to Nenshoukaze- "<That sounds interesting! You were taken in by a master, and he taught you his techniques?>" He wrote stuff down. "<Any chance that you would know of a 'Blade of Red Fate'? Supposed to be cursed.>" He smiled and thought about how Lori had struggled when he had told her the real reason for the trip- her reply was something like You Bastard I Thought This Was A Vacation. |

"My god..." he muttered. He was going to have to say something eventually, but he'd hope he would be later than sooner. "Never fight a swordsmaster when you're both drunk." he said sagely, looking at the ceiling. "You'll just wind up with a headache and a few minor stab wounds." He grinned as he lowered his gaze from the ceiling, taking another sip of his drink. |

Jean had had quite enough, and beaned her over the head with her own revolver. Strangely enough, she didn't stop him. A large, red lump rose between Lori's eyes, and she fell over, knocked out cold. Or was she? Jean bent over her to inspect his handiwork- "<Yup. She's sleeping.>" Jean shook his head in disbelief, and then dragged Lori next to him, so she could sleep in a sitting position. "<I have no clue what you just said means,>" Jean said, puzzled, now as sober as his wife was asleep. "<...Care to explain to a wimpy gaijin?>" |

He simply shook his head to her words as they seethed through the thin walls of the bar. His dark eyes turned to look amongst the samurai that stood beside him, adorned in the same fashion as he was, plus a helmet that concealed a majority of his face. He knew of what business must be done, but wanted to know every little detail. He cleared his throat to gain the attention of the man that walked beside him in the dusty roads they traversed, and to avail, the man did. "Where are the Crimson Tengu's located...?" Amatsu asked, turning his head to look back amongst the many peasants, with his now squinted optics, that walked about the street. His black cloak and red bandana gracefully fluttering behind his moving form; his hand still clenched his weapon at his side, parallel to the ground.
The samurai beside him turned his head in the direction of Amatsu, but didn't make eye contact with him, for they remained looking ahead. His voice was lighter than Amatsu's, and muffled by the mask that was apart of his headwear. "They are camped about one mile away from the Takagawa and Ichii gates. If our traps are sucessful, we may delay them a day, and hopefully lessen their numbers. If not, they'll be here by tonight." The young samurai then turned his head straight, a child had come running in his direction, but was still far down the road. Only to be taken note of in the samurai's sight. "Make sure the platoon is guarding Takagawa gate. Make sure everyman is accounted for and ready for battle." Amatsu said in his well-spoken, yet rustic tone. He, too, taking notice of the child, who was now coming closer to them. A small smirk crossed his face as he looked over to his comrade and continued, "I shall guard Ichii on my own." The samurai jumped slightly to what he thought was foolishness that just poured from the mouth of his superior ex officio. "Huh!? Amatsu Koji, have you gone crazy?" The man then leaned forward and threw out his arms in a beckoning pose as they continued to traverse down the road. "Why just you!?" The samurai nearly shouted, but lowered his volume as he noticed a distasting sparkle in Amatsu's ambitious eyes. "Believe me, I'll do fine." His tone was solid and sharp, he was sure of what he spoke of. He lowered his head and closed his eyes to the thoughts that now played in his mind to what may be another glorious victory. "Just make sure someone locks the gate behind me, ne?" The samurai stiffled in his words, muttering jibberish to himself as he scurried to find another way to convince Amatsu to resign his words. He stood straight, letting out a heave as he gave a nod. "Yes sir..." He spoke in a whisper, then turned again to look at Amatsu's unscathed form, as he seemed to continue in his pace unafflicted by his underling's words. "You sure you won't reconsider?" Amatsu then turned and smiled, for the child that was coming at them had bumped daringly into the samurai beside him. With a small chuckle, he told the soldier, "You got other things to consider, such as how you're going to feed your family with no money." To this, Amatsu nodded his head to one side, gesturing toward the child who now seemed to be in a dead sprint; already having traversed a good two hundred meters of the road. The younger samurai checked his side to see that his money pouch was gone, then quickly turned and sprinted after the child with as much energy as he could spare. Not to mention the many obscenities he was yelling as he chased down the boy. "How in the world do some of these men make it pass training...?" The dark Amatsu thought to himself as he soon found himself at Ichii gate. He stood there for a moment as he became lost in thought once more, but not of the idiots that pass the training necessary to become a Black Scar. It was of the reasonings behind the Crimson Tengu's, and why they wanted him dead. He soon found himself thinking of the warriors he met in the bar, allowing a small grin to streak across his facial complexions, for he knew if any of the enemies were to get through, the warriors would probably be more than capable of handling a few of them on their own. One of the lesser soldiers (not so great in rank to be known as a swordsman) was sitting in the grassy patch beside the gate and road. His head rose to see Amatsu there, and with the upmost of his respect, he gave a low bow. The man was clothed in simple trousers and a sleeveless shirt. The only protection amongst his body consisted of wooden bracers that guarded his forearms, and leggings of the same material. "Amatsu?" The soldier said in a tone to gain his attention, awaiting the samurai's command. "Lock the gate behind me, help get everyone to Takagawa gate." Amatsu spoke, his rustic vocalization seemingly broke into a much clearer and demanding tone. Even if the enemy were not to show, the Black Scar must at least protect the citizens of the village. With a smooth fluorish of his hand, he gestured for the guard to do as he asked. The guard rose from his current stature, and rushed to the gate. After having shoved the heavy wooden gate into it's proper closed position, he reinforced the gate with two logs that cris-crossed over the inside of it.The soldier slapped his hands together, a small cloud of dust flew from his palms as he soon then ran to grab whatever soldiers and samurai he could. Amatsu eyes streaked upward to see if the look-out tower had it's soldiers. Just as he expected, a soldier had glanced back down at the black samurai and gave a nod to notify him if anything turns up. Amatsu grinned to himself, he knew what was to happen shortly, he could feel it in the innards of his gut. He always got that feeling, that rush, before a battle was upon him. The sun had finally vanished over the horizon, and the moon exposed it's pale lumination amongst the town. Amatsu had remained motionless as this amount of time flew past him, sword in hand. His head then snapped up, turned to one side, as he heard something out in the woods. At first it was very silent, but it soon grew. It was the sound of feet, marching amongst the dirt and leafy grounds of the woods and road. 'It would seem that our traps did not work; much rather have angered them though.' Amatsu thought to himself with a small smirk displayed. The man in the tower was able to see a smoke-trail within the woods, obviously the Crimson Tengu's were in a hurry, and began to strike the metal plate that hung within the space he sat in with a hammer. A shrill and sharp PING sound emitted from the two metals everytime they came into contact, the sound would spread through the vilage, and the peasants within began to run to their huts. Excess soldiers who weren't rounded-up by Amatsu's messengers ran to Ichii gate, only to find it boarded up, and would turn and head for Takagawa. The sound of the marching had now became loud enough that every ear inside the town could hear it, many of the peasants quivered and soldiers became shaky, but Amatsu stood tall as ever; too proud to allow himself to fall to the hands of these mere thugs that ran amuck. The brink of battle was at hand...[/color:63fc3525d6] |

Yuuki heard something, after a break in laughter from the conversation. A pinging metal sound, over and over. An alarm? He rose from his seat, checking for his sword, and walked to the entrance. Standing right outside the door, he saw screaming townfolk running away from a certain area...the gate? He leaned his head back inside. "Kaze, Ushio, there's something going down..." he said, trying to discern some other clue to what the hell was going on. "See if you can't wake up the French Revolver lady and lets go." "What- what- what- what is happening?" Asked Jean. "Everyone is silent and I hear an alarm..." "Don't stutter, fool," said Lori, not even waking up. She slapped him and got back to sawing logs. "Diable..." said Jean. "Good luck waking this one up, I'm gonna just sit here and...and..." Soon he was asleep as well, glasses crooked and drooling. But all was not lost! Lori woke up slowly as if coming from the depths of the sea. "Metal. Guh, I smell metal..." She rolled over and up, not opening her eyes because she was sensitive to the light after a while asleep. She felt her way down a hall and to the privy. Lori threw up, and walked out, wiping her mouth. "Dammit you were..." She started to say to Jean, but realized he was asleep. "Ah, well, baise I feel bad. Whajjuwant?" She leaned to one side and the other, but the room was still spinning... OOC:CURSES! No, literally...

Amatsu had known what happened without even glancing, for he could hear what he could not see in the darkness; two bows were strung back, and fired. The arrows flew through the wooded area and pierced the chest of the guard. The man then fell back and off the platform of the tower, luckily dead before hitting the ground. The black samurai shook his head, a breeze of night wind caused his red bandana to flail to one side of his head, then glanced up again with a smirk adorning his complexion. For standing in front of him was a small band of men. All adorned in red kimonos, and a tattoo of a feather amongst their forehead, they unsheathed their various katanas and clubs; ready for the battle.
A moment of eerie silence befell them all, until Amatsu let out a 'Hmph' and unsheathed his long No-Dachi blade. The metallic surface of his weapon seemed to glow an mystic blue in the darkness of the night. In his raspy voice, he taunted the group before him, "Well, well, well... What have we here?" Taking the long handle of his sword into both hands, he allowed the tip of his weapon to lightly graze the ground behind him as he stood in his stance; digging his feet into the ground as he readied himself for his attack. "Looks like a bunch of Geishas got a hold of some weaponry and decided to throw a little party." Seemingly a lame insult, it was enough to rupture the rage within the minds of some of the men. "ATTACK!!" A man shouted within the midst of the group, and like a flood, the red men rushed in a dead sprint at the black samurai, their weapons raised and came down within the range of their target. Amatsu's eyes narrowed as this small band of men came at him, but before he took the time to count how many he could sight, he threw out his arms in a swift horizontal strike. The long reach the blade had enabled him to cut through the first few men with ease at their stomachs; only to slice them in two and allow their already crimson figures to spew out fluid of the same color. Going with the flow of his attack, he spun around only to allow another strike of the same velocity, only rising his blade more to meet at what was left of the men's necks. Having been decapitated, their body's fell back, spraying vast amounts of blood onto dirt path. 'I wonder where the rest are?' Amatsu thought to himself, grasping his cloak with one hand to bring to the long blades stained surface; wiping away the warm, red fluid that streaked across it's cold steel. 'Something doesn't seem right.' Though it seemed obvious to him that something may be wrong, the black samurai remained still. He soon heard a rustle in the bushes, followed by a few more men to jump out and attack at him. With a simple leap back, Amatsu avoided their clumsy offense, and spun himself around. Bringing out his foot to contact with one of the men's faces, causing the man to fall back into his group. His companions caught him, and helped the man to his feet. Three of them, includingng with the 'had-fallen' man, quickly rushed at the samurai for another attack. Their weapons meeting his own as Amatsu came into a deadlock with all three of them with his own. The others stood back, waiting for the outcome as they cheered for their fellow combatants to win.[/color:273688c9b2] |

Ushio, less than impressed with Amatsu's performance, had left the bar to lean upon a nearby house. "Haa...?" she mused, watching as he seemingly became intoxicated by the fight. The Oosakan merely sighed, folding her arms over her exposed cleavage, the cool night air slowly causing the sleeves of her kimono to billow in the breeze. "Ahou ka..?" she asked to no one in particular, pushing herself slowly off of the building as she took a few steps closer to the scene. As the woman came closer to the army, a few of the soldiers suddenly lost their interest in fighting and directed their attention to the woman. Ushio waved flirtatiously as she pulled her kimono open slightly, both to allure them away from the army, and to cool herself off. "Ooi, baka... Yamete hou ga ii kamo? Ne?" she shouted at Amatsu, cupping her hands around her mouth. OOC: "Ooh.."; "Is he an idiot..?"; "Heey, idiot. Maybe it's a good idea to stop, yes?" |

[color=green:218c3df7fb]While in the deadlock, Amatsu glanced over to see the girl in the distance. His facial complexions became troubled in their display as he pushed his legs against the ground, throwing off the men from himself. Using the oppurtunity of their imbalance, he quickly spun himself about again to swipe them off their feet with his leg. It didn't help that one of the thug's clubs had fallen back onto his own face during this attack. That man having been knocked out, the other two scurried to their feet and retreated back into the woods. Amatsu eye's watched them run off, then looked to see that the others had ran off towards Ushio. He shouted out to the woman with his strong vocals, like a lion's roar, but not commanding in it's tone, "Idiot? Looks like you have some company too!" He stood motionless in the night, waiting to finally see what this woman could dish out. For he wondered of her skill in armed combat inside the tavern, as well as the others.[/color:218c3df7fb] |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Ushio, seemingly ignoring the two men that were running after her, slowly raised her left arm to grip the katana, sheathe and all, at her waist. Gradually lifting it from it's spot in her obi, she lowered her eyelids, merely gazing lazily at the two men who were, at this point, merely feet away from her. "Kizu ga agetakunaikara..." she began, turning away slightly as she brought the sword to her side. In one quick motion, the woman brought the sword to swing in the air before the soldiers, a slight 'boom' resounding from the slash. A burst of air pounded into the stomachs of the two samurai, sending them flying back a few feet onto their rear ends. They coughed up a bit of blood, and, holding their stomachs, turned tail and ran back into the woods, just as the others had.
Running a delicate hand through her lavender hair, Ushio sighed, putting the katana back in it's rightful place on her waist. Cupping her hands around her mouth once more, Ushio shouted out to the two samurai cheerfully: "Sugi katana wo tsukaimasu yo!" With a grin, she turned to glance at Amatsu. "Dou?" OOC:"I don't want to hurt you, so..."; "Nex ttime I'll use my sword!"; "How was that?" |

"<Dammit!>" She swore as she raised her gun, painfully slowly. It weighed a ton to her now. Could she make it before the attacker stabbed someone? "<One shot, one kill. One shot, one kill...>" Lori pulled out the right revolver with her left hand, her good hand. She aimed shakily and pulled the trigger. The gun spat fire and roared. The man, miraculously, fell down, shot through the left eye. "<I was aiming for the heart, but that works too...>" She wobbled off to the bushes to go throw up again. |

With a small nod of his head, he stopped beside her, and spoke out in a friendly tone, ascribing to her attack, "Quite impressive." His raspy vocals emitted, rich in it's definition of praise as he soon looked back at the gate, seeing it was unlocked and opened. 'Hmm, it seems a few got through.'
"We should head back inside, we have a rat to take care of." He said this in a reluctant and sharp spoken vocalization. He then quickly took to his pace, and dashed through the gate. Inside Kyoto, a few of the Crimson Tengu's were running about; bringing menace to the city and it's people. He knew in the back of his mind that the gatesman was behind this.[/color:165cbda0f1] |

One of them, however, had decided to cause a little extra havoc, heading for what appeared to be a restaurant. He saw a man outside simply standing there, and the thug charged at him. He didn't see the katana until it was too late.
Yuuki had whipped his own katana out of it's sheath in a sort of modified iai, slamming the attacker's sword far to one side. Before the thug could compensate, Yuuki slammed the pommel of his sword down on the moron's head. "Baka..." he muttered, pushing the unconcious man to the ground. "We'll talk to you later." He set off for the second gate, where he saw at least 10 men rushing towards the guards whose focus was on the horde outside the gate... OOC:suxorz... |

She looked around at the chaos. Even normal citizens were having no trouble mowing the soldiers down like grass that had grown too high. "<Lackeys,>" she murmured. Lori went over to the gate, and noticed that there was no trauma, or stress. The troublemakers had not invaded, they had been let in! "<Hoo boy, this stinks of corruption,>" Lori remarked. She paused to shoot the kneecap of an invader that had come 20 meters too close for comfort. "<Anyone else care to offer a theory?>" |
