"You are not weak." he said to her. "There are only two types of people in this world that are truly weak. Cowards, and bullies. Those men you saw were weak. As for repayment, there is no need. I do what is right. Not for any reward. I do it because it is the moral thing to do. I could not live with myself if I did not help. It is the way I live. Now...Goodbye. Perhaps we shall meet again some time." He turned back to Kyoto. |

After sitting by the river until dusk, she began to grow hungry. A strong grumble in her stomach caused her to walk quickly to the next town to seek nourishment.
She clopped into the nearest restraunt called the 'Odaiba'. Pushing aside the curtains of the entrance she walked in, taking a seat at a table and ordering a small meal. Quietly she sipped her tea and at her pork buns, glancing about at the people in the room. Suddenly, two men started arguing and tossing plates, she held up her sword just in time to keep a plate from impailing her in the face. "Wow.. This looks bad.." |

Upon reaching Kyoto, Tsuki surveyed the area with his deep blood red eyes. It was a normal town, all the hustle and bustle of one too. However, two figures stood out. One was wearing as sword at his waist. The other was carrying a cloth bag of some sort. But no matter. He would see about them later. Right now, he was hungry. The nearest place was one called the Odaiba.
Kaguske saw another stranger enter. This man was also carrying a sword. But his eyes unnerved him. The blood red tint of his eyes was creepy. "Uh...Hold on for a minute..." he said to the man he had gone up to a minute ago. He followed the stranger into the resteraunt. Hmm... he thought. Wonder what'll happen now. Tsuki appeared to have entered at just the wrong moment. Two men were fighting at a table. Ignoring this, he sat down at the nearest table. He looked at the entryway. Another man came in. It was the one he had seen outside. He decided to find out what this man wanted. "Oi!" he called to him. "You! Sit here, would you?" He indicated a seat opposite himself. Kaguske sat across from the stranger, staring at him. "Is there something you want from me?" Tsuki asked him softly. "Not particularly. Though I wonder why you carry a blade so openly." Kaguske replied. Tsuki snorted. "The same could be said for yourself, you know." he shot back. A plate fragment came flying towards them. Tsuki ducked it, glaring at the table where the two men were fighting. God, this is just not my day, is it? he thought. First I get defeated by someone I've never even heard of, I can't reap justice on a coward, and NOW some idiots are fighting when I want to eat. Jesus. |

Pushing her self up, she took her katana in her hand and walked out, having eaten only a portion of her pork bun. On her way out, a large bowl hit her in the back of the head, causing her to fall down into the dirt. "Agh.. This just isn't my day..." |

The person it belonged to was called Nenshoukaze, a man of average height, and a hair that was black with strange streaks of a silvery color placed at random. This hair was lengthy, tied back in a manner that appeared rushed and careless. The ends of the hair were soft and jagged, as though cut only offhandedly by a sharp knife or sword. His left arm was behind his back, holding a long, slender cloth bag, its contents hidden by the opaqueness of their container. His eyes, though a strange blood red, were warm and inviting, and the faint smile upon his face accented this.
"Are you alright, miss?" Nenshoukaze asks, his voice pleasant and full of life. |

After brushing the dust off her black haori and white hakama, she readjusted her sword on her waist and smiled, bowing to him. "Thanks for helping me up." After looking at him for a few more minutes, she realized that she'd seen him earlier. "H-hey.. Didn't you fight that guy that saved me from all those sickos? You're so strong... You must be at a really high level, ne?" She smiled and winked, the wind blowing her charcoal hair to the side a bit. |

His confusion was obvious and existed for good reasons. He didn't know what Masoto was talking about. And then, it hit him: could it be Kenji? When younger, they were always told about how alike they looked, though they were in no way twins. Nenshoukaze shook off this thought like he might shake off a clump of snow which had recently fallen upon his head.
"Ah, you must be confusing me for someone else, m'lady," he says politely. He continues with a soft smile upon his face, showing no kind of desire, but instead a soft admiration, perhaps simply of her existance. "Though I must admit, I wouldn't mind saving such a pretty woman from such a gruesome-sounding fate." |

Masoto never had been good around men, even if she had trained with them for so many years at her camp. Recieving compliments, rather than insults, was a new concept to her. "B-but.. anyways, sorry for thinking you were someone else. I was half concious after all..." She laughed and scratched the back of her head nervously, looking at the snow beginning to fall. "Uh oh.." Quickly, she pulled a wallet from the breast area of her haori, counting the amount of yen in her wallet. "Gosh.. I better find someplace to stay. You know of any good places here that are cheap?" She smiled and scratched the back of her head; it was begginging to become a habit. |

"Well," he says thoughtfully. "Most of the inns that I know of are kind probably full..." He rumages through a pocket on the side of the cloth bag he carried in his left hand and pulls out a small wooden rectangle, about the size of an identification card. He flips it around in his hand for a moment, admiring the carvings on either side, then offers it to Masoto. "Here, you can use my room at the Aoiya," he says, his voice filled with a natural kind of warmness that was inherent in his speech and actions. "Don't worry about me, I can manage. Just get it back to me sometime before I die," he concludes with a wink. |

Kaguske started. "Hey!" he said. "Where are you going?" Tsuki did little more than give him a fleeting smile and say, "To see a friend." He walked over to Masoto and found her talking with the man he had seen outside. His eyes... he thought. They match with mine... He turned to Masoto. "I see you came out alright." he said, still smiling. "I told you we would see each other again." Kaguske stood up, following the other man. He found him talking to a girl, and the man he had seen earlier. "So..." he said to the man, even though his eyes still made him shiver. "Is this the first time you've been here?" |

Snapping back into reality, Masoto looked over to see the man who had saved her earlier. "Oh! H-hello. Thank you for saving me earlier, again. It's nice to see you again." She looked at the wood piece in her hand and turned back to the man again. "I.. I can't accept this without paying you.. I'd feel horrible.."

"Nonsense," he says kindly. "Go ahead, I rarely use it anyway." OOC: oO mine just died too >< and my post is lots worse than yours |

There was a moment of awkward silence.. Masoto then grew hungry; her meal had been cut short because of those stupid men in the Odaiba. Reaching into her bag at her side, she rummaged around until she pulled out a small red box with kanji that pronounced 'pocky' on it. She reached in and pulled out a long stick covered in pink. "You want one?" She smiled warmly and winked, holding the box out to him. "Oh, by the way, what's your name?" |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kaguske watched as the fight inside the resteraunt developed. Idiots. he thought. Now it becomes impossible to eat any food. He snorted. Nimbly dodging another plate, he turned to Tsuki.
"My god..." he said. "Is this place always like this?" Tsuki turned to the young man. He frowned. "Eh...I don't really know." he said. "This is the first time I've ever been in there. It just seemed so..." He trailed off. What he should have noticed when he first saw the man with a cloth bag now hit him like a ton of bricks. He looked like the man who had defeated him earlier. "Er...I hope I'm not interrupting, but..." he said, shifting his feet in the dust. "Do you happen to know a man in a cloak who looks much like yourself?" |

When will she leave, I will get what I want. Proof that I am his better he thought. He gripped the hilt of his katana in fury. He would have to wait, sadly. For fighting when it is uneeded in the prescence of a lady was against his few morals. He took a jug of sake from the side of his belt and took a swig to keep him going. He has to be patient, patience wasn't one of his virtues. |
