OOC: Oh, so it's gonna be a while until we get there? oh. Put in in hyper-drive~! *__*

"Wow, so much to soak in! But now I know I'm not crazy!" Melia scratched her second eyelid, out of nervous habit this time.
"My family would be honored if they were here," she said, clutching the amber stone suspended around her neck, "However, I feel unworthy... They die because of my cowardice."

Xenos slid out of nowhere to circle around Melia. "The real difference in those who are evil and those who are good is that you realize when you've done something wrong." He said in a stern but warm tone.

"So what you were trying to tell me was..."

"...You are not to blame! I just want you to have more compassion for fellow humans and do all you can to help. The first assignment I have for you is to train under these good people, and serve them in any way you can."

"Ro-ger THAT!" Melia saluted the still-circling shark.

"Like Falcone said, only after you become a person of good character like your ancestors will I listen to you! "
Xenos then dissapeared back to wherever he came from.

"Sheesh, so crotchety. But I guess being trapped in a statue will do that to ya."
OOC:Please note that Melia has little to no control over Xenos. He can do as he pleases.

The dragon in Akari's lap had momentarily raised its head to watch the shark, and had laid its head back down once more to return to its slumber. "Well," the Queen began, "That was interesting.

"In any case, Melia, you will grow used to the blade and its power over time, but as Falcone said, it is possible that you will never fully have complete control over it. But, as we said, they don't pick some random person; you were chosen for a reason, Melia. Doubt yourself and Xenos' judgment, and you may find yourself stripped of that power."

The Queen smiled reassuringly, patting the Amran on the shoulder. "But don't worry. It isn't in Xenos' nature to be so cruel, no worries."

OOC:IKOU! Magicdrive! XD No, jk. But I have recieved permission to speed things up a bit...

After much stalling, and attempts at more conversation, everyone dispersed separate ways to their rooms, or in Hawkes' case, the control room. He went to go get the ship moving out of the restricted zone. Next stop: the rebel base.

The engines silently thrummed to life beneath the metal floor, sending vibrations through everyone's feet and rattling the glasses in the dining hall. Akari showed Stahlflugel to an empty room, and then walked around the corner to where Melia assumed was her and Falcone's room.

Melia entered her room after a quick goodbye to the Queen, and studied it- a small bathroom area behind a blue curtain, a twin bed, and a small portal. She sat down on the bed's grey-coloured sheets and leaned against the portal, staring into open space. She was asleep before she even got a chance to lay down, dreaming of smooth green grass between her toes, and sunshine on her back.

OOC: So, there ya go. We're en route now. ;D

OOC:Hey GB, I don't wanna be the evil Admin person, but I'm afraid controlling/saying what other characters do is not permitted ^^; I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be mean or anything!

It's just that it's a form of god modding (tho you're not trying to like, pwnzorz us or anything) but it's just not permitted. I'll go along with this post for now, and suggest others to do the same, but in future posts, please try to only talk about what your char does :D

Sorry again! D:

Akari, after having shown the Amran to her rooms, sauntered down the hallway and back to where she and Falcone had slept the previous night. Knocking on the door lightly prior to her entrance, she slipped inside and closed the door, glancing over to her husband. She smiled warmly, and closed the door behind her.

"She'll develop well, that girl." she said, turning back to face Falcone as she shuffled over to him. The Queen slipped her arms around Falcone to embrace him gently. "So, what did you do for all the time you were here... while I was in captivity at that thing's castle, I mean.."

The Naga was back in flight (after some extensive repair) so Valkier was somewhat content. But his current happiness would be nothing compared to how he would feel when he finally found the last Xarians. The way he saw it, if they were on the verge of extinction then they might as well get it over with and die; life in the rest of the galaxy needed to go on.

Valkier turned from the helm. Slowly, his little cast of characters came into view. Bounty Hunters and mercenaries, the best of the best and cheaper by the dozen, stood arrayed on-deck, awaiting the emperor's words. Many of them seemed tense and extremely eager (Valkier surmised that they would probably be the first to perish on the mission). Others looked calm and confident, they were the veterans and cold-blooded killers Valkier respected. And then there were even more who...well, there was nothing Valkier could get out of them (besides the fact they were anything but human).

"Listen!" Valkier shouted suddenly. No response from the mercenaries just the average din.

Valkier rolled his eyes and slid a pistol from his coat. Without even bothering to look, Valkier shot at the first standing object he saw. Somewhere in the middle of the crowd, a mercenary exploded in a flare of blood. Silence soon pervaded the crowd.

"Killers and fighters the universe over, I have a special mission for each of you," Valkier began as he stepped upon a dais above the crowd. "Each of you has been selected for the skills and prowess you possess, all of which you will need for this mission. By now, at least some of you know about the Xaria incident and how much it has been bothering me of late. Not just me but this entire Empire. The Xarians have been trying their hardest to destroy everything my forebears have created. Order to chaos, reason to insanity, foundation to destruction. They have escaped my grasp several times already and now I can do nothing but ask for your help. He who captures or kills the Xarians will recieve the massive bounty I have just released. Of course, any who fail or, worse, betray will be dead either way."

Valkier paused in thought as eyes across the crowd began to shift warily. Valkier's own eyes narrowed under a furrowed brow.

"You can choose to aid my soldiers or each other as you please or need. But I expect the best from all of you. Now, go and do not fail me"

The king returned his beloved's embrace, rubbing his cheek against hers. Her skin was soft and warm, just as he remembered it. He mused briefly that no amount of torture or otherwise harsh treatment could dull her pure beauty. Not a heartbeat after hearing her question, Falcone leaned back and offered Akari a grin that signified he didn't need any time to think.

"While I was here?" the Xarian asked rhetorically. "Why, planning your rescue, of course." As he said this, he raised a hand to brush a stray lock of hair from his wife's face, offering her a playful wink. "And, naturally, fantasizing about you in general."

Akari chuckled and grinned, buring her face in her husband's chest. "You certainly haven't lost your sense of humor, of that I am most certain.." she said, looking up at her king with a wide smile. "Perhaps it was that small connection I had with you that kept me alive all that time." she pondered aloud, releasing her grip on Falcone to lean against the window sill, looking out through the glass to observe the black abyss of space. The queen pushed aside a few pieces of ebony hair and turned around to see her husband once more.

"What do you suppose we'll do about Valkier?" she asked, folding her arms over her chest. "It seems slightly impossible that he's given up on us. Knowing him, he's probably sent some thousands of bounty hunters after us!" the queen finished, chuckling.

Unfortunately, Akari was completely unaware of how correct she was...

Arkus Rufo entered the ship's bridge after the other bounty hunters had left. Always one to make an entrance, he strode right in and walked right up to Valkier, his blue eyes flashing mischieviously.

"Valkier, mate!" he said, smiling all the while, "I heard you'd called for a grand blowout, but..." He jerked his head towards the entry hallway that all the other mercenaries had just used to leave.

"I didn't know you'd invited me best pals along to play!" The soldiers, best of the best, elite and trained by Valkier, stood dumbfounded at this one man who so bold strode up to their emperor and addressed him as such a personal friend. They shook their heads in collective disbelief. One of the younger ones even leveled his weapon at the back of Rufo's skull, taking aim though he thought Rufo couldn't see him.

"That, mate, would be a very bad mistake on y'own part, alright?" Rufo suddenly said, not even taking his eyes off the Tiershaan ruler. The soldier, badly startled, lowered his gun and stepped backwards. The strange man then threw his cloak back over his shoulders, practically threw one of his revolvers out of it's holster, then caught it in midair and began to twirl it on one finger.

"What's the occasion for such a grand blowout, eh?" he asked, still watching Valkier carefully.

Stahlflugel woke up with a shock, but then relaxed. I'm OK...

She sighed, and looked out the window she had slept upon. There was a grease imprint left by her forehead and nose streaked upon the left side of the glass. Gross.

Melia got up, ripped the bathroom's divider curtain off the hanger, and proceeded to clean the window.
Shit, how long HAVE I been asleep? she thought, staring blankly at the irreversible damage to her bathroom's impromptu door.

Then she had an epiphany: "What day is it? What time is it? Argh, stupid space."

No suns, no moons, just the same speckled infinity over and over and over. Melia streached out her limbs, and cleaned herself so that she would look, feel, and act like a person. Yay.

Melia ventured out into the hallway to find the bridge, or wherever everyone had gone, leaning on the walls because her legs felt like limp noodles.

"Well well," Valkier grinned darkly. "I never expected you to show up. But I guess everyone has their price"

Valkier turned, jacket billowing about his knees hinting at the guns within with a glint of light. He looked first at the rustic-brand mercenary and then the soldiers, tensely awaiting the order to fire. With a flick of the wrist, he dismissed them before refocusing on the mercenary.

"You know the purpose of this mission," Valkier explained as he turned back to stride across the bridge. "The Xarians have been...quite the quarry of late. Very annoying, frankly. So, since I cannot depend on the average soldier, I have had to turn to you lot: the true hunters"

"you see, I would enjoy nothing more than tracking those Xarians myself but I have an Empire to run. Recent insurgencies on Amra, a campaign against the rebel cell on Tei'raskal, that sort of thing. That being said: do you think you can handle the task?"

Arkus' broad grin grew even broader, if that was possible. The guard who had nearly fired on him just a moment ago was still standing there, slowly leaving. He shouldn't have hesistated. Arkus stopped spinning the revolver, and, pointing it at some random location past Valkier's head, fired. The bullet ricocheted around the room, and then suddenly the reverberation stopped. The soldier was non-plussed, and then suddenly, he dropped his gun and fell dead to the floor, blood pouring from the side of his head.

"Look, mate," Arkus said, withdrawing his pistol and blowing the smoke away. "You're talking to me, Ghost. I'll get ya your Xarians." He spun his revolver once and then slid it back into it's holster. He brought his cloak back around, and then turned to leave, tipping his fedora in a sort of salute. As he neared the exit, he chuckled and looked back over one shoulder.

"Oh, mate..." he said, his grin almost like a leer, "Did you want them alive, or do I get to play with them a little?" As a Keitosian, Arkus Rufo did not like Xarians, and had pretty much rejoiced when their planet went boom. But now that two remained, he did not want any chance of Xaria starting on some new planet.

Valkier pondered the question for a moment, weighing thoughts and consequences.

"Kill them," he said. "Kill them both"

Nothing was left for the Xarian race; their time was over. Despite the fact that Valkier would be losing an object of his interest, he could not risk it. Both the Xarians were dangerous in their own right and he doubted that Akari would be doing anything for him.

Arkus gave a small chuckle. He left the room, carefully stepping over the newly dead soldier, and returned to his ship.

"The Xarians shall fall to us." came a voice in his head. It was one of malice, hissing in delight at the thought of the death of a pure race.

"Easy, mate..." Arkus said out loud. "You'll get some fun when we get to them, alright?" This seemed to calm the dark wyvern spirit, and it quieted for the time being. He sat down in the cockpit of his ship and immediately shot away from the docking bay, heading out towards where the ship claimed to have seen a tiny vessel, freeing a new captive...

OOC: i just realized something. Jeremy, valkier already had a bounty on Falcone's head the size of Teirshaa... What could you possibly (afford to) do to make people interested if they weren't already?

Oh and boots, just try to find us :P

"Valkier?" the Xarian king asked thoughfully, pausing to take a deep breath. He let this breath out slowly before he continued, saying, "Destroy him. Or at the very least convince him to give up on us. If he refuses, then we should help these people with their cause." Falcone paused, moved to the large view port in the wall and braced himself upon the sill. He looked out upon the empty expanse of space with a distant look in his eye, as though his mind were some place far off. "Of course, I doubt a man of his level of obstinance would ever simply give up. I fear we may have to destroy him and all who stand in our way, if we wish for anything resembling peace." Falcone paused again in thought, turning around so that he faced his wife once more.

"We can rebuild Xaria, with the right-sized moon," Falcone said casually. His voice had an element of excitement to it, and yet despite the enormity of his claims it sounded as though he had merely commented on the weather. "I have seen it, in dreams. The soul of Xaria is still with us, it mourns for the loss of its body. So too do the souls of our family and friends. Perhaps we cannot recreate their body -- even the Dragons could not do that -- but their souls were torn from their bodies before their time; I think we can at least give their spirits rest in nature. We need a moon, a lifeless shell of a planet, and then we can transfer Xaria's soul into it. It will take time, and more energy than even you and I combined can give. But somehow, I know its possible."

OOC: partly based on a theory I've come up with, in reguards to Xarian mental connection. I believe, much like Malkavians in Vampire: the masquerade, that Xarians have a sort of mental repository of knowledge since they are all telepathically linked. What they don't wish to share, obviously, can be kept secret easily. However, everything else can be accessed by any other Xarian at any time. They might not understand it, of course, which is why teachers were still necessary. But I think that once their bodies were destroyed, the "mental network" was sort of expanded and all the knowledge which the elders and king held became sort of "public domain." Why wouldn't it have been public before? Partly because most people wouldn't understand, and also because people could injure themselves or others with these types of powerful magic. Anyway, those are just my ideas for something down the line in the RP ^_^

OOC:More taxes are the answer. *plays villain music* XD;

Melia had several weird sensations at once. So odd, in fact, she forgot to keep hanging on to the wall. From the floor, she heard odd resonations through the metal. Amplified by... her own ears?

//We can rebuild Xaria, with the right-sized moon// She heard Falcone say. She couldn't be too sure, however, because there were other things interfering, like the ship's engine.

Melia stood up on shaky legs, to go... somewhere. "Amra has SEVEN. Maybe one's the right size...?"

It was true: Amra had seven moons, but only one sun: a large, yellow sun not unlike our Earth's, except much larger. The actual planet was near the size of Jupiter, and was mainly a huge Pangaea, with other scattered islands throughout.

Having all the countries squooshed together on one continent meant near-constant war in the past--but since Melia's ancestor, Mohammed Yasuna, and six others had decided to jointly rule ALL of Amra, things were getting better. Each century dawned brighter than the one before... until...

"Well, once things get better, I'll come before the Assembly with the proposal. Maybe they could live on Lierai, since the Sindhians would never let them have Calienthe," she laughed. "But it might be a long time until that day. I have to see Amra once again before I die, to see if I can arrange things..."

Now back to our regularly sceduled sensations. Melia sent out a wide-range ping, one that would hopefully reach past the ship, to see if anything was coming.

OOC:Discovery Channel: Amra Edition??

Melia knows that the Xarians would never ask for such a large favor, so she's taken things into her own hands.

1. Explanation of "Amplified by... her own ears?": Xenos was lending Melia power without her knowing.

2. Calienthe the Amran Moon and Calienthe-4: One's the Amran moon, and the other, an Amran spice colony. C-4 was where Melia was headed when Fierce Al died.

3. "But it might be a long time until that day. I have to see Amra once again before I die, to see if I can arrange things.": The Xarians can afford to wait until after this is all over, and there is peace, because they live for a damn long time. But Melia, however, has to tell people back home pretty soon, knowing that her lifetime is short.
