When they were safely out of the area around the Empire's flag ship, Akari breathed out of her mouth, relieved. She turned to grin at Falcone, her smile almost seeming to reply: We're still young, my love. The day we stop taking risks and having adventures is the day we become old!. The Queen squeezed his hand and rubbed her cheek against his affectionately before turning to the girl they had rescued.

"So... I'm sure you might have a few questions, mm?" she asked, smiling warmly to the newcomer.

Stahlflugel replied in a trance, still with her eyes closed, and yet not asleep.
"I've nearly suffocated, frozen my ass off, been shot at, and hit over the head. Too much excitement for one day."

Melia opened her eyes and scratched under the first eyelid with a fingernail. "But I have two more questions for you: who is that other dude in the corner? And is there anything I can do for you? ...Of course, after I recover..."

OOC:Maybe those extra shark-senses will come in handy: they can smell really well, and can detect electromagnetic pulses. ;)

The king brought his wife's graceful hand to his lips and offered it a gentle kiss before returning it to her. He smiled happily at her then turned to see how the girl they had just rescued would respond. She certainly did appear to be quite exhausted, and Falcone had no difficulty understanding why. She had just been through a lot, as she explained, and had a good reason to desire a peaceful repose.

"The "other dude" you speak of is Hawkes, or Hawkeye," said Falcone informatively, happy to answer questions for once, instead of asking them. "He's sort of become my closest living, male friend. He's stoic and hardly listens to anyone but himself, which is probably about the only reason why Klos outranks him, but is loyal and strong and dependable, not to mention absolutely everyone under his command absolutely adores him as a leader. My name is Falcone and am of little importance, but this here --" he motioned to Akari, "is my beautiful, loving, wonderful wife, without whom I would be lost. She is, rather literally, my "beautiful flower." For now, all we wish of you is to get better and get rest. If you so desire, we would greatly appreciate your help in dethroning Valkier, of course."

"Why thank you, Falcone, Hawkeye, Akari, for your hospitality and courage." Melia smiled at them.
"All I, all we can do until opportunities arise is to keep on living to meet them."

She then looked down in dismay at her clothes, and just the state of herself. "Egads," she exclaimed, "I'm so grody. Maybe I should take care of that so I don't sleep in my own filth on your nice beds."

Akari, smiling warmly as her husband described her, nodded and turned to the girl. "Well, Melia, I'll assure you that we'll do our best to help you out." At the girl's comments about her clothing, Akari laughed warmly, slowly standing up to her full height of around 5'3", and gestured towards the doorway. "Come, we'll get you changed." she said, her voice full of warmth and slight humor.

OOC:And the wheel... goes round...

As Melia followed her new friend to the bathroom she whistled a silly little tune, her favorite:
"The color of infinity
Inside an empty glass
I'm squinting my eye
And turning off and on and on
and off the light

It's for this experimental film
Which nobody knows about and which
I'm still figuring out what's going to go
In my experimental film."

She continued whistling as she walked. "Haha, wait, I don't think I'll fit into your clothes, Akari-mara." She gestured with her hands, "I'm 5 or 6 inches taller than you..."

Melia and Akari walked into the bathroom, made of mostly metal. What had once probably been shiny chrome had deteriorated to rust, and the wallpaper had faded to a snotty grey colour. Akari made a bashful face and shrugged, as if to say, Well, it's all we have...

"Hey, better than the mosquito-infested swamps I would have bathed in on Calienthe-4. This is clean and critter-free. Now if you excuse me..." she went over to a rack, also- surprise!- chrome, and got a slightly stained white towel. Melia went up to a shower stall and said, "THERE IS A GOD. OR MAYBE THERE ARE SEVERAL. BUT THEY LIKE ME!!!"

OOC:-mara = -chan, if you were wondering. and also, i think -sani = -sama in sindhian

Akari chuckled. "Well, be that as it may, we'll just have to make do, now won't we?" The Xarian Queen helped the girl with her shower, preparing the towels and her clothes as the Amran clensed herself. Over the steady 'shh' of the shower, Akari could be heared humming softly. It was a slightly cheerful tune; one that could instill joy and yet perhaps sorrow. Which emotion was meant to be felt by the notes was difficult to discern. The Queen walked back to the wardrobe outside of the bathroom and picked out what seemed like a robe of Asian origin. She shrugged slightly, continuing to hum as she stepped back into the bathroom, placing the article of clothing onto a hook near the shower curtain.

"I found something for you to wear.. it isn't much, but none of these clothes are mine, really. I mean, my entire wardrobe was blasted to smitherines!" she said, struggling to sound cheerful as she realized the sad truth of her statement. "They don't fit me very well either, but we'll just, as I said, have to make do." As she finished speaking, Akari took a seat on the closed toilet lid, putting her chin in her hands as she continued to hum lightly.

"Thank you," Stahlflugel said, reaching around the shower door to the hook where the towel, and robe, sat. She rummaged around wildly, but Akari soon caught on and handed her both.

Melia stuck her head out, "Sorry, I should have just asked." She towel-dried, and then put on the robe.
Stepping out, she had to gasp. Not only was it made of a good quality silk material, it fit her almost perfectly. Being a merchant made her anal about quality.

"I seem to have lost weight," Stahlflugel said pleasantly. She then studied the pattern a bit closer in the light by the vanity: maroon patterned with all different kinds of yellowish-orange sharks.

"This makes me wonder about whoever made these robes," Melia said with wonder. "Are there any more in the chest?"

OOC:Hmm, interesting. Basically, Stahlflugel is wondering if anyone else beside the Xarians knew about the Mythical Animal Trios. And prepared for them. 'T evar. Trying to put spice in a bland post.

Akari glanced at the robes and blinked once in interest, and then shrugged, losing that interest as quickly as it had come. "Probably not, actually." she said, matter-of-factly. Placing her right hand upon her hip, and waving her left in the air slightly, she continued, "I'm not sure if you were even aware of the existance of us Xarians before word of our planet's demise made the local newspapers. We very seldom ever spoke with outsiders, and I don't believe that we ever left our own planet, actually." The queen exited the bathroom and headed towards the door to the hallway. "Only those who have the blades in their possession know of it, or, will come to know of them soon enough." she finished, stepping into the hallway.

"I'm sure the design is just a coincidence. After all, these were just a random assortment of clothing that they had readily available, after all." The Queen waited for a moment, continuing down the hall, expecting the Amran to follow. "Come, we need to talk with Hawkes and Falcone." she said, as she saw her husband at the end of the hallway. Akari waved and smiled as she approached him.

Surprised by Akari's tartness, and shortness with her, Melia stiffened. However, she eased up when she stopped to think-

She is right you know. I'm just asking stupid questions becuse I'm tired. Ignore the last five minutes. My mind is wandering and feels like cotton candy. D'arghh...

Stahlflugel replied with a blank look, one hand raised, "Yeah, lezzgo Ka-mara."

She followed the queen to a small room that looked like it was meant for breifing. It had some star-maps and charts on the wall, old but still good.
Falcone, Hawkes, and several others were seated in what looked to be lawn chairs, but they looked like someone had dipped them in acid: mutilated and blob-like.

Whatever reason they were meeting here, it must be serious, Thougth Melia, looking around. Or, uh... dammit. TOTAL BRAIN MELTDOWN!!

OOC:Whatever, just trying to get something, anything happening on LW after nearly 3 days...

Please guys!!! Post!! Something!! Anything!!

Falcone, who had been waiting outside a small meeting room, looked up happily when he saw his wife approaching. He smiled in return when she arrived, placing his hand upon her cheek for a second before moving it down to her shoulder, and motioning for her and Melia to go inside. When they had entered, he did so himself, closing the door behind him. He moved quickly to pull out Akari's seat for her and help her into it, before sitting down next to her.

"Well, Melia," Falcone said, breaking the silence that had decended upon the room when they had all taken their seats. "Now that you are cleaned up and (hopefully) feel a bit better, do you have any more questions to ask, perhaps about who we are, as Xarians or as members of the Rebellion, or that powerful new weapon you have acquired?"

When the echoes came back, Valkier was surprised to see the basic clarity. Now there were 12 ghost signals instead of the original fourteen; very interesting. But where from? Valkier punched in several symbols and a map came ove rthe display. It was three dimensional, tracking the stellar system, then zooming in on its current orbits and finally focusing on a basic area.

Valkier gazed at the displayed system with dark intent. The last signal was coming from somewhere nearby the Xaria system, where the drifting chunks of that wretched planet now circled the sun like an orbital graveyard. There should have been an entire fleet there watching the system from different posts. How could they have possibly missed any ships passing by the area?

Valkier stood to stretch his back and started to walk down the hangar, tracking a new train of thought. If anything could have slipped by those ships it would have to be that damned stealth, which meant that the Xarians were nearby. Valkier smiled, he had found them in a sense, or he at least had a place to start...

Melia said plaintively, "Oh, thank you, I do feel better. Well, I know a bit about you Xarians and the Rebels, but if you have more to tell me, I'd like to hear it. Also, learning more about this weapon would be nice. Considering that I'll most likely be using it in the near future."

Stahlflugel felt a faint ping, like sonar from far away. Of course not knowing it was Valkier's tracking device, she shook it off.
It was probably nothing...

Akari glanced down at the floor, and rubbed her face slightly before she looked up at the girl. "Well.. it's one of the mystical blades, you see. And, mind you, very few people manage to come into posession of them, so you're quite lucky.. They're quite picky. Basically..." she began, holding her left arm out. As silver bolts of electricity began to form about her hand, she looked up to the girl, speaking matter-of-factly: "The creatures themselves live on a different plane from that of the one on which we exist. You seem to be capable of summoning it fine now..." she trailed off. At this point, a small, silver dragon had began to snake out of seemingly nowhere, and slithered to rest upon the Queen's hand. "It'll take a while to be able to effectively use it; it's hard to get used to."

Akari turned to her husband and smiled, sitting the dragon in her lap where it curled up. "Falcone, you know more about it than I do. After all, your feat of summoning Zenjirou was so small accomplishment.."

Falcone nodded, as he accepted the baton from his wife and turned to Melia. "Their origin is somewhat of a long story, but I'll see if I can simplify it for you. The mystical blades were made ages and ages ago -- and in Xarian years, an age is a long time. You see, while to a human, as I understand, twenty years is about the age when someone becomes an adult, for Xarians, it is closer to two or three thousand years. At any rate, the blade which you can now summon is and was the wisest of all shark creatures on our planet. At one time, it along with the eagles and dragons and various other magical creatures were the wisest of all beings on our planet. They passed on their knowledge to us Xarians, teaching us of magic, mathematics, history, sciences, and so on. Even the language we speak natively originates from the wise creatures off our planet. However, there came a time when the reign of the creatures had to end. Not even the wise elders of our planet knew why, or at least they couldn't explain it to the rest of us.

"Anyhow, the dragons -- the wisest of all creatures -- made the decision that the three wisest of each of the wisest and most powerful creatures would bind their souls to statues built in their image, and thus it was so. These statues became forms in which the creatures could live in this world for periods of time and lend their strength and wisdom if needed. In this way, they could be safe and live on in another dimension, until such time as they are needed. The "owners," and I use that term lightly, as none of us never thought that we owned a blade, were chosen by the creatures themselves amongst the wisest of Xaria. Generally speaking, the one who could summon the blade passed down through the family, and thus evolved the ruling kings and nobles.

"Now," Falcone said after a short pause, so that the history lesson might be digested for a moment. "You probably find yourself wondering "why do I have one then, since I'm not a Xarian?" I spoke with Zenjirou about this last night as a rested, and the explanation he gave is this: The previous family lines who "owned" the blades have been completely destroyed, and since there are no more Xarians to bond with, the creatures have searched throughout the universe for appropriate "owners," who have a history of wisdom, honesty, strength of character, and strenght of mind. Now, as for the blade itself as a weapon, it is much more useful than merely a sword -- although I find that it is very effective as such. However, I am unsure if non-Xarians will be able to fully harness the Xarian magics and techniques, so I suppose sometime in the near future we will have to hold classes and experiments. Perhaps this was a bit more than a "simple" explanation, but that's as good as I can do!"

OOC: PS: just so you know, Xaria isn't close to the rebel base thing at all...
