"Daaaaayum," Melia drawled, eyes following the action on the grassy plain. She bit a fingernail, anxious to see that her friends were all right. Even though she knew they were more than capable, she still worried.
Xenos popped out of nowhere. "He knows the odds are against him, so it will be interesting to find out how he intends to win."
OOC:Hmmm, what will happen? *shrug*

Akari didn't even flinch as she saw the two bullets shoot from the barrel of the shotgun. Two., she said to herself, beginning to count the amount of bullets that the Keitosian used before he had to reload again. Before she countered, the Queen gripped the hilt of her sword firmly and planted her feet, waiting until the last split second to react. With serene grace and deft movements, she spun the blade of energy and incinerated the bullet. She grinned, returning to her previous stance as she glanced over at her husband.

"Really, is that the best you can do, Keitosian? For the supposed opposite of the Xarian race, you are quite a disgrace.", she taunted, a smirk of mocking malice upon her lips.

"There are only two reasons why I assembled a strike team," explained Valkier as both emperor and general traversed the scenic route towards the docks. "The Xarians were a grand race in their limited time, that much I understand about them.

"I also know that their time is up. It's over. That's the nature of things. But before they are ripped from this life I want something from them..."

Valkier paused to breath, lingering on the note; the qualities of this mission were slightly incredible.

"First, I need you to make sure that the twins get onto the enemy ship, hack its computer core, download all information with special attention to any maps or secret info and deliver them back to the Naga without a hitch. This part of the mission is crucial and requires stealth; not too hard for the twins, even though they'll need a guard.

"The other facet of this task is a personal interest. Those weapons the Xarians carry. They are... unique. Something about those things tells me that they are not exactly inanimate. Whatever the case, I want you do this for me"

Suddenly, Valkier stopped in his tracks, circled around Elaina to come to a gliding standstill in front of her. From the folds of his coat, the emperor produced a grey blade, straight-edged but with several spines running up and down one side. A spined sword-breaker. Valkier handed the hilt to the general.

"This will be dangerous but I have every confidence in your abilities," Valkier smiled. "All you need to do is catch a Xarian blade in this sword and it will process the blueprints for me to create my own copy. Understood?" Valkier asked sternly.

Elaina almost bumped into Valkier, since he stopped so suddenly, but she was able to stop in time. “I will see to it personally that the twins reach the computer core, Majesty,” she assured Valkier as she fingered the strange blade. The craftsmanship was amazing, like a piece of art, and the general enjoyed good art. “And then I’ll hunt for a Xarian sword for you. It shouldn’t be hard. After all, there’s bound to be a conflict between the Xarians and that Keitosian ruffian. That should provide the distraction the twins and I need.”

“However, I admit that I have a few questions, Majesty,” Elaina said with a small smile as she tested the spined sword-breaker’s weight and balance. It was perfect. The craftsmanship was amazing, like a piece of art, and the general enjoyed good art. “Just for some clarification. How is this lovely blade supposed capture another sword?”

"Well, the blade itself is based upon an old design. Its the ancient house Takhamina blade, meant to catch swords between the 'teeth' and break them with a simple twist. Even though I doubt it will be able to break those Xarian weapons, it can still catch them"

"Once this blade catches a Xarian sword it will run all manner of energy and data extraction through it: DNA, radiation...anything and everything that can be read will be copied. Later, we can use it to create weapons like those the Xarians have for use against other, greater foes.

"Its made from concentrated madness stone to ensure its durability against Xarian attack but it doesn't seem to work as an instrument of pain..." Valkier explained. ending with a slight frown.

In truth, the weapon was hand-crafted from the old Takhamina tome designs. Valkier had spent days putting it together, honing it, making sure that it would do exactly as he had designed it. Of course, it made a poor weapon against the Xarians but that was not the point.

As for the twins, once they did their download, he could have every little bit deciphered. Maps were what he was looking for in particular, maps of rebel bases and convoy routes. That's why he was gathering the fleet; once he had the proper locations, he would move his massive armada from base to base, eradicating all resistance.

This was the plan: only known by himself and General Glaive; Elaina would have to be told later on, but not now.

“Don’t look so melancholy about it, Majesty,” Elaina’s tone was slightly teasing, and her blue eyes glowed in the bright lights. “You’ll get the Xarians soon enough.”

The general had already guessed that Valkier was going to use the information that the twins stole to hunt down the rebel bases. The fact that he gathered an armada told her that he was going to launch a campaign very soon. It would probably start as soon as the strike team had completed their missions. However, he hadn’t told her anything about it which meant that she wasn’t supposed to know. Therefore, she kept her accusations to herself, and sighed mentally, knowing that any chance of receiving leave in the near future was incredibly slim.

“Well, then,” Elaina said. “Thank you for the sword, Majesty. I am honored. Now, unless there’s something else you need to tell me, I think we better start moving and join the rest of the team.”

Stahlflugel began to wonder where Hawkes had gone. For some reason, she got this creepy feeling that she shouldn't be in the ship alone. She set off down the hallways, calling his name.
"I could have sworn he came in the ship. Oh well..."
She yelled down several hallways before going back to sit in the Captain's chair: "If you hear me, come to the wheelhouse... thing. Whatever this room's called."
She sat down in the chair, a shiver running up her spine.
"It's probably nothing..."

OOC: w00t it's late/early! :D here goes a really crappy post~

Falcone almost exactly mirrored his wife, spinning his weapon about to deflect the shotgun pellets flying at him. His eyes seemed to almost lose focus as they concentrated on the tiny particles, counting each one. He was quickly able to identify an approximate number of pellets in each shotgun shell, and opened his mind to Akari so that she might also know. You keeping track of how many shots he has per clip, love? he asked telepathically. The Xarian was actually starting to get excited about the battle. It had been quite literally many decades -- perhaps even centuries -- since he and his wife had fought side by side. In fact, it had been at least that amount of time since he'd fought side by side with anyone, outside of rehearsing forms.

"Really dear, must you provoke the poor little child?" the king asked with a grin upon his face, "He's surely scared enough to be without his mommy as it is!"

Arkus grinned and fired again and again. He knew that the Xarians would deflect each shot, but each shot he took, he moved one step closer. Melseme hissed and spat a sludge of black acid at the Xarian queen. Arkus kept smiling even after he ran out of shots, for then he simply dropped the shotgun and Melseme flew into his hand. The wyvern solidified into a statue and a beam of energy, black as night shot from its mouth.

"Oh look, Uncle," he said, a chuckle playing at his lips, "The poor little child has a little game he wants to play. It's called 'Lights Out!'" With that, he reached into his own innate powers as a Keitosian of royal descent and conjured a suffocating darkness in the region around the three of them that would surely favor him. No noise came from within, no light could pierce it, and already Arkus was compensating with his sense of perception.

"I bet that'd be what you predicted, Xenos," Stahlflugel said upon looking out the window again. "But what in all three Hells is that?"
'Sensory deprivation bubble of some sort, it seems. Interesting that he can conjure one out of nowhere.'
"I wish I could help, but all I would do is get in the way..."
'Be patient, and accept your lot in life. Do you think I like being strongest of the weakest either?'
"Yeah, well," Stahlflugel sighed, blowing a piece of hair out of her face. It was increasingly hard to wtch this battle.
OOC:PS. Where the heck is Hawkes?? Just wondering. XD;

Valkier frowned slightly and flicked his hand in the air. "Fine, fine. Go on and make sure the team knows what they're doing" he said to Elaina.

Turning about on one heel, Valkier made his lonely way back to the bridge. In one hand, he spun a revolver; gunslinger style was his forte. With his other hand, he typed a message to the helm: Priority 1- Make the jump, now!

Valkier sent the message and then braced himself against a wall. He had been through many a jump on large vessels such as the Naga. Bridging the distance in small ships had little inertial shock to it. Jumping in the Naga, however, was quite a shock

"Very well, Majesty," Elaina bowed her head, pivoted on her heel, and began to walk briskly down the hall. As she walked, she looped the string from the sword's hilt around her belt. Suddenly the bell rang through the halls, warning that the Naga was about to make the jump. She looked up from her workand turned to see Valkier bracing himself against a wall. One hand gripped the sword and the other desperately tried to find a hand hold before the Naga jumped.

"N-" she began to say, 'Now? You must be joking!' However, she never got the chance to say the rest because the Naga lurched forward. Elaina felt as though her arm was being ripped from its socket. She squeezed her eyes shut, and she could feel her fingers slipping. The sudden stop came to quite a shock, and she was flung backwards and into the emperor.

It was one of Valkier's stranger moments whne he turned around just in time to see Elaina hurtling backwards towards him. He had had enough time to push himself against the inertial shock and force his arms just so he could catch the flying General. Now, two masses accelerated in a sub-space jump, one immobile and the other at a frightening velocity, will, upon collision, create a big ruckus. That being said. Valkier barely managed to catch Elaina by the waste before being toppled over by the sheer force of the jump

Call it luck or call it intuition, the jump was just finished and Valkier was lying, pinned on his back by his own General. Half surprised and half amused, the amusement left his mind when he noticed how close the Sword-Breaker was to his face, embedded in the floor of the deck.

"Well, General, you've yet to report to the docks,"

OOC:BOHAHAHAHAA!! I am soo mean to Elaina. :P

This is awkward, Elaina thought as she tried to catch her breath, which is difficult when one’s face is buried in another’s coat. She felt someone’s arms around her waist, and she knew she was on top of someone. The general dreaded opening her eyes, and hoped with all her might she was wrong and that it was not who she thought it was. However, when she heard the Valkier’s voice there could not have been any doubt in her mind.

The Fates must have decided to make life for me miserable today. First, the ”˜incident’ bedroom, and now… Her eyes fluttered open and they met his eyes for an instant before she hastily got off of him and stood up. She cleared her throat and then her confident, sapphire eyes met his surprised steel eyes once more.

“My sincerest apologies, Majesty. I was on my way to the docks,” Elaina explained calmly as she offered him a hand to help him stand, which was an attempt to spare her last shred of dignity. She prayed that she was not blushing again; she did not want him thinking that she had gone soft with all this incessant blushing. “But I was suddenly thrown off course. I assure you it won’t happen again.” She cleared her throat softly, and looked sincerely apologetic.

“I didn’t hurt you did I?” Her eyes lowered slightly, and her voice was slightly softer and full of concern. “Are you all right?”

As Akari dodged the disgusting slime from the creature at the Keitosian's side, she looked up to realize the sudden difficulty she had breathing. She and the other two men were suddenly trapped inside an abyss, and the Queen felt as if each breath she took grew shorter and shorter. With her free hand she grasped her throat slightly, strugling to suck as much air into her lungs as possible; it felt almost as if here lungs were shrinking. She glanced over to her husband, sweat slowly trickling down her brow.

"Are you ok, Falcone?", she asked, her voice slightly hoarse. She kept watch on the Keitosian all the while in case he made any sudden movements.
