Arkus lifted his revolvers away from the other's heads. Pulling his fingers away from the triggers, he spun them around a few times and returned them to their holsters. Melseme hissed and spat from his shoulder.

"While, indeed, I would enjoy nothing better than destroying your arrogant race once and for all," Arkus said calmly, "Since my employer clearly does not trust me enough to kill you, we shall continue later. I do not believe this pleases Melseme, however, who longs to taste the blood of dragons again." The drake of evil hissed again, and spat at the sword the Xarian wielded. "You see, Xarian King, Valkier is simply my employer, as one day the Rebel army might be. Truly, however, the fact that your race still exists might simply prevent such an alliance from ever occuring." He turned to look at the King of a once proud race, his same carefree smile evident once more.

"For now, we can put that aside, for my life is worth more than my hatred." he said, though his anger at having to help his quarry nearly took the smile from his face.

"I shall take your ship in tow to a secluded little planet where we can discuss our differences in a most profound arguement. I suspected my little friend here will like to do most of the talking." With that, he walked past the two females, picked up his illusion generator, and then, having no care to kill his prey without an actual challenge, went to the transporter room instead of simply blasting another hole in the hull. He had a few choice words for his gracious employer when he next saw him. He suspected his drake might have a few more words to add to that conversation as well.

Valkier slid onto the bridge as casually as ever. But what he walked in on was slightly remarkable. The squad seemed a bit shaken (except Leo who was never much of anything). And there was the little General staring down a creature nearly three times her size and overwhelmed with pride.

"My,My," Valkier chuckled. "I see you all have met Miss Storming with a warm and respectful reception?" he said. His eyes flickered towards the twins at the word "respect".

"Elaina," Valkier said sternly. "Would you please unhand the juggernaut? I don't want him harmed before we reach the Xarians"

Sagittarius bowed low, and the twins saluted their Emperor while Leo merely turned toward the Emperor and gave him a brief nod. Elaina turned her head toward Valkier, and she gazed at him for a moment, and then gave a small shrug. "Of course, Majesty," she said softly. Her eyes glared into the eyes of the muscle man last time before she let go of Taurus' collar, and allowed him to stand up straight. "I apologize for the scene."

Taurus reluctantly returned to his seat, (he wanted to snap the little general in half) and avoided looking at Elaina by staring at the ceiling or out the window. The general gave an inward sigh of relief, but it was short lived.

You’re too rash, child, said a small voice in her mind. That monster could eat you and still have room for more! Think before you act!

I knew what I was doing, Yankeirou, she silently retorted to the Silver Eagle’s comment. The situation was under control. You don’t need to get your feathers ruffled over it. However, she knew she was lucky the Emperor came in when he did, otherwise he could have been short a general. She had caught the giant off guard, but her ferocity would have only intimidated him so long before he realized he was, indeed, bigger and stronger.

“It’s been a while, Majesty,” said one Gemini.

“It’s great to be back,” finished the other.

“Heck,” retorted the first. “It’s great to be allowed back.” The twins then laughed in unison. Elaina found it a little creepy, but intriguing at the same time, and a corner of her mouth twitched a little. Sagittarius laughed out loud, Taurus grunted something, and Leo rolled his eyes.

“Shall we get on with business?” asked Elaina, as she shot a glare at the twins which shut them up instantly. “We’ll be nearing the Xarian’s party and that wretched bounty hunter soon, and we need to make sure everyone knows what they’re doing if we wish to succeed.”

Xarians? echoed Yankeirou. He seemed anxious all of a sudden, but the young general decided to ignore it.

OOC:Jeremy, you can use Gemini, Sagittarius,Taurus and Leo. Their your minions afterall. ^^

Arkus had transported to his ship and moved to the controls, setting course to the nearby planet of which he spoke. Melseme was livid.

"You should have crushed them!" it hissed in his ear.

"Easy, mate, easy." Arkus said, sitting in the pilot seat and pressing a few buttons on the control console. "We'll have them, and besides, my diminutive little friend, I value my life above their deaths, and with Valkier's armada approaching, I don't think we would have had time to escape. So, away we go!" With that, he pushed a lever forward and the ship shot away with the Xarian's ship in tow...

"Yes," Valkier said, falling into his own thoughts. "This going to be a complex endeavor"

"Complex? What as in difficult?" One of the Gemini pipped. "Sir, have you even looked at the team you assembled so carefully? We're two geniuses and three killers; we'll be fine"

The others nodded and said agreement, even Leo shrugged somewhat.

"I see..." Valkier smiled with a sincerely reptilian quality. "Do you know whose ship you will infiltrating? Do you know why I'm actually sending you onto the ship? Are you two even vaguely familiar with Xarians?"

The gemini looked at each other with child-like grimaces perfectly mirrored between them. The other three stayed attentive and unphased.

"They're dangerous, especially on solid ground. In ranged combat, even I could kill them all but the plans I have for them (or whatever's left of them) are special and need the utmost resolve to complete."

Valkier strode past the mercenaries and reached into his coat pocket. He then pulled his hand out and rattled the contents like dice.

"Do you know what these are?" Valkier asked inquiringly.

"Um, rocks?" the gemini said in unison.

"Yes and no. The Xarian know what these are, all too well" Valkier hissed proudly. "Elaina, you're familiar with my Xarian research, I think. Can you tell me what these are and what joyful properties they posses?"

The sight would have seemed strange to an outsider, one ship towing a smaller one to a small, nearly uninhabited planet. There was a small city on the surface, but it was far away from the clearing where the ships landed. It was several square miles in area, with a small lake around one edge but otherwise only the grass grew on the field. Arkus leaped from his ship to the field a dozen feet below. He held a large rectangular box in one hand, and Melseme hissed in expectation. The sun gleamed down from above, bright light flooding the field. He dropped the box next to his feet.

"Perfect." Arkus said, shifting his body to feel the little gift he had taken from his employer stashed in his cloak. The human and the Amran were to die first, he would then truly enjoy killing his lighter kin.

"Come on, mate, let's get this show on the road!" he yelled at the second ship.

***

Hawkes narrowed his eyes at the mocking call.

"Let's get him." he said simply. He would enjoy the fight more if he took a few teeth from the cocky smile of the Keitosian mercenary.

Elaina felt her stomach tie up in knots. She hated that thing, and she hated what it was used for. Personally, she felt that torture was a tool for interrogation, and even then it should be regulated. General Storming would rather just blow them all up again. However, her icy eyes lit up with depraved excitement, and her mouth twisted into a mirthless smirk.

"Those are Madness Stones, gentlemen," Elaina sounded like a child talking a about a toy she truly desired. He's made more of them, she observed silently. "They attack the mind and hurl the person into nothing short of..." She laughed icily. "'A Living Hell.' I've seen one of the bravest men with possibly the strongest mind in the universe writhe in the filth, and weep like a child. It would have destroyed a lesser mind." Her eyes locked with Taurus', who instanly realized that the General had insulted his (limited) intellect.

"They don't look all that impressive to me," the muscle man sneered. Saggittarius cocked his head and looked at them with great interest, the twins were in awe, and even Leo appeared interested at this point.

"If I-" Elaina began to advance on Taurus, but she was interrupted.

"This is Tracker Red-1 to bridge, over," said a voice from the monitor. Elaina whipped around and stared at the Tracker.

"You have reached the bridge, Red-1," she replied. Her eyes narrowed dangerously. "Do you have bad news?"

"The bounty hunter has towed away the Xarians," he answered. Elaina gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. If he lost them, I swear, I will- The tracker must have sensed he was endanger because he added quikly, "I have their new coordinates. I'm sending them to you now."

Elaina checked the screen, stood up and turned to Valkier. "The bounty hunter has landed on an almost deserted rock of a planet nearby. As much as I love to boast of your accomplishments, I believe we need to get going, Your Majesty."

Akari frowned as she heard the Keitosian's taunting. Crossing her arms of her chest, she contemplated silently for a moment. "Falcone, I don't think this is a good idea. There's no telling what he's going to do, and he may go as far as to bring Melia and Hawkes into this as well. I will not let them die because of who we are. I think that they should stay in the ship, and we should fight Arkus."

"Rit rar," Melia sighed. "I suppose we would only get in the way... I will stay out of this, if that is what you wish."
She might be reluctant, but Melia was always ready to listen to reason.
She hugged Akari, and then Falcone. "Kick him where the sun don't shine for me," she said, grinning widely. "Good luck."

Melia walked back to the ship, and looked out the front windows. Her smile faded as she stared at the others. "Don't die on me, you're all I have right now."

OOC:I mean, come on, what else could poor Melia do? XD; She's got to stay alive to get back to her planet and help peoples. And also, she wouldn't affect anything by dying...

LOL. Maybe she'll get to kick some Zodiac butt when they come around. XD;

Falcone nodded vaguely. While he didn't want to see anyone get hurt, he knew Hawkes could handle himself -- he'd survived thusfar, hadn't he? He was unsure about Melia, but either way the fact was that neither had been properly trained in Xarian sword-fighting. And, if they intended to use the mystical blades to their fullest extent, proper training was a must. Though his mother would kill herself if she saw her son giving fencing lessons to an outsider -- and him not even breaking ten thousand years, the standard age requirement for professors -- he knew it was his duty.

The young king glanced to his friend hesitantly, but knew his wife was probably right. "Hawkes, dear friend," he said gravely. "Stay safe, and I'm sure you will know what to do if you see us getting in trouble." Falcone then looked to the Keitosian and narrowed his eyes. "I don't expect we will, however." Zenjirou promptly flew into the air, spiraling down Falcone's arm as a warm-up, then solidifying in his hand. Almost instantly, a blade of silvery energy poured from the dragon's mouth. The Xarian then snapped straight, legs together and his left side facing his opponent. His right arm, holding the blade, moved away from his body in an arcing circle, while his left mirrored this. His left elbow then bent and the hand moved in front of his chest, forming a fist with his index and middle fingers facing vertically. At the same time, his right arm continued its circular path, to end up straight and at a slight angle from his body. Though he had a bad feeling about what surprise awaited in the box, he had no intention of allowing his mind to wander.

"Are you ready, Akari?" asked Falcone seriously. Then, unexpectedly, he cracked a small smile. "Or perhaps you've forgotten all of your fencing in favor of beating me with a stick, as you were so fond of all those years ago?"

OOC: yes, I know he's 2000+ years old, but that's young by Xarian standards X3

The Queen grinned, sauntering up from behind her husband to stand at his side. "How foolish of you to think my skills have dwindled. If anything, chasing you about the palace gardens with a stick improved my skills, beloved." Akari stretched out her left arm, and Kenjirou slithered down it in a flash, quickly solidifying into a solid silver hilt. A blade of blue-tinted energy blasted forth from the dragon's mouth, quickly forming into a thin blade of pulsating energy. The queen stood firm, planting her feet a few feet apart, bending her knees only slightly. Her left arm she held out straight in front of her, turning her body so that her side faced the Keitosian, bending her right arm so that it formed a 90-degree angle behind her.

"I've always been ready, mairei.", she finally replied, turning to give her husband a warm smile. Akari sensed that something was amiss, but she couldn't put her finger on it. She shrugged it off, and figured that they would find out soon enough...

Valkier slipped the produced stone back into the black of his sleeve. Stage magic, such easy stuff to do but always to his liking.

"Yes, yes," Valkier said, batting at the air with one hand as if dismissing a meaningless statement. "I heard. We can jump the gap of space from here. In the meantime, I hope all of you realize how these stones work; they are an unmatched advantage in this fight."

Valkier turned aside long enough to activate another screen: an audio recorder. "Shift the fleet position to align with the coordinates given by tracker Red-1. Once the coordinates are set, make an immediate jump and keep in formation. Make no movements and don't fire a single shot unless I give the word"

Valkier dispatched the screen with a flick of the wrist and turned back to his awaiting team. "All of you get down to the docks. You're landing in style" then, brushing close to the general. "There is something that needs doing. Something that requires extreme secrecy. Walk with me"

Melia sat down in the captain's chair and spun in circles. "Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored," she sang, picking at the seam. "Bored, bo..."
She stopped, and looked out the window. "Well I do believe they've begun to fight. Or maybe not. Can't really tell."

She wished she had something to bang on, a weapon to fix, or something. It felt weird having absolutely nothing to do.

Elaina's sapphire euyes gazed at Valkier questioningly for a moment as the strike team quickly left the room. Taurus through a glare over his shoulder at Elaina, which the general chose to ignore. Her heart fluttered with the excitement that a battle might be near, and she longed to be with her team on the docks. However, she knew there would be more than enough time for that.

Curious to know what all the secrecy was about, she followed Valkier. Their steps echoed in the empty metallic hallway sounded unusally loud. After walking beside him for a moment, she quietly cleared her throat.

"What needs to be done, Majesty?" she asked softly. "What is all the secrecy about?"

Arkus smiled as he saw that only the Xarians had jumped ship. He dropped the box next to him in the dirt, one foot ready to trigger the device. The dark wyvern on his shoulder hissed again in anticipation.

"Right then, mate." Arkus said, the grin never leaving his face. "Shall we dance?" he asked. Not even waiting for an answer, he slapped his foot down on a pedal that had appeared out of the side of the box, and upon hitting it, a 12 gauge shotgun flew into the air and came to the peak of its flight around where his hand hung by his side. Lightening quick, he snatched the gun, pumped it, and fired twice, once at both Xarians.
