Nenji spun around to face where Kaguske's voice came from. Right in front of Kaguske was a solid sheet of glass. However, in an instant it shattered, the glass shards swirling about madly in the storm. Nenji moved as quick as he could, bolting towards the tallest shape -- the best that even his Zenchigan could make out, with the ever-thickening sand. He grabbed Koshi, then reached out to grab the closest body to him by the collar. He pulled them in front of him and raced as far away as he could, searching for a spot safe from the glass. Ahead, there was a small but sudden drop in the ground, over which the sand flew straight over. This would be the best spot. Nenji leaps over the small mound above the drop, releasing his hold on the two passengers, and flying over them. He digs his feet into the ground, then rushes back under the relative saftey of the alcove. His vision now much clearer, he lifts his forhead protector up a bit, peeking at the two he rescued. Kaguske was the one I missed. He lowered the protector again, then glanced over the ridge of the alcove. But as he stood up, a sharp pain flew down his spine, and he dropped to his knees -- shards of glass were lodged in his back Nenshoukaze sliced at one of Takumi's attackers, succeeding only in giving them a small cut on the arm. But it was enough for the moment. The expert ninja sheathed his sword again, performed a few quick hands seals, then grabbed Takumi. They fall to the ground, then bounced straight back up as they hit the ground. At the peak of the ascent, Nenshoukaze flung Takumi as hard as he could straight upwards, out of reach of the raging sandstorm. "You should be able to get your bearings from up there!" he calls as he falls back into the flurry of sand. As he free-fell, he was horrified as he saw the wall of glass Kaguske had just caused to create shatter into millions of pieces. As he watched, Nenji was able to get Koshi and Keiko out, but Kaguske remained. Nenshoukaze narrowed his eyes, concentrating as best as he could. He was going to have to be quick to get Kaguske away from the glass in time. As he fell, things around him seemed to drag in their movement, but they were still not slow enough. "Omote Renge!" he shouts, opening up a mental gate to allow him to move at vastly greater speeds. The world about him now slowed to a crawl, and yet he continued his decent at seemingly the same pace as before, although gravity seemed to be slacking in its work. He hit the ground softly, kicking straight off and flying towards Kaguske. Nenshoukaze could see a large mass of glass shards still in the area, very near to hitting the Genin. Nenshoukaze could feel his pulse quicken as the shards got closer and closer to his student. Then, in an instant, it was over. Nenshoukaze grabbed Kaguske around the middle, and kept moving, zipping out of the way of the glass. His ever-observant Zenchigan-enhanced eyes spotted the alcove that the others were hiding in not too far off. He rushed over, depositing his student with the rest of them. OOC: simple logic: you put a sheet of glass in a strong sandstorm such as this and it gets ripped to shreds :P |

Kaguske gasped as his wall shattered. I thought I made it thicker than that...these winds must be stronger than I anticipated. He felt rather than saw himself being picked up by his Sensei. When he was dropped on the sand, he saw a figure on the ground, with several shards of glass in his back. "Damn!" he swore. "God damnit! We have to get it out!" he yelled. Nenji was the best person on their team. If his injury slowed him, that could lead to trouble. Kaguske forced himself to calm down and he went to get the biggest piece glass out of Nenji's back. "Hmm....It's not a very big piece...you're lucky...now..." he said, putting his hands on the glass, as well as he could see through this sand. "Let's see if we can't get this bastard out..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Takumi managed to stand. He could see now that the latent power of his family's history had awoken. OOC:well its time for it to wake up but i have no name yet, oops. anyways its a cross between bakuyagn (spelled wrong) and sharingan. He could see moving chakra circling around him. He stood undaunted waiting for the next attack to come. It was from his left. He grinned flashing his fangs. He quickly turned and tapped a place near the heart of his opponent. The sand warrior's momentum carried him past him, but the body fell limp onto the ground as it slowed down. Takumi cracked his neck OOC:as in not breaking it but like cracking you knuckles I am sure one of you would freak out if I didn't put this, I wonder who... He saw them still circling. Both were stronger than the one he just took out and the sand seemed to be wrapped around a closer one. He must be controlling it Takumi thought. Using the _________gan Takumi quickly copied the sand armor technique his foe was using. A kunai flew in his direction. He escaped the sand armor to watch the kunai stick in. The armor disentigrated. Takumi was right below his opponent. He drew a kunai and jammed it up behind the chin of the sand warrior. He pulled it out the front breaking the face in half with a stream of blood pouring out. The sandstorm around him almost flat out stopped at that moment. The sand fell down and all that was left was a light breeze. |

"I was fine," he says through nearly gritted teeth. "I didn't need help." Nenshoukaze turns to his pupil, raising an eyebrow. "So you say," Nenshoukaze says knowingly. "But you likely would have gotten seriously injured as a result of it, had someone not removed it. I myself was about to get it. Nenji scowled, annoyed that his sensei was taking the side of Kaguske. Well, some things couldn't be helped, and his sensei's wisdom was not complete in all areas OOC: man that post was shit. I mean, all the other places i posted were awesome. this was shit! :P |
Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kaguske idly twirled the shard of glass in his fingers, careful to keep his hands from smearing in Nenji's blood. He smiled inwardly to know that Sensei was siding with him on this one, but he still wished the wall hadn't broke. The sand dropped around them, and Kaguske saw Takumi standing by a dead ninja. He must have caused it all.. he thought, looking at the ninja on the ground.
"Sensei," he said, his bright green eyes still fixed on the dead ninja, "What village was he from?" |

"If you knew that ninjas were seeking your life, wouldn't you have filed it under a higher ranking?" he asked, his green eyes flashing. "We're only Genin!" The piece of glass dropped from his fingers into one of the sand piles that lay around them. OOC:yeah, you better advance it. i'm not sure how it got misfiled... |

"B rank?" Nenshoukaze asks questioningly. "Those ninja were easily chuunin, and the last one may have even been jounin. With such adversaries, I would say this mission more suited as maybe an A, assuming those weren't the only attackers sent after you." The young man surveyed his students and appeared slightly unhappy by what he saw. "This mission is officially out of our jurisdiction. I have to think about the saftey of those with me before giving the OK to continue, but my honor as a shinobi also tells me I should complete the mission before returning." "Sensei," Nenji says annoyedly. "We're fine, don't make us go back. Let them come, I owe these people one." Nenshoukaze nods, accepting the advice of his student. He turns to his friend, the new Anbu member. "What do you think, Takumi? I know you've gotta keep going, but do you think we should?" |

He turned to the students, "If you feel that you must come and that you can handle this type of mission, I would say come." |

"Listen, I don't really care about courage," Nenshoukaze said patiently. "I care about whether or not I'm going to have to bring you back to your parents in a tiny little box. Those shinobi were not to be taken lightly. I could likely take them solo, but with a bunch of Genin around to protect, things get complicated." Nenji glanced at his sensei once again, the same look of annoyance present in his eyes. "Sensei..." "You may be skilled, Nenji, but even you couldn't take on a Jounin." OOC: this was actually incomplete, but i accidentally hit submit and dont feel like finishing it anymore :P |

"...And from the looks of things, we're likely to run into one or two along the way," Nenshoukaze went on. He glanced over at his good friend Takumi. "Takumi may be able to help for a little while, but he is ANBU and has other things that he needs to get done. He will have to leave soon to get on with his mission, and I doubt he'd want to hang around a bunch of Genin like you lot if he had a choice." The Jounin paused for a moment in consideration, ignoring the look of annoyance which showed all over Koshi's face. "Fine, we'll go," he says at last. At these words the corners of Nenji's mouth turned up in a grin. Nenshoukaze continued, "But don't come crying to me if you get hurt. I already gave you far warning and you still wanted to go." OOC: on another note: 700th post! Congratulations all, we've posted another 100! |

Kaguske smiled. The mission wasn't over. "Hell yeah!" he said, leaping slightly into the air and pumping his fist. Realizing he was drawing stares, he simply drew 3 shuriken from his pocket and picket a target on a nearby tree. Knot in the wood, 3 feet down on one side... he thought to himself. He threw the shuriken, when all nearly hit dead center. He had always been pretty good, and he had never known why. He hadn't practice with throwing shuriken much, but he had always hit near the center of the target. He assumed it was natural skill. |

Waving goodbye to his old friend, Nenshoukaze straightened his sunglasses and pulled his robes closer around him. They could easily be in for some trouble if what he thought was true. He threw a cursory glance about the place, and then began walking, motion his students to follow him. The quicker they finished, the happier he would be |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kaguske followed his sensei, as they continued towards Sound Village. He had always heard that Sound nin's were the cruelest of all ninjas. He hoped it wasn't true. But then, why were there Sand ninja's after Koshi? None of it made any sense.

The lamp swayed in the damp room while plates fell on the floor, waking Alexander. "Whos there!?" Alexander said yelling into the air. "Oh just the waves." Alexander put on his rain cloak and headed out. The door creaked as he quickly opened it. The wind blowing back Alexander's dark brown hair and his green cloak. "Hey, crew get out here!!" he yelled. All at once "Yessir!" Alexander's boat crew quickly assembled. "Take down these sails there is to much wind they wont hold for long!" The crew worked against the wind to take the huge sails for the small ship down. Alexander grabing the wheel to stabelize the small ship. "Navigator, where is the closest island?"said Alexander. "Here sir no name but it will work."said the navigator. "Thank you." Alexander turned the wheel to this small island. (Hey this story takes place in Japan right?) |
