Nenji glances at the sky, noticing that his time was slowly running out. He would have to come up with a plan quickly if he was going to get a bell. Then his thoughts once again turn to the lack of a third bell. He thought of his team-mates, and their obvious faults. Though he definately wanted - no, perhaps needed is a better word - a bell for himself, he wasn't sure if he could get one for himself, much less the others managing to procure one. He wondered if perhaps the true nature of the test was for the strongest to get all the bells and then give one to the person he thought was best fit to be a team-mate. Could that be it? It seemed a bit selfish, but it also seemed more likely than the initial, assumed explanation. Nenji tucks this thought into the back of his mind and continues through the woods, subconsciously wondering who would be the better teammate if he managed to procure both bells. OOC:no action there, yet, but that's because I need to hit the hay. If boots hasn't posted tomorrow, then I'll very likely add some action. It seems like he would come to the right conclusion, but I'm trying to keep him from getting it just yet. Partially because I made it clear that probably nobody should get it... even though it's simply logical. maybe it's logical because I saw the episode, i dunno :P |

Kaguske finally found Nenji. At last, he thought, Maybe we can make this plan work. "Nenji," he said, "Listen. We need to work together to so much as even get one bell, OK? He's too fast. I have a few plans. If we work together, we can start on the simple ones and then move to the better ones when he's not expecting it. But I need your help. And Keiko's. Otherwise, we'll fall apart. Will you help me?" |

"Lets try to think about this," he says in a tone that could insinuate a lack of respect for the person he is speaking to. "He's many times faster than we are put together, that much is obvious. He is also stronger and likely is smarter than at least you, which may not be saying much. So, our possible conversation would go like this: You tell me your lame ideas, I shoot them down, we probably argue, and then we've wasted lots of time. It's obvious that teamwork is to play an important part in this test -- why else would they group us in three-man teams?" he pauses, letting this information seep through Kaguske's thick skull. "Any way, there's no point in making a plan. Even my plans don't work. For now just hit him with all you've got. I figure I'm the only one who has a chance to get a bell, so if you can distract him I'll get 'em for you and Keiko." He turns around, trying to locate Nenshoukaze. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kaguske was fuming. Nenji was ruining possibly the only chance they had. But still, he had nearly the same plan that Kaguske had, so it could have been worse. He went out to confront the Sensei, and then remembered that he needed Keiko's help too. He rushed off to find her.
Keiko was watching Nenshoukaze from her hiding spot, a bush behind him. She heard a slight crashing, only audible because she was listening for it. She turned around. It was that other kid, Kaguske. "Is there something you want?" she asked quietly, hoping that Nenshoukaze hadn't heard. "Yes," Kaguske said. "We have somewhat of a plan. We distract him, Nenji says he's going to try to get the bells. I'll try a few jutsu, see if any of them work, but..." he shook his head. "That guy is like smoke in the wind. We have to be quick, OK?" Keiko nodded. "Alright then, let's go." Both of them stayed in cover as long as they could, sneaking around to either side of him. Then, they both rushed out at top speed, kunai's drawn. OOC:note: this is kawarimi no jutsu, ur char probably doesn't know. maybe he does. |
| Digithe Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 884 | Posted: Wed Sep 24, 2003 4:17 pm | Characters: All for this theme; By Digithe: This theme, Any theme OOC: umm...actually, it's not kawarimi. all you're doing is jumping at him >< kawarimi would occur later, right before I hit you with a kunai or something. remember: kawarimi no jutsu is the body replacement technique. it's not an illusion or a clone of any sort. I assume what you mean is that they plan to use a kawarimi no jutsu in conjunction with their attack..
Nenji watched from not too far away as his fellow students attacked their future teacher. He watched carefully for any openings, preparing to mould his chakra at any given moment. Nenshoukaze tilted his head, glancing at the two students attacking him. Good, he thinks. It looks like their at least trying to cooperate. I wonder where that Nenji is, though. Nenshoukazeflips a page in the Excel Saga manga he had recently continued reading while deftly dodging the students' charges and reappearing a few meters away from them. Nenji clenches his fist in anticipation, but remains still; the right time had not come just yet. Patience was a virtue which all shinobi must have abundantly. |

Kaguske and Keiko had charged past the Sensei, watching as he reappeared behind them. They both knew that Nenshoukaze was ready to spring. He was waiting for the right moment. Well, he thought, I hope Nenji is watching this, I don't want to lose our only chance. He stopped, and threw several kunai at the Sensei, making it look like a large wave in the air. |

Nenji snaps to attention as his sensei raises his arm to the side to throw the kunai back at Kaguske. Nenji springs into action, launching a handful of kunai and shuriken at Kaze. In anticipation of a kawarimi, he leaps out of his hiding spot, trying to sense where the sensei would reappear. He strained his ears and eyes, looking, listening, feeling. He clutched onto a kunai in his hand. He closed his eyes for a moment, then when he opened them again, it was as if he'd truely seen the world for the first time. It felt as though he could see everything around him at the same time; he could almost see the life of the things, the plants eminating a soft glow and his teammates glowing stronger, based on their chakra level.
Then he saw him. Nenshoukaze, nestled quietly in a tree not too far away, with a surprisingly small aura eminating him. He pays close attention as he tosses the kunai up at Nenshoukaze, who dodges it swiftly. But then when he moved, though normally seemingly an instantanious thing, he could actually see him, flying with innate speed towards the ground. So Nenji moved, much to the apparent surpise of Nenshoukaze. Nenji leaped into the air, throwing a spinning kick to Kaze's head, which is blocked by Nenshoukaze with his left arm. Nenji allows himself to fall, avoiding a half-hearted punch thrown by Nenshoukaze. And then it happens. As Nenshoukaze pushes away, Nenji snatches a bell from his sensei's beltloop. Nenshoukaze plants his feet into the ground, grinding to a halt, looking at Nenji, who steadily picks him up from the ground. Nenji grins as he looks up, opening his eyelids. What Nenshoukaze sees causes him surprise, even though he'd known about it and been expecting it. "The Zenchigan," Kaze says, allowing a tone of amazement and approval to creep into his voice. "I must admit that I wasn't expecting you to be able to use it at this early stage. I congratulate you." "Congratulate Keiko," he says offhandedly, throwing the bell to her. "She's the one who's passed. I've still got some work ahead of me." Nenshoukaze's smile widens, and he looks approvingly at all of his students. "Excellent!" He says, his voice a mixture of surpise and excitement. "You all pass." Nenji gapes at his teacher. So that was the test, he thinks to himself. Heh, I should've known. |

"It was so simple, yet none of us could exactly come up with it," she said apparently overjoyed. "When is our first job?" she asked her teacher.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Takumi stopped frowning and smiled some. " You are gonna get a crappy reputation passing people like that." He pulled something out of his pocket. It was a crumpled application for becoming a hunter-nin. He had already taken the classes and had to fill out this one last paper. At the place where you apply he handed over his paper. Instead of a mission assignment or anything, a mask was handed back to him. Pulling his spiked black hair away from his face he donned the mask. This was his future, there is no going back. He went to his house and went to sleep he wanted to get his mission at the same time as the others so he needed to get up early. Takumi took off the mask and starred at it for some time. He put it next to his bed and tucked himself under the covers. "What a day," he sighed as he shut his eyes. |

"I suppose I'll be off too," he says, performing a hand seal. With a puff of smoke, he dissappeared. Nenji raises his hand up in a halfhearted acknowledgment of his Sensei's departure, then turns to leave himself. What an interesting person, he thinks as he heads home. OOC: If the next person who posts could have the day ending and the next one starting in their post, I'd be grateful |

"That pervert...." she mumbled in her sleep, "but, hes sooooo hot." OOC:thats what you get for letting me do this, hehe. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keiko awoke early. She fixed herself a skimpy amount of breakfast and started messing around with her hair. Once it was placed perfectly (about an hour after she started) she decided to go meet up with the group to get their mission. "Hey everybody, I am surprised you are awake." Once again, Kaze was late. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Takumi grumbled to himself as he awoke. It was way to early. He started to cook cup ramen. OOC:See a recurring meal trend? He scarfed it down leaving his stomach warm and him awake. He put on his clothes and looked over at his mask. He slowly put it on. He performed a hand seal and appeared seeing everybody else, except Kaze. |
