Nenshoukaze looks up at the sky and the position of the sun overhead. He guessed that it was probably about ten-thirty, give or take a few minutes. Now would probably be a good time to get started. He closed his eyes, allowing the Zenchigan to dissapate and his eyes return to normal. Then in an instant, he appeared in the clearing in plain view of all those present. "Ah, good morning!" he says pleasantly, mimicing Kakashi-sensei. Keiko glares at him indignantly. "You were supposed to be here HOURS ago!" she yells unhappily. Kaze merely smiles in response to her hostility. "Well, there's a good reason for that, I'm sure," he responds. "But don't ask what it is, because I dont really know myself." Keiko sighs, giving it up for the moment. "Oi, Takumi!" Kaze yells towards Kaguske's location. "I think you've had enough fun; it's time I start testing these kids." Nenji turns around at these last words. "Kids?" he asks. "Not meaning any disrespect, but you're hardly older than us, I'm sure." "I suppose that's true, but you're still Genin, and that makes you kids," Nenshoukaze says smiling. Nenji and Keiko sigh collectively. |
Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kaguske realized now who their Sensei was. He's that guy who became a Jounin at our age... He thought. Bet they all knew that... He looked up in the trees around him, as if expecting to be dive bombed by Takumi at any moment. He jumped over to the others.
"Alright then," he said, a little miffed at his Sensei's tardiness, "What is our test going to be?" |

Then he reaches into a pocket and pulls out a pair of bells tied to the end of small ribbons.
"I wont lie to you, this test is hard. The failure rate of this test is two-thirds, and if you don't pass you will be sent straight back to the academy. Now," he says holding up the two bells. "Each of you must steal a bell from me. Those who get a bell will pass, and get to eat. Those who don't get a bell by noon will get no lunch, and will be failed. In fact, not only will you be tied to a post, but I'll eat right in front of you. Any questions?" Nenji looks on with a mild look of annoyance in his eye, but says nothing. There was something different about this test, he sensed, but he couldn't quite place his finger on it. He dismissed this thought for the moment, however, and began devising possible courses of action. |

"Hey," he said. "She's right, why aren't there three bells?" |

"Actually, it could even be not just one, but all three. Go ahead and use your shuriken and kunai; if you don't come at me with a killing intent, you will never get a bell."
Nenji crosses his arms, narrowing his eyebrows slightly. Yea, definately something weird about this, he thinks. |

"So, when do we get started?" he asks, eminating confidence which he isn't entirely sure that he has. |

Of all of Kakashis 5 students that passed, we were the only two who got the bells. How the others passed, that information I shall not leak," He said all this while tossing his Excel Saga book to Kaze. "Kaze, I just finished that its great!" he turned to the kids, "Let the games begin." |

"Thanks, I'm sure I'll look into it," he says enthusiastically. "Now, begin!" Leaving behind a cloud of dust, Nenji dissappears into the wilderness, hiding himself as best as he could. He watches Nenshoukaze intently, looking for any kind of opening. Nenshoukaze similarly watches his prospective students, seeing how well they hid themselves. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Just as quickly as Nenji, Kaguske leaped away into the trees nearby and hid himself as well as he could. He observed the field, watching for any signs of movement from the area around him, and from his Sensei. I won't fail. I will get one of those bells. he thought.
Keiko ran to the woods similarly, hiding in a bush, waiting for someone to act. I wonder who's going to fail...but...that pervert Takumi said that three other people passed, and none of them got the bells.So...how did they pass? she thought, baffled at the notion. |

Good, he thinks. They seem to be well hidden. After nothing happens for a few short moments, he pulls out the Excel Saga manga and begins reading.
Nenji looks on with interest. So Kaze-sensei was reading a manga at a time like this? He seemed to be showing an opening, but Nenji had a feeling that he left it open to see what the other students would do. A Jounin like him would likely not consciously leave such an obvious opening. So Nenji sits tight, restricting his movement and breathing to keep him as silent as possible. He looked in the direction where he thought he'd sensed Kaguske last, wondering if he'd come to the same conclusions or simply attack outright. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kaguske continued to watch Nenshoukaze reading his manga. Why is he reading, when he knows we're going to attack him? Does he think we suck that bad? he thought.
Keiko, still hiding in her bush, figured that now would be as good a time as any to catch him off guard. She swiftly drew three kunai and sent all of them at Nenshoukaze. After doing so, she dashed off to find a different hiding place. Seeing this, Kaguske nearly jumped in shock. Wow, he thought, That was abrupt... Considering this, he launched a kunai of his own. Not waiting to see whether or not it hit, he leapt to the ground and dashed off some thirty feet to another tree. |

He raises it up, tilting it just so and deflects one of Keiko's kunai up in front of his face. He then grabs this and uses it to deflect the remaining three which were flying at him. He then throws this with intense force, so that it slammed into the tree trunk just above Kaguske's head, clipping a hair. He turns the a page in the manga and chuckles again.
Nenji gapes in a mixture of awe and horror at Kaze's skill. This was definately not going to be an easy test to pass. He looks around at his teammates, then focuses his attention back at Nenshoukaze. Such simple attacks, he reasoned, would be useless against a ninja of that caliber. Silently, he backs up into the woods. |

AND he deflected all of the kunai while still reading Excel Saga manga! He is good! he thought. He quickly dashed off to find the other two. He had a feeling that they would need to make a plan. |

Though it could be some creature, he suspected that it was one of the trainees. Were they perhaps going to form a plan of attack? He smiled, but didn't let himself get his hopes up. Suddenly, Nenji appeared out of nowhere, throwing a handful of kunai as he leapt towards his Sensei. Nenshoukaze quickly put the manga away, managing to catch a kunai, deflect the rest and send the remaining one in his hand at Nenji. Kawarimi? he thinks, anticipating the technique. Indeed, as the kunai hit Nenji, his body was replaced with a large log. Kaze spun around, dodging another kunai from the opposite direction and catching Nenji's right leg in the midst of a kick.
Nenji quickly spun around with his left leg, which Kaze also caught. However now Nenji was now in a position to grab a bell. Seeing this, Nenshoukaze let go of Nenji, and leapt back, right before Nenji could get a grip. Nenji orients himself and lands, grinning. Suddenly a hail of shuriken came down upon Nenshoukaze. A trap?!? he thinks. This kid is better than I thought! The shuriken slam into Nenshoukaze, however with a puff of smoke, it becomes apparent that he used another kawarimi no jutsu. Nenji looks around him, frantically trying to find Nenshoukaze. "Underneath you!" Nenshoukaze shouts, reaching his hand out of the ground and pulling Nenji under. Nenshoukaze then pulled himself to the top of the ground, leaving Nenji seemingly helpless. "Earth type; Inner Decapitation Technique," he says. "A shinobi must look underneath the underneath, remember?" He chuckles at his pun. "I remember when Kakashi used that skill on Takumi during our test. Hope that a teammate will come and help you out. That is my advice to you." Nenshoukaze then dissappears, wondering where Kaguske had gotten himself off to. Tch, I don't need their help, Nenji thinks. I can do this myself. He struggles a bit, then manages to use his chakra and OOC:some technique or something to get himself out. He dusts himself off, then goes back into the woods. |
| Sauder Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 131 | Watching from afar Takumi saw every vain attempt to attack Kaze. He laughed a little under his breath. At this rate they will never get the bells. Lets hope one of them is smart enough to figure the other way out. He reached into his pocket for another manga, King of Bandits Jing. He started reading constantly looking up at the others seeing if progress was being made. |
