When the chuunin noticed him, it was too late; a kunai from his own pouch had been lodged in the back of his neck. The young jounin looked about, searching for... something. What it was, he could not tell. His senses told him that they were missing something, but even with his Zenchigan he could not detect what it was. Then, it hit him; it was obvious, really. These chuunin, while they may have been a nearly insurmountable obstacle for the genin students he was protecting, they were little more than a distraction. Something -- or someone -- was waiting, just beyond the shadows.
He continued to look, though he disguised his searching as fighting; he absentmindedly redirected a half-dozen shuriken into another, unsuspecting chuunin, then used this as a human shield to defend against further bombardment as he planted a solid roundhouse into the temple of another nearby opponent. Yes, it was obvious. They were being watched, scrutinized for strengths and weaknesses. This opponent was good; Nenshoukaze could still not yet locate him -- or her -- but he knew that he was there. He purposely began to lead his enemies to allow himself to get nearer to his friend, within the range of his voice, but just out of earshot of anyone else. "Takumi!" he half-shouted, trying to keep his voice just barely loud enough so that his ANBU friend could hear. "Don't show your true abilities; we're being watched," he said as he dislocated an oncoming genin's arm and throwing his limp body to the ground. His message having been delivered, he quickly led his enemies back with him towards the genin again; he did not want to leave them for any longer than necessary in this situation. |

Though he was several years the elder of this other jounin, he knew this would be a tough fight. But he had done the one thing he needed to first: he rooted out the special abilities of both the upper level ninja. It had taken just to long to realize the truth...that it was a setup, just to watch the abilities of the konoha-nin. Masatake was ready. All that was left was for his subordinate to make her move and put the ANBU out of the way. He gripped his scythe and prepared to go. |

OOC:i'm working on a name so shutup whoever is thinking about saying something, i'm coming up with more stuff about it so its not the niftyest thing in the world and isn't cheap as hell He presumed that Kaze would take on the leader just because he's selfish like that. Takumi decided to take the next best thing, the fine assistant, once he won, he would make sure to have an "accident" OOC:damn those age 15 horemones He was too cocky, like usual. He leapt into the area of the girl, just to be hit harder than he thought would happen, he flew back into a tree, hitting it hard, the branches crunched as he broke them as he fell. He was out... |

She had, of course, assumed, that ANBU would be more stealthy. But it made her job easier. She went up to him and jabbed a needle in each shoulder and knee. When he woke up, he wouldn't be able to move for about and hour. She disappeared and reappeared near her master.
"It is done." She said. "Proceed." Masatake smiled, though this was invisible due to his face mask. "Thank you." He said, disappearing. *** From out of nowhere, a scythe flew just over the heads of the genin and stuck in a tree. A figure appeared on it, staring at the Jounin. "Hello, Shinomori Nenshoukaze." Masatake said. |

So this is what he sensed; he should have guessed sooner. The young jounin forced himself to control his irritation at this person -- he should be dead, after all.
"Who are you?" he asked innocently, with no sign of his glare from earlier. "And why are you referring to me so familliarly?" |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Masatake raised an eyebrow.
"What, no recognition of an old friend?" he asked. "It is I, Masatake. I'm surprised you forgot. Is it the face mask?" He shook his head. "I don't mean to bother you long, but if you could just hand over the old man, than I can leave." Kaguske looked at the stranger on the scythe. "Sensei, who is this guy?" |

Suddenly, he became more serious. His eyes looked carefully at his opponent, analyzing every detail, estimating any changes in strength which might have occured since their last enounter, as well as what kind of training he may have endured. These were all critical to the battle which was to come. "However," he continued, the change to seriousness carried over in his voice. "I cannot allow you to take Mr. Rikudo." |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | "GAH!" he said, nearly falling off the scythe. "How can you not remember me???" Masatake shook his head.
"It is an order of mine. It will certainly be interesting to see how you've improved since our last battle." |

"I still can't quite recall who you are..." His voice trailed off, and his sentance was finished by a voice which spoke from behind Masatake. "...but I think you will be happy enough to...die." Behind this new shinobi was another Nenshoukaze, a Kage Bunshin, hanging upside down from a tree limb. It used chakra accumulated in its feet to stick to the bottom of the branch. In its hand it held a kunai, the tip of which was just millimeters from the back of Masatake's head. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | By the time the Kage Bunshin was pressing the kunai to Masatake's head, he was already gone. He stood on the ground nearby.
"Carrying along little ninja, are we?" he asked mockingly. "Let's see how they hold up to this! Sunakagure no jutsu!" A swirl of sand began, forming into a full scale storm. "See through this, Zenchigan Kaze!" a voice said. |

This time, however, he would not be so caught off guard. Their battle showed to him that severe weakness of his, and he had since trained to fight more efficiently in limited visibilty such as this. His Zenchigan had gotten stronger, and so had he. This battle would prove to move in a much different way than the last.
Kaze instantly leapt towards Masatake, his Zenchigan already invoked; he knew that this man knew of it, so there was no point in hiding it. As he moved, he removed his dark sunglasses allowing full use of his special eye-technique -- Those very sunglasses were constructed custom to hinder the Zenchigan, thus allowing him to train it and make it stronger, faster. He quickly performed seals -- Boar, dog, tiger, serpent, boar, horse -- and formed a katana using his "Kage-ken no Jutsu*." He held it to his side, then immediately after touching ground he pushed off and slashed horizontally at his opponent. OOC: Kage-ken no jutsu*: Eventually I'll create a dictionary for everyone's custom jutsu, but until then i'll explain this since he hasn't used it here yet. He basically creates a sword of pure chakra, although it also has properties of a real sword; technically it is an earth-element technique. That's about all that's needed to know in this situation ^^; |

Masatake smiled. His oppenent had gotten better indeed. He smiled as he brought up his scythe. Oddly enough, the scythe blocked the kageken. "Did we forget how you cannot break my scythe?" he asked. "Or are you just trying to disacknowledge me some more?" *** Meanwhile, Kaguske leapt back towards Koshi Rikudo and drew his kunai. It was difficult to see, and the man had made it sound as though his sensei would have trouble in this. But...He also said that Kaze had...what was it? Zenchigan? Didn't Nenji have that? Kaguske still was clueless to it's nature and wondered why the sand ninja even knew about it. |

Nenshoukaze replied with a grin. As he spoke, his Kage-ken moved straight through the scythe as though it had never been there. From his previous experience in fighting this person, Kaze anticipated the use of a sand clone, or perhaps a kawarimi. He focused half of his Zenchigan's power into observation, searching for where Masatake would reappear. Kaze remembered the irritating sand consealment technique which had been used in their last match, and wanted to prevent its use at all costs.
OOC: no, I'm pretty sure Nenji doesn't know. I'll post as him eventually... i dun feel like it right now :P |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Masatake chuckled slightly as the sword went through his scythe, slicing him in half. He dissolved into sand, and didn't reappear for a moment.
"Did we forget about your little tagalongs?" he asked mockingly. He suddenly reappeared in the midst of all the genin and Koshi Rikudo. He chuckled as he drew his weapon to strike. "Night night, little ninja!" he said as he swung. OOC:like zabuza, taking away ur focus |

"You haven't changed a bit," Nenshoukaze said rather calmly, although an edge of irritation creeped into his voice. "Predictable as ever." A long, thin, black pole blocked Masatake's strike, seemingly held in thin air by the air itself. It pulsed and glowed with what might be described as "life." The young jounin appeared from nowhere, almost flying from a slight angle above Masatake's left side. Kaze's sword slashed horizontally at his opponent's ungaurded left shoulder. |
