Killing out of cold blood was starting to wear off its effect on his morals or whats left of them. He was looking for a good meal and a little cash, thats what kept him waiting, everso still. He heard voices toward the door. Light spilled across the darkness of the street. He dropped down and sent his sword through the skull of the one below him. He didn't bother to pull it out yet for he saw silver, the stuff of his nightmares. He reached for daggers and got the necks of the two to his sides. He licked the blood off the knife. Inside he saw his target. He dashed in toward him a blade came out of the side of his forearm. Noe cleared off the head which was all he needed. He took all the money and weapons he found. He bagged the head and found the glasses. He poured some of the fresh blood into a flask and started walking. He collected his sword and dissapeared from sight...
He finished the flask and his teeth receded some as he walked inside of who he was working for. He dropped the head onto the desk and took the money. The sun would shine soon, he had to hurry back. Quickly dashing through the forest he made it back and went to the basement to clean his... tools. |

Near the center of this village is a giant tree, taller than any building and thicker than any of the other trees with twenty miles. And skewered upon this tree is a skeleton, the clothes still upon it from it's death are tattered and torn from the wear of time. The bones are held together by a strange, unexplained and unquestioned force -- a reason that the tree is often avoided by anyone other than those tending to it. Attatching the skeleton to the tree is a wooden sword, once sharp as any metal one, now worn dull by time which runs through where the heart would have been, were the skeleton still alive. On and around the tree are various symbols, placed by priests in order to keep the spirit that belongs to the skeleton away. Around the arms and legs was a thick, green, ropelike substance which was wrapped around the respective part many times, then around the trunk of the tree. This method, as employed by the village priests, worked for many hundreds of years, until one day an adventurous group of teens grew up in the village.
From their birth, the elders of the village predicted that they would cause trouble, and though it didn't seem so at first, the people of the village would soon find out how right the elders were. --- "I'm so bored," the tallest boy said, twirling a twig around his fingers. "What should we do, guys?" "I dunno, there's nothing to do." A slightly shorter boy answered, his hair a vibrant blonde. "How 'bout we go mess with that skeleton on the tree?" the third boy, the shortest and fattest now chimes in. They agree, though warily at first. However, as they make their way to the tree, they get more and more excited. That day would be perfect for it, as the rest of the village was in the town hall at a meeting. The trio arrived at the tree, and were suddenly not so sure about it anymore. The skeleton was imposing and unwelcoming, and they'd been taught all their life to keep away. All those warnings now flooded back to them as they crept ever closer. "Bah, what harm could it do?" the tallest one says rhetorically. "It's been dead hundreds of years, right?" "Yea, yea!" the short, fat one says. "Alright, you wimps. Since none of you are gonna do it, I'll pull the sword out." "Wait, pull it out?" the blonde asks, once again unsure if the idea was such a good one anymore. "But the elders said--" "Elders, shmelders," the tall one says. "Go for it, Chouji!" Chouji, the short fat one had by then made it up to the tree and had his hands on what would have been the hilt of the sword. He yanks hard on it, but it doesn't budge, so he props his feet up against the tree for better leverage. "Oh come on, man, do I hafta do everything?" The tall one says. But before he gets over to his friend, the sword loosens and flies out, the boy flying with it. But instead of simply dropping, the weapon continues straight out for at least twenty feet before dropping and skidding to the ground. The remaining boys stand, horrified at what had happened -- it was obviously not of Chouji's doing. The bones began to rattle, a sound which prompted the two to get moving. They ran as though the devil himself were chasing them, barely stopping to help Chouji up off his feet. The bones continued rattling as best as they could, still being bound to the tree with the cord. Slowly, thin streams of an unmistakable red liquid began swirling around the bones -- blood. The number of streams continued to grow exponentially until soft flesh began to form along them, enveloping them with veins. Around these soft, dark pink flesh began to form, surrounding and veins and binding to the flesh with tendons. Once the muscle finished forming, skin oozed across the newly formed flesh like spilled milk might ooze across the surface of a table. Once the skin was completely reformed, two orbs began to form in the sockets of his eyes, whilst his hair -- jet black but for a few streaks of mahogany -- began to reappear on his head. Barely a minute later, he was whole again. The man looked down at his limbs and scowled; his memory was painfully intact, and he could recall with intence precision the events leading up to his capture at this spot. But how long had it been? Though his body had been destroyed, his spirit had remained, wandering the earth, resigned to being eternally condemned. No longer, however, was he a spirit. He had returned to flesh and blood, and he guessed it was a group of foolish humans, to stupid or ignorant to heed to words of their elders, who set him free. He stretched out his hands, and the grew larger, his claws appearing. With these he easily sliced through bindings about his wrists, then through those at his feet. He landed on the ground softly, his vampire feet able to tread softly in nearly any situation. Though he knew he needed new clothing, it was in decent enough shape that he could survive for a time without being too embarassed. Embarassment, however, was not his present concern. His concern was of the sun. Though it was still early, and he would be fine for some time without more clothing to cover his skin due to not being entirely vampire, he would need it later when the thirteen percent of his human blood could no longer sustain him on its own. He gritted his teeth, suddenly feeling a familiar feeling welling up within him. This new feeling became his prime concern for the moment -- he was hungry. OOC: I was gonna post more, but that seems like a good ending for the post right there. I'll post more later, but for now i'd prolly prefer if you kept any characters away atm. Unless, of course, they actually WOULD be in the middle of nowhere ^.^;; |

A familiar dark red color filled the vampire's vision, consentrated en masse not too far away. He feels the tips of his fangs with his tongue, then leaps hungrily into the air and on top of the nearest building. From there he leapt from roof to roof, untill he finally reached the town hall. He bent down low to the surface, tilting his head so that his ear touched the asphault panelling. He could hear their conversation as it reverberated about the great expanse of the building, finally filtering up to the roof where the sound vibrations just barely got through. He titled his head again, lowering his nose close to the roof. He sniffs around a few times, then stands up. I do not smell fear, he thinks to himself. "Well then," he says softly. He stretches his hand out, and the fingers lengthen and turn into claws. "I shall have to rectify that; human blood never tastes good when they don't die with fear in their hearts." With these words, he leaps into the air, spins around, and dives back down, through the roof. He plows through the wooden rafters effortlessly, grinning as dust and shards of the roof fell towards the ground. Several high-pitched shreaks erupted from the group, accompanied by lower yells of both fear and pain. "No way!" One man shouts. "Kenji escaped!" cried another. "Fetch the elders!" Kenji the vampire stood up, his eyes glowing a blood-red. "Die," he says coldly. "Die, so that I may have my revenge." He leaps upon the nearest person, sinking his vampiric fangs into the unfortunate man's neck. When done draining the man of his blood, he drops the corpse to the ground, a happy grin upon his face as he views the horrified people surrounding him, almost literally frozen with fear. "Who's next?" he asks villainously, his fangs dripping with fresh, sweet blood. |

A town official stopped him, "We will pay you all you want, just get rid of him...." he said as he fell limp to the ground, lifeless. He saw people flying and fountains of blood where the crowd was running from. He took off over to the scene. He jumped over the circle, his cloak trailing him. He landed, "If you are looking for who is next, I am," he grinned, fangs showing. |

"A hunter?" he asks in a deep, raspy voice. "I have no time to deal with such as you; I have blood to replenish, and possessions to repossess." He pauses, examining the cloaked man opposite him. "Oh, so you're one of those," he says detestfully. "A vampire hunting his own kind, eh? You are truly pathetic." He snarls, bearing his fangs, still dripping with blood. "Fine then," he says, the strong tone of hatred still easily noticed in his voice. "I shall deal with you now." |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kurokaze walked down the road, staying in the shadows of the trees. Although it was still morning, the vampire in him would not survive full daylight. He was a Dunpeal, half man, half vampire, despised by all. Humans were revolted from him. Vampires hated him for hunting them. He was a misfit; he belonged nowhere. A town was not to far off. One he knew well. It had places that offered shade from the sun. He knew this town had one other thing in it: the skeleton of Kenji the Vampire. He had heard of his defeat. He knew what sealed him away. And he hoped it would never be undone.
He entered the town, and began to move toward one of the buildings when he saw people running. Smiling, he moved out of their way. What he saw removed the smile from his face. It was a vampire, squaring off with a man in a black cloak. It can't be... he thought. Kenji is free. He leaped into a nearby tree to watch, placing one hand on his sword. |

His gloved hand grasped a sword, as he pulled it out, it gleamed in the moonlight, illuminating the scene. He swung it around quickly sending rays of light all around him. He took a fighting stance, and didn't wait at all. He lunged out with his non-sword arm using an attached shield on his forearm as a weapon. It went straight for Kenji's head. |

Kenji's nose twitched with the arrival of a new scent as he leaps high into the air, over Noe's shield. He glared angrily at the approaching sunlight at the horizon, wondering how long his present opponent would risk staying before being forced to flee; he knew from his great sense of smell that the man's blood was that of a full vampire, and he also knew that full vampires could not stand any light from the sun. Being still weak and without a proper weapon of his own, he may have to use this for his defence. The new scent which had come to his nose previously was revisited in that exact moment as he touched down upon the ground. He jerked his head to the side, and all at once his suspicions were confirmed. It was a Dunpeal, a half-vampire. Despite having a small bit of human blood himself, Kenji despised the Dunpeal and everything they stood for. He despised his great-grandmother, whose human blood was the cause of the tainting of his, a scar that would affect him and his lineage forever. He sneared an evil sneer at this halfling, abandoning his previous battle to leap into the tree, claws beared. His large, vampiric canine teeth shone, glinting in the oncoming morning light. "Dunpeal! You are not fit to wield a sword," he snarls. "Allow me to relieve you of it... and your life!" |

"So, Kenji," he snarled, leveling his sword at him. "You would try to take my sword? Know that if you do, your head might come off with it." |

He did not recognize a thing about the hunter, except that an entire fifty percent of his blood was tainted with the scent of humans -- this factor was the only thing which entered his mind at the moment. That, and the desire to eliminate such an abomination.
"Your idle threats do not bother me, Dunpeal," he says through gritted teeth. "I have lain waste to many hunters vastly more powerful than you. Be honored that I even open my mouth to insult you." Without any further words, he lunged at the half-breed, his right hand held off to the side, claws extended and ready to strike the instant he reached the hunter. |

Kurokaze leaped out of the way, sheathing his sword, as he knew it was not the time for that yet. He saw the cloaked man throw knives at Kenji. So...I have an ally. Or maybe I don't. he thought. He seems to be a hunter...another vampire, maybe? He drew several silver throwing knives. Kurokaze readied the knives to throw, aiming to down or weaken the age-old vampire. He launched them at Kenji, knowing that the cloaked man's words would not remove the hate of Dunpeals from his antagonist. He was coming for Kurokaze. |

He would have to find someone to remake it for him. His worry at present, however, was a strong offense to make up for his obvious lack of defense. He forces his body to drop from the air, barely managing to dodge the knives which flew at him from both directions. He lands on the ground, then immediately leaps back into the air towards the tree which Kurokaze was situated in. He ran up the tree in an almost animal-like manner, then leaps towards Kurokaze, reaching for the Dunpeal's sheathed sword. |

He sprinted as far as he could at top speed. He reached a forest and entered it, the sun was nearly up. He aimed his hand at the ground and dirt started to rise up. Soon enough there was a large hole. He didn't have much time, he leaped into the hole, and pulled dirt in around him. The sun's light swept across the ground, right as the last hole in his cover was filled. |

"Come on, Kenji!" he called. "How well can you do in daylight?" OOC:bleh |
