OOC: Mmm... no I don't really remember that.... Knowledge about technology is... fine, but considering he was just sort of wandering around as a dark sith.... I suppose I'd be fine with him having a breadth of knowledge, but I question whether or not he could have the *depth* he'd need to hack a droid and reprogram it to do your bidding. That aside, from a programming and electronics point of view, I still don't think it possible to hack the thing remotely like you did.

Correct me if I'm wrong... (Boots, this means you, too -- if you decide to show up, that is)

Jidat smiled vaguely, the sight of this familiar face calling a bittersweet memory from his mental archives. He remembered very well the imbecile he'd had to deal with that day, and his somewhat brief adventure with being bodyguard. He shifted his position slightly, noticing several force-sensitive auras in the area. The man in front of him, of course, but also another at a table, one extremely close to him, and... several others whose whereabouts he was only vaguely conscious of. As of yet, he didn't sense anything life-threatening so he shoved the thought to the side, and made a mental note to practice his aura-sensing abilities.

"I suppose I've stayed simply because I can stay," the Shadow replied with a laugh. "Masking my presence is not a great feat -- I think I've been doing it to some extent for a great deal of my life, just to not attract attention, you know. Still... meditation helps, and so does various other beliefs and theories I have.... No need to bore you, though. Long story short, I'm not sure if I could explain it, haha...." Here, Jidat trailed off, staring off and losing focus for a moment, before abruptly turning in his chair to face Zaris.

"So, are you enjoying your stay in this filthy establishment?" he asked out of nowhere. He had no particular goal in mind when he spoke. Yet, it was not exactly out of curiosity. He was not so much interested in her answer, as in her response. Yes, that's it.

The large bartender gave him a look of curiosity, but apparently decided it best not to question his strange young bouncer. Perhaps he'd grown used to such strangeness -- periods of silence and not showing up, then suddenly talking to everyone in the bar, for example.

The waiter never returned with her glass.

Vega tapped her fingers impatiently on the table, and finally decided that there was no way it could take someone that long to fill a glass with water, provided that they had two working legs. And of course she couldn't be sure, but judging by his height the man she'd pulled aside did.

I don't know how these people expect to get paid, she thought, annoyed. I'm not leaving a tip, that's one thing for sure. She made her way back to the bar to ask for another glass of water, since her old one had made a mysterious disappearance.

The bartender grunted to show that he'd heard her, then proceeded to pour an alcoholic drink for the man who'd shown up immediately after her.

She sighed, wondering whether this little break was even worth it. I might as well just get back to the job, if these people aren't even going to get me my water.

Vega stood up and resigned herself to the fact that her break was over. On her way toward the door, she heard a comment by a young man about this "filthy establishment," not made to her, but not yet answered. Though usually reluctant to interrupt peoples' conversations, her annoyance broke through the surface this time. "Ugh," she said, her grip on her walking stick tightening. "Filthy is hardly a strong enough description."

OOC:Meh... just trying to throw her in there any way I can... XD

Zaris smirked. "Amen, sister," she said playfully to Vega, but she was still turned towards Jidat. Her eyes seemed to tease him somehow. To Jidat, she added, "I guess I'm enjoying it well enough. I'm just here to wait for someone."

She turned to look at the woman who had spoken. Hm, she's blind, she observed, seeing the walking stick. But she seems to get around just as well as a seeing person... interesting.

She turned back around and pointed to the offending bartender. "You. Come here."

He shuffled over, and looked everywhere but her eyes. This was probably because of their freaky, horizontal pupils. "What?"

"I believe this woman asked you for a glass of water."

"...Yes."

"Did she get this glass of water?"

"N-no." He gulped.

"Well then, why don't you get it? That's your job, now isn't it?" Zaris' face was perfectly calm, but her soft voice was full of menace.

He walked back, filled a glass of water, then rushed it to Vega. "Hereyougothankyou," he muttered, shuffling back to the bar.

-------

Eragus masked his force, and closed in on Tegal. "What do you plan to do," he muttered to himself, noticing that he was not far from Zaris and several other Force users. "She probably hasn't Felt him because of the strong Users close around her confounding her senses..." He thought for a moment. I guess I'll have to call her and warn her, he thought, wincing.

OOC:Zaris knows all kinds of trickery and persuasion that don't use force. Eragus insisted she be schooled in the basics.

My next post will open with Eragus calling Zaris on her comunit... Gonna give you guys time to reply to Zaris first...

Vega accepted the water and took a seat beside Zaris, amused at her... unconventional methods of persuasion. Vega was no stranger to fear and its many uses, but she was never eager to use it. Intimidation wasn't always worth the consequences, not when your job was as, ah, diplomatic as hers was.

"Thank you," she said, smiling in that way of hers that usually caused friendless crime lords to momentarily forget that they were friendless and crime lords. "Perhaps I'll stay, then. Not for long, of course-- you'll have to excuse me eventually. I've got someone waiting for me, but they can certainly wait a few minutes longer."

OOC: To everyone, I went ahead and got rid of the whole hacking/droid dealio. I changed my previous posts to make up for it, but look back at them if you wish.

"Maybe I should meditate a moment, and see if I can pick up anymore force users about." With that being thought of, the dark man began to do so, and picked up even more.

"Amazing. So many so close together... Yet, something troubles me. Why no conflict?" Tegal began to wonder why so many Force users were within that one building, but nothing was being done. "Maybe I can play this to my advantage. If Eragus encounters me any time soon, his aura will surely be given off to the one's inside. All I'd have to do then is flee, and let Eragus deal with them... but, then I will have to destroy him before I can kill Jidat."

Tegal crossed his arms over his chest, then shook his head to his thoughts. "This will never work... I must wait."

Tegal meditated to completely remove his presence, and made his way to the edge of the roof. Waiting. Observing. The time for destruction was drawing near.

OOC:mine's here, because i'm posting at the same time. The real issue I have here deals with the fact that i'm not sure where you would have learned how to hack droids...you were an assassin, yes, but assassins don't necessarily have to hack. Especially one with a lightsaber. You wouldn't have to spike your way through doors or reprogram droids. I cite KOTOR as a basis for my claim, and it has been accepted in the star wars canon. Basically, if you make a soldier, hacking is a cross class skill, and much more difficult to effectively learn. Scoundrels excel at it, but it would be rare for anyone but a scoundrel to know that skill. It just wouldn't have a use. Soldiers don't hack because they don't need to hack.

Now, let's say, for arguements sake, you still wanted to use the droids in your posts. Perhaps they are being operated from a console or controller. Some, but few droids are like that. I'd be willing to let that one slide. It fits more to the attitude of a sith, striking from a safe distance, but close enough to watch. I don't know what you wnat to do, though, so you may just end up dropping the droids. Hell, more likely, you could just rob a freaking droid store, or an "armory" that had assassin droids, which is much more useful.

Anyway, that's my two cents. :D

Yuuki stepped out of the hoverlift, hardly slowing to see if Kylin was following. This aura simply shouldn't exist, but yet here it was, and Yuuki remembered well the trouble that one caused before. He had brought the lift up to the landing platform, and flagged down a airtaxi and opened the door. He then turned back and motioned for Kylin to get in, and then jumped in himself. He then closed his eyes and focused. He would need to focus on the auras to have the cab turn as needed.

Zaris smiled back, genuinely. She recognised a fellow player when she saw one. "You're welcome."

She sighed. "I understand. I'm in the same situation, except I'm the one waiting." She laughed a little and shrugged. "So yeah, I guess I've got some time to kill. Talk my head off."

Her comunit buzzed in her pocket. Zaris quickly turned it off before Eragus could broadcast to the whole damn pub and blow her cover. Whatever it was could wait a few minutes until she could excuse herself to 'go to the restroom.'

"Th' name's Ari, nice to meet you."

-------

Eragus stared at his comlink, then peeked over the ledge, looking down and far away to where a black speck--Tegal--was. He cursed the comunit, God, and Zaris. "She'd better pick up soon," he mumbled testily, reclining back down on the gravel ground, head propped up on a small box.

-------

Kylin followed Yuuki into the cab. She was silent, to allow him to concentrate on locating the aura. She had a hard time sensing auras when she was suppressing Her, and so she just stared out the window, waiting.

Except for that when the cab passed by dark-colored buildings, she could see Her smirking face. She was about to turn forward, away from Her, when She mouthed something. 'My name is Cassandra.'
She sat there, waiting for Kylin to ask something.

'Why did you give yourself this name?' Kylin mouthed. It must have been the right question, because Cassandra decided to answer.

Cassandra grinned wider. 'Because it means something significant. Something we both do, as we are one and the same.'

'What?'

'Cassandra is our true name, or my true name, as you would like to see it. And it means She Who Entangles Men.' Cassandra vanished like smoke, and Kylin tried to tell herself that what had just happened had not.

We can't be the same being, she's my opposite! A multiple personality, maybe, Kylin thought.

OOC:Reminds me of Niki/Jessica from HEROES, that's why I gave Her a name. But I had this idea long before Heroes, so it's rather funny that I came up with the same idea for a characters' power as someone else on my own, basically. xD

I actually don't know whether Cassandra is a multiple personality or what. She could be a manifestation of Kylin's suppressed power, or destiny or something..... :O

"ha i guess some things just come naturally" said Xavior after Jidat trailed off. then for the first time really noticing the girl next to him since Jidat turned to her finally noticed her force presence, though he didint really know what to make of it. but seeing as he was glad to see Jidat again and felt comfortable in his ability to handle any trouble that could occur in his present situation he let the thought pass. looking to Zaris who had now declared her self Ari, Xavior said, "Hello Ari, i am Xavior Kajath"

She nodded her head regally in acknowledgement of Ari's introduction, and Xavior's. "Vega," she said simply, leaving off her last name not out of paranoia, but habit. She had long ago learned that there were rules to the game and there were guidelines, and those who were smart followed both.

Rule: Always introduce yourself. It was terribly impolite to attempt to conduct business without a proper introduction, not to mention that it made things confusing when you were faced with several clients and you knew the names of precisely zero of them.

Guideline: When introducing yourself, don't give more information than the other person gives. Some things just don't need to be out in the open. A thief, for example, does not run around proclaiming himself to be a thief, and as long as he doesn't trumpet his faults too loudly he can still get along all right.

Vega, too, could spot a fellow player with little difficulty, and knew which questions not to ask. Such as the nature of Ari's... waiting. What she was waiting for. Why she was waiting.

There were no rules forbidding these questions, but to ask them would make things difficult.

Guideline: Don't make things difficult.

"Intersting part of town, isn't it?" she said, returning the smile that she hadn't actually seen on Ari's face. "I suppose one gets used to it eventually." She took a sip of the water that Ari had been kind enough to get for her. "Not exactly a spot I'd choose for a vacation... but business first, right?"

OOC: woo... not sure what's goin' on anymore o_O

Jidat was not so fortunate as Vega had been to learn either the rules or guidelines of galactic survival -- much less both. He had managed to scrape by following his instincts, and didn't have any particular plan to change his ways. It was probably not the best way to live, and certainly not the safest, but Jidat was not interested in such trivial matters as "safety" and "tomorrow's breakfast." After all, he was what the Jedi Council would probably classify as a "rogue Jedi" and was living -- not to mention training -- right under their collective, stuck-up noses. Anyway, as the moment he didn't mind leaving off his name unless specifically asked.

The Shadow found himself interested in the woman who introduced herself as Vega. Rather, he was interested in the force power bubbling inside of her. From that short distance, he could clearly feel her potential. Indeed, he noted that she seemed to be quite attuned tot he force already. Though he had a feeling that it wasn't academy training, necessarily, it was clear that she was not to be underestimated.

"Interesting, eh?" Jidat said, his tone light and playful. "You must have some sense, then. Not like the snobs from the highest levels. Most of them wouldn't come near this place for anything -- afraid the air itself is dirty enough to get dust on their shoes or something. Any particularly interesting business?"

OOC:lol, me neither. IT LIVES!!! Omigosh.

Rule: Answer the question, lest you pique someone's curiosity-- curiosity leads to more questions., and besides, it's only polite.

"Nothing terribly interesting," said Vega, setting her glass back down. The smile still played about her lips. She remained facing Ari; she could tell that the man's voice was coming from one side, but it made little difference to her whether she was facing him or not. "A few people got into a bit of a scrape with the... snobs, as you put them." She shrugged. "I'm just here to straighten things out. You know, keep everything... civil."

Guideline: You don't always have to tell the absolute truth.

And the air was, she thought, rather dirty enough to get dirt on her shoes. But that was all a part of the business, so she kept her mouth shut about it.

"A pleasure to meet you," she said, finally turning toward him, "Mr..."

"Oh don't call me 'Mister.' My father is called 'Mister.' You may call me Jidat." he spoke cheerfully, finding himself unexpectedly happy to finally be having a decent conversation. The closest he had to a conversation where he currently lived was, "Man, it sure was a busy day, huh?" "Yeah, whatever," or "Ever consider at least cleaning the rags?" "Heck no, you crazy?" Yes, it probably was about time for Jidat to make his way to some place a bit more interesting.

"Sounds like you do some interesting work," the shadow master said. "At any rate, it's bound to be more interesting than what I do here -- which is basically nothing, actually."

Vega laughed and adjusted the band on her veil, which was beginning to slip from the top of her head. "I suppose so, if you consider diplomacy interesting. Most people don't." She had fended off questions about the nature of her work more times than she could count, and was getting good at it. "It's a lot of running back and forth. You know, he-said-she-said kind of things. People get upset over the most petty things. You'd be surprised."

She tilted her head to one side, feeling the mass of customers through the Force. They didn't seem like the most refined crowd, that was certain. "Then again," she said slowly, "maybe you wouldn't."

Jidat glanced back at the bar, considering it deliberately before turning back to face the woman in the veil. He couldn't be sure, but he had a strong suspicion that she didn't care to let him know the nature of her work. But, that didn't bother the Shadow Master. In his various dealings, he'd met enough people like that to be used to it.

"Eh, that's hard to say," he said vaguely, scratching his chin. "I've had a few run-ins with diplomacy myself, actually. Nothing too in-depth -- I'm sure you've seen more 'he-said-she-said' type things than I, but I can sympathize with the headaches." Jidat paused for a moment, reflecting. If his suspicions were correct, their respective versions of diplomacy were probably quite different. A playful smile crept upon his face as he said, "Then again, maybe I can't."

OOC:I have no idea where Kylin is. Thanks, Boots. :P

PS. Chris, feel free to have Vega go "Uncle?! D:"
or whatever we decided the relation was >__> It was so long ago I've forgotten...

Eragus looked down at Tegal, and made a decision he knew he'd regret... but to him, it was worth it. He forced his Force presence down to a somewhat normal level, and got in the elevator. If he could have jumped over to the other roof and dispatched Tegal, he would have. But he was only human, and the gap was too wide.

--

Zaris turned her head towards the door, growing bored of Jidat and Vega's banter. The silhouette reflected through the frosted glass of the door was unmistakable...
She was so surprised that her eyes returned to their normal orange-red. "Excuse me," she said, leaving her seat and going outside.
She shut the door, and then said to Eragus. "What the hell are you doing? Do you know how many Force users are on the other side of that door that want to kill us both?"

Eragus put a finger on her lips, smiling. "If you had just answered your damn comlink, this wouldn't be an issue."

"But..." She sighed. "Well, I guess you wouldn't have come unless it was really important."

"That's the understatement of the century," He replied. "Dearest Tegal's on the roof, and it looks like he's planning to take out everyone inside in a blaze of glory."

"Damn...!"

"I had to get you out of there." He said, as gently as he knew how. "Now, let's go and take out that sonuvabitch. I think he actually split one of my hairs the last time we fought."

She smiled, then said, "Wait, wait, no! You can't!! The whole bar's full of..." She was talking to air, and a swinging door. "Shit!" She exclaimed, chasing after him.

OOC:gonna stop there to give you guys time to reply and stuff.
