A lone man stood precariously on the edge of a tall building, looking out across the city-planet. The high-altitude winds visciouly attacked his long robes, hoping to catch hold and pull him from his perch, but he didn't move an inch. He watched the city as a child looking at a playground. He could scarcely call it his "home," but didn't mind calling it a "toy." Of course, he wasn't so full of himself as to say he owned it -- that was a privelege he left to crimelords and bureaucrats. In the past months, the man had variously played anonymous savior, "Robin Hood," and security guard. Today, however, he was training. The spiritual balance he had achieved had helped his skills greatly, and meditation therafter had taught him many things as well. However, he knew that while many things could be accomplished through training the mind, certain other things could only be accomplished through training the body. Thus, he stood atop the precipice, staring fate in the eyes. Though he was sure he could survive a fall -- even from the meager amount of training he'd had at the academy, he knew how to slow a fall enough to ricochet off some cars with relative safety and roll onto a building, sustaining only a few injuries -- he wanted to try something different. "Why," he theorized, "shouldn't the force enable me to cling to a sheer wall?" It made sense enough. He'd never seen it done, but wondered, if it could be used for propulsion, why not for the opposite effect? So, figuring that the best way to force his body to learn would be to put it in a situation that might entail some risk, and to go for it. Mentally prepared at last, he took a deep, cleansing breath, leaned forward, and fell. Though he was tempted to admire the breeze -- it was a particularly hot day, after all -- he knew what he had to do. He twisted and reoriented himself -- head-first was not a good idea in any case. Then, he just reached out with the force and with his limbs. He touched the slick metal and withdrew his hand quickly. Friction, right. This time, he put his foot against the metal, taking advantage of his shoes to prevent pain. He again began to mold the force about him, slowing his speed and pulling him towards the building. It seemed to be working! BEEP! The man's senses helped him narrowly avoid an up-close encounter with a passing taxi. That in mind, he returned to the task at hand with doubled focus. His velocity slowed much faster this time, and soon was at the point where he could place his hand on the metal without rubbing his skin off. Presently, he was motionless. "Excellent," he said aloud. Now, the trick was staying on the building. So far, he seemed to be doing well. But, he still needed to get back up. At first, he tried crawling -- it seemed to make the most sense and to be the safest. Of course, he wasn't worried about safety. Carefully, he placed the sole of one foot against the building, then the other. Then, he removed his hands, and straightened out. It was an awkward feeling, but lasted only for a moment -- after that, he was falling again. He actually laughed, and noted that he would need much greater concentration to pull that off. He turned around, braced himself, and landed with a soft "thud" on a passing car. Not waiting to get yelled at, he leapt off and used the force to float over to a convenient landing platform on the side of his building. He smiled at a human who was just getting ready to board a taxi, waved enthusiastically, then turned to enter the building. OOC: bla bla bla... people can start wherever, and i'm sure we'll meet up eventually, haha. |

His yellow, freakish eyes were as cold as ever, but a large grin spread across his face. "Hmf, the idiot thinks he's getting somewhere," he laughed. Zaris, walking beside him, nodded in amusement. She was wearing a different outfit now, a robe that faded from bright red to dark mulberry at the bottom, underneath a long, black coat with a hood. They had aged little in the past few years, unusual considering what the dark side usually did to people.
After Kylin and the other Jedi had stopped their attempt on the Senate a while back, they had been forced into hiding. Forced to lurk in the shadows and lick their wounds. And if there was one thing that Eragus and Zaris hated, it was waiting. But, waiting had afforded them more time to plan, more time to train. And when they made their re-appearance, they would be more of a threat than ever. --- Kylin woke up late. She knew she was late by the fact that Master Windu was standing over her with an unhappy expression. "Your class has been waiting for an hour while you slept," he said, frowning. "Um, oops?" Windu shook his head, and pulled a sensory assault alarm clock from behind his back. He gave it to her, saying, "Use it, Miss Kylin, or I'm afraid you will be back pulling weeds and scrubbing toilets." She saluted him. "Yes, Sir!" He smiled. "Now, make yourself presentable. I don't care what you look like when you take care of the gardens, but when you're teaching, you must remember that you are setting a precedent for your pupils." "Yes, Sir," she said, nodding. She's really settled down in the past few years, Windu thought as he turned and walked away. I still wouldn't trust her to go out into the universe with an apprentice... but for a different reason. Kylin showered and dressed herself. She looked in the mirror as she was fixing her hair, and took a good look. She wished she hadn't. She was in the mirror, staring back at her and smiling sweetly. A smile like poisoned honey. She was Not-Kylin. The one with the vermilion eyes that burned so hot they could peel paint off walls. The animal that lurked beneath Kylin's own skin. Kylin ripped her eyes away from her deadly gaze, and forced herself not to shatter the mirror in fright. She instead covered it with a blanket. Kylin knew this was futile, but did it anyways. It afforded her some small bit of comfort. She calmed herself, slowing her breathing and heart rate back to normal. Then, she walked down the hall, and out into the courtyard, where her class was waiting impatiently. "Sorry," she said, smiling and shrugging, "I slept through the alarm again!" The Padawan moaned, "Again?" She shrugged again. "Anyways! Today we will be learning about the Jedi Civil War..." Kylin lectured, referring to her little note cards periodically. Another Jedi stood past the gaggle of children, behind a large stone column. Kylin knew why he was there, even though Windu or anyone else had never formally told her. He wasn’t there to guard her from the Sith. He was there to guard the children from her. OOC:Boots--it's up to you whether the dude waiting behind the column is Yuuki or not.
Kylin/Shiraz/Eragus: Back and More Messed Up Than Ever! *brightsmile* Kylin still is a little goofy, but as Windu noticed, her laughs are few and far between anymore. Note: Shiraz is the only one with a costume change. At least, for now. I may change Kylin's, but Eragus is staying the same. However, Kylin has a change of lightsabers: she now has an orange single/double lightsaber. (Kylin lost the old one to Tegal, remember? That's why she's got a new one) *Note: I've been going back and removing Kylin's contractions--diction mirroring her change and all that. |

Vega stepped back. The strange young man landed on a nearby car and bounced off, right toward the spot where she'd been standing just a moment ago. Show-off, she grumbled inwardly, ignoring his wave and stepping back toward her waiting taxi. The taxi driver, however, had been slightly more surprised by the Incredible Flying Jedi. He sped off with a loud curse, shouting something about property damage. "...damn lucky that wasn't my car, you stinkin--" was all Vega caught, before she turned away and primly placed her fingers in her ears. By the time she took them out, the man was far gone. He'd taken her ride with him. She grumbled something about overcautious taxi drivers and attempted to call another cab. They were all full, it seemed; apparently people actually had somewhere to go today. Well, that was all right. She could always wait until things calmed down a bit. It wasn't anything terribly urgent, anyway. They were paying her, after all, and she didn't even like them much. If those criminals were that impatient, they could always find someone else to go brutalize the poor spice dealers; Vega had enough offers lined up not to care. From the sounds and smells emerging from the building behind her, it was a bar or something of the kind, at least on the first level. Having nothing better to do for the time being, Vega turned around and entered the building. OOC:Uh... you didn't specify what the building was, did you? I wasn't sure. >< |

Far beneath the earth where none could know. Standing within a cavern of darkness where only a single ray of light shone upon a makeshift coffin, a figure donned a Dark Jedi uniform; his cape, tattered and torn, draped lifelessly over his shoulders and behind his form. A worn hood laid upon his head, but there was no expression to be exposed on this man's face, for black silk concealed his identity. Upon this black visage was a cracked and worn ritual Sith mask. The mask exposed where the eyes, mouth, and forehead would reside, but the darkness of the material under it would hide them regardless. It was obvious however, that the figure was looking at the coffin before him. It had been opened and it's insides emptied, but the stains of dried blood still resided from that fateful day. Engraved upon the coffin were many markings of ancient curses, and marks of shame. Whoever was inside must had failed to fulfill his purpose... ... and had returned. The dark figure's gaze broke from the coffin and down to his forearms, where he studied the once destroyed weapon of his. Once a double-bladed lightsaber set with one of the rarest white crystal's destroyed, now anew. Two single-bladed saber's mounted to black metallic bracers around the figure's forearms. When unleashed, the sabers are used almost like ninja claws. Having used them in many of his recent killings, he had longed to test them on an old acquaintance. He had been waiting a long time to exact his revenge, and what better place to start where it all began. Suddenly, something shocked the senses of the dark man's mind as he glanced upward quickly. "That presence... It has to be..." If the man's face were exposed, a smirk would be seen as he quickly turned about and vanished into the darkness of the underground; giving off an eerie chuckle that echoed and faded as he left his exiled tomb. OOC: I'm sure you guys know who this is. The history behind him is he was put in prison by Jidat and his companions and tortured. Eventually he escaped but was hunted down by the Sith and 'killed'. They buried him in an underground cavern with not-so-happy farewell. With the growing angry inside him, he eventually overcame the injuries he acquired, and began his hunt on killing those who tried to destroy him. That's why he has the outfit he has now, just to clear that up. Any probs, let me know. |

And... that's it :)
Oh yeah, it's basically a bar, and is where he "works" (I use the term loosely) "Ya know, Katsu," fumbled a large, greasy alien who appeared to be a bartender, "you'd think Ah'd be used to you'se leavin' out theh roof'n comin' in the front door by now, but Ah sure ain't." He paused, as though saying even that was taxing on his brain, grabbed a dirty mug and an even dirtier rag with one of his several tentacle-like apendages, and then continued: "Youse sho' you ain't some kinda Jedi or somethin'?" "Haha, me?" Jidat laughed, surveying the bar for any potential trouble-makers. "The time a Jedi looks for employment in a dive like this is the time when you actually clean your mugs." "Har har har.... True, and funny, as always!" the bartender responded, heartily laughing as he picked up another dirty mug. "You know me, Katsu', Ah can't be bother with no soap! Har har har...." With that, he turned around and sauntered off to attend a customer. Jidat rolled his eyes -- he really needed to find someone with an IQ higher than that of the drinks they served. Though the room seemed quiet enough, the Shadow had an odd feeling like something interesting was about to happen. Though he always trusted his instincts, he couldn't tell exactly what was the source of his growing excitement. He adjusted his worn old robes, making sure his lightsabers were still with him. OOC: hmm... yeah. nothing else to say |

Then again, it wasn't that she was short, it was just that the Tanokian behind her was a good head taller. However, the first towered over the last member of the company as the wrinkly, green midget shuffled in after them.
"Well, it's good ter be back in the city,"[/color:5c374a821b] Pyne said, sitting at their usual booth by the door. There were two main reasons for sitting in the open. First of all, only shadey suspicous people sat in the corner. If one sat in a dark corner, everyone knew they are probably up to no good. Second, it was easier and faster to get out in case trouble showed up. Trouble usually showed up. "Yeah, it's great,"[/color:5c374a821b] Maverick said dryly as she sat down, and instinctively pulled Zhi up onto the bench next to her. His chin barely cleared the table. "We need to get a job, and fast. Ssilliss is going to have our hydes pinned to the wall."[/color:5c374a821b] "Don' be silly, Rick. Ye'd clash terribly wit' 'is decor,"[/color:5c374a821b] Pyne wrinkled her nose in distaste at the thought as she played with a fork. Rick was the name she used for when Maverick had to play a guy, but she also used it as a nickname. "Pyne, I'm serious,"[/color:5c374a821b] Maverick rolled her eyes. "I at least want to get off snakehead's 'Must Kill Immediately' list. I'm to young to die. I still have many hours of my life a want to waste on being lazy."[/color:5c374a821b] "Once yer on the list, ye don't get off it. Unless ye've got the wealth of an entire planet. Just accept it already: We're screwed,"[/color:5c374a821b] She smirked as her partner sighed in surrender and faceplanted into the table. "Yer face is gonna get infected."[/color:5c374a821b] "Just get me my usual and shut up,"[/color:5c374a821b] Maverick said, refusing to remove her forehead from the table's surface. "Say please,"[/color:5c374a821b] Pyne taunted. The mechanic flicked her left ear; it was the Honerin's rudest geusture. "Good enoof," [/color:5c374a821b]shrugged the Tanokian. "What about ye, Zhi? Zhi?"[/color:5c374a821b] she raised an eyebrow, and tilted her head to look at him. He appeared to be meditaing... but he could just be sleeping. However, Pyne didn't want to be the one to disturb him, so she let him be. "Why d' they even 'ave forks?"[/color:5c374a821b] Pyne wondered outloud, examining the fork and scraping some unknown, dried substance off the fork with her claw-like nails. "Does anyone eva orda food 'ere?"[/color:5c374a821b] OOC:Hmm... Pyne has a wierd accent... I didn't know that... |

It was nicer than their former one, and Zaris liked the deck it had around front, a perfect place to view the whole city at once. She also enjoyed seeing the sky through the skylights.
She took off her heavy cloak, and reclined on the couch, reading a book on infiltration tactics intently. Eragus, however, did not take off his coat. “There’s something I want to check out…” he said, frowning pensively. “That man we saw… and the powers we felt in that area, correct?” Zaris said with a smirk. “Yes, you catch on quite quickly, don’t you?” Eragus said, chuckling. His frown had changed to a smile. Zaris shrugged. “Hm, well, I’m sure nothing interesting will happen. Go on without me.” “As you wish,” Eragus said coyly. Then suddenly, a flicker of light from below. Followed by another, soon only to light up a dim hallway in which the masked man walked through. The hall was underground, and the walls were rock and soil. Various holes lined the earthen walls; used as compartments to hold various equipment and weaponry the Sith had come acrossed, or taken. The floor was made of stone and had small spotlights rigged near where it met the walls.
Amongst the many holes in the wall, only two had been deprived of their treasures; a modified frag mine, and a handheld binary overwriter. Placing these items within his dark uniform, the Sith made his way to the exit of his former grave. Raising his hand, he manages to lift and move a hefty boulder before him; unveiling the exit. A faint orange light poured in weakly from the setting sun, only to be taken away from the dark hallway as the Sith left the place and concealed the forgotten tomb once more. It was almost like a nightmare below the tall buildings above. A fog settled maybe thirty feet from the ground. The homeless, sick, and poor could be seen within certain parts of this slum, but not where the Sith were buried. The poor all knew never to traverse the Sith's ground, and always made sure to raid the bodies of their own when it came to survival. The burial grounds were barren, quiet, and always lifeless. An estimated mile to the east of where the Sith stood was an outdated and ancient power generator. From it, pipes and dead powerlines cascaded upwards to many of the outdated buildings. That is where the Sith could ascend. "I'm coming for you..." The masked man whispered to himself silently. Making a small running start, the dark figure used a force jump to traverse the cemetary swiftly on his way to the power generator. OOC: I don't really know if that's how the lands are below because they never really explain what it's like below on the ground of Coruscant in the movies (or books, I believe). I just kinda imagined something from the likes of Final Fantasy 7. If someone does know what it's like below, lemme know and I'll fix it if needed. :P |

"Hmph," he said, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. He pulled out his comlink and pressed the talk button. "Zaris!"
"Yes, Master?" "Nap time's over. Our good friend Tegal's back." "Jeez, he's like a gorram cockroach!" "Hah, true, true. He just can't seem to stay dead no matter what we do." He paused. And I want to know how the hell he did it, he thought, face screwing up in an evil scowl. Before I have the delight of dismembering him. "Do you want me to eliminate him, Master Eragus?" "No, no dear. Actually, I'd prefer to deal with him myself. But, can you check out this eating establishment... I'm sending you the coordinates. There's a rather large concentration of Force, rather strange." "Hm, okay, I'll see what's up. Play nice with Tegal, now." "Hehe, I'll try." Eragus hung up, face twisted into an evil, demonic grin. His pupils had shrunken to mere pinpricks. "I'll cerrrrrtainly try," he cackled, leaping in great bounds toward Tegal with the aid of the Force. ------- A storm was coming, and fast. "Well, sorry to wrap up class so early, but I would not want us all to get soaked!" Kylin said with a smile and a shrug. The Padawan, however, were delighted. They ran inside wildly, drunken with the glee of free time. After the last of her students left, Kylin walked over to the covered walkway where the guardian was. And then promptly burst into tears. 'Heh, you never were one to overlook things, were you Eragus?' He thought to himself, using another force jump to grapple a dead powerline. Kicking his legs upward, Tegal flipped upward swiftly; allowing himself to fly freely through the air and land on one of the outdated building's balconies. From there, he made another jump onto a pipe that protruded from the building. With another jump, he founded himself on top of the structure. It wasn't the tallest building around, but neither was it the shortest.
The sky was darkening, and lights could be observed all about from the various skyscrapers. Tegal adjusted his tattered cloak and hood, then turned about to face where he felt Eragus. He wasn't in sight quite yet, but he could be felt like a hot knife through butter. At least to those of Dark alignment. Tegal walked quickly over to a ventilation shaft, and ripped it open. "Two minutes should do. If I'm not finished by then, this will at least get rid of him." Setting the timer on the explosive, Tegal placed the mine within the vent, and closed it. The mine wasn't exactly a thermal detonator, but it could easily wipe away anything on top of the building Tegal was on. Stepping away from the shaft, Tegal kneeled on the ground in wait of Eragus. Maybe the fool will realize that the Dark Side has grown greatly within Tegal since his supposed death. |

His worn-down bootheels clipped steadily on the rooftop. He eyed the ventilation shaft where Tegal had placed the explosive moments before, guessing that he had hidden something dangerous there. But, it's not an imminent threat, and he's lost the element of surprise, Eragus thought, So it's pretty much harmless. Except... I don't know what it is, and if or when it will go off. Hmph.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Tegal," Eragus said, chuckling. "I thought I killed you well enough last time, bitch." He put his hand underneath his chin in the classic 'Thinker' position, and said, "My, the Dark Side has grown in you. But, you'd best be careful to master it before it rules you." He smiled mock-sadly. "Or is it too late already?" ------- Zaris decided it might not be so good to just go out in her Sith attire when she was trying to blend in. So, she changed into a cream-colored robe, with a light brown collar. She pulled on cream loose pants, and tucked them into calfskin boots of the same color of her collar. Zaris took her lightsabers off and put them away. She would not need them. Instead, the only things she took with her were her wallet and the comlink. Last, but not least, she concentrated hard, squinching her eyes up. Underneath the lids, the iris changed from its unnatural orange back to its naitive color: a greenish brown. She opened her eyes. "Hm. Wait." She was forgetting to mask her clearly evil Force presence. So, she meditated for a few minutes, bringing it to a miniscule level that only someone of Eragus' strength could recognize. "Now I'm ready." She left her building, called a taxi, and rode over to the location on her comunit--a real greasy spoon type. Hnh, she thought, this looks like one of those places that's too cheap to even use soap. Just great. Zaris pushed through the doors and entered, sitting down at the bar. OOC:1. "I don't know." He said, not knowing what else to say. "Can't you feel it, though? The tension in the air, the weight? Darkness has surfaced again, and somewhere nearby. Several powerful dark entities are on the move." He took a few steps until he had passed the sobbing Kylin and stopped, not facing her. What he last had to say made no sense what so ever, at least to what Tegal had experienced in the embrace of Death itself. After a moment, his head turned to look to his side, opposite the mine in the ventilation shaft.
"One minute, thirty five seconds..." "Child's play..." He finally muttered, "You can't begin to comprehend what power lies in the Dark Side. You are but a mere novice to the true ways of the Darkness and the Force." Tegal adjusted his legs to sit with both knees on the ground; his clenched fists resting upon each knee. "You would only know in Death itself. Then, whether you have the strength to return or not, only then will you understand... But you aren't here to gather my knowledge now are you?"
