Amelia finally sat up and looked at the clock after hours of lying in bed awake. 9:48 AM exactly.

It was a typical summer morning, a warm breeze swaying trees and her neighbor's windchime. A beautiful day.

But, Amelia didn't plan on going out side today.

She got out of bed stiffly, straightened her PJs, and combed her hair into a ponytail. Not worth bothering any further.

Amelia sat down at her cluttered desk, and began to dig around. She unearthed a wireless laptop and a VR headset, both a dark gunmetal.

She turned on the laptop after balancing it over her history book. It took a while to boot, but once it was done, she clicked on the SilverHearts icon.
It paused at a black screen, with the words:"Please put on your VR headset now."

Amelia did so, adjusting the headphones and visor just so. When she had it right, a male voice whispered in her ear, "Which server?"

She spoke into the microphone, "Teltreon!" and she was immediately whisked away.
[/color:f872c29893]

Amelia, now in her avatar, Vendetta, looked around at where she had left off last summer. The level 5-10 training grounds, Tetoku Plains. Mostly golden grass and scrubby trees, very few monsters.

Amelia spun Vendetta around, as if seeing her for the first time, flaming red hair, forest green eyes, lime green tank top, and white baggy pants tucked into riding boots.

"I forgot how much I loved this game after 6 months..." she lamented. "I believe I was about level 10 when I quit, so maybe I should stay here a while."

Vendetta spotted a Rasas, a level-6 antelope beast, grazing near a low tree. She stalked it, and attacked when the time was right, swinging her scythe in a long arc. The Rasas, startled, leapt out of the way to safety.

"I guess it HAS been a while..." she said sadly.

OOC:I have no clue what I'm doing... I hope that's not a problem.

"Soo boored," moaned Mo as she lied on her bed with a book lying open on her face. Then she allowed A Walk In the Woods to slip out of her hand and fall to the floor of her room. "Bill Bryson needs a life! Heck, I need to get a life!" She rolled off her bed and went downstairs.

Her younger brother was importing songs onto his library, but she kicked him off the computer. She found her headset, and logged into Silverhearts. Mo plugged the head set in and put it on her head when the screen told her to.

"Which server?" whispered a familiar voice.

"Teltreon," she shrugged as she too was whisked into the world. [/color:7fac0b2003]

Mo saw her avatar, Jezebelle Mayakani, and smiled. Jezebelle was her first charcter she created, and enjoyed using her in the fantasy roleplays. Her character was dressed modestly in a black shirt and pants, soft brown leather boots, and a worn, brown cape concealed her katana. There were plenty of other knives and other weapons hidden on her person; she was after all an assassin/spy for hire.

Jezebelle's cold, steely eyes swept over the Tetoku Plains as a breeze tugged at her light brown, shoulder-length hair. A smirk tugged at her lips and she swept over silently to Vendetta. "Good day to you, Vendetta," she said in the same cool tone she used with practically everyone. "Looks like you've lost your touch."

Kurokaze was getting tired of this. Every time he walked into this bar, which had been his favorite, this bloody dwarf always wanted to prove he could out drink the elf. Fine. Another headache and bar tab for Fredegar, and another free round for Kurokaze.

"No pixie little elf can out drink a dwarf!" Fredegar roared, finishing his 14th mug. Kurokaze rolled his eyes. He knew the dwarf had taken the potion that warded alcohol effects away for many hours, and that normally would cause Kurokaze to end up with the bill and the splitting headache. However, it was not to be for the unlucky dwarf, as Kurokaze had slipped a potion into the dwarf's last ale that would neutralize that potion. The dwarf was still grinning as he took another mug, drank it...and promptly crashed backward into the floor. Shadows swept a random mug from the table and took it with him to a more private corner as the onlookers crowded around the drunk and downed dwarf. He quaffed a small amount, and then sat in the corner table as he often did after these drinking fights.

OOC:yeah...whatever works, i guess. i see little problem with creating a new virus or something, it always seems to help. :P

OOC:yay, 3 people!!

"Yeah, well..." sighed Vendetta, not really having a comeback. "Nice to see you too, Jezebelle. It's been a while."

She thought about training with her, but quickly dismissed the idea. She was already embarrassed enough. Suddenly, she had an epiphany.

"Hey, there's a town nearby with a bar. Wanna go grab a drink?" Vendetta chuckled with a devil-may-care smile.

OOC:Hey Boots, are you RPing 2 charas, Kurokaze and Shadows? If so, that last post left me confused as to who did what, and who Shadows is. >_<

"You know I don't drink," Jezebelle sniffed indignantly. "But I'll accompany you into town anyway. Besides, I'm hungry." She turned away from Vendetta and started walking to the town.

"You'll have to pay though," she said dryly over her shoulder. "I haven't had a job for a couple of months now, and I'm out of money." It wasn't true, she had money, but she didn't like to pay for a meal unless she had to.

When they reached the loud and crowded streets of the town, Jezebelle breathed in deeply. "Ah, the corruption of it all," the assassin sighed contently. "Just think of it it Vendetta, right at this moment 15 people are being swindled, 20 are dabbling in smuggling goods, at least 30 people are plotting to murder a person for their personal gain, around 10 are being murdered, and half the town is drunk, or stoned. Then the few that are left are either eating off of fine china and getting fat, or sleeping in the streets with empty stomachs. Civilization is such a wretched thing. It's quite refreshing after being in the middle of nowhere for so long, don't you agree?"

OOC: boots probably just forgot what his name was halfway through the post, GB XD

Digits leaned back in his chair, twirling his wireless keyboard on his index finger idly. He adjusted his frameless glasses and then placed his hand behind his head. He stared idly at the ceiling, finding a great deal of interest in his ceiling. From the corner of his eye he noted some seemingly incomprehensible lines of text which scrolled rather quickly along a smaller flatscreen monitor on his desk. This monitor was adjacent to another, slightly larger monitor which had sixteen boxes in it, each of which had a view from within the Silverhearts game. Mounted above this was a much smaller monitor, perhaps ten inches across. This monitor was was blank, except for the words "None" at the very top. Another monitor was to the right of the middle one with the sixteen views, the same size as the one on the left. This one, however, was turned off at the time.

Something apparently caught the young man's attention, as he moved his left hand from behind his head to grab the keyboard and put it on the tray as he swiveled around to face the monitor on the left. He grinned slightly, then grabbed a special, two-of-a-kind wireless headset from a drawer on the side of his desk. As he grabbed this, he switched on the monitor on the right. He tapped a spot on the monitor and a slightly electronic-sounding female voice emerged from some unseen speakers.

"Voice command initiated; you know the deal." Digits couldn't help but smile at the ingenuity of his own programming before responding, at the same time as he put on his headset.

"Command line: Run SilverHearts, server is Teltreon. Select character Nenshoukaze," said Digits in a natural tone. He felt the complex visual electronics pulling him into the virtual world. He saw Nenshoukaze, his level seventy-three elven vampire, and felt himself be "pulled" into it. This was his main character, which he had leveled the old fashioned way since the beginnings of Silverhearts. Due to his understanding of the game, since he did program it itself, after all, he was able to create this complicated mix of races. He was very pleased with this character, mainly because of the lengthy amount of time he spent levelling it up. At the time, he was wearing shiny, high-level armor which was inscribed with many runes of protection and various other enhancements, which went over his other clothing. This armor adorned his forarm and shoulders, as well as his feet, shins, and knees. Even his gloves were plated with rune-covered armor. Upon his chest he wore red chinese jacket, embroidered with various chinese characters which seemed to glow with magical power. His simple black pants were held up by a metal-plated belt, which had thousands of tiny runes inscribed in it. From this belt hung a simple, sheathed katana, which was housed in shirasaya, a simple wooden sheath and hilt, which made it appear by all accounts to be a rather low-level weapon. Also from his belt hung several non-descript cloth bags.
[/color:0847b77dc4]

Within moments, Nenshoukaze felt movement, and his surroundings blurred and glowed brightly so as to be white. After but a few seconds, however, the glowing faded away and his environment slowed down and became clear. He was now in front of a small, but well-known bar, amongst more experienced players. He stepped inside and waved to the bartender, who was cleaning a dirty mug with an even filthier rag. The tall swordsman couldn't help but grin, turning away to look around the rest of the bar. He quickly saw what he was looking for, or rather "who." He sauntered over to the corner where a certain elf named Kurokaze was seated, and he joined him on the opposite side of the booth.

"So, Kurokaze. How're things?" asked Nenshoukaze pleasantly. "I'd ask if you'd encountered any more over-powered dragons, but I suppose either you wouldn't be here to tell me, or we wouldn't be around here talking about it right now, am I right?"

Vendetta decided to ignore Jezebelle's take on society. Funny how she had forgot her habits and appearance, but remembered her personality. Maybe because she was a glass-is-half-empty realist.
Vendetta had always thought the glass-filling issue could be argued both ways.

"Oh, sorry, Jezebelle. It's been a while, remember?" Vendetta gripped her forehead between two fingers. "Well, there's a tavern over there." she paused to point across the town square. "I hear the King's Arms has pretty good food as well as drink."

They walked around an ornate, but dry, fountain to the pub.

Vendetta heard commotion before they even entered the door.
Maybe not... Vendetta didn't know about Jezebelle, but she certainly didn't want to get in a bar brawl.

She turned around to look for other places to eat, but something in a back alley caught her eye. Unknowingly, she ran towards a crime in progress.

"Hey, what are you...!" she screamed.

There was a tall, effeminate man in a black coat, standing over a woman player. He stabbed the woman once, twice, thrice before Vendetta even blinked. And then he dissapeared, as if he had teleported.

By the time Vendetta walked over to check the woman's pulse, she was already cold and grey. Unmoving.

"Oh my God," Vendetta nearly sobbed. "This is horrible. We have to go get help..."

OOC:In case you didn't catch that, what we have is a Godmodder, hacking into his own account. He is super strong, able to teleport, and whoever he kills stays dead. Past that, I dunno. >_<

"Help?" Jezebelle asked with an eyebrow arched high as she stood over the two women. "Why? Vendetta, the woman's quite obvioulsy dead." She looked at the redhead, and her cold eyes softened slightly. "Venny, there's nothing we can do, she's gone. Come, let's get a drink..." she rolled her eyes since she knew Vendetta would not leave the corpse for a drink.

"We'll find someone to help in the tavern," she said in her usual cool tone, and squeezed Vendetta's shoulder briefly. "She isn't going anywhere, so we can leave her for a moment." She took her hand away, and turned out of the alley.

The assassin walked into the bar, no turning to see if Vendetta was following her. Her eyes swept over the room, and then rolled asd she recognized two particular people. "Lovely," she muttered. "It's elf-boy, and his little friend..." She looked over to her associate (Jez doesn't belive in friends), hoping she didn't spot the two familiar faces at the bar. "Well, I don't see anyone. Let's try next door, shall we?"

PI PI PI... PI PI PI went Kayo's alarm clock. She frowned, rolling over in her bed and bringing her hand to slam down over the button, silencing the poor contraption. After a few minutes she slowly raised her head, her eyelids rising to expose her cerulean eyes. Slowly she glanced at the numbers on the clock; it was nearly eleven. "Already so early...? Jeez..." she mumbled lazily, climbing out of bed with the urgency of a sloth. She raised her arms up and over her head, yawning as she shuffled over to her computer. The girl grabbed the headset from the table next to her computer desk and plopped it onto her head, shortly there after clicking the icon for the 'Silverhearts' program. She mumbled 'Teltreon...' when the computer inquired as to which server on which she desired to play, and, when Kayo opened her eyes, saw a beautiful array of life-like graphics.[/color:e51a42a15c]

Kayo's avatar 'Yurie' appeared in the town square, appearing just as sloth-like and tired as her player was. The avatar was adorned in a long, black kimono with intricate crane and sakura-flower embroideries, mixed in with bits of white and pink along the sleeve and bottom edges. A magenta and black obi was wrapped snugly about her waist as she brushed her collarbone-length ebony hair from her eyes, looking about as numerous newbie characters shuffled by, asking stupid questions. She adjusted two katana at the right side of her waist and nodded, pleased with her recently purchased weaponry. With a sigh, the avatar began to walk about the town. As she passed by the bar, she heard a familiar voice; Nenshoukaze?

Suddenly animate and alert, Yurie burst into the bar, the sleeves of her kimono flapping slightly before falling down below her arms. The girl trotted over to the group of four, waving to each of them, her geta shoes 'clopping' on the wooden floor of the tavern. "Ohayou gozaimasu~" she said cheerfully, speaking in her second language. "It's so early... I shouldn't have set my alarm for 11..." she said, yawning. "So, what's everyone talking about?"

OOC:OK So now, no more plot or scaryness. Let's have fun!!

Other than that, edited because Dan was right about knowing about Digits... ;__;

MORE CHEESE THAN A BAG O' DORITOS!!

EDIT TWO: I----t's cheese, it's cheese, it's cheese that makes the world go round...
And, name of blade changed from "wind cutter" to "Wind flame"

"No, I meant, oh," Vendetta grew hot in the face. "Dammit, you're right. But we still should tell an..."

"Nen-nen-nenshoukaze!!!" Vendetta ran over to the avatar, knowing that he was famous and powerful. "What do you mean you don't see anyone, Jez?" She looked confused at first, but then accepted her behavior as typical Jez: as sterile and apathetic as a mortician.

"Um, anyways, Nenshoukaze and friend, I think..." she went on to give an eyewitness description of what she had seen. She said what she thought of the issue as well as the facts, but was sure to discern between the two.
"Hope that helped catch Mr. Hacker in some way..."

She paused, blinking and catching her breath.

"So yeah, sorry to break up brunch for something morbid. My name is Vendetta, and this," Here she patted her scythe lovingly, "Is Kazabi. And you are..." she pointed to Kurokaze and Yurie.

OOC: meh, hackers like that are no problem. The more that try, the less that can succeed ;) Besides, do all MMOs need hackers to make them interesting? (with the exception of Matrix Online) XD

also, did you mean that you knew Digits plays as Nenshoukaze? he actually keeps it a secret that nenshoukaze = digits, since otherwise people would swarm him like GIEV ME TEH MONEES!!! and stuff X3

Digits suddenly heard a light chirping in his left ear, and raised his headset from his eyes. He grabbed his glasses from the desk and put them on, then looked immediately to the small screen in the center. It no longer read "None," and instead listed a name, "Waraigoe," followed by various incomprehensible data, which to the eyes of a person with knowledge of the seemingly meaningless numbers and letters probably indicated current location, class, stats, inventory, and so on. Digits guessed that this person was hoping to become famous for hacking SilverHearts just as the anonymous person before him had; he was, however, sorely wrong. His first mistake was staying online.

The genius programmer was also a hacker himself, and thus knew how to prevent such actions. He readied his keyboard and turned to the monitor on the left. He tapped a small white box in the bottom right corner of the monitor, and it expanded, pushing the scrolling bytes of data up to give it room. He then began to type rapidly, his fingers becoming a blur across the keyboard. He paused after a few moments and grinned as he read the words on the screen: "Target located, establishing connection... done." He tapped out a few more commands, and the following words appeared: "Transmission complete, sending run command... done. Modifying log files... done. Rerouting tracks... hiding tracks... done. Target's harddrive will be wiped in approximately twenty-two minutes, fourty-three seconds." Digits smiled to himself and tapped the white box, which was then in the middle of the screen, up against the left side and just below the stop of the flowing data. It then flew back to its original position, and the data once again took over the screen.[/color:1496ed5a0e]

"Talking about?" Nenshoukaze responded after a short moment of staring off into space. "Oh, nothing in particular. I haven't even gotten a drink yet, so of course nothing interesting's happened!" To this he laughed jovially, as he stood up and bowed to the lady, offering her his seat. As the other ladies he arrived, he motioned for them to sit down as well.

"This, dear friend Vendetta, is Kurokaze the punch-drunk elf," the tall swordsman said with a mischevious grin. "And this pretty lady over here is Yurie, the sexy sword-woman. She just wishes her technique was as good as mine. And, of course, that she were as sexy." To this he winked at Yurie in a playful manner, and smiled similarly at Vendetta and Jezebelle.

Vendetta laughed, only a little nervous now, corpse forgotten. It was just a small incident, somebody's probaby gotten it taken care of...

"So guys! What classes are you all, or what do you want to be? I don't know what class I want to be, but I am aligned with the Fire and Air elements."

She ordered a mixed drink with a name so long she had to pause between syllables. "Hey, Jezebelle," she said, pointing to the menu, "Want anything?"

Jezebelle sighed and followed Vendetta over to the bar, and took her seat next to the redhead. She despised Nenshoukaze for his skill with the sword, and the elf simply repulsed her; she wasn't fond of elves. The woman rolled her eyes when Nenshoukaze smiled in her direction, and turned her attention to the menu. She sat with all the grace and majesty of a noble woman, and could probably pull off the act and live in the lap of luxury whenever she got tired of being an assassin.

"Just the stew," she shrugged, and asked the bartender for some water. He gave it to her, but grumbled that she only ordered the water because it was free.

Kurokaze shot a glare at Nenshoukaze.

"Punch-drunk?" he muttered under his breath. "Not my fault that block head doesn't get it..." He sipped his ale again, but as he had never liked ale much in the first place, that was his last sip of it. He had already had several mugs today, he was certain he'd be fine without anymore. He started to get up, but then reached into seemingly empty space next to him, grabbed a handful of something, and pulled his clenched fist straight down, fast. There was a bang as something hit the table hard, knocking the mug of ale over and spilling onto the invisible thief's face. A muttered "Ow" came from that area on the table, and the invisibilty spell ended.

"Do you mind?" Kurokaze asked, staring the dirty man in the eye. He released the man's collar and the terrified thief ran out from the table and barged his way out the door. Kurokaze sighed. He was going to need a new drink.

"Nice," said Vendetta. "Hey Theifsbane, do you want a new drink while the waiter's here? I noticed you seem to have lost it." She pointed to the puddle.

The waiter came over, and gave the drink and stew to Vendetta. She passed the stew to Jezebelle, but kept her drink. Which looked much like stew before the waiter pulled out a packet of -something- and put it in. It flashed bright colors, and then turned a chunky purple.
"Thanks for the alkoholisches Getränk des schwebenden purpurroten Schicksals!!!"
She pulled out a wallet and gave him the required monies. He put it in his change purse, and got a slip of paper out.
"Ma'am you need to sign this..."
"What? Signing my life away?"
"Not called the alcoholic drink of impending purple doom for nothing."
"Right."

She signed the waiver, and the waiter left. "Oh, wait, Kuro-mara might have wanted something..."
