Aurelia laughed. "You didn't even have to ask." Leila would be furious if she were 'awake,' Aurelia thought mischeviously.

"Yeah, let's go. Preferably before my brain turns to mush."

"Good." Lulu grinned, and looked back at the teacher, who appeared to be the only one paying an ounce of attention to the girl in front. What's her speech on, anyway? Lulu wondered for a moment, then turned her attention to more important things.

She'd been sure to get a seat near the back of the classroom, which was helpful. And it was a large classroom, which was even better. And the best part was that the class's volume had been increasing at a rate directly proportional to their boredom; at the moment, the girl in front could barely even be heard from where Lulu was sitting.

Her eyes turned to the door of the classroom, which slowly clicked open and began to swing outward at a rate that was nearly imperceptible. "Follow me," she said to Aurelia, taking one last glance at the teacher. She dropped her feet to the floor with a soft thump and stood up, staying low so she wouldn't stand out against all of her seated peers.

Making it to the door without being spotted was no feat at all. Only after she was safely out did she turn around to see whether Aurelia had followed her without getting caught.

Vladimir had been "listening" to the girl's speech, making a few doodles on the desk with a pencil he found on the ground when something grabbed his attention. It sounded like the new girl was planning an escape! The young musician turned slowly to look at where she was sitting, and found his suspicions to be correct. First the fiery speech against helping the poor and hungry, and now skipping class! This is a girl after my own heart! though Vladimir with a smile. And yet, what would be more interesting? he wondered mischeviously, Letting her escape, or trying to get her caught and see how she talks her way out of it? Ah, this one is a no-brainer!

Calmly, he watched as she crept towards the steadily opening door, and without moving, he waited until she snuck out. Then, he decided to strike. Manipulating the sound waves of a well-planned caugh, he forced the door to slam shut, but kept the door knob turned so that it slowly swung back out again. Vladimir played ignorant, clearing his throat a few times and pounding his chest lightly as he looked innocently up at the strange disturbance.

Aurelia was instantly glad that she had hung back. She had been distracted, and had not recieved Lulu's signal to follow. I guess I'm the lucky one, she thought, sighing. The rest of the kids' heads ratcheted to focus on Lulu, and the teacher turned around to face the would-be skipper. It was so quiet that Aurelia could hear the blower-fan kicking on to propel cool air into the ducts, somewhere in the back of the building. Oh, man.

OOC:XD Lulu's gonna haaaaate you.

The sound made her-- and, judging from the startled silence from within the classroom, everyone else-- jump with surprise. She'd not been expecting it; this was supposed to be just another easy escape, like the dozens she'd pulled off before. She had been sure that she'd had the door completely under control.

It didn't take long for the teacher to catch her. She'd debated with herself the option of simply levitating some heavy object at him and running for it, as she was used to doing when being pursued, but decided that that probably wasn't a very acceptable option in this case. Besides, she'd have to come to this class for the rest of the term, and there was no reason to start off quite so badly.

She turned to see him looking sternly down at her. "And where, Miss..."

"Goulde," she said helpfully, flashing what she hoped was a winning smile.

"Miss Goulde. Where, exactly, do you think you're going?"

"Uh, I think I'm going to the restroom. I could be wrong, of course, I don't know this place real well, but--"

"--The restroom."

"Yes, that's what I said."

"In the middle of Miss Francis's speech?"

"Well, I didn't want to interrupt her fascinating lecture to ask you for permission, so I figured I should just try to leave quietly."

"Uh-huh."

"Yep."

"And you just decided to bring her with you?" He nodded toward Aurelia, one eyebrow raised. "I suppose she had to use the restroom, as well."

"Actually, see..." Lulu fished around desperately for some excuse, though her face showed none of it. "See, I'm new here. And I wasn't really sure where the restroom was. I mean, I really didn't want to end up stuck in some broom closet or something. So I asked her to tell me where it was, but I'm terrible with directions, and she offered to just show me instead."

"And you couldn't wait until she was finished?" The teacher looked amused-- not, Lulu, thought, a good sign.

"I drank a lot of water with lunch."

"Really."

"Yeah. I get dehydrated really easily, so I have to drink a lot of water."

"I could give you a week's worth of detentions, you know."

"For drinking water?"

"For skipping class."

"But I wasn't. I had to use the restroom."

"That's probably the worst excuse I've ever heard."

"I can't help it if the truth sounds like a cheesy excuse for skipping class. It's still the truth." She glanced up at a clock on the wall. There was still an hour left in class, and at this rate she'd have to come back after five minutes or so and sit through the rest of that hour.

She quickly changed tactics. "Well, if you want me to be completely honest... I also needed to go to the library to look up something I used in my speech." Here her voice took on a confidential tone. "I wasn't really sure if it was right, but it sounded good. Still, I'd feel bad giving the class false information-- I was just gonna go look it up and let you guys know if it was an inaccurate fact."

"Really, now?" The teacher looked a little more convinced this time.

Lulu feigned embarassment. "I was kind of hoping I wouldn't get caught," she said quietly. "You see, it really is my first day here, and I was hoping to make a good impression-- I didn't want to risk the chance of you knowing it was a bad fact and thinking I was just making this stuff up." Even though I was.

The teacher cocked his head to one side. "I find it a little hard to believe that you'd put so much effort into one speech," he said, but Lulu could tell that it would be downhill from here.

"Are you kidding?" she exclaimed loudly, her eyes widening with shock. "This is my favorite class! The stuff you learn in here is so useful in the real world!"

The teacher beamed with barely-contained pride.

Lulu supressed a smirk. Every teacher seemed to think that his or her particular subject was the most important; this made them easy to manpulate. "And I've never had such a good teacher either," she continued, laying it on thick. Any of her peers would have been able to tell that she was lying through her teeth, but the teacher apparantly missed that. "I just wanted to impress you, that's all."

"Well, you should've just said so." His expression of amusement was gone, replaced by one of complete and utter excitement. "Here, I'll write you a pass to the library, and you can look up that fact and tell us all next class."

"Wow, thanks!" She beamed up at him, and he went back into the classroom for a moment. He returned with a slip of paper in hand, and gave it to Lulu.

"Aurelia," he said, glancing at the other girl, "why don't you go ahead and show Miss Goulde where the library is? You can help her with the research if she needs it."

Lulu grinned as he turned back toward the classroom. She waved her fingers teasingly back at the class, hoping that whoever was responsible for her getting caught would see.

"All right, then, Aurelia," she said with a grin, "you ready to do some, uh, research?"

OOC:EDIT: Ah, crap. Just saw the post where you said Aurelia didn't follow. Darn. Uh... ^^; Sorry?

Vladimir looked with mild interest at the new girl, though in his mind he was positively beaming. It truely was a marvelous performance. It was imaginative, convincing, and -- most importantly -- effective. Vladimir felt that he could scarcely have done any better, even using his sonic-hypnosis abilities. She even played off his ego, the young musician mused. That was bold! not all teachers are as self-absorbed as this guy. Vladimir briefly contemplated offering to "show her to the library," but quickly decided against it. He would certainly introduce himself, that was not a question. He would do so later, however, at a more convenient time for both of them. Perhaps, if she was as Vladimir believed her to be, he would even invite her to join his organization.

But, that day, if it were ever to occur, was a long time away. She was not yet even an acquaintance, much less someone he could trust with his secret. For the time being, he would simply continue to doodle on the desk and keep an eye and an ear out for her.

OOC: thought i'd post something ^^; maybe this'll start moving again...?

OOC:So yeah, uh... about the Aurelia hanging back thing. Hrm.... well, Lulu's argument kinda stemmed off of Aurelia's being there-- but I don't want to godmod and be like "Yeah, screw your post, Aurelia followed her." So I'll try to leave it sort of vague as to whether Aurelia's there or not, and you can just sort of put her wherever you want her. ^^; Sorry about that.

"Take that, loser," she muttered, knowing fully well that the 'loser' who'd gotten her caught couldn't hear her. Still, when combined with a rather rude gesture, it made her feel marginally better.

She turned around and left, neither knowing nor particularly caring whether Aurelia had ended up following her. Where to go, where to go, she wondered vaguely as she walked. It was true that she didn't know the school particularly well; she would probably end up wasting this free time finding her way around. Still, it was better than wasting this free time sitting in class.

Shame there's no modern dance class I could crash. Or, if there was, she had no idea where it was taking place.

Whatever.

Lulu passed the library, where there appeared to be a class studying or researching or something. Definitely not crashing that one, she thought, and moved on to other, more interesting things.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC:Anyone mind if I move us forward a bit?
Time to introduce Leah. *wicked grin* Let's see how much confusion we can cause.
Leah loved the library.
She'd always loved the library, and the one here at the Academy was one of the best she'd ever seen. It was large and full and practical, even if it lacked the aesthetic appeal that she'd found in so many others.
Her pen flew over the paper as she copied the passage from the book nearly verbatim. These science classes weren't precisely her forte, but she managed to pull by with scores that caused most of her classmates to glare at her when her back was turned, and even sometimes when it wasn't. Those few that didn't just pretended that she wasn't there, and that was fine too.
She nearly jumped when the bell rang. The other kids sprang from their seats as though they'd been counting the seconds until the end of class-- they probably had, actually. Leah hadn't noticed the time flying by.
She stayed a few minutes longer to finish copying down the notes, then put the book away and picked up her bag. Her lunch lay at one side, squashed by several thick novels and research books.
Her lunch site changed with each week. Usually she'd find a pretty one and sit there a while, and a few days later someone else would find it and sit there a while. They never kicked her out or even hinted that she should leave... she just did it. She didn't like most people, and she saw no reason to force herself to be around them.
Today there was a nice, empty willow tree sitting over there, in the middle of some clearing. No bench, but that was just as well. She didn't mind sitting on the ground. She made her way over, pulled another textbook out of her bag, and flipped it open as she began to eat her lunch.
OOC: fine with me
Vladimir was just contemplating making an escape of his own when the bell finally rang -- lunch time! Vladimir didn't particularly care for lunch for the food aspect of it; he just liked to get out of classes for a bit. Besides, lunch always spawned opportunities for getting out of afternoon classes early -- especially whatever silly math class he was enrolled in. Although the teachers generally knew that he was skipping class, they found it hard to argue with him when he described the exotic lunches he ate -- from cow tongue to squid to chicken feet and anything else imaginable under the sun -- and that he "must've eaten too fast" or "too much." They excused him if for no other reason than to save themselves from thinking about it. Though they hadn't believed him at first, he promptly produced his lunch bag and opened up the plastic containers for them, and they believed. Now, of course, he just had to mention his stomach and he was excused. Vladimir knew this, but didn't use the excuse more than once a week -- after all, even the undefeatable excuses can get tiresome if used too often.
As the young musician walked the halls, he took in the sights and sounds, waving to his many acquantances and offering charming, suave smiles to any girls that he'd heard or sensed had a crush on him. The school wasn't overflowing with them, of course, but there were a few. He wasn't a jock, but he was athletic and was known for his martial arts skills, but at the same time was thoughtful and kind (or so they thought), and could serenade like a pro. Vladimir didn't consider himself that popular, or that he had many real "friends," as that was simply his way. However, he knew almost everyone in the school, and, for the most part, they knew him. Because of this, his lunch spots were rather varied. His fans believed this was so he could talk to as many people as possible and make everyone feel welcome in the Institute -- they believed this because he was somewhat new himself, and didn't want any other "newbies" to feel alone. The real reason for this, however, was that he generally didn't like most of the people. But, he felt their own interpretations were more advantageous, and let them live in their fantasy world.
Today found Vladimir making his way outside, simple brown paper lunchbag in hand, looking for nobody in particular. In fact, sitting with nobody would be his first preference, but he had appearances to keep up. As he walked along, he noticed someone who caught his eye immediately. It was that Lulu girl from earlier! As he walked closer to her, however, Vladimir gradually lost his certainty. Not only had her hair changed unreasonably much, but she was reading, by herself. Hasn't quite the same... fire, has she? And yet, she's a carbon copy! Determined to find out what was going on -- or, if nothing else, to simply make this pretty girl's acquaintance -- Vladimir calmly sat down beside her, leaning up against the tree. He was silent at first; he didn't even look at her. Instead, he stared up into the sky.
"Nice day, huh?" Vladimir asked, only then electing to look over at the girl. He smiled warmly, only looking at her for a moment before turning his attentions to his lunchbag. He stuck his hand in the bag and fished around, sticking his tongue out between his lips as though concentrating hard on finding something before finally pulling out a small, whitish bun that had been browned on the top. It was obviously no longer fresh, but was still warm -- he had just tossed it in the microwave a few minutes before. Nevertheless, a pork bun was a pork bun -- and they were all tasty. "So, how was your last class?" he asked casually, not wanting to be too blunt about his questions.
Takahashi was slightly perturbed he left the classroom that day. He had been sitting very quietly in the back, trying to avoid catching the attention of anyone that would lead the Mafia son to see him. He knew that Vladmir had been responsible for the door slamming, just from the ripples of power he'd felt from the boy at that time. He had no idea how, of course, that was his father's area of expertise, but he nevertheless could feel when a mutant used their powers in his vicinity. He had quietly followed Vladmir to see what he was up to, and then discovered him with that strange girl whose escape the Mafia jerk had wrecked not but a short while ago. /Sly bastard, ain't he?/ Takahashi thought. He decided to watch for a little while, see where this conversation would lead.
Lulu glanced up at Vladimir as he approached, then back down at her book, expecting that he'd just walk past her. She knew who he was-- she'd been here for an entire year, after all, and he was one of the better-known students-- and she couldn't for the life of her imagine why he'd choose to sit down beside her.
But he did.
All right. Then he was probably waiting for a friend to meet him here. That was no problem, she could just sort of ignore him and maybe when his friend turned up he'd go away.
No luck, apparently.
She was rather startled when he spoke to her, first about the weather, then about her class. She was quite certain that he didn't want to hear all about her science research project, and even if he'd wanted to, she was too surprised to really say anything of significance. "It was... uh... good," she finally managed, the tail end of her statement going up like a question. She was at a loss as to what to say beyond that. "Um... how was yours?"
OOC:Yep. Definitely not Lulu. XD
The bell rang, and Aurelia picked her head off her desk. "I can't believe I just fell asleep... I never fall asleep in class," she muttered, shaking her head. She looked around for Lulu and Vladimir, but they weren't there--actually, the whole classroom was empty except for Aurelia herself. "I guess it's lunch time," she said, picking up her papers and putting them in her bag.
Aurelia exited the classroom and went into the near-empty halls, and then walked out to her favorite lunch spot by the weeping willow. She sat down on the bench near the path, not realizing that Leah and Vladimir were sitting on the other side. She got her brown lunch bag out of her messenger bag, and opened it. Aurelia then remembered that she promised she'd wait for B-11, and held off on actually eating the contents of the bag for a few minutes.
She reclined back on the bench, staring up at the willow's gently swaying branches. Aurelia was nearly mesmerized by them, but snapped alert when she heard voices. She heard Vladimir and Leah behind the tree, Vlad making polite conversation and Leah, in her great shyness, struggling with her words. But beyond that, beyond the other chattering voices on the lawn, beyond even Leila (who had awoken a minute or two ago), Aurelia heard a chorus of voices she vaguely recognised. Several were Azazel, saying something she felt was important, but it was being drowned out. Others were from other rada, good Loa trying to warn her. Others she recognised as petro.
One stood out from all the rest, and a chill ran down her spine. Soon, Aurelia, soon! It said in a deep, booming voice. Soon I will return from where your father entrapped me, and then we will be stronger than ever! Now that he is dead, who will save you now?
Aurelia broke out into a cold sweat. No, no, this wasn't happening. It couldn't be. But it was. All she could do for now was force Kalfu out of her head. Her hands formed two tight fists. You can't control me! I won't let you!
Au contraire. While I can't be on hand to possess you, one of my minions will shortly. Kalfu laughed evilly.
Then, no more voices. Aurelia threw her lunch away, appetite dissapated. She probably wouldn't sleep that night, either.
OOC:*I make a mistakeee. It's LOA, not IWA. D:
Well, anyways. rada= good loa, petro= bad
Kalfu= ultimate god of chaos and disorder. controls all evils spirits, can change people into animals and control minds. he is also a sorcerer, and uses leaves to do magic.
Agau= strong earth god. controls earthquakes.
B-11 found Aurelia under the willow tree staring at... well, just staring. Her eyes were slightly out of focus and her dark skin glistened as though she were moist. Her expression was strangely contorted, as though the muscles in her face had all tightened. B-11 leaned down and poked her nose.
"Miss Le Fay," the raccoon girl said politely. "You're face looks unusual, and you have become moist. If you are not well, please alert me so that I may fetch you some assitance."
OOC: holy crap, apocalypse!? O_O; this could be really hard to deal with, but it's fine with me XD This is technically other dan's server, so maybe if we can bug him enough, he'll post his response...
Vladimir listened to the girl interestedly, mulling over her words and perhaps his response as well as he took a large bite of the steaming pork bun and chewed it thoughtfully. He nodded, as though completely understanding her feelings on the subject of her last class. Yup, clearly not the same Lulu. Maybe she has multiple personalities?
"Oh, you know how it is," Vladimir said at last. "Boring generally. A few interesting people, but other than that.... Say, I haven't properly introduced myself," he continued, suddenly recognizing the face. He had seen her before, last year. She was just so quiet usually that he kept forgetting to say hello. "My name's Vladimir Liang. I'm nobody special, but I like the violin. It probably keeps you up at night when I play!" He laughed a little, then took another thoughtful bite of his pork bun. A couple people were on the other side of the tree -- he heard them walk up -- but they didn't seem to be paying attention. He had a feeling someone else was keeping an eye on them, but he shoved that instinct to the back of his mind. After all, nothing mob-related could possibly happen at that school -- there were too many powerful mutants around, not to mention plenty who could sense the attack miles in advance.
"I-I'll be okay... for now," Aurelia said, wiping her face off with one hand. "I don't know how much time I have left... so I'd better warn you, and Professor X." She paused. "If I suddenly have a personality change, and come at you with killing intent... you try to kill me right back, okay?" She thought of another thing. "And if I am taken when no one is around, I will try to leave a message."
I don't know what else I can do but wait, Aurelia thought grimly. I don't know what Kalfu and the petro plan to do once they take me...
OOC:FIREFLY QUOTE (...sorta...) PLUS ONE
They plan to join Apocalypse in his Darwinistic plans D': (obviously you good peeps will have to bring in the full-grown XMen like Wolverine and Storm to help with Apocalypse, I mean, really. D: )
Only the strong survive... ;D;;
based sorta off the plot in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Men_Legends_II
"It is I who am the gunner of god; when I roar the earth trembles."--Agau HAHA you'll hear Aurelia say this A LOT in the next postt xD
PS: The only way to beat a spirit in Aurelia is to beat up Aurelia until it's ejected... which is rather hard b/c her mutant power is super strength and a high pain tolerance/toughness
THAR BE DISORAGIZED THOUGHTS :B
OOC:um, i have a phone you know.
Takahashi had been watching carefully, and something was not right with the girl with Vladmir. She seemed to be almost opposite of her earlier self. That smug confidence that girl had held in their class earlier was gone, it was almost as if she was a different person al together.
