"You can't be serious. Our homework for the last two weeks was to prepare and practice our speeches!"
She sighed, shaking her head. "You're just going to embarrass yourself if you go up there unprepared... Ha, but some people embarrass themselves even when they think they're prepared, like that poor boy." The boy making his speech was shaking, and holding his paper with a rheumatoid-arthritic grip. His voice had faded to a whisper. I'm scared, Aurelia though, But not that scared, thankfully... OOC:OH DYNASTY D: |

Lulu repeated, her eyes wide. "But it's the first day of the term! Was this, like, summer homework, or what?" She leaned back in her seat and ran her hand through her hair, which immediately fell back into its casual messiness. "I thought it was impromptu stuff."
She turned to the girl again. "What's it supposed to be on, then?" she asked, frowning. "I can't tell from what that kid up there's trying to say. He's stuttering too much. It's almost painful to listen to." She said this last bit with a nonchalance that almost undermined her words, but she wasn't really paying much attention to the kid, anyway. Her grin back on her face, Lulu turned back to the front of the classroom, leaning her chair back until it looked like it was about to tip over. "So, I guess I'm going up there unprepared. Anything I should know? Subject? Time limit? Teacher's opinion on the issue?" She seemed much calmer than she should have under the circumstances-- for all she knew, this could be worth half her grade. But being in front of a crowd didn't make Lulu nervous; people generally received her words well. Besides, she thought smugly, how hard could this possibly be? |

"Hmm, well, the topic isn't that hard. We had to pick a current issue in the world and present a solution. I got stuck with medical reform, unfortunately. But, I think I did a good job despite the crappy topic." Aurelia sighed. "The other kids doubled up on abortion, world hunger, and affirmative action, so I got nudged out and had to pick something else. Only two to a topic. Oh, and the speeched must be five minutes long. I forget what the other topics were... Wait," she said, taking out a sheet with all the topics printed on them. At the top, it was labeled, 'Summer Break Take-Home Essay.' "This should explain everything," Aurelia said. The first boy had finished his speech and sat back down. It was Aurelia's turn next, but she had a few minutes while the teacher finished grading the last presenter. OOC:Gone for the weekend, from Friday afterschool to Sunday afternoon... just so you know.
GAR I would finish with Aurelia's speech but I have shat to do and so. D: |

"Medical reform? That's the only one left, then, is it?" She ran her eyes down the paper-- yes, it appeared that medical reform had one spot open for a speech, and the others were full. I could just tell the teacher that it's my first term here, she thought offhandedly. I'm sure he'd understand. But what fun would that be? |

EDIT: Uhm, just realized that Aurelia shouldn't be completely aware/in control during possession, especially with Az... changesuru + something to keep in mind... "Yeah, it's the only topic left," Aurelia said to Lulu. "It's Az time," Aurelia whispered micheviously, taking a Tupperware container out from her bag. She opened it, revealing a strange mixture of plantain and liver. She slurped it down, and drew a symbol on one of her papers in a yellow-orange chalk pastel. Aurelia touched the symbol, and her veins roiled not unlike a bag of angry squirrels as Azazel traveled up them. Her eyes turned the same yellow-orange colour of the pastel, and her mouth turned up in a wicked smile. Azrelia cracked their knuckles, saying, "Heheh, it's been a long while," in its crazy, multitonal voice. Aurelia thought to Azazel with the last of her consciousness, At least speak in my voice when you're presenting, OK? Fine, Azazel thought back. But it's such a pain. OOC:HAH BEST METAPHOR EVER xD;
Azrelia = Azazel + Aurelia LOL "Crazy multitonal voice" = always shifting, different words said in different people's voices. (Azazel is made up of thousands of souls, after all.) |

Vladimir chuckled, putting his hands in his pants pockets. He attempted to shift his weight and turn around, but found himself unable to do so. Frickin' Yakuza jerk, he thought to himself. He sighed, and snapped his fingers crisply. The sound seemed to echo down the hall, creating a sudden burst of air that began to push Takahashi's feet out from under him.
"Oi, ya wanna stop being such a jerk an' let me go?" asked Vladimir annoyedly, one eyebrow raised. "These are expensive shoes, and besides -- I've got a presentation to not present yet." OOC: "Well, I could... but I don't have to (speak politely) to you!" |

The girl looked up at her with large green eyes and a polite smile, and cocked her head slightly to the side. "Don't you have a class to get to, young lady?" B-11 simply blinked and stared at her as a reply. "You need to get to class." Another blink. "Now." The girl stood up slightly, and looked up at her unsure of what she was doing. "You must leave." The librarian pointed to the door, and B-11 stood and began to leave. "Wait! Don't forget to take your things with you." B-11 turned around with her smile still on her face, and she gathered the books in papers into her arms and left the library. She was supposed to get to "class"... but she didn't know what class was! So, she settled for the next best thing, and wandered the halls with an arms full of children's books, and pieces of paper with neat letters all over them. As she walked, she looked around at the halls and peered into the winodws of classrooms. |

She noted the difference in voice... but she wasn't sure what exactly had happened. Well, she thought, if I ate something that smelled that gross, I guess maybe I'd start spazzing too. "You okay?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. " 'Cause if you are, I'd try to act a little more, uh, normal. The teacher's lookin' this way." |

"Meh..." he muttered, gesturing in Vladmir's direction. "<We'll just have to finish this some other time.>" Takahashi snorted derisively and then walked away to his class. /Frickin' Mafia jerk.../ he thought. OOC:the <> is chinese |

Discovering that he could indeed, the young Mafia man straightened his jacket, fixed his collar, and slipped his hands into his pants pockets. He turned on his heel, and without a second glance walked swiftly yet softly forward. Stinkin' Yakuza lamer, he thought irritatedly.
The halls were almost completely empty, except for just a very few people like himself who had a tendancy to avoid the first while (or the entirety, for that matter) of certain classes that they particularly dislike. These people were mostly also the very few people who could get away with doing just that. Vladimir knew just about everyone at the academy -- indeed, he had an excellent memory (for everything except numbers and mathematical equations) and could generally remember the names and faces of anyone introduced to him -- and he especially knew these who could skip class as he could. He was even reasonably close friends with some of them, but they rarely talked when they were avoiding class. After all, larger numbers attracted larger attention. This day, Vladimir recalled that he had some kind of speech to present in his first class of the day. Something about a solution to a problem. As he recalled, he had snagged "world hunger" for some reason. Naturally, he hadn't given it any thought -- he was a very busy man, after all. He would simply have to either make it up as he went, or take the F. That F sounds fine and dandy, he thought resignedly, wanting very much to convince himself that he could actually accept such a grade in such a class. Alas, I've reserved all my failing grades for those blasted mathematics courses! So, he took a deep breath and walked down the long hallway towards the class, nodding to various friends or acquaintances in the other classrooms he passed. He glanced at his watch just before reaching the door: he was thirty minutes late, and someone was just finishing a speech. Ah, it's that eccentric girl, the channeler, he thought absently, wondering vaguely how her speech had gone. "World hunger!" Vladimir declared proudly, bursting through the door dramatically. He looked dreamily at some point high on the wall across the classroom and stood for a moment with his right arm stretched out towards it. A few people rolled their eyes ("oh boy, it's Vladimir...") while a few others looked up with excitement in their eyes ("oh boy, it's Vladimir!") while the rest -- transfers, mostly -- were still trying to figure out what the heck was happening. The teacher of the class displayed a mix of all these. "A vexing problem, ages old," continued the Russo-Chinese man, allowing a trace of his Russian accent to slip out, as he tended to during such dramatic things, "and each age has brought one step further -- not closer, my friends, but further -- from finding a solution. What now can we do? "Surely people of wisdom and intelligence have discussed this problem for long hours, yes? That is, at least, what we hope. But I tell you, my friends, even with all the money and technology and wisdom of this modern age, a great majority of the world still starves. Why! This is what we ask, as we sit on our butts and eat our tasty pastries! Well indeed, my friends, there is the answer right there! With all the great talk of solutions -- truely it is only talk -- there is hardly any action. Ideas are only half of what is needed to solve this great riddle. Acting on these ideas, now that is the key. For this case, that is the solution, plain and simple. Ideas -- they are plentiful: donations from the rich, non-profit organizations, free or nearly free education, farming donations, et cetera. But, of course, the real problem is that little is done with these ideas. Sure, they happen -- many people have made their little organizations and some things happen. But now, now is the time to really act. Open your wallets! No, not necessarily you," he added as an aside to an over-eager student in the front row, "and not even this instant or to me -- though I never mind donations" -- here he winked generally to everyone in the room -- "but I digress." Vladimir continued like this for nearly seven minutes with ever-increasing eloquence, further emphasizing the need for people with the means to do so to simply act and pour everything they can into that effort of raising the poor and establishing institutions for that goal, and so on. When he was at last finished -- and it was a rather convincing and almost fiery finale -- he simply flashed his charming smile to the class, winked at the teacher, and bowed low to them both before walking calmly to his seat. He slid into his chair gracefully and stretched back in his chair before lacing his long, slender fingers together and resting them on the desk. OOC: "Sou da ne": "Yeah, I guess so"
I finally pulled out my dad's laptop to post ^^ If you guys want to write up a reaction from the teacher then I'll leave that to you :D *braces himself* EDIT: Holy crap, that was WAY too long >_> Sorry! |

She hardly payed attention to much that he said, but he was interesting enough to keep her entertained; this was relatively rare, for Lulu.
The teacher didn't seem quite as amused. "Vladimir," he said dryly, one eyebrow raised. "Tardy again, are we? And on the first day, too. An excellent start-- I can only hope this isn't an indication of the way you plan to behave for the rest of the term." He turned back to his desk and wrote something down, then turned back to the class. "Interesting speech. And who has the other side of this argument?" Some poor student would be left without anything to argue, Lulu decided suddenly. This sounds much more interesting than medical reform. Besides, if she failed, she could always argue that she hadn't known about this speech ahead of time. It was the truth, after all. "World hunger," she began, her feet still kicked up on the desk. She spoke no louder than usual, but the class quieted to hear her-- she had half-expected someone to shout, 'hey! That's my topic!' but nobody did. "People have been starving as long as there have been people." She paused, half to keep the class's attention and half to decide what to say next. "And there have always been people who've wanted to fix it. There have always been people who've wanted to unite the human race against this common foe, who've wanted to give all that they have to fight this killer of millions." Here Lulu paused again, though this time it was entirely for effect. She already knew what she was going to say. "All of these people have failed, and they'll continue to do so." She stood up from her reclining position and slowly began to make her way to the front of the classroom. The students' eyes followed her the whole way. "See, it's like this. There's only so much food, right? And it's all fine to say that we should share it-- but for every person who truly wants to do that, there are two more who don't. So we can talk and talk and some of us--" she nodded her head in a brief salute to Vladimir-- "can act... but as long as it's not all of us, there's really no point. And I think you guys know as well as I do that it'll never be all of us, because that's simply unrealistic." Several of the students were nodding in response to Lulu's words. Many of them were students who would normally never have agreed with a view so out-there. "Now, you-- yes, you," she said, making direct eye contact with the young woman nearest her. "You hear all about world hunger, right?" The girl nodded. "You say you want to help solve it, right?" Another nod. "But do you really want to give up those nice clothes you're wearing to feed some brat you're never gonna meet?" The girl shook her head emphatically. "So what's the obvious solution?" There was a pause as the girl considered this, "...Not to?" "Exactly." Lulu's speech was not as long as Vladimir's-- it was only about five minutes-- but everyone except the teacher was hanging off her every word. Survival of the fittest seemed to be her main point here, though she wasn't entirely sure; she was making it all up as she went. Still, it was an unusual view, and most of these people would probably realize, once she was done, that they didn't agree with a single word she'd said. For now, though, that didn't matter. They were all sitting in stunned silence after her final statement: "Someone has to starve... and better them than you." With that, she inclined her head in a gesture that said, "I'm done, so clap." The class obeyed, and she returned silently to her seat and propped her feet back up on the desk. She turned halfway to the girl sitting next to her, who'd presented her speech just minutes before. "Well?" she asked, one eyebrow raised. "Passable?" OOC:XD That's okay. Long posts make the world go 'round.
And yes, Lulu is the evil twin. And by the way-- if Vlad remembers faces really well, he might recognize Lulu and think she's Leah with a major personality change or something. Just keep in mind that Leah was at the academy last year. ^^ Someone's bound to recognize her... Or maybe not, since Leah was so quiet and sky. Maybe nobody even realized she was there. XD That could work, actually... well, whatever. |

The golden glow faded from Aurelia, and she was herself again. She sat back down in her seat, and the teacher passed her a rubric with her grade on it--a B+. Not bad. Aurelia couldn't help but laugh at Vlad- he did have a flair for being fashionably late. Aurelia raised an eyebrow when Lulu began to talk. She's arguing against stopping world hunger? Whoa! She was considerably surprised at both Vlad and Lulu's speeches, especially considering they had been flying by the seat of their pants. Aurelia nodded at Lulu. "Definately. Unless the teacher hates you or something." She then sat back, thinking, Agh, why won't this class go by faster? So boring... |

The girl was another of the mumbling, stare-at-your-shoes type. After Vlad and Lulu's speeches, of course, the class was relatively disappointed and had returned to their previous antics, which consisted of wadding up paper balls and throwing them at each other, passing notes beneath desks, and randomly hitting their fellow classmates. "Not my kind of scene," she continued, turning back to Aurelia. "So, whaddya' say?" |
