I hope this works as a starting post... Morrighan will be introduced next post.
Patrick looked around suspiciously before he ran through the column to get to Platform 9 3/4. Not because he thought any muggles were looking at him, no... It was because he felt that someone he knew (and would like to avoid) was nearby. He had heard rumors that she would be teaching at Hogwarts this year, but so far, they had gone unsubstantiated. Still, that shock of long, red hair had scared the bejeezus out of him. Assuring himself that either he was making it up or it was someone else, he strode through the column to the platform. He boarded the train calmly, and put all his things up in the rack of an empty booth. He then sat down and leaned back, taking a quick nap while he waited for boothmates. |

Maybe I misunderstood.... but I certainly can't say I'm disappointed to get rid of the one-eyed revenge-bent kid in a class he should've taken the previous year.... ^_~
Felix suddenly spun around, just catching a glimpse of a shock of red hair before it disappeared into the train. He rubbed his shoulder briefly and cast a look of resigned annoyance in the general direction before turning back to face his family. Didn't even notice he ran into me, he thought with a sigh. Felix felt a hand tousle his hair and looked up to see his brother wearing the same grin he always wore. "Don't worry about it, he was probably in a rush," Crispian said when he was sure his brother could see his lips. Felix returned the grin and simply nodded. It seemed at times that the brothers could read each other's minds. That helped, because Crispian was always mixing up hand signs. When he first tried to explain the Sorting ceremony, Felix ended up running to his mother with a horrified expression on his face, thinking that he'd have to eat an old hat and wear a whole chicken on his head to determine which House he would be in. "Bye the way," Crispian signed, looking around the platform suspiciously, "I heard some interesting people are gonna get on the train, and something interesting will happen." Felix blinked confusedly and furrowed his eyebrows. "Just keep an eye out, eh?" Crispian tousled his brother's hair again. "I almost wish I were going with you," he added with a laugh. "Me too, me too!" squeaked Maximilian, clearly frustrated. "Next year, Max," his sister Elayne said, patting him on the shoulder. He said nothing, crossing his arms. Felix seemed to enjoy this greatly, however, his silent grin widening. He glanced over his shoulder at the train, then turned back to his family, tapping his watch-less wrist with a finger. "Ah! Quite right, you'd better be off then!" proclaimed their father, Walter Nash. His wife, Belle, nodded with a smile. "I'm sure you haven't, but don't worry if you've forgotten anything. We'll send it straightaway! Off you go, then. Ah! Not you, Max!" She grabbed her youngest by the wrist, just as he was trying to sneak off between his two older siblings. Elayne gave an almost guilty smile before running to catch up with Felix. They waved goodbye from the doorway before stepping into the car and searching for an empty compartment. Felix looked in one and gave a start, pointing through the window at the red-headed boy who was already napping in the corner. "Oh, this one?" Elayne asked. "Alright!" Felix shook his head furiously, but it was too late -- she was already shoving her trunk onto the luggage rack. Felix slammed the palm of his hand into his face, but joined his sister anyway. "I sure wonder what Crispy was talking about," she signed as Felix plopped down deliberately on the exact opposite corner from the red-haired kid. "Probably just saying something to get us excited, isn't he?" Felix signed, raising an eyebrow. "Or he just messed up his signs again." Elayne giggled. She corrected Crispian almost as often as Felix did. She responded with by raising her eyebrows and giving a rather non-committal tilt of of her head, which Felix understood to mean "Maybe. It's hard to tell." Felix sometimes worried that he and his sister actually could read each other's minds. At that moment, unknown to them, a certain wizard under cover of a disillusionment spell slipped onto the train at the very back.... OOC: Ack it's been too long... |

She chuckled. "Oh, brother. Bob, I still think he's mad about that game of Wizard's Chess at Christmas."
Bob looked up from where he sat on her luggage, rather angry expression on his face. "Nyaaaow." "Or maybe it was that Quidditch scrimmage we had last month? Or that game of Baseball?" "Nyaow." Morrigan sighed, heaving her rolling luggage to a start again, not an easy task with all the stuff in it and Bob on top. "I know he'll hate it, but I think I should sit with him and get him to drop it before we get to Hogwarts. He needs to get over losing stupid games to me." "Nyaaaa-aow." --- Patrick woke up with a start when the siblings' luggage hit the rack. "Uh... oh, hullo," He said with a wobbly smile, unhappy that he had been woken up so soon, but making an effort to be cordial. "I'm Patrick Hennessey, pleased to meet you! And you are..." Suddenly, the booth doors slammed open, and the largest orange tabby that Patrick had ever seen in his life leaped in. His cat, Faye, crawled out from his pocket to say hello, but he was not anywhere near as happy. In fact, his face was frozen in a sort of horrified expression. "Y-you--!" He stuttered, pointing out the doors. "You're not supposed to be here!!" Morrighan completely ignored her worked-up half brother, and said to the siblings, "Morrighan Hennessey, Dueling Club sponsor this year, and this idiot's older sister." She then put her stuff on the rack, and sat down next to her brother. "B-b-but, but--" Patrick spluttered, "I thought that you were an Auror for the Ministry or something?" Morrighan shrugged. "Temporary reassignment at the request of the headmaster." She looked at Bob, who had picked up poor Faye bodily and was carrying her around like a cat toy. "Bob, play nice." He obeyed, and set the wet Faye down in her owner's lap gently. "What a gentleman!" Morrighan said, pleased. Bob shot her a look, and meowed plaintively. He then leaped onto Felix's lap, and then lay his bulk over the siblings, cutting off all circulation in their legs. Morrighan laughed and said, "He likes you! Just, ah, tell me if you want him off, 'cause you're gonna need some help with him." Patrick felt like fainting. God have mercy on my soul, Patrick thought. The rumors were true! A whole year of her... I don't know if my heart can take it... |

I was hoping Artemis could've been rivals or something with Morrighan, but if he was to be a friend of Crispian's then at best he'd have been a 2nd year when Morrighan was in 7th.... Still, he could definitely have already been well-known....
Felix exhaled suddenly as the giant mass of fur landed on his legs. It was definitely heaver than it looked, and that in itself was an impressive feat. He and his sister exchanged a look that was in between "horrified" and "nervously curious," and he got that strange feeling as though she was reading his mind again. She gave a nod that seemed to say, Yeah, this is probably what he was talking about. Felix tilted his head slightly and scratched the back of his head. Elayne bit her lip as though pondering a particularly confusing question, then turned to the lady that had just burst into the room. "Excuse me, ah, I'm Elayne Nash, and this is my older brother, Felix. You'll forgive me, but you...." Elayne hesitated; she couldn't quite form her thoughts into a question that wasn't blatantly rude. She glanced at Felix for support, but he just shrugged, looking as much at a loss for words as his sister. Elayne steeled herself, and tried again: "You aren't a student, then?" Felix closed his eyes. He didn't see what she'd asked, but the atmosphere felt like her choice of wording hadn't improved in the slightest. Resisting the urge to cover his face with his hand, he instead stroked the enormous ball of fur that was flattening his legs. He never much cared for animals, but they always seemed to like him for some inexplicable reason. It was a long time before that he decided simply to accept his fate. |

I'm pretty sure it's correct, but just looks strange >_> And yeah, she's really tall... like, above six feet...
"Nice to meet you," Patrick said to the sblings, still looking stunned. Morrighan nodded and smiled. She took no offense to the question, as she knew that she was very odd. Her strange clothes and towering height was probably scaring the poor children to death. "No, I'm not a student. I am what I said I am, and if I wasn't, then why would I say I am?" She smacked her forehead a few seconds later, after realizing what she had said. "That's Eminem, oh goodness." "But Morrigan, I was the one..." Morrighan shrugged. "Well, they already know who I am in any case, no thanks to you." "No thanks to me?? I just told the truth!" Morrighan rolled her eyes. "It's not exactly something you spread around, dipstick." |

Elayne turned slowly to look at her brother, making sure only he could see her cringe. These two were certainly a strange couple, and that one of them was an ex-auror was just a bit too much. In return, Felix raised an eyebrow and gave her a rather reproving look, as though to say You made us sit in here, ya know. She crossed her arms and turned back to the strange people. As always, she was determined to make the best of things. "So, Dueling Club, then?" she asked, almost timidly. "Is that all you're going to do?" Felix smacked her arm lightly. "I -- I mean, that sounds really interesting!" Elayne blushed slightly -- she always had a hard time not saying exactly what was on her mind. "Are we -- er -- going to get to see you anywhere else?" She half glanced at Felix before deciding to add, "I don't know if I'm going to be old enough for dueling, you see!" OOC: I really hadn't intended to RP Elayne this much... I guess I should go ahead and make her a character sheet as well.... |

I can't wait for the others to post so that the train can leave!! >__> Morrighan nodded. "Yeah... that's all I'm doing for now." Well, I can't have them knowing that I'm there to help beef up the security. I mean, I don't wanna freak the poor kids out, so... I guess I'll leave it at that. "I'm pretty sure you'll see me around," Morrighan said, smiling. "I might help the Quidditch teams practice, and I hear that Hagrid guy's got some interesting beasties." Her eyes lit up. Patrick's eyes sparkled as well. "Yes, Hogwarts is a wonderful place~!" His face fell. "...Slightly less wonderful now that I'll have you around. You, the perfect one..." [/size:4afb21b30e]He mumbled and grumbled. "One thing, though," Morrighan looked the two children straight in the eyes. "If you've got the heart," here, she thumped her chest. "You can do anything. Believe me." She nodded and smiled, with a touch of sadness. "Ha... I guess I'm older than I think I am, 'cause if I'm not mistaken, I just went all old fart on you and gave a lecture... or something." Patrick's stomach grumbled, and Bob leaped over and stared Morrighan down. "All right, jeez. I'll call the cart witch." She leaned out into the hall and called for service. "I'll treat, if that's okay. I've got more money than all of you combined, probably, so it's only the right thing to do." -- Morrighan had always loved dragons. She hoarded books about them when she was little, and would only draw them and people, when all the other kids were drawing puffalumps and kitties and other kiddy things. She didn't care what the others thought of her obsession; she admired the dragons' wild beauty... no, she worshipped it. To the point where, when she was nine years old, Morrighan tried to fly just like her favorite beast. Obviously, not being a dragon, she fell the three stories from the top of the fire tower she had jumped from. She broke most of the bones in her body, and suffered a concussion as well. Luckily, she survived, thanks to the fact that her mother was skilled in healing magic. When she woke up, her first words to her mother were, "That was a close one, Ma... I saw heaven." Her mother laughed, tears streaming down her face. "...Really?" "Yeah. It was a nice place, but I don't think I'm ready to go there yet." "Good. You've got a long life ahead of you. Now promise me you'll stop trying to do the impossible and be a dragon? Please?" "I'm sorry, but I can't do that, ma." "Wh... what, Morrighan?" Her mother broke into sobs again. Morrighan smiled weakly. "I won't stop trying... I don't think I can. But I promise you, I won't try that ever again... It hurt." OOC:A little background on Morrighan's stubborn determination and toughness... and her love of the wild beasties xD
Ohhhh... I think I actually though of doing something similar as a kid. Thank God I didn't, unlike Morrighan, I don't think I'd've survived ;>; |

Elayne had opened her mouth to tell Morrighan that she needn't pay for them when Felix subtly elbowed her in the ribs, covering her gasp with a rather believable fake cough. She shot him a very nasty look and signed, "What was that for!?" "Only adults and lovers fight over the bill," he signed back. "As we are neither...." Elayne's grimace was enough to let him know she understood the rest: Why not save a few galleons? Though she really hated to take advantage of people like that, she had to admit that Felix was rarely wrong when it came to money. He had definitely inherited their mother's shrewd business sense, and had long since learned to trust him on matters of money. He was always stopping her from "wasting her money on frivolous things" like candies, and when she was finally able to buy new set of dress robes she'd had her eye on, she couldn't thank her brother enough. Still, she frowned at him and received an almost smug smile in return. "Err -- thank you so much," she said instead. "We really appreciate it!" Elsewhere on the train, a certain, invisible someone had just finished preparation, and was waiting for the train to finally start.... OOC: PS: I think I may throw Genji in somewhere else on the train, just so he's in the RP. I wasn't going to RP him, but I guess the more characters the better. He'll be a sort of side character, in case he's needed, I guess.... |

Can I? Then, they would all know each other and stuff. THE LEGENDARY THREEEEE D: ...or something "You're welcome," Morrighan answered warmly. "Get whatever you want." Patrick folded his ams and brooded. "Damn showoffy older sister..."[/size:f1c3406663] Morrighan reached over and pulled at his cheeks. "You better cheer up, Mr. Grumpy Gills! Or Bob will beat you up. He's getting sick of you whining." "Yeah right, like a cat can tell..." Patrick looked over to see a strange gleam in Bob's eye as he unsheathed his claws. "Mrowww," Bob said, narrowing his eyes at Patrick. Meaning: You wanna try me, punk? Patrick put on a large, nervous fake grin, and put his hands up defensively. "Look, I'm happy! Happy as happy can be!! Please don't kill me, you striped mountain lion...!!" Bob sighed, and walked out of the cabin. "...I told you so," Morrighan said, just as the cart witch arrived. All Patrick could do was sit there with his mouth open. "All... all right. How about we start from a clean slate, sis. I don't want Bob to kill me in my sleep." "Deal," Morrighan said. "I'm glad you're finally better. I mean, I couldn't take a whole train ride of that." |

McGonagall can be all like "Albus, are you quite sure this was a good idea?" Oho that could be fantastic. I mean, Mo's a metamorphmagus, and we're both animagi. It reminds me a lot of the whole Potter-Black-Lupin thing, but it's not like we planned it that way, so.... Unless Mo disagrees, I think that'd be an excellent bit of history
When the witch with the cart arrived, Felix didn't hesitate to take a handful of his favorites and subtly throwing most of it in his bag for later. Of course, he was not a thief or a con-artist; he only took what he honestly thought would be acceptable in that situation. Still, Elayne made very certain that she took considerably less than her dear brother. "Thank you again, really," she said to Morrighan as she sat back in her seat. "From both of us." Felix nodded his agreement, holding up a half-finished chocolate frog as, perhaps, an explanation for why he didn't add anything more concrete. OOC: hm... there's really not a whole lot we can do right now, at least until the train actually starts moving.... |

Morrighan nodded again. "Hey, 's'okay." 'I took sign language in school,' she signed to Felix. 'Honestly, it was so I could talk to my friends from across the room.' She frowned. "It's been a while, so, ah, forgive me if I said something extremely rude instead of what I intended." Patrick raised an eyebrow, taking a whole bunch of stuff from the cart. "I bet you're one of those people that can only remember the curses." "Yup," Morrighan said with a bright smile. "That's... not something to be proud of, sister..." The cart witch said the total, and Morrighan handed over a small sack, telling the witch to keep the change. The witch's eyes widened when she opened the bag, and she walked away saying "Thank you" like a mantra. "I think you went overboard," Patrick remarked. Morrighan shrugged. "Feh. It's just money." OOC:I dunno either... Maybe we should just start the train and have the new people (aka Chris and Mo) just do one long post or just start from where we are, assuming they got on the train normally?

Hooray for roleplay-CPR. Maybe we can keep this thing alive. And, as a side note, I would absolutely ADORE the chance to play a canonical teacher. Dunno which, but just about any one would do. |

Amelia: Eeeeexcellent... >:) Felix smiled genuinely at Morrighan, giving her a thumbs up to signify that she hadn't made any horrific mistakes. It was always exciting for him to find someone that could use sign language without him teaching. Even if they only knew a little, he appreciated every attempt -- as long as it wasn't made-up nonsense with no other purpose than to make fun of him, of course. When Morrighan made the comment about money, Felix looked very much like he wanted to argue with her. However, a sharp jab in the side and an even sharper look from Elayne changed his mind. Yes, he decided, It probably is better not to fight about money with the person who just paid for your lunch. Felix suddenly glanced out the window. His sister followed his gaze, but didn't notice anything until she felt the great lurch that meant the Hogwarts Express was in motion. She had not yet figured out how he was able to notice those things, and had even asked him about it once -- the answer she received, of course, was little more than a shrug. Since then, she has simply let it stay at that, and decided that it must be similar to the way she can hear things whereas he cannot. "Ah, we're finally off!" she exclaimed giddily. She turned to Patrick with a broad smile upon her face. "I'm so excited to be going back, aren't you -- err...." Her smile faded as she realized that she either didn't know the boy's name, or had forgotten it. Not having quite as good a memory as her brother, she leaned towards the latter. OOC: PS: Chris, you could probably do a fantastic McGonagall |

Also to make the age disconnect between Morrighan and him biggerer. "Finally," Morrighan said, half a chocolate frog hanging out of her mouth. "I was beginning to worry." Patrick clasped his hands together. "Oh yes, I'm super excited~!!" A strange gleam passed across his eyes. "You... you forgot my name?" He pushed up his glasses, then pointed at the siblings. "I'll say it one more time, so don't you forget it! Patrick Hennessey, Ravenclaw Year Six, Prefect!!" "And then you say, 'You remember me forever,' and shove your pumpkin ice cream cone in his face and run away," Morrighan added. Patrick looked horrified. "That's terribly mean, and besides, this is good ice cream." OOC:Okk so can we just get to Hogwarts already, unless you want something to happen on the train? Evangeline shrugged, but didn't answer. She glanced down at her watch, which read 10:51. The train station was just coming into sight. "Angie," she said uneasily, "allez rapidement." Angie shrugged her narrow, leather-jacketed shoulders and flicked a few strands of short red hair behind one ear. "J'essaye," she snapped, irritably. "Les voitures damnées sont de ma manière." Saying nothing, Evangeline just held on tight to her friend-- and felt the bike speed up, as she'd known it would, despite the girl's griping. Angie may have been a rebel without a cause, a teenage miscreant in desperate need of an attitude adjustment... but she was also one of Evangeline's best friends, and probably just as worried as she was. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime (her watch said it had been two minutes), they pulled up in front of the station. Evangeline pulled her helmet off and tried to give it back to Angie, who swatted it away. "Nah," she said. "Vous aurez besoin de lui si vous trouvez une moto que aimez." They shared a good laugh over this: both of them knew that Evangline would be doing little riding while she was here, as she'd had to leave her own beloved motorcycle at home. (What Angie didn't know was that broomsticks could go just as fast, if not faster. But, alas, she was a Muggle, so her indignance couldn't be helped.) When she'd heard, Angie had insisted on coming all the way to England with her, even driving her to the station, apparently under the impression that Brits couldn't be trusted with her best friend. It was one of those rare shows of humanity that Angie gave every now and then, and Evangeline had to admit that it'd be nice to have the helmet. Just a sort of sentimental touch for her new dorm-- not that she was sentimental. "Je m'ennuierai de vous, Angie." "Ah, a fermé vers le haut," came the automatic reply, though Evangeline could tell that she was pleased. "Allez font l'enfer pour les anglais." Evangeline grinned and nodded. Then, without so much as a wave, she turned and pulled her trunk from the back of the motorbike, where it had been hung, and left. 10:56. It didn't take her long to find Platform 9. And Platform 10. But Platform 9 and 3/4 was nowhere in sight. Dumbledore, she remembered, had mentioned something about the barrier between the two. She hadn't been paying attention. (Perhaps, she mused, she should have.) When, at 10:59, the magical platform had not yet revealed itself, Evangeline let out a frustrated yell and kicked the barrier, expecting to end up with nothing better than a sharp pain in her foot. So she was surprised when her foot went right through. It was followed quickly by the rest of her, and she was pleased to see that she hadn't missed the train. Unfortunately, though the train was still technically here, it didn't appear to be boarding. In fact, now that she looked at it, it appeared to be moving. And that was ridiculous, because how was she supposed to get onto a moving train? Dropping a few choice words that made a little boy nearby stare at her unabashedly (his mother was glaring angrily and seemed about to curse her), Evangeline ran. She was able to catch up to the doors near the front before the train really got going, but they were closed. And the platform, she couldn't help but notice, was ending in rather a shorter amount of space than she was comfortable with. She muttered something under her breath, pointing her wand at the doors. Nothing happened. With a sound that was half-sigh, half-shout, she thwacked the thin piece of wood hard against the edge of her trunk, and tried again. This time, the doors sprang open. The alarmed face of a girl poked out, and a hand was extended toward Evangeline. She took it, and swung herself easily onto the train, suitcase still in hand and helmet tucked beneath her arm. "Thanks," she said, when she was safely aboard. "Wouldn't have been much fun, missing the jump and crackin' my head open. Still, I guess I could'a called in dead to school, huh?" She grinned. The girl did not return the smile. She was, she proclaimed, in a loud and reedy voice, not amused. So Evangeline spent the next several minutes listening to the girl-- a red-headed Hufflepuff whose face had, by now, turned roughly the color of a tomato-- lecture her about punctuality. She had almost made up her mind to simply walk away and see if the girl noticed, when the lecture stopped abruptly. Evangeline glanced around to see that several people in the compartment (there weren't many) were staring at her. "Listen, you're not supposed to be here," said the red-head, as though it had been Evangeline's choice to stick around. "This is the prefects' compartment. Go to the back of the train, where you're supposed to be, and I'll forget this ever happened." "Ooh," said Evangeline, wide-eyed with mock-wonder. "No more lectures? Really? How very generous of you." Helmet still tucked beneath her arm, she dropped into an overly dramatic bow, flourish and all. "I'm eternally in your debt. Or something. See ya around, Red." Then she turned and headed off to the back of the train, ignoring the red-head's glare and the fact that she'd just pulled her wand out. Luckily, the prefect had decided for some reason that hexing Evangeline was not the best course of action, and so Evangeline's trip to the back of the train was relatively uneventful. She tried three compartments, all of which were full (though when she opened one of them, which appeared to be full of first-year boys, they had immediately tried to kick one of their friends out to make room for her... she'd simply winked at them and moved on, listening to them all but pummel the poor kid who'd not wanted to give up his seat), and on the fourth compartment, she struck gold. "Hey there," she said, looking in at the crowded-but-not-quite-full compartment. They appeared to be pigging out on a huge and endless pile of sweets and munchies. This was, Evangeline decided, the right compartment. "Room for one more?" OOC:*"I can't believe your dad's making you go to a school in England. It's ridiculous."
"Angie, step on it." "I'm trying. Damned cars keep getting in my way." ... "Nah, you'll need it if you find a bike you like." "I'll miss you." "Oh, shut up. ...Go give those Brits hell." And so enters Evangeline. Tried to explain why she didn't show up at their compartment right away... lame, but whatever. She's totally the type to miss the train. |
