Name: Avia’dol’inrokini
Core Name: Adolin
Age: 34
Race: Chiss
Occupation: Jedi Master

Physical Description: Adolin stands at about 6 feet in height, and due to the rapid metabolism of his race, is rather lean. His hair, jet black, is always neatly kept out of face, but not combed flat against his head. His skin is blue and his eyes glow red. Many people find these eyes imposing, and the fact that he is taller than most people does not help.

He wears the traditional robes of a Jedi Master, yet they have a greenish tint as opposed to the usual brown or black, due to his Inrokini lineage. His lightsabers, however, are both violet. They have both been modified beyond their original design (as is a Chiss wont) so that the beam is highly focused and the hilt itself is very difficult to destroy.

History: Adolin was born the Chiss Capital of Csilla. He was born into the Inrokini Royal family, and was taught many things in his early life. Chiss mature quicker than other races, and by the time he was three, he knew many things that a human the age of 8 probably would not know, a typical Chiss youth. When the Jedi came for him that year, he did not suffer any emotional trauma, as Chiss hold logic above emotions.

He was taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant by Chiss Jedi Master Voss. Master Voss was different from the young student, as he was a Chiss who had learned to accept his emotions. Voss not only trained him in the ways of the Force, but also in the comparison of his Chiss culture with the Core Worlds and other races. He wanted to make sure that Adolin was not as xenophobic as the rest of his blue-skinned kin. He needn’t have worried, because Adolin wanted to know it all. Adolin wanted to know everything about the worlds and the systems, all the places he had never seen or been or heard of, and Voss did his best to oblige him. However, one thing Voss had been unable to teach him was how to reach into his emotions. Adolin almost stubbornly refused to acknowledge them, for no reason other than he didn’t want to.

Voss one day noted that Adolin didn’t play or socialize with the other children, preferring to be alone or in lessons with Master Voss. As it turns out, it wasn’t that Adolin was shy or reclusive, it was simply that he couldn’t speak Basic. Adolin decided he wouldn’t waste his time if they didn’t understand him. Voss laughed at this strange quirk and began to instruct his young pupil in the Basic language, as well as some of the finer points of Chiss. He also used this instance as a lesson in perseverance, to show Adolin that there was no harm in trying. Adolin took this lesson to heart, and it was at the core of his beliefs later in life that an effort to make peace should always be tried before conflicts.

By the age of 11, and to no one’s surprise, he was selected as Master Voss’ Padawan learner. Throughout their years as master and student, Voss was often surprised by the incredible amount of insight that Adolin displayed, and his powerful connection to the living Force. Adolin used his intuition to determine ways to defeat his enemies with non-violent solutions. For example, on a mission to negotiate peace on the warring planet Melida, Adolin correctly assumed that the Melida would agree to end hostilities if they believed the Jedi had been their benefactors long ago, and that peace would give them their continued benevolence. With no threats or violence, Adolin stopped a planet from destroying several of its nations.

He was able to do this so often and so successfully, that by the time he was 17, he had only been forced to fight in 5 battles. He would always manage to manipulate or pacify his opponents before the need to battle arose. His combat prowess was not to be doubted, however, but his intelligence and critical analysis were his most powerful weapons in his arsenal. In those instances where he had to use his combat prowess, he quickly defeated his opponents without seriously harming them. His preference is always to achieve victory through non-physical methods.

By the time he was 20, he became a Jedi Knight. He and Master Voss remained close friends, though, and from time to time would be sent as peace keepers, as they were the most skilled at it. However, on a mission to settle a dispute between the settlers of Tatooine and the unpredictable and violent Sand People, their luck seemed to have run out. During a tense standoff, a settler accidently pulled the trigger on his blaster and shot one of the Sand People’s diplomats. The negotiations broke down immediately, and a battle broke out. Adolin drew his lightsabers and stood in the center, using the Soresu and Niman forms to become a “leaf blown in the wind of the Force.” He began deflecting blaster fire from each side into the sky. However, the battle would not be stopped that easily. Voss used his own Niman style, but was not as adept at Soresu, and was far weaker at deflecting blaster fire. A blaster bolt made it through Voss’ defense and destroyed his heart and lungs, killing him almost instantly. The death of a Jedi Master was enough to bring a halt to the battle. The Sand People recognized the power and respect of the man killed, and the settlers, guilty about having started this battle, threw down their weapons immediately. Adolin, while demonstrating a very high level of emotional control, was deeply saddened by the loss of his longtime friend and former Master. He spent many days in meditation upon returning from that mission. One night, he felt his Master’s presence drifting on the wind. He searched deeper into the Force and soon realized that Voss was now a part of the Force itself, and that grieving was pointless. The burden of his friend’s loss no longer flowing in his mind, he took the Master trials shortly after, and then joined the Jedi Council when he was 27. He has since instructed many young Jedi and been on several peacekeeping missions.

Personality: Due to his memories of Csilla and his Chiss cultural background, he has the typical Chiss emotional restraint and is very polite. However, unlike most Chiss, he has not developed the compulsive need for conformity his race is known for. He enjoys free thoughts and creative ideas of any sort. He does not use contractions at all, and is known for obeying logic before emotion.

Lightsaber Style: Adolin has two lightsabers which he uses only when necessary. This follows both his Jedi teachings and his Chiss military wisdom in understanding the failings of pre-emptive attacks. However, he is efficient and deadly with them when he needs to be. He is a master of Form III first and foremost, given his almost pacifistic nature. However, he is also a master of both the Form VI Niman and Jar’kai. This allows him to wield both his blades with ease, and such that he can use other forms with his dual sabers. Also, his powerful attunement to the Force allows him to achieve perfection with his Niman form, allowing him fully become a leaf blown by the Force. He is a known practioner of Form VII Juyo as well, given that his extreme emotional control prevents him from turning to the dark side. He chooses not to engage in this form unless he needs to however, simply because it is so, as he believes, needlessly aggressive. His styles make him an excellent lightsaber to lightsaber duelist, as well as being able to protect himself with and almost impervious shield of lightsaber flurries.

Side note: does anyone else feel this is too short? I'm not particularly happy with this one yet...
