Name: Valerie “Give Me a Stupid Nickname and I’ll Cut Your Throat” Heckett Age: 33 (Not that she’ll ever admit to it. As far as she's concerned, she's 20-something) Alliance: The Royal Navy (Actually, it’s Admiral Griffin, since he’s the one who pays her.) Position: Pirate Hunter Description: Valerie has a wild-look about her, even when she is primped, and supposedly, poised. Her blonde, windblown hair can never quite be tamed, and the way her eyes light up when she grins can only be described as feral. She is by no means delicate-looking. Her shoulders are broad from swimming, her hands are rough and calloused from fighting and working with rigging, and her skin is still a deep tan from all her years at sea. However, she is quite obviously a woman and takes pride in her natural beauty, and other feminine wiles. Valerie is a free-spirit. She loves to be on a ship at sea, and doing what she pleases. She can be cultured, to an extent, but that side only surfaces when it is required of her. Her motives are usually at least one of two things: money, or boredom. Heckett hates stupid nicknames, and never uses them for those she has any respect for. She is constantly stirring up as much trouble she can afford when she is not working. Valerie does not take orders from anyone unless she wants to, or unless they're orders from Admiral Griffin. After all, he's the one who controls her paycheck, and keeps her neck out of the noose. Many describe Valerie as wild and crazy due to her tendency to act in a wild and crazy manner. However, there is the undeniable fact the she is cunning, and while she seems eccentric and impulsive, in the end, she always wins and pulls through the most impossible situations. At times Valerie will consent to be proper and wear dresses that make breathing hard, and eating impossible. Otherwise she wears navy blue officers' pants and vest, which she leaves unbuttoned (The vest, not the pants for any of you perverts out there... >.>), black boots- which she'll polish if there is absolutely no one around to annoy- and a black long-sleeved shirt with the first few top buttons undone. History: Her father was a second mate, who fell madly in love with a particularly spunky bar maid. He shang-haied her, and they traveled together for years as bunkmates with perks, lots of perks. Valerie was born and raised a pirate. Her first steps were across the poop deck, and her first word was ”˜rum.’ She was raised by the crew, and they taught her everything they knew from rigging to fighting. When she was ten her father was given the first mate slot, and by fifteen he was made captain. When Valerie turned seventeen, she kissed her mother, slapped her father on the back, got drunk with the crew, and then the next morning she left with a pistol, a sword, the clothes on her back and a huge hangover. She was determined to get a ship of her own. After a few years she met a particularly silly pirate captain and out drank him to win his ship, Bonnie Lou. It was not a very big boat, nor was it particularly fast, and the crew was not smartest group of people on the high seas, or the nicest. After quelling a mutiny or two, Captain Heckett and her notorious crew of miscreants set off to do a spot of honest pirating. Her first target was the East India Trading Company's fastest ship, Neptune’s Chariot. They sent up their distress flag and the crew of Neptune’s Chariot fell for the ruse and came to help the Bonnie Lou. As they pulled up along side of her, Valerie jumped onto the side board and demanded the captain to surrender his ship to "Queen of the Seven Seas, Duchess of the Waves, Princess of the Tides, Countess of the Storms, Enemy of the Queen's Navy, Goddess of the Tradewinds, The Villainous Captain of the Bonnie Lou, the Dreaded Pirate Valerie Heckett!" She then gave a long and totally unrehearsed speech of how futile it would be to fight back, and how imminent their defeat was if they did attempt to oppose her, and told them to say their prayers and hope to heaven she would have the benevolence to have mercy on their wretched, cowardly souls and let them try to swim for the nearest island. Naturally, the captain of Neptune's Chariot laughed in her face at the end of Valerie's speech. He told her that he had never heard of the Dread Pirate Hatchet, or whatever she called herself, and that he was going to blow her, and her pathetic pile of wood out of the water. His men had had plenty of time to load their cannons, and when the captain gave the signal every cannon went off and hit the broadside of Valerie's little ship, just like she wanted. During her long, verbose speech most of her crew had snuck around the otherside of Neptune's Chariot and stealthily boarded the ship. When the cannon's went of they recognized that as the signal and swarmed the ship. Valerie and the rest of the crew boarded and they overwhelmed the merchant ship without firing a singal shot. The pirates loaded the crew of the Chariot onto the sinking Bonnie Lou, and Valerie bid her first ship and the pompous sailors adieu. Captain Heckett sailed away in Neptune's Chariot wearing the former captain's clothing. (She had left him on the Bonnie Lou in his underwear.) She had easily won the loyalty and the respect of her crew that day and they pillaged and plundered everything in sight for many happy years. Captain Heckett ruled the seas! Feared and awed, the Royal Navy could not touch her no matter how hard they tried. She always seemed to slip through their fingers. She was easily the best of the worst. Unfortunately, that was the problem. It was too easy. This realization hit Valerie, now 29, one night as she gazed at the heaps of gold, jewels, silks and other lovely, shiny things. She decided that it was time to up the stakes. Captain Heckett decided to commandeer an entire fleet. No one’s quite sure how she managed to pull it off, but she did. That night she hand-delivered the ransom note to Admiral Griffin as he brooded in his bedroom. He commanded the fleet Captain Heckett seized from under his nose. Her demands were reasonable for a pirate. He would arrange to give her a full pardon in exchange for the return of his ships and his crew (who were unharmed, for the most part). She also would serve as a pirate hunter for a considerable fee, but she knew that he could afford to pay her. Of course, there was a catch. Griffin would only seal the deal if Heckett allowed herself to be stripped of her title, and surrendered her entire crew to the Royal Navy. Also, she would not be allowed to commit another felony as long as she lived. Valerie agreed. When Admiral Griffin inquired her motives, she simply replied, “I was bored.” Valerie gave up being captain, sank Neptune’s Chariot and even attended the hangings of her own crew. It was an emotional time period for her, but she pulled through. Money makes everything better, right? She soon set out to fulfill her job, and the best pirate quickly became the enemy of every mother’s son who called himself pirate. She has assisted the Royal Navy in the capture of many pirate ships, and she is living quite well. She is a citizen, not a military officer. She is more of a mercenary of sorts. Other: Whatever happened to all those heaps of gold, jewels, silks and other lovely, shiny things? They’re still in Heckett’s super secret cove. No one’s been able to find it, and the entire crew of Neptune’s Chariot is dead, except for its former Captain, so Heckett is the only one who knows where it is. |

If it makes you feel any better, Dan, I did not read your character profile until you pointed the opposite thing out. Plus, Valerie spawned from Elaina... in some very wierd way... It's just a very freaky coincidence... O.o; |

Everything still looks fine to me, although what happened to the story about taking every single ship in the fleet? Or did I just imagine that? o_O |
