He didn't seem so playful, but he did inquire in a curious tone, "Aren't you tired...?" He asked inquisitively. His walk wasn't scathed, but he continued to traverse the Quidditch field. He began to ponder if he should race her or not. He could easily beat her, but after what happened, he could let her win...
Before she could answer, he stopped in his walk, and answered with a small grin about his face, "Well, if you insist." He then gestured for her to stand beside him for the start of the race. |

He leaned back, lacing his fingers behind his head as his broom floated along slowly with the two students, although several feet above to keep out of their hair and several keep back so he could keep watch (though in truth he was looking at the stars, wishing they were the enchanted ones upon the ceiling of the Great Hall. That sorting better be taking a damned long time, because I won't be happy if I miss that feast. Well... I guess missing the feast wont be too bad, so long as I get there for dessert! Artemis smiled a silly grin and let his tongue fall out of his mouth as he envisioned the plethora of desserts that awaited him -- provided these two don't take their sweet time! No! "Sweet!" I want those sweets!
Artemis decided, however, that it'd be best not to say anything on this subject. When he heard Elise's suggestion, he turned his head slightly to see what Victor would do. He couldn't help himself as he whispered, just barely audibly, "Do it! Go! Go race! Like the wind, fly my pretties! Or something...." He shuddered, realizing he was quoting a Muggle entertainment device, known as a "movie," which was supposedly about a Wizard. He saw parts of it once, while wandering through a muggle shop, and couldn't help but laugh as the creepy looking "witch" melted. It was all preposterous, really. NO self-respecting witch would EVER wear an outfit like that! |

After seeing the trick Etta had used with her wand earlier, Elise took her own out and wrapped her hair in a circular motion, sticking her wand through it to pull it back into a bun. With her hair out of the way, she was ready. With a smirk, Elise glanced at Victor and got ready to run.
"On three, ok?" she said. "One... two..." she began. Elise made a quick dash away from Victor, shouting "THREE!" The girl's light frame carried her quickly and swiftly to the school with ease. However, a root from a nearby tree quickly ended her less than fair lead when her foot caught under it. She fell foward onto her face, a painful 'crack' sounding from her ankle. She shouted as she hit the ground, turning over and grasping her ankle. Her wand fell from her hair, and her goldenrod tresses spilled about the girl's shoulders and onto the grass she lay upon. Elise felt tears building up at the corners of her eyes, but shut her lids tightly to stem the flow. After a moment she opened them once more and tried to stand on her own. She chuckled, putting her hands on her hips. Her frame was slightly lopsided. "I'm fine.. I can still... ouch..." she began, wincing as she dropped onto one knee. <"Damnit...">, she cursed in German. Being the proud, boyish girl that she is, Elise forced herself to stand again and, despite her severe delay, began running againt towards the school. However, her once fast sprint had been reduced to merely a light jog. |

Having been training for 6 years, his figure moved swiftly, yet he restrained himself to follow alongside Elise. He started to slow down and let her gain ground ahead of him, just as he had planned. He was going to let her win, until... CRACK
'That one must of hurt, is she okay?' He thought to himself. He quickened his pace once again, but wasn't able to help her up in time, but saw that her pace was slowed from injury. As he swiftly came up behind where she fell, he endured into a roll onto the ground, snapping his hand to the ground to pick up her wand she left behind. When he came out of the roll, he was soon coming up behind Elise. Seeing now that her injury must of been much worse as it seemed, due to her headstrong-ness, he came up swiftly behind her. Almost as if he was going to pass her. Instead of passing her, as soon as he came beside her, he let out his arms and lifted her figure from the ground. Taking her injured form into his arms, not slowed by the extra weight he carried now. He hurriedly moved to the school's stairway entrance. When he reached the first set of stiars, he slowed, and finally came to a stop. He set her figure down onto the stairs, leaving her body in a reclining position. He wasn't able to tell in the darkness what foot it was that she injured, so he looked up to her with his emerald optic and asked in a calm and soft voice, "Which one...?" His wand was unsheathed and in his hand, he gestured with the tip of it to her feet, his other revealing her own wand that she left behind when she took the fall. He sat it down beside her as he waited for her answer. His feline partner had jumped off his shoulder and onto the ground when Victor snatched Elise up. Elf kept running, but to no avail could catch up to Victor. With no thought of trying to keep up, the cat continued at it's pace, following it's master. |

When she straightened her face was beaming, and she clasped her hands together. "Oh, the possibilities! I'm so proud of you!"
She glanced down the table, and sighed. No food. "Why haven't we started the feast yet?" she grumbled. "Because two of our students and a teacher are still missing," said a reedy voice behind her. Etta turned and saw that the voice belonged to Professor McGonagall. "However, Hagrid just spotted them coming to the castle, so we will start the Sorting." She then turned on her heel, and walked to the Teacher's table. She then disappeared into a room for a moment, and returned with the stool, and the dusty old hat. Etta narrowed her eyes at the Sorting Hat. The Hat had shouted out "RAVENCLAW" and it had just barely brushed against her head. She hated that old rag for that. She was the very first of her family to be in Ravenclaw; the rest had been in Gryffindor. Etta broke the long, proud Gryffindor tradition, and gave her parents more reason's to ignore her. It was already hard to get their attention when you're competing with eleven other brothers and sisters. Etta kept herself busy by chasing the little First Years away from the seat she was saving for Elise. She turned and looked at the door to see if Elise was back yet. There were still plenty of First Years left, so it would take a while. |

Her ankle gave out and she wobbled before falling foward into Victor. She had thrust her arms out in front of herself so that she didn't fall completely into him, but her arms went past his sides and she ended up falling onto him anyway. Elise would've run off if her ankle hadn't been throbbing.
"... it's.. the right one..." she mumbled, her face buried in his robes, her golden hair covering her shoulders and face. |

He quickly placed his arms around her to hold her steady on the stairs. As she mentioned whic hankle it was, he lowered himself along with Elise's limp form carefully onto the steps again. He moved himself over and grabbed her right calf lightly, bringing up her foot to rest on his knees. He carefully took off her footwear, and placed it down beside him. With his other hand he held the wand. He gave it another twirl like before, and spoke out in a whisper, "Episkey".
Within Elise' foot, his magic worked the wonder of reconstruction on her foot. Healing the damaged joint and relieving it of pain. He then sheathed his wand in his pocket and reached down for her shoe. Grasping it in his hand, he brought it up and placed it comfortably on her foot once again. Once done, he delicately removed her foot from his knee, then brought his hands up as if he was making a 'giving up' gesture. He then spoke out cheerfully, "You win." |

He was slightly worried when Elise tripped, but she got up and seemed to be okay. Of course, it soon became clear that this was nothing more than an act, as the young teacher discovered when he saw her being picked up by Victor out of the corner of his eye. I can't tell if that guy is kind or just arrogant, Artemis thought to himself. He shrugged the thought off, however, as this was the second time that he'd healed the young girl's minor wounds. When he arrived by the two at the steps, he rolled off of his broom, landing with a flourish with his feet safely on the ground, his robes swirling around him. He pushed his hair back, out of his face -- he hadn't put any gel in it that morning, due to his disguise, and so it was laying rather flat since the spell had worn off. Though he wanted to go to his chambers and fix it, his hunger overruled that possibility.
Artemis waited a second after seeing Victor's gesture, but decided that he wanted to hurry to the Great Hall while they were still doing the sorting (he could vaguely hear the hat's shoutings, and could easily hear the obnoxious suck--students as they yelled in triumph at having another member of their house). He stepped towards Elise and knelt down to her, offering his arm. "I shall escort you two into the Great Hall," Artemis said warmly, glad to finally be back at the castle. "Now lets haul ass upstairs before the sorting finishes, I want to be there the moment that the food arrives on the plates!" After saying this he winked at the two students. He suddenly felt awkward, since he was no longer a student and was about to be surrounded by those who were -- Many of these students he knew. He then contemplated whether or not this was a good thing... |

Her cerulean eyes flashed and slowly looked upwards as she saw the teacher approach. The girl's face felt slightly red as the man brushed his hair aside; he was very handsome, as she had just noted. Shaking her head, Elise pushed the thoughts out of her head, although her face still felt slightly warm. Since her ankle still felt sore, she felt it woudln't hurt to have some aid...
"O-ok.." she stammered, taking Artemis' arm and using it to help her stand. "Th...anks..." she mumbled, turning her face away from him. |

He followed behind the two, keeping somewhat of a distance as he continued the stairs up. His eye kept locked to the solid surface of the steps, as his pace was slower than the teacher and student's. His hands were laid into his pockets, and his facial features became grim and sorrow-filled once again. His upper body was tilted forward from the incline of the steps, his robes brushing along the steps fluantly as he came to the top. Artemis and Elise had already entered and were walking to their appropriate places. He looked to the floor again, then to the opposite direction, seeing where the Gryffindor table lied.
He piveted, now turning his back from the two acquaintances, his elbows cocked up as his hands were still in his pockets. He came to a stop to see a set of feet on the floor in front of him. Big feet... He slowly looked up to see a rump of a belly, then a thick, curly, black beard. Then a round head, about the size of a lop-sided watermelon with grizzly black eyebrows. It was Hagrid, the one he 'pushed' on the stairs. The big man held out his two suitcases to Victor. His eye widened, then his head kicked to one side, he then brought up a hand and patted the side of Hagrid's humongous arm. Then apologized to him. Hagrid understood his problem well, for he too, had heard the story of Victor's eye. Victor then relieved him of the cases, and walked himself to his table. The various chants of the tables started to wear on his nerves, for he had heard it for quite some time. To him, it wasn't a big deal what clan you were placed with, but what power you posessed that mattered. He looked down the long table of the Gryffindorians, and found no seat avail. He let out a sigh, letting it slide, he turned and placed his cases, one on top of the other, and sat himself on top of them. Looking down the row of the numerous students he looked back at him strangely. He just gave back his cold and dead stare, obviously showing that he didn't care what they thought, and that he wouldn't answer what they would ask. Another roar came from the students, and he turned to gaze amongst the Ravenclaw table, seeing that Elise was still finding her seat. He frowned slightly, still feeling some of the shame still upon his mind from the incident earlier... Elf, after had been tired-out and worn from all the running about outside the Hogwarts walls, slumped down and took a small nap beside Victor's suitcases. Letting out a small purr of relaxation. |

He noticed Etta had been reserving a seat, and his guess that it was for Elise was correct. Though she was a prankster, she was kind at heart and seemed adept at helping new students feel comfortable. This could have been some ploy to test how well they would react to a prank, but Artemis never dug deeper into this theory, and decided that it was best to choose the better thoughts about the people present, since he was now a teacher. At least, he would go into things with this mindset, so that when things went downhill they'd have much further to go before he got pissed off with each and every one.
"Thank you for saving her a seat, young lady," Artemis said with grin; perhaps he was enjoying being a teacher too much. "Now don't play any pranks on her, she's new and... already less than thrilled at attending, am I right?" He winkied at Elise as he spoke the last words. "She doesn't need any more reasons to dislike this place than she already has. That goes for you too," he said with a look at Dizzy. "Besides, there are PLENTY of first-years for you to torture!" He laughed slightly then walked on towards the staff table, shuddering as he sensed a vicious stare from more than one of those present at said table. Oh right, I interrupted the sorting, didn't I? He didn't even look towards the sorting hat at McGonagall; he knew she was livid. Just like old times... haha.... The other stare likely came from Professor Snape -- the two never got along, especially because Artemis' interest in potions was purely for the purpose of "entertainment," and never saw much use for the other possibilites it had. Now, of course, Artemis had become yet another person to take the job that everyone knew Snape wanted. Despite this, however, Artemis walked with pride and large strides, though he walked as quietly as possible. He sat quietly in the seat reserved for him, and ventured a glance over at Professor Dumbledore, who sat next to him. The old man was smiling as usual, though he developed a good-humored grin as he looked upon Artemis, a young man who had sat on the other side of the Great Hall only a few years ago. The bearded man even allowed himself a slight chuckle, shaking his head slightly. He then leaned in towards Artemis and said at a volume that just the two of them could hear. "Dung bombs in every compartment?" The headmaster asked with a grin and a chuckle. "Artemis, my dear boy, you are sure lucky that you weren't officially working here yet. I might've had to fire you before you even started!" "Oh you found out?" Artemis replied with a similar chuckle, although his was more from nervousness. "Ah well, you knew it had to be done." He paused and a grin fell upon his face. "C'mon, you know you're impressed!" To this, Dumbledore merely smiled and inclined his head slightly, in lieu of a nod, as he straightened back up. He couldn't admit that he'd found it slightly humorous himself, of course, because he was the headmaster at all. Though he had not said so, Artemis felt somewhat at ease, as though without speaking, the old man had told him that he "didn't know" who did it for sure. OOC: uh... i'll end it here? XD; *couldn't think of a better way to end* |

She felt herself blush a bit when Artemis escorted Elise to her seat. She mentally slapped herself for being childish, and stuck her tongue out at Artemis when he called her a 'young lady.' She glared at him a little when he walked away, and then shrugged and turned to the German student.
She had already decided that playing pranks on a Elise was definitely a bad idea. First of all, Elise was bigger, stronger, and not afraid to punch people's lights out. Second, it was quite obvious that she had low self-esteem, and pranks would only hurt her more. Elise needed a friend, and while it seemed that she had found one in Victor, one more couldn't hurt. "Welcome back, Elise," she said cheerfully. "I'm glad you've returned. I heard you went into the Forest!! How was it? Did you get into trouble? Did you get a detention?" She sighed and glanced at Snape, who seemed to be glaring at Artemis. "I already did," she sighed, and shrugged. "Oh well, that's a record." |

She glanced up to him and merely nodded; it was the most she could muster at the moment. The girl felt her heart skip a beat as he smiled, and then walked away. Elise put her hand on her cheek. The HELL is wrong with me...? He's a teacher.. AUGH... While Elise mentally scolded herself, Etta had begun talking to her.
"Ha...? Oh.. yeah, thanks. Thanks for saving the seat, too.." she said, barely audible over the gleeful shouts as every student was sorted. She glanced over to where Artemis sat once more and mentally slapped herself. She had no idea why she was so interested in the teacher; it wasn't as if she'd be seeing him again at some point. Such a thought made her heart flutter slightly. When she finally snapped back to reality and listened to Etta, she laughed slightly. "Really? Well that sucks... I've heard bad things about Snape... Oh well. If I'm on his bad side just by existing then the feeling is mutual." she said, grinning as she jokingly pounded her delicate fist into her hand. "But luckily I didn't get into trouble... A little injured, but nothing Victor didn't cure.. That's right, Victor.." she trailed off, turning around to glance around the Gryffindor table. After a few minutes of searching she saw him, alone, sitting on his bags. Elise felt badly for him; it seemed as if he still felt bad about hurting her. Deciding it was best to leave him alone for now, Elise turned back to Etta and glanced at Dizzy, nodding what would be interpreted as a 'hello'. |

The random shouts of the students didn't bother him at all. His figure was leaned forward, his elbows on his knees and his hands interloped with each other. He kept thinking about Elise.
'I hope she doesn't think I hurt her purposefully in the forest...' 'Does she really think of me as a friend...?' 'Will we ever meet again...?' That last thought rang in his mind, it sat in his head for a long period of time. He remembered when he first saw her, running onto the train, only catching a glimpse of her beauty. Then that's when they met on the train. He caught his first sight of her close-up. He remembered the stammering feeling he felt, as is heart was jumping inside his chest. He wondered if she ever felt the same about him at that moment...? Elf brushed up against Victor's leg, breaking him somewhat away from his thoughts. The cat then jumped onto the suitcases he sat upon and jumped up onto Victor's shoulder. There, it proceeded to sit comfortably on his stern figure, closing it's eyes in delight. Victor remained seated, and silent. Heck, he wasn't even hungry for the feast. All he could think about was Elise. Too bad it was his last year, and even worse that they be in seperate clans. |

Sneaking out under with a lightbending potion was easy. Sneaking back in was hard. He had watched the entire scene unfold, and none of it had been worth it in the long run. Anthony had been able to sneak back in undetected, or so he thought. Dumbledore probably knew, he always did, although Anthony had given him the slip at least once. But even that instance might have been a put on by Dumbledore. Still, he was back in the great hall and had already taken his visible seat without attracting any attention whatsoever, not even from the merry prankster duo at the Ravenclaw table. Everyone was fine and dadny from Anthony's vantage, no injuries, no emotional crisis he could see. So that was an entirely wasted excursion. Pity.
