Additional Nicknames: Shark Killer, the Black Queen Alliance: Pirates Position: Captain of the Eschaton Age: 34, but looks younger Appearance: Jenny has long, blonde hair that she usually keeps in two braids or a ponytail. She has *fairly* good teeth (unusual for pirates), and blue-grey eyes. Her left eye was injured terribly, and is covered by an eyepatch. Her left leg was amputated, so she owns many different prosthetic limbs to stand in place of the missing one. Personality: She has a zen-like calm at most times, even when she should probably be freaking out. Similarly, when she usually shows emotion, it's happiness rather than pain or sadness. She also enjoys pushing people's buttons, perhaps a little too much considering the seriousness of the situations she finds herself in. Clothing: She wears a cornflower-blue bandanna over her hair, and a black leather tri-corner hat over that. She wears a white ruffle-decorated dress shirt, and tan-colored pants tucked into black leather boots. She also wears a necklace made of shark's teeth. History: She grew up in Wales in an upper-class family. She was married to an abusive man at the age of 16. She begged not to be married to him, but her parents made her--he was a rich officer in the Navy, and would bring their family prosperity and honor... yeah, they gave her the whole shpeal. After their marriage, he beat her regularly. One night two years later, he came home in a drunken fury, beating her brutally with a chair leg. He broke her spine at the neck, and hit her left eye over and over again. She escaped and dragged herself to a kind doctor, who healed her. However, the effects of her former-husband's abuse still remained with her--although she was not paralysed, and her body soon recovered, her nerves never did, and she never got the feeling back in anything below her neck. She also lost the sight in her left eye, which had been mashed beyond belief. Because of her terrible appearance (and the fact that she was thought useless because she had no feeling below her neck), she could not find a reputable job. She went to the bar and drank and drank, getting more and more bitter. Jenny came to the conclusion that she wanted revenge on her husband, on all men like him, and on the Navy. So, she joined a pirate ship, getting to use the skills she learned as a child hunting rabbits and other game in the wilderness. She armed herself with pistol and cutlass and became feared, moving up to Second Mate. Then, out of nowhere, a new captain took over the ship. One that hated her. She was marooned in the middle of nowhere with only her pistol- and it with only one shot. She built a great fire every day, and survived by killing the sharks that swarmed in the waters around the island and eating them. One even took her leg, but she would still go out into the water to hunt, as it was the only way to get food--and she was determined to survive. Four months later, she was picked up by another pirate ship, the one she calls home now. She rose in the ranks over the years, eventually becoming the captain. |

The only thing is... when is this server to be set? Is it around the time of, say, Pirates of the Carribean? If I'm not mistaken, it was considered bad luck to have a woman aboard a ship back then. Sailors are very superstitious folk ;) If it's not that time or I'm wrong, then it's totally awesome -- the character is approved. Otherwise, I'm just curious to see how she'd convince the people to let her aboard ^^ |

It'd be the same setting and shat of PotC, but without Jack & Will & peeps. Dan, that may have been true of other ships, but there were many pirate ships led by known women or with known women in the crew. Even some privateer ships were crewed by women! There were many female pirates who were just as tough, feared and respected as men--such as Anne Bonny and Mary Read. Like *most* female pirates, they got on the ships by dressing and acting like men in a convincing manner, and only revealed their true gender to the people they trusted most (MULANNNNN HOMG). Jenny got into her current and former pirate crew by proving her worth and being tough and scary. xD She has never had to pretend to be a man. |
