He turned, facing Kurokaze as he skidded to a halt on the ground. He stood up, his face cold and expressionless. Something about him had changed, however -- his clothing was beginning to regenerate. His main clothes, previously ragged and torn, were now quite back to normal, his cloak was about half-way. The quenching of his thirst for human blood had been enough to re-energize him enough for the regenerative process to continue to the next stage. He raised a clawed hand up to examine it, fanning the long fingers out and back in sequentially. He pauses for a moment, choosing to not answer his opponent's question immediately whilst his cloak returned to its normal length and consitancy.
"Better than you might think, dunpeal," he says visciously. "Better than you might think." |
Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Kurokaze knew he was in trouble. Kenji was now almost at full strength, somehow managing to not catch fire under full daylight. The dunpeal only had a faint idea why he wasn't, but he couldn't be sure.
"You hate me because i'm part human...I can survive in the light, and so can you...I wonder...there must be human in you as well." he said evenly, drawing another knife. OOC:after all that time i didn't post and this is all i come up with. sheesh |

He could sense that his sword was slowly getting ready to reform, but it would take longer without more blood....
"You insult me, half-blood!" He shouted mockingly. "Any taint in my blood is purely concidential. Do not lower me to your level, for I am far above it. Be glad that I have yet to regain my sword, for you would be dead all the faster if I had it with me. |

"I thought so." he said, leveling the blade with his opponent. But I can still outlast him in the sunlight, though i'll have to find shelter soon... he thought. He moved like flowing water, suddenly near Kenji, swinging his sword upward to slice him in half. |

After this, he zoomed forward, his tight fist aiming for his opponent's forhead.
Time was running short.... Though he did have some resistance to the sun, there was a point when even he had to seek shelter, and that time was not far away.... |

This had become a deadly game of chicken...to see who would run from the other in face of sunlight. Who would last longer even after the fight. |

He flexed his free hand, causing it to grow, the nails thickening and lengthening into something more akin to a talon. With this hand he slashed at his foolish opponent's chest. |

Dodging the claws just barely, rips appeared in his shirt and his arm, drawing blood on his upper arm, though not a lot came free. Wrenching his sword from the ancient vampire's grasp, he moved a short distance away from his opponent. But as he did, the sun when higher up in the sky, and he knew it had to end soon. |

He could survive for maybe five minutes before his skin began to burn, he estimated. Ten, if he was lucky. Not wanting to waste any of those precious minutes he leapt forward, throwing one last slash at his unworthy opponent. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Leaping nimbly out of the path of his opponent's claws, Kurokaze knew that neither him nor the ancient vampire could last much longer out here. But he was sure he could out last Kenji. He stood a few meters from his opponent, leveling his sword and waiting for the last move. |
