The Blademaster sighed audibly, his arms crossed iritably. He turned to the man who called himself Cloud and glared at him annoyedly. "We don't have time for this," the tall man said with more than just a hint of chagrin, "just gut the fool and lets get a move on!" Aoshi had developed an enmity towards being in open spaces for extended periods of time throughout his many years, and this wasn't assuaged any by a similar hatred of working with others. |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Kari watched Aoshi as he spoke and turned to the others when he had finished. "Good idea! Let's all go to my home! It's just a short walk away from here in the slums." Kari trotted a few feet away from the group and stopped. She then turned around and waved to the others. "Come on! It's not far!" she shouted, smiling.
The group made its way through the slums, past numerous homeless people and bums. They eventually entered a large, meadow-like area. Yellow flowers dotted the landscape, forming a golden heart in one particular section. To the left of all the flowers was a quaint cottage, probably containing two or three rooms. "This is where Aerith, our mother and I lived. Of course, only mother lives here now. Come on in!" she said, opening the door. Kari walked into the kitchen and glanced about. A large kettle of water was boiling on the stove. She nodded and took said kettle off the burner and pulled out several cups, filling each with steaming water. "Make yourselves at home, all of you. We can talk here." |

He stepped across through the center of the room, getting a good look at the whole house before continuing to the other side. Here he found a wall upon which he leaned casually, not wanting to sit down even to drink the tea. Perhaps this was a notion of politeness, carved deeply into his mind from years of prior training; perhaps, however, it was merely a subtle hint that he did not wish to become "too comfortable" amongst the peoples present.
While he did not voice his thoughts of the warm drink in his hands, he did nod his head in approval when young Kari chanced to look in his direction. The hot liquid slid across his tongue smoothly, and the heat from the earthenware mug warmed his hands in a pleasant way. |

Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | OOC:....colin. how does your char know any of this crap? only the people who had materia stolen from yuffie would know about it, and you weren't there to fight the boss monster thing.
Cloud sipped his tea as he remembered being in this place before. It had been awhile, but he remembered. He had returned Aeris here after saving her from the Turk's assault, and had tried to sneak away so she wouldn't get involved. He sighed. It all seemed so long ago. He turned to Yomi, who finally introduced himself. "I honestly don't know yet," he said to the overly hyperactive weirdo sitting next to him. "But I still have no idea why you know as much about me and some of my friends as you do. Why don't you enlighten me?" |

I recently heard that some of Shin-ra still exists and are tying to reform. I need your help to try and stop them before they do anything like they did the first time. |

"Yeah, I heard that too." he said, closing his eyes. "I haven't heard a lot about the boss, but he seems to know all of them there. Wonder if the Demon dude's involved in that." He took another sip of his tea and shook his head. ~~~~~ Meanwhile, somewhere above the planet... The Demon Krisen hissed in fury. His Mageranter demon had been destroyed. He could conjure some of his demon brethen, but the wall that barred off that dimension was strong still. As long as one of them was alive...Krisen dismissed that particular thought and formulated his plan. Two of the Cetra remained. They had captured one and would probably use her to bait the second, who had just survived do to the Xarian. Krisen spat on the floor in temper. He would deal with them all. He would find something to crush them. They would fear him...fear....that was it! The Demon rose from his chair and snapped his fingers. A flame appeared in the middle of the room, human shaped, about 6 feet tall. It formed into a man wearing a long, dark trenchcoat and all black underneath. "You called?" it asked, flexing it's claw-like fingers. "I have a job for you." Krisen said, smiling. OOC:i'm re designing the original idea for the story, but not much shall change. |

Kari listened to them as she pulled some crackers and cheese out from the pantry. She set them down on the table gently, smiling as she handed a small plate to Aoshi who was not at the table. "Here you are." she said, smiling warmly. She stood beside Aoshi, watching the others talk with grim, serious looks on their faces. "Is this all... my fault?" she said, her voice softening as she gazed down to the floor. "I don't want to be of any trouble to you all.. Please, just go! I don't want you all to get dragged into this!" |

"It will do us no good to attack without a plan." Deciding to remain silent for the moment, leaving his words to sink in and Cloud to take over, Aoshi crossed his arms over his chest, then looked over at the woman at his side, off-handedly.
He had not yet truely looked at her, and until now hardly even heard her voice properly, but he had always noticed something strangely familiar to her. He looked at her distracted eyes, and then something inside of him seemed to twinge. "Akari... ni aru?" Aoshi presently spoke with a strange accent, his words coming out smoothly with hardly a break between them. They flowed from his mouth, sounding as though without a single voiced syllable. The words moved together as droplets of water, forming into one, graceful stream. As he continued speaking, he turned more towards Kari, slowly raising his arm, extending his arm and hand, as though hoping she might take it in hers. "Hoyorou... Akrari ni aru? Oshiyaru! Oyenaa... Aka--" His words suddenly stopped, his eyes seemed to refocus. His whole form froze, as though he was abruptly awoken from a strange dream. His face turned pale, and he quickly stepped back, returning his arm to his side and creating a metallic "chink" as the hilts of his numourous swords rapped upon each other. "Forgive me," he said, his voice once again returning to its flat, unemotional norm. "I..." he once again stopped his speech, though this time it simply trailed off as he turned around and walked towards the door. "I'll be outside, maybe. I may have been here too long; don't be surprised if I'm gone." He moved swiftly towards the door, his coat flowing like water behind him and the swords moving along with it. OOC: if you didnt guess, the italic stuff in quotes is him speaking in his native tongue, Xarian. While I would base it on Chinese, I speak not a word of it, thus it's based more on Japanese. If you can guess what the japanese equivalents of what he's saying are, then.... wow O_o But anyway, the only one who MIGHT understand anything of what he says is Kari, because of some complicated back story that we're working out. In other words, I don't plan on translating it for you, but I could if you asked real nice and I was in a good mood ;) |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Kari felt her cheeks gradually cool down in the minutes that elapsed after Aoshi left the small cottage. For a few moments she debated weather or not to go after the man, and decided to wait for another spell of time before going to his side. She placed the large tea kettle on a coaster in the center of the table before straightening her dress.
"You all help yourselfs to some more tea if you so wish. I'm going to catch Aoshi-sama before he leaves; we need him if we're to get anything accomplished." Kari opened the door quietly and exited the quaint home. The young Cetra looked left and then right where she immediately saw a gradually shrinking figure of a tall man. "<Ah! Please wait, Aoshi-sama!>" she called out as she ran after him. Suddenly she stopped, putting her fingers to her lips, puzzled. "What did I... How..." She stood a few feet behind Aoshi, confused and bewildered as to how she had just spoken a completly foreign language that she knew nothing of. OOC: < dialouge > - because i don't know any Xarian, and i do not want to take liberty and make up some of the language, i just put it in the little arrow thingies XD so the talking in <these> is Xarian. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Appearing a small burst of flame, the demon of fear came to the house of Aeris. He stayed hidden in the bushes, masking his evil intent for the moment, for he knew what one of them was. His mind would be the most difficult to pick, but, to paralyze a Xarian with his greatest fear, a moment of triumph for him! And with him indisposed, the Cetra would be overpowered by his magic....and killed. But he needed to get all of their fears first.
"Time for a little distraction..." he said inaudibly. He reached into his dark coat and pulled out a small vial. He waved his hand over it, and it disappeared in flame. It reappeared right under the moving Xarian's foot, cracking the vial. A little bit of magic given to him by Krisen, the spirit of a evil, though not to powerful demon, would soon awaken. Flames burst from the ground around Aoshi's feet. A pentagram sketched in the dirt. From the figure came a dark presence. Slowly lifting himself from the pit. It was enormous, wreathed in fire and shadows. "Aahhh..." it hissed. "Free at last..." It viewed it's surroundings, noticing the Xarian. "Bug!" it hissed, bringing it's hand down to crush it. |
