| Vern_5 Joined: 31 May 2005 Posts: 212 | Valkier did not look, he did not even care who was knocking at his door. But in a blur of motion, Valkier released Akari, reached into his coat, whipped out his two favorite pistols and fired at the latest idiot to walk in on him. Did he hit his enemy? Perhaps, but he was sure he hit something.
Valkier raised his eyes as he grabbed Akari and put a pistol to her head. It was someone interesting with a great big sword of swirling death. "How immensely stupid of you," Valkier grinned. "Tell me, are you a good shot? Are you confident in your abilities? Because if I were you, I wouldn't be. For one thing, more soldiers were positioned in the connecting halls. They're rushing in as we speak. And I have Akari as my hostage. So what are you going to do? its a lose-lose situation my friend." Valkier smiled behind Akari's hair. | Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Akari struggled to get out of Valkier's grasp. I don't have to worry, he won't shoot me. Not yet, anyway. Not if he wants an heir, or expects one. the Queen thought to herself. She turned to look at Valkier and smiled alluringly. "You do realize what will happen if you kill me, do you not, love?" Akari cringed at the last word. She couldn't handle being this close to Valkier, the one who had, single-handedly, destroyed everything she held dear, save Falcone, of course.
She turned to the rebels approaching the room. I hope you guys know what you're doing... |

"How stupid do you think I am?" he said, grinning slightly. "We traveled pretty much all of those pathways. No soliders. Anywhere. And if there were, they'd be dead, anyway. There's a whole legion of my soldiers out there right now to keep any reinforcements at bay. Now, why don't you be a smart boy and let her go, and we can fight another day, you moron?" |

"Okay, so things aren't balanced in my favor," Valkier admitted. "However, I have no qualms about killing this one" he shook Akari somewhat. "So don't try and scare me. I could shoot you both right now if I wanted. But I'm not, you know why? Because I'm thinking you know better, now go home, away from this war, you don't belong" |

If you don't do what I'm asking you to, you are going to DIE. There is no escape from this room for you; we are a legion, you are one. You have no heir, we could steal your throne when you die, which, if you don't return Akari to us, is going to be VERY soon. So, lets try thinking with our brain instead of our balls here, and end this stupidity now."

| Vern_5 Joined: 31 May 2005 Posts: 212 | Valkier frowned ever so slightly. This was getting tedious. Valkier hated tedious.
"Okay, fine, you win," Valkier admitted. he released Akari. "Maybe I'm just out of luck today. Things are just getting horribly awry. I mean, you have no idea how it is, running this galaxy. I'm one man, and when the stress, the madness, gets to you, you can't help but be a little strongarm. But you don't know what it's like. You can't possibly understand." Valkier, while he was buying time, swiftly drew out what he was looking for... "The thing about being Emperor is that you're always alone," he said. "And right now, I will keep it that way!" Plucking a small grenade from his belt, he armed the little pod and tossed it over his adversary, where it exploded in a cloud of bone-cleaving shards and fumes. While everyone was panicking, Valkier made his escape by bounding over heads and shooting anything that got in his way. within a few moment, he was well on his way to the bridge. |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | The smoke eventually cleared, and Akari opened her eyes. As she had suspected, Valkier had run off. But without her? She was his ticket, his trump card. The Queen shook it from her mind and shrugged. She grinned, looking at the group of rebels. "Well... that was easy enough." she said, light-hearted. Akari ran over to Hawkes and hugged him, giggling lightly. "Thanks, you guys. I appreciate your help." She ripped off part of her already beaten and tattered dress, using the piece of cloth to tie back her long, ebony hair. "Ok, let's get out of this hunk-a junk!" |
| Vern_5 Joined: 31 May 2005 Posts: 212 | Back on the bridge, and extremely fatigued, Valkier was once again at the helm. This time, nothing would get off the ship alive.
"All hands evacuate the prison deck. Command, seal off the deck and get the repair drones to patch any and all holes in the hull. All guns, prepare to destroy anything that leaves this ship!" Valkier shouted across the bridge. Watching a 3-D schematic of the ship, he saw the staggerd gates of the deck sealing itself in. Every six feet of the hallway would close in a gate. And, just like the rest of the ship, nothing got through. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Hawkes heard the distant slamming of metal doors. He looked, and saw that they were closing about six feet apart.
"Come on, let's go!" he said, motioning for Akari to come along. A few feet away was the entry hole, and every crew member, or at least those that weren't dead, made it back through. Sealing the hull of his own ship just in time, for he heard the sound of droids, and a loud clang. It sounded like they were sealing off the hole. Hawkes grinned. Valkier was not using his brain today. Reactivating the cloaking device, they shot toward the moon at a high rate of speed. OOC:sorry bout the shot, dude |

"We have no way of telling, sir," an officer shouted back. "we could always..." "Hmm...excellent idea officer, I'll take it into account. Now, on to business," Valkier strode across his dais on the bridge. "Send a detach team down there, unlock the deck and get ready to recapture Akari, seal all sections holding enemy soldiers especially the ugly one. But on the off chance that they escaped, where would they go..?" Valkier thought to himself. "Wait, I know exactly where." Valkier walked over to the nearest guidance console, shoved the officer out of the way and plotted a new course: a way to the moon. |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Akari smiled, walking over to Hawkes once they were on the ship and on their way to the moon where Falcone was held captive. "Thanks, Hawkes. That actually went pretty smoothly. I guess judging by the way he reacted, he's just a huge coward! I mean, really, running away like that? Please!" She chuckled, stepping over to the bridge to thank the others for their help.
It wasn't more than a half an hour before they finally began to reach the small moon. "Ok, get ready for landing, everyone. I know Falcone is here, I can just feel it." she said, looking out to the numerous crew members. "Let's go. Failure is not an option." |

"Ma'am, tain't in us to fail." he said, grinning. "You never had to worry there." Up in the cockpit, Hawkes couldn't help but grin as well. He touched down, but he left the cloak on, seeing as he didn't want Valkier to see the ship. "Alright, men." He spoke, acting professionally. "This is the last one, I swear...now, lets get Falcone outta here!" A loud cheer went up at these words. |

They knocked out any guards (which were very few) and entered the castle. The Xarian queen closed her eyes and opened her mind. If it were truely Falcone, he was deep in the bowels of the prison, far lower from where they stood. "He's below us, you guys. Follow me!" she said, turning. As she turned, she saw an odd, red colored light. Her eyes widened; a head sensor. "Oh... shit..." she whispered. |
| Vern_5 Joined: 31 May 2005 Posts: 212 | "Get the Naga on that rock!" Valkier growled. "I can't believe they escaped. I can't believe we can't find them. Oh well." Valkier slumped back onto his throne. "Just get me to the Lunar Palace and get that pool ready, I need a good swim"
Suddenly, a red noise wracked the bridge. It was the alarm system but it sounded distant somehow. "Now what!?" Valkier scowled. "Emperor, the Lunar base's defense system has just gone off! Someone is trying to infiltrate the prison block!" an officer shouted. "Well, well, look who's a step ahead for once," Valkier grinned. "INcrease speed, I don't care if we crash nose-first, GET ME ON THAT BASE!" |

"Ah, shit..." he said, punching it with his fist and breaking it. "Everyone, move fast! Hurry!" And with that, they began to run down the flights of stairs. Level after level they passed, when finally... "A highest security cell?" he asked, looking to Akari to see if Falcone was in this cell. |
