Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Attached to the bottom of Valkier's ship, Hawkes watched carefully as the ship turned away from the moon. At the right time, he'd detonate the miniature EMP, blast a small hole in the whole of Valkier's ship, which he was almost certain lead into Akari's "cell," get her out and head for the moon to get Falcone. The only issue was timing...He sat back in his chair and waited. |
| Vern_5 Joined: 31 May 2005 Posts: 212 | Valkier was back on his throne, peacefully gazing at his planet onscreen. What could he do now? No, that was not the right question. What were his enemies doing? Well, Akari was in his custody. Valkier slowly pondered: where was that ragtag crew of hers?
"General Glaive!" Valkier shouted. "Take a detachment of the armada. Find Akari's greater allies. Not the soldiers, mind you, but those in command. And double the patrol on the moon, something is amiss, its not like those rebels to give up like this" |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | It was time. Hawkes slammed a button on the control panel and the E.M.P was launched. At that same time, all power on Valkiers ship went out. A small explosion signaled Hawkes that it was time to go. He grabbed his gun and ran to the ladder. When they came through, they found themselves in a hallway, filled with empty prison cells.

"What just happened?" Valkier shouted across the deck. "Oh no" he groaned. He knew what was happening. He should have seen it sooner. A rescue was here. "Soldiers to the fancy brig," Valkier shouted over the intercom. "Weapons set to kill. If you see something that does not belong: Shoot It!" |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Hawkes gathered his small patrol and led them down the corridor. Nothing had entered their path yet, but they weren't sure it it was the right way. An inspiration came to Hawkes. Throwing out his right hand, an electric field of lightning seemed to appear, and from it, a small, golden eagle statue flew forth. It clearly wasn't a statue though, because it was flying around.
"Find her!" he said to it. The eagle seemed to understand and flew swiftly down the corridor, with Hawkes and crew in hot pursuit. |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | A long, dark corridor. That's all Akari could see. The corridor belonged to the Naga, the ship she was currently imprisoned on. She saw a group of men running down the hall with a small eagle ahead of them. She shouted: "Hawkes?!" The man stopped. He didn't seem to see her, but he seemed to have heard her words. She heard the men talk amongst themselves, saying 'I think it's that way,' or 'She's this way!'. Akari stepped closer to them "No! You're going the wrong way! I'm all the way at the opposite end of this hallway!" she shouted, pleading that her words got through. Hawkes seemed bewildered. Before Akari could speak again, she was suddenly shaken awake. |

"Quick, to the opposite end!" he said, and he began to sprint. The eagle still flew with them, and Hawkes finally made it too the door. He waited for his crew to catch up and prepared to kick the door down. OOC:i dont' know who woke u up... |

Finally, Akari the captive opened her eyes only to glare into his own. However, her expression immediatly changed when she saw the legion of soldiers behind him. "Now, when we find Akari's right hand man, (he'll be coming here so sit tight) remember this:" Valkier called back to his troops. "He's mine" Nothing gets away from the Emperor. His all seeing eye is wisdom. HIs hand is power. His mind is unfathomable. That zealous prayer was sung by those who worshipped his image. For the most part, they were right about him. He saw all, knew all, and took care of all that he saw. And, waiting in Akari's room, if he was there, he would not live to see his Emperor. |

When she looked away from his face and saw the group of rebels, she shouted "NO! YOU FOOLS! You'll be killed!" She struggled to get out of Valkier's grip, but it was futile. |

This was an old tactic of Valkier's. Raids, countless raids gone awry always came to an end this way. If anyone stepped inside, they would be ridled with bolts. And anyone who got past the soldiers would have to deal with him, the best shot in the galaxy. |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Akari's eyes widened as she turned to look at Valkier, gripping his arms. "NO! Don't kill them, please! I'll do anything, just don't kill them!" she pleaded. Akari's eyes were filled with fright and worry; she had wished they hadn't come after her, not now. She had told Hawkes to lay low and come back soon, but not immediately after her surrender. Tears built up, welling beneath her soft jade eyes. "Please..." She begged. Please, oh MIGHTY emperor, give into my sweet face, you twit. Let them go. she thought to herself.
OOC: I know you wouldn't god mod Jeremy, but make sure your post isn't effected by Akari's thinking, because you don't know what she's thinking :O |
| Vern_5 Joined: 31 May 2005 Posts: 212 | "Hey, you made your deal, remember. I set down the conditions of your surrender: to no longer take up arms against me," Valkier scowled. "Your allies broke the deal. And when you break a deal with the emperor, you usually don't get to do so twice"
Valkier holstered his two pistols; they would not do him any good. Instead, he unslung his prized rifle from under his coat and braced it against his shoulder. One shot was all he needed to take care of this problem. It did not matter, how much Akari begged, this was a nuisance. Nuisance's did not belong on the Naga. |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Akari gritted her teeth as Valkier stood up and pulled out his rifle. How the hell did he fit that in there!? she asked herself. Well, it doesn't matter... I've got to do something or risk being able to save Falcone!. The Xarian Queen lept off of the bed and jumped in front of the Emperor. Using the sweetest, most beautiful face she could force herself to conjure, Akari wrapped her arms around Valkier's waist. Her nostrils were on fire with the scent of his disgusting cologne, yet she bared it for now.
"Why should we waste our time killing them?" she asked, smirking. "We can save that for later. I think there are better things that you could be doing, my Lord.." Just try and go after them you imbecile. I won't let you kill them. |
| Vern_5 Joined: 31 May 2005 Posts: 212 | Feeling a sudden pressure around his waist, Valkier braced himself for the worst. Then he realized the nature of Akari's words. Oh she was sly; Valkier liked that in a woman. For one thing, a sly woman usually means a mental challenge and Valkier was a master of mental challenges. This one for instance. He had taken his share of bribes over the course of his life and knew which ones to take. This one seemed safe enough...at least that was he wanted Akari to think.
"You know what's best, Akari," Valkier smiled. "Perhaps you're right. He's on the Naga, and he wont be leaving anyway" Slowly but surely, Valkier hid his rifle within the folds of his coat and made sure her hands stayed on his waist instead of in his coat pockets. THen, he took a soft hand and passed it through her hair with all the faked affection he could muster. "Soldiers, disperse. Leave the room and capture the intruders," Valkier commanded. "Now, back to my Queen..." |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Hawkes slammed his foot into the door, spinning his now formed blade in a perfect circle, deflecting the shots that the goons were firing.
"Now!" he yelled, and at his command, laser fire came in from behind him, and almost all of Valkiers guard fell instantly. The one remaining dropped his gun and held his hands up. That left only Valkier... "Hiya, scumbag!" he said cheerfully. The entire time, he still hadn't stopped spinning his sword. "We'll be leaving now. Know that even if you kill me, you will be shot down before you can blink by the best o' the best here behind me. Oh, we'll be taking the Queen with us, if you please." He didn't take his eyes off of Valkier as he continued. "You okay, Milady?" |
