"Crisis averted?" Moira said, raising an eyebrow. She looked over when Helen screamed. "What fresh hell is this," she yelled over the wind rushing about in the cabin. |

Those darn heights!! She's scared stiff... well, actually she's limper than a rag doll 'cause she fainted... XD Poor Helen.
Helen: Why am I such a scaredy cat? I'm already weaker than everybody. Except maybe Riley because he's a n00b. Me:... D'you just say n00b? Helen: ya rly. Me: Ahhh!!! TT___TT |

The whirling winds within the plane wasn't affecting him, Moira, or Kyphus, but he did forget that humans can be fragile. With all that has happened within the past and now, Helen was lucky she didn't become insane yet.
Standing to his feet, the vampire held Helen around her mid-back with one arm, then with the other he gave a wave of his hand. With this 'gesture', the hatch closed shut tightly. The gusts finally came to a stop, and all was calm. Turning about slowly, Odakira set Helen down in one of the chairs of the aisle. Jo-jo was half tempted to jump in her lap, but that would have been uncomfortable. Obviously seeing this, Odakira opened a small storage shelf above Helen, grabbed a pillow and placed it in her lap. Then reaching over, he pulled the armrest up so that Jo-jo would have plenty of room to at least lay his two front paws and head on the pillow (which he did as soon as he could). With nothing much more to do, Odakira turned and faced the worn Kyphus, "You're not as young as you were, are you?" Odakira remarked as he made his way to the cockpit, passing by the heap of metal and flesh, "I remember more of a fight coming out of you during our small bout'." Peeping his head into the cockpit of the jet, Odakira looked at the two not so happy pilots. "No worries," he said, "The trouble is over with, and you may now continue your course to Vienna." Turning around once more, he announced to Moira and Kyphus as he walked passed them to the cargo room, "Rest up. Who knows what awaits in Vienna. You two are going to be the only ones, for by the time we arrive, it will be daytime." Then in a flash, the vampire vanished, only to reappear within his closed coffin. Almost as if the coffin was encanted to put those within to sleep, Odakira fell into slumber in a matter of seconds. Awaiting his reawakening. |

"But as for a soul, I think I might pass. Those tend to be non-refundable and non-returnable." He paused, listening to the rest of what Shadows had to say.
"Of course I wanted to crash it, and I'm sure you'd be lying if you said you didn't as well! But still, I would've at least waited until they'd given me the medal. And for the last time, I don't have any addiction. I could stop any time! And if you pull that 'you're in denial' and 'admitting that you have a problem is the first step towards recovery' crap again, I swear I'll jam my boot down your throat! Only this time, I'll take my foot out first so it won't be quite so easy for you to get it back out and break my leg!" OOC: moving right along... ^^; |

""I guess that means I won't be pulling bone shards from the roof of my mouth again?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Perhaps you'd like a piece of shin jabbing painfully close to your windpipe!" OOC:wow, blank out for teh mind |

Riley: *holds out cross* "I SHALL VANQUISH YOU EVIL FORCES OF EVIL!!!!" Vampire: "Grrrr." Riley: "Meep!" *hides behind cross* Uh... ^^; Riley crouched behind the door to what appeared to be a very large study. There was another door leading out of it on the other side; this was precisely why he'd chosen this room. The last thing he wanted was for this to turn into a simple game of hide-and-seek, because she knew this place much better than he did. He'd tried the old fox-and-hound trick, going a considerable distance beyond the door to the room, doubling back over his steps, and taking a leap into the room. With luck-- though it didn't seem to be on his side today-- she might be confused enough to buy him some time. |

Amara stared at a spot on the ground and looked around the hallway. His scent had simply disappeaed. She bit her lip and shook her head, making her black ears flop a little. "He ist human," she murmured. "Human don't vanish in thin air." Her eyes narrowed. "Unlesst they haf help..." She checked her watch, there was still a few hours before noon. She walked around in a circle and sat on the ground to think. She looked around again, and doubled back. As she followed his scent again, her eyes widened in surprise.
"Clever boy," she purred, and smiled wickedly. "This ist fun..." She stood up and went back down the hall. Then one by one she kicked the doors open on either side of the hall, and inspected the rooms quickly before moving on to the next door.[/color:b40a912597] |

Moira asked Kyphus. "Maybe eat some wienerschnitzel..." She smiled and shrugged. "Or we could ask around for clues at the local vampire/werewolf hangout, the abandoned salt mine. Either way."
OOC:Whee mines~ slides o' rock!! :D |

As a group they had made short, if desperate, work of that drone; Kyphus had once fought one by himself. They didn't have many surprises in them, but they were calculating foes and apparently loaded with devious surprises.
At least everything was back to normal now, if normal was what to call it. "I don't know what to expect in Vienna," Kyphus admitted as crouched into a stable seat like a wounded hound. "Ghouls, most likely. Maybe that knock-off had something to do with it" Kyphus focused on Moira. He was never any good at delivering good news, being a doctor and all. So, he smiled and said, "Food sounds good, though. We'll have time to rest when we get back on the ground" But what would be there to welcome them? |

No sense staying here, he thought, and stood up. If she even fell for the Disappearing-Riley trick, it wouldn't hold her for long.
He was off again, running down a long, dimly lit hallway. It was lined with doors on either side. He glanced behind him, saw that nobody was coming, and opened the first door. He stepped into the room, ran around a bit, and stepped out again. He stepped forward and did the same to the next room, and the next, wondering vaguely how many guest bedrooms there were in this house. The more the better. Anyway, the catgirl would have to check them all thoroughly-- for all she knew, he might be in any one of them. He did his "disappearing" trick again, hoping that it would at least make her believe-- if only for a few minutes-- that he was, in fact, in one of those rooms. Then he ran off down another hallway and looked for yet another place to hide. |

She leapt out of it and followed his scent down the dim hall. His scent led him to one room and another and another. Each room she inspected, she found it was empty.
All he's doing is delaying the end of the game, she thought. The catgirl was patient and took her time looking. He was only toy, a plaything, and when she got bored, she could eat him. Who said you shouldn't play with your food?she grinned and lost his scent for a moment until she doubled back to find it. When she heard his footsteps get louder, she knew she was gaining. Amara slowed to a walk. "Come out, come out," the catgirl called out in a sing-song voice. She didn't want the gme to end just yet. "Vherever you are."[/color:60c58ec511] |

He didn't want her to hear him, though it was probably a little late for that.
He had no idea how long he had left. Noon could be hours away, or minutes-- he didn't know what time he'd woken up, there were no windows to tell him whether it was night or day, and he wasn't wearing his watch. I'd feel a lot better if I knew all the rules to the game, he thought resentfully. As it was, he had no way of knowing whether noon had already come and gone. He turned several corners, winding his way through rooms and corridors. He doubled back several times, and he was pretty sure he crossed over places he'd already been, but that didn't worry him too much. All it could do was throw her off a little, and it wasn't like he was trying to find a way out of here anyway. There were probably guards around a mansion of this size and grandeur, and they were sure to be well-trained. They might even be vampires. Yeah, bad idea. Riley stopped, breathing heavily-- he hadn't realized how fast he'd been running. His adrenaline was flowing freely now... once you got over the fact that the girl was trying to kill you, he thought, this wasn't so bad. He grinned in spite of himself and continued down the hallway, taking a torch from one of the sconces on the wall as he went. She'd notice, sure, but he needed some way to light his path in this dark, dank corridor-- so different from the grand halls he'd seen earlier. |

She would have to wrap this up soon. Pity, for she was having quite a bit of fun winding through the halls and retracing her steps. She did a double take and grinned maliciously. The catgirl had almost passed by a scone missing a torch. She looked down the dark hall and rubed her gloved hands together.
So, he finally found the Labyrinth, she thought. She crept in after him and melted into the shadows and silently stalked the priest despite her heavy combat boots. Her eyes glowed hungrily as she came up behind him and she licked her lips and chuckled. Amara pounced on the Priest. "You lose," she sneered.[/color:cd747630f5] |

And you all thought she was a kind, sweet, innocent little angel. ;) Riley sensed it before she even pounced. He didn't have the super-vamire senses that she appeared to posess, and he couldn't tell precisely what was going to happen. But he had his instinct, and it told him that he was not alone in this dark, cold tunnel. Nobody'd ever find me, he realized suddenly. Helen would return home, just as promised, and she would never find out where he'd gone. He would never get to hear the ending to the story. Oh, there was his ending, of course. He would be eaten by a vampire catgirl in the deep labrynths beneath a creepy, probably-haunted mansion. His church would find a new priest, probably another of those old, smelly, withered men with a brittle, wheezy voice. Riley would never get to fight. This, more than anything, made him angry. He had finally found something that he could fight, and now he would meet his end in this dark, damp tunnel. It was ridiculous. With a growl of rage, Riley lurched backwards in an attempt to dislodge the girl from his back. She probably had claws, he knew, but he was by this point certain that he was going to die anyway. And I'll be damned if I'll go out without a fight. |
