There was Al, the bartender-- he was a jolly lad, when he was drunk. Next to Al stood some waitress he didn't know. As for patrons, there appeared to be none, except...
"Helen!" Riley approached the table where the young woman sat, a smile on his face despite the lateness of the hour. Normally he would have been less than enthusiastic about meeting someone at this time of night (No, he thought, with a glance at his watch, better make that morning), but he was more than happy to see Helen. She was a bright woman, always interesting to talk to. He'd met her several weeks ago for something concerning her theology class at the local university. "It's good to see you again." He sat down at the table and was about to ask her what this was all about when he noticed the mark on the side of her face. It had the purplish-yellow color of a bruise just beginning to heal; she'd probably gotten it several hours ago, though he didn't know enough about that kind of thing to be sure. "Perhaps I shouldn't ask," he said slowly, "but what on earth happened to you?" |

Helen blinked and then smiled and placed her hand gently over her cheek. "Oh this, well... you probably won't believe me when a tell you this but, I was slapped by a Nazi." She laughed. "It actually has a bit to do with this story i was taling about on the phone. You see a few nights ago- well, let's order something to drink first, I have a very interesting tale to tell you, Riley. Interesting and long." She waved to the waitress who yawned and shuffled over to the table. "Could I have some hot chocolate please?"
"Do you want anything in that, Miss?" asked the lady scribbling it down.[/color:a973b5f037] "Yes, actually," Helen smiled. "A few marshmallows would be delightful, thank you." "Are you sure that's all you want in it?" the waitress asked raising an eyebrow. "Agnes, leave the girl alone," Al said lazily. "She's Mormon, so just give her the bloody marshmallows." Agnes sighed and rolled her eyes and muttered how she always got the crazy ones.[/color:a973b5f037] "Thanks, Al," Helen said with a wave. "And what are you going to have, sir," Agnes asked Riley.[/color:a973b5f037] |

Agnes grinned, obviously satisfied. "All right, then. Comin' right up." Once she'd left, Riley turned back to his friend. "Now, Helen," he said, lowering his voice slightly, "what's all this about being slapped by a Nazi?" It was obvious-- he didn't believe her. It wasn't that he thought Helen would lie to him; he was simply sure that there was some element of the story that was missing. The pieces would fall together and make perfect sense, he was sure, as soon as she told the rest of this long, interesting story. "You've certainly got my attention, if that's all you were going for. I'm listening." |

"I'm glad I got your attention, but I really did get slapped by a genuine Nazi and he was- I'm getting ahead of myself. Sorry."
Agnes set the hot chocolate down on the table before them and left again after Helen thanked her. "You see Riley," Helen said watching her marshmallows slowly shrink. "A funny thing happened a few nights ago when I was walking my dog, except, it really isn't amusing at all." She sighed, took a sip of her hot chocolate and set it down so she could stare at it once more. In a soft, steady voice she told him about her first encounter with the ghouls chasing her and the vampire in the alley, and how she was hunted through the streets of London. She told him about how she was saved by the unlikeliest of angels, and how she found herself in a vampire slayer's head quarters only to be kidnapped by a couple of undead Nazi's. She described her duel with the Erika and what happened in the cemetery the next night. She told him about how she found her flat in ruins and her neighbors dead. Then she told him about the night after that when she discovered how a vampire had been serving as her protector her whole life without her knowledge, how her classroom was attacked by ghouls and vampires, and how she killed the Nazi responsible for the bruise when he invaded the organization. She didn't use the names of anyone, or did she mention the name Hellsing. "Now, I'm going to Vienna to see who is behind all this madness." She sipped her hot chocolate and looked up at him with weary eyes. "And that's all I have for now," Helen said rubbing her eyes with one hand. "Do you think you can make it a good book? It still needs an ending, but I think it would sell." |

Taking a step into the lead-filled room, an uncountable amount of weaponry was set in his sights.
"Hmm, Helen only has that zatoichi..." Odakira thought to himself; his golden eyes wandering the room in hopes to find a suitable firearm. "She's going to need something that has range." Taking a step deeper into one of the gun-lined aisles, he was able to spot the perfect weapon for Helen. Odakira turned to glanced down at a red velvet tabletop with two small Baretta pistols. In his mind though, the event of Wolfgang's death played repeatedly. She has good aim with a small firearm, so these would suit her well. The pistols had a long cartridge protruding from the bottom of the grip. An ammo clip capable of holding 18 rounds each. And of course, loaded with the recommend vampire-killer ammunition. Alongside the table and weaponry laid loaded clips for the guns. Odakira grabbed the sash at his side and opened it, then proceeded to place four clips into it, as well as putting the two pistols in it. Closing his eyes, he put his mind to finding Helen's presence. It wasn't nice to find that she was outside the Hellsing grounds when she is Talona's target. "Damn..." Odakira muttered to himself, and with a bright flash he vanished from the weapon room, only to reappear outside the Manor's gates. Running at full sprint, it wasn't long that he found himself outside the pub that Helen was at. Being across the street, he ducked into the shadows between two buildings as he spotted the human. She was conversing with another man. A priest by the looks of it. Helen seemed happy near him, and not too worried. "Pff... Humans. So careless about what might come to get them. She is definitely wreckless about her well-being..." Odakira thought to himself, like a worried father. "And that man better watch himself..." |

I don't mean to be picky... really, but Helen does not use a zatoichi, she uses a rapier. There is a bit of a difference in style and orgin:

Sorry for the interruption. I just likeposting pictures of pretty swords. ;P |

She watched Helen leave, wondering what she was up to. She would follow her in a few minutes; no sense travelling alone if you didn't have to. But, she had some things to do first.
Moira left the group, and went back to her kitchens. "I think this break's gonna be longer than expected." "Asshat! Why do you get a vacation?" One of the line chefs yelled. "Because I'm an on-call assassin, fuckface. It's not a vacation in the least." She shook her head, smiling. "Well anyways, see you all in a while." She turned and left quickly, avoiding a painfully long goodbye. She loved her chefs- they had become like family, albeit a dysfuntional one- and leaving them was hard for her. Moira retraced Odakira's trail to the armory, where she retrieved her specially-balanced pair of chef's knives. They were tied up in black velvet along with her scimitar in its scabbard. She grabbed the bundle, and also took a couple of firearms from the armory: a pair of Px4 Beretta hand pistols with their ammo. She gathered it all in her arms, and carried it to her room. She put it in a bag, along with some extra clothes. Moira shed her white diswasher's coat and dress, putting on black leather pants and a yellow tanktop. She put her black leather coat on over that. She changed her shoes, putting on her black waterproof motorcycle boots and adjusting the straps. Moira got her motorcycle gloves, sunscreen (SPF 70 for the sun-fearing), Ray-Ban and her helmet from her bureau, and put it in her bag as well--which by this point, was getting pretty full. Moira picked up the bag from the ground, grabbed a pair of dust-covered keys from her nightstand, and left her room. She went outside Hellsing, to a garage near the kitchens. The door swung open with a press of a button on her key fob, and she was in the garage. Moira whipped off her Road King's cover, and loaded its hard saddlebags with her gear. She put on her helmet with the visor up, strapped on her gloves, and started the ignition. It turned over slowly, not having been used in a while. The throaty roar made Moira smile, as it always did, and so she revved it a few times for fun before knocking the kickstand away. After she put the kickstand up, and balanced the bike, she accelerated out of the garage, which closed behind her. The gate opened before she got there, and she went out into the town. She weaved around through the streets until she sensed Helen and Odakira. She parked in front of the bar, turning off the ignition, pocketing her keys and putting her kickstand down. "She's here to see a friend, apparently," Moira said to Odakira as she took off her helmet. "But why are you here?" She shook out her hair, and got off her bike. OOC:Moira's bike be a 2000 Harley Road King... awesome bike, it's what my dad has :D Lol, in real life, no women ride these because they're like 800lbs, but Moira has superdhampirstrength and so.

But if I wanted to be a little more procise about it, I'd have to call it a shikomizue. Nonetheless, Helen DOES have a rapier, but since it's concealed and made to look like an umbrella, it would be considered of zatoichi-style. :P Sorry if there was any confusion about my post. :(
So far so good. The man with Helen wasn't making any moves that he would regret. Odakira remained still in the shadows, but his attention was broke by the sound of a motorcycle and the sense of an incoming halfling. His eyes remained on the two inside the pub, as he knew it was Moira who was approaching. Odakira gave a nod of his head to Moira's statement then looked over to her to answer her question. "Well, if you were the human target of a vampire and ghoul infested cult, wouldn't you want some help?" He slyly cracked a smirk, the looked back at the man near Helen, then whispered, "I'm that help she's going to need, as well as you." A vehicle then passed by, throwing some light into the direction of Odakira and Moira, only to turn them into shadows again in the night. Then Odakira's voice broke the darkness, "Nice bike." |

"Thanks," Moira said, nodding in Odakira's direction. "Yes, we need to protect her from the Cult. For now, she's safe, though--I don't sense any bad intentions coming from him. Even if he did attack her, he's only human." She placed her helmet on her motorcycle's seat, going over to Odakira without a sound. "So, Vienna... We hopping the Channel by the Tunnel or are we gonna get a plane?" OOC:either way, she's totally gonna find a way to get her bike over there... she wants to ride it that badly XD |

Helen frowned slightly, and nudged the chocolate lab pup in the stomach to get him to hush.
That's wierd he doesn't act like this unless... Her face grew slightly grimmer and she looked out the window and started to reach for her umbrella. Then a passing car shined a light that revealed two figures in the alley for an instant before turning them into mere shadows again. The professor relaxed, smiled slightly and shook her head as she took another sip of hot chocolate. They worry too much. OOC:Ok, thanks for clearing it up. |

Christopher brought the car to a halt just near the pub, probably the only place he could park, actually. At least he could properly track Moira and his old friend, Odakira, with it. Also, one of the upsides of looking human was that Christopher could drive a car without leading an auto disaster in his wake. Christopher shoved his car door open and stepped out to re-engage the two 'watchers'. Chris was sure that Helen could look after herself, but then, what are friends for if not to lurk in the shadows and protectively monitor your every move? "Odakira!" Christopher called as he approached, the sound of his cane clicking against the asphalt. "You never said hello. Now, what the hell is going on. All this talk of Vienna and evil and then the lot of you speeding off without me has me wondering- " Chris paused to glance into the pub. "- wondering why you're still spying on Helen. She seems to be having a good time without us" [quote:7ee91f9776]Thanks for the passing car, Mo  [/quote:7ee91f9776] |

Helen glanced outside at the car. It appeared that yet another person had joined the party. "Oh, for the love of all that's bloody holy," she muttered, slapping the table with the palm of her hand. "This is getting ridiculous..." she stood up and walked over to the door, opened it and leaned against the door frame, shaking her head as she stared directly into the dark ally. "You're not fooling anyone, and even if you were, people do tend to get suspicious of weirdos who gather in dark alleys at night," Helen called out into the night. "You might as well come inside out of the cold." Then she closed the door and walked back to sit across from Riley. She ignored the weird looks from Agnes and Al as she took another finished the last of her hot chocolate. "Y' sure y' only put marshmallows in her drink? asked Al softly.[/color:931097187d] "May I have a refill please?" Helen asked holding out her cup. Agnes took it from her and filled out her order. |

"Jesus H. Christ," Moira said, sighing. "I give up. Assume what you want to, Helen." She got her helmet off her bike, and followed Helen into the bar, sitting down next to her. "I was acually tailing Odakira, sorry for lurking and crap." She put her helmet in the seat next to her, and took off her gloves and put them there as well. She unzipped her jacket, as it was a little restrictive. Al came over to Moira and said, "What would you like, miss?"[/color:f8214451cf] "Mulled wine, please."
