[quote:808d365ab1]I'm sure I already described it before, but someone, apparently, did not catch the memo. CHristopher's new form is created by thousands of layered platelets evenly distributed over the whole of his body, not projected. These platelets exhibit texture, pigment, warmth, and basically mimics skin. So the whole pounding my shoulder like an anvil wouldn't work; the plates would absorb the blow. Besides, Kyphus doesn't reverberate so readily. Just making sure you know this for past and future posts[/quote:808d365ab1]

"WELL," said Moira, clearing her throat. "Shouldn't we get to the library instead of standing here blowing hot air?"
She was beginning to get annoyed at her easily-sidetracked companions. She tapped her foot in boredom.

OOC:Hmm... reread pg. 36-37. There was no memo... Buuut, quick explanation:
*Moira bumps into Chris' leg--not Kyphus'. The illusion is not broken until after contact, when the soup fries Kyphus' illusion mechanism. Then, Moira sees the real Chris- Kyphus- for a split second before the thinger fixes itself.*

Soo, going by this, and what Jeremy said, I would have to say Shadows did not make a clang noise when he tapped Kyphus' shoulder, unless he disrupted his cloaking mechanism somehow first.

OK so, can we move on now?????? D:

OOC:Let's just say this happens while Erika and Moira were talking, plus ignoring all the OOC posts made.

It was quite aggravating, what went from being a 'field trip' to the library now became a local chat lounge. There was a far more important matter at hand and the only ones who could stop it are just now introducing themselves, as well as gossiping about foods. Ridiculous. Odakira shook his head as he could just feel the tension of a forecoming evil approaching and he could just imagine what menace it could be to the unaware talkers. Heaving a sigh, he brought the responsibilty to go figure out this cult by himself. With this in mind, and a small step into a wall, the white vampire had vanished from the crowd.

With another step, Odakira now found himself in the library once more, and with one thing in mind: Talona. Closing his golden optics, he allowed his mind's eye to open: concentrating upon the many books within the library. 'Looking' through every page of every book for any chapters, topics, words, or sentences that could give a scrap of information about this cult. His results weren't so good... Two books.

His mind's eye now closed, Odakira walked over to his findings and took them. Turning and finding himself a comfortable place to sit, he set the books upon a table's surface while peering the other open. After situating himself, he glanced up to find a Crimson Clad man staring at him; sitting with one of his boots propped up against the table's edge and staring at Odakira with eyes that matched his apparel.

Odakira then opened his mouth and spoke, "You'r--" Only to be cut off...

"Alucard, the one and only..." He said abruptly; rich and vibrant in his tone. "And you're Odakira, the chosen White Raven to represent the ancient Teutonic Order. Personally, I find it quite humoring that such a clan would choose a vampire to play such an important role to their community, when their enemy is of vampires too. Reminds me of... Well, me." With this being said, Alucard simply interlocked his gloved fingers and placed his hands upon his lap; his smile confirming that he was quite mad, but his eyes could show many a year's worth of intelligence and honesty within his dark mind.[/color:711c1a3d45]

"So, I take it you read up already on what we're facing?" Odakira then inquired, closing the book before him.

Alucard gave a small nod and began almost what seemed to be a lecture, "Before I do explain, you need some learning, punk." He then leaned forward slightly and continued, "You've been tailed for quite a long time by this Talona. You need to be a little more... Open, about your environments. Your enemy was right at your door, and you did not see it." Resting back against his chair, Alucard cleared his throat, and began again,

"The Cult of Talona, founded in the years of the Holy War, almost within the same time as the Teutonic Order was established, might I add. Talona was created within Vienna of Austria, and was considered a rival community to those of the Teutonics. In wasn't even a year before they were crushed by the forefathers of your Order. The dispute? Over measely quarrels dealing with Holy artifacts, and whether or not to use them within churches of Europe. And that's where Talona vanishes from the pages of history, my friend..."[/color:711c1a3d45]

Odakira stood from his chair and rubbed his forehead, "I see... As for my 'enemy', did you mean Wolfgang?"

Alucard nodded again and replied, "His ancestors had served in the Talona Order. And so did he..."[/color:711c1a3d45]

The white vampire's eyes widened, "Meaning the enemy was next to me the whole time during those years!?"

Chuckling in a maniacal, but quiet way, Alucard responded, "Yes, yes! Thus why you need to be more observant, my friend! He's the reason why Helen nearly died, he's the reason why you and the others had to fight. But, he isn't the one who has the greatest hand at the table... There is another, one who is more powerful than that pathetic pawn was."[/color:711c1a3d45]

Odakira slammed his hands onto the table's top with an unbearable rage; anger pulsating through his body now from knowing his friend was only a traitor from the beginning,

"Tell me where the King of this chess game is!"

"My dear boy..." Alucard responded in a not-so-happy manner, "I already gave you the answer." Then an explosion of laughter filled the library as the crimson vampire became a barrage of bats that melted into the floor, ceiling, and various walls; his laugh dying out shortly after.[/color:711c1a3d45]

It was obvious what the answer was,

"Vienna..." Odakira whispered to himself. Suddenly he snapped up; removing his white trench coat and throwing it upon the chair he was sitting at, as well as revealing his black long-sleeve shirt that curved and covered the muscle definition of his upper body and torso. Opening the door, he exited the library and walked to where everyone else was.

"Pardon me!" Odakira said in a high volumed voice, as if announcing something, "But our dear enemy is in Vienna, and we must get there now. I'll explain whatever needs to be along the way, but right now this 'tea party' needs to end." Continuing his walk, the now black-clothed vampire walked through the small crowd towards the weapon chambers of the Hellsing Manor.

OOC:Sorry if this is somewhat fast, but it will help get things back up again I hope...

"Well," Helen said after the moment of silence that followed Odakira's announcement. "I better get dressed if we're going to Vienna." She went into her room and turned on the light and found a forest green skirt with a matching blazer, a white blouse and a pair of brown loafers. After chaning the bandages on her torso, she put on the new outfit. Jo-jo barked once and rubbed against her leg to beg for attention. Helen laughed and scratched him behind the ears before she stood and looked at herself in the mirror. The color of the suit made her green eyes stand out wonderfully. She lightly brushed her fingertips against the bruise on her right cheek, and winced. That would be there for a long while as a constant reminder of what had happened a few days ago and how her life had changed forever, again. At least the swelling was gone. She sighed and picked up her umbrella, and was about to leave when she saw a phone on a small table. The professor bit her lip, smiled slightly and picked up the phone and dialed a number.

"Hello, Riley," Helen said talking into the phone as she glanced at the newspaper. A frown creased her brow and she picked up the paper and looked over it.

It said that ten of her students had disappeared the night before, and she had a pretty good idea of what had happened to them. The paper did not mention the disappearance of the college professor or that she was a suspect and Helen guessed Sir Hellsing had cleared her name.

"I hope I didn't wake you," she continued as she folded up the paper and held it under her arm. "How about meeting me at the pub? The one you can walk to from St. Gabriel's. I have a wonderful idea for that book you've been wanting to write. Do you think you can meet me there in ten minutes?"

Riley O'Leary sighed and passed one hand over his weary eyes. He'd been sitting in front of his desk for hours, but tonight his pen seemed unusually heavy and slow. It wasn't the alcohol-- he'd written his best while more intoxicated than he was now. It wasn't the hour, either.

All right, God. I'm waiting.

Patience is a virtue, he reminded himself. Good things come to those who wait. Good things like inspiration, for example.

I only wish I didn't have to wait so long.'

He had set down his pen and was about to call it quits when the phone rang rather unexpectedly. He stared at it, wondering who could be calling at this time of night. Someone whose mother was dying and wanted Last Rites, perhaps. Or someone who had just realized how tempting the razor blades and the pills in the medicine cabinet were beginning to look. Yes, he got a lot of those calls. There were a lot of people who wanted comfort, who wanted to be told that they were not, in fact, crazy and stupid and going to hell, and he was often the only one they could turn to. Father Riley's Suicide Hotline, please hold, he thought, supressing the urge to laugh madly.

Maybe I had a little too much whiskey.

He picked up the phone.

The voice on the other end was extremely welcome, considering what he'd been expecting. "Helen!" he exclaimed. "No, no, you didn't wake me." He listened for a moment. "Certainly," he replied to her request, though he couldn't imagine why an idea for a book was so urgent.

But hadn't he just been praying for inspiration?

"I'll be there in ten minutes," he said. "Goodbye, Helen."

He sat back in his high-backed chair and regarded the whiskey bottle for a moment. Rather than take another drink, he simply put the cap back on and placed the bottle back in its cabinet. No reason to get drunk enough to forget everything she has to tell me, he thought.

He swung his coat over his shoulders and walked out.

"Thank you, Riley. I'll see you soon," Helen smiled and hung up the phone. She was glad she hadn't woken up the priest, but it caused her to wonder what he was doing up that late. He was probably writing again, the poor dear, she sighed and walked out the door only to bump into a girl.

"Ah! I'm so sorry!" she said quickly. [/color:9edbbf22e6]

"No, no that's fine," Helen smiled. Jo-jo started barking and growling as he peeked out from behind her legs. She frowned and looked up at the girl who bumped into her. She had blonde hair, blue eyes, a cute blushing face, and a uniform that seemed a bit too tight and too short for her. "I'm sorry for asking this but are you... a vampire."

"Ah... oh yes!" the girl gave a nervous chuckle and smiled at her, revealing her fangs. "But I'm not going to bite you," she added quickly. "I would never do that."[/color:9edbbf22e6]

"That's fine," the professor smiled kindly. Then she frowned and looked down again. "Jo-jo hush! I'm not even going to bother introducing you, since your bing so rude." Jo-jo quieted and Helen returned her attention. "I'm-"

"Helen Thames," the girl finished quickly. "I know! That's why I came to see you. I-I" She handed her a book and a pen. "I wanted you to sign your book. I love your work. I've read this book hundreds of time. Well, maybe not hundreds, but-"[/color:9edbbf22e6]

"Thank you," Helen laughed and took the book and pen. "I'd love to sign it. Please come in." She sat down on the bed and Jo-jo sat at her feet and glared at the little vampire as she sat down on a chair nearby. "Now, tell me your name."

"Ah, it's Victoria, Seras Victoria," she said with a smile.[/color:9edbbf22e6]

"Seras," Helen smiled back and looked down at the open book. She scribbled something on the blank page between the cover and the title page that serves no real purpose, escept to waste paper. "There you go," she said standing up and returning the book and pen to the owner. "And now I must go, or I'll be late." She walked out into the hallway.

"Where are you going?" Seras asked, following her. "It's really late! You shouldn't go out at this hour.[/color:9edbbf22e6]

"I have to go meet a friend of mine," Helen explained as she kept up her brisk pace. "I'll be back before anyone notices I'm gone." They arrived at the door and Helen opened it and smiled at seras. "I promise I'll be careful. If anyone asks, I'll be at the 24-hour pub on Magnolia Avenue. Good night Seras, it was a pleasure to meet you." She stepped outside and shut the door.

"Umm... ok, bye!" Seras muffled voice called.[/color:9edbbf22e6]

Helen took the bus and arrived at the pub only a minute late, despite the delay. She was glad to see that she beat the priest there.

It's hard to believe that such a nice, insecure girl is a draculina. Why she's young enough to be one of my students! she thought. The thought saddened her as she remembered how ten of her students had gone missing. She looked at the paper, sighed and put it down at a table and sat in the booth. Her right side was facing the wall so that no one would notice the bruise unless they were sitting across from her. When a waitress came by to take her order Helen asked for a bowl of water for her dog, and said that she would order when her friend arrived. The smell of beer and tabacco teased the professor's nose and made her sneeze a couple of times before she got used to it.

There was no one else in the pub besides the fat bartender and the sleepy looking waitress. She listened to the music that was playing softly in the background and Jo-jo quietly lapping up his water. Her umbrella was propped up against the booth she sat in, and she played with the sugar packets absentmindedly as she waited for her friend to arrive.
