Erika nodded in acknowledgement, slightly dejected by the look on Moira's face. She glanced down at the angry pup at Helen's face and shruged, smiling weakly. "Well, it seems as if I'm unwanted here by more than one person.", she chuckled, turning around. "I suppose I'll head back to my quarters."[/color:dcbd6e64f5]

"No, no, sorry, I did not mean to offend you," Moira apologised hastily. "I was just wondering who you were."

Helen gently caught hold of Erika's elbow as a silent protest, and a request that she would stay a moment. "You're the chef? Miss Moira, your food is amazing, and I enjoy every bite!" Helen complimented the cook.

"Of course, it awkward when you don't know a person," Helen laughed lightly. "Miss Moira, this is Erika, a friend of mine. Erika, this is Moira. Don't mind Jo-jo, please. He seems to dislike vampires, but he'll get use to it eventually... I hope." She gave the pup a disapproving look, and Jo-jo covered his eyes sheepishly with a paw.

"Oh thank you, Helen, but I just come up with the recipies," Moira replied, "My line cooks are the ones who actually do all the cooking."

She turned to Jo-jo, and looked at the puppy with new respect. "I'll be darned--a dog that can sense the supernatural! I'm a dhampir, so maybe that's why she doesn't seem to like me that much."

She looked at Erika, and said hello. She smiled at her, but inwardly wondered what had happened. She looked... defeated, broken.

Erika grinned, glad to have been called back. The ex-nazi nodded towards Moira as the human introduced them to eachother, and grinned at the dog. "That pup should come in handy, Helen.", she said with a chuckle. Her face snapped up to look at Moira as she claimed to be a dhampir. Slightly confused, she cocked her head to the side.

"Pardon me for my ignorance but... what is a 'dpampir'?", she inquired, struggling to pronounce the word through her accent.[/color:6b5a1546af]

D...d...pampir?? Moira thought, laughing inwardly. "Oh, a dhampir (or dunpeal), is what results when a Vampire and a Human have children. A halfling. I only have blood cravings every once in a while, and they are about as bad as a smoker's craving for cigarettes--I get uncomfortable, and maybe get withdrawal, but I wouldn't die without blood."

She looked at Erika and smiled, "It's OK, I have to explain it to most everyone I meet. Dhampirs are pretty rare, as you can probably imagine."

"Perhaps, when he learns manners," Helen patted him on the head. "He's just rude right now."

"A dhampir? That's incredible," said Helen sincerely. "How did your parents meet? Did they work here as well? Why are you a chef? Do you like to cook? And can I get the recipe for the last meal you made with the beef and potatoes? Why are we out here anyway?"

"Whoa, so many questions!!" Moira said, smiling at Helen. She counted on her fingers as she answered. "I don't know who my parents are, they dropped me off at Hellsing when I was little. I absolutely love to cook, that's why I took this job, instead of continuing assassin work. I can give you the recipe later, and," she stopped to take a breath, "We're going to the library to research something or another."

"How did you make your way here, Helen?"

OOC: Holy crap, my last post was OCT 21?!? JK HOMGEEEEEEE!!!

At first, the hallway seemed normal, like it did any other day. Then, it started to smell smoky. Slowly, a faint scent of cigar smoke permeated the air in the hall. Behind the trio of women, Mernov could suddenly be seen leaning against a wall, casually smoking the same cigar from earlier. His left hand was in his pant pocket, whilst his right hung loosely at his side, ready to remove the cigar from his mouth if he deemed necessary. He moved forward away from the wall, without seeming to have moved even one muscle, then turned and began to walk towards the girls.

"Ah, my favorite cook," said the tall vampire with, with the slightest of grins visible upon his face. "Any special recipes you're concocting, I wonder? If it won't spoil any surprises," Mernov glanced at Helen and Erika, "I do hope you'll tell." He could hear his Jeanne calling out to him, but stayed for just put for just that reason. He knew she had it in her to be strong, and hoped that she would catch on to this test as quick as she had the previous ones. She could already open her third eye for ranged vision, now she needed to use it for darkness. Above all, however, she had to learn to face her fears with dignity, grace, and nanchalance. You can, and will do this, Mernov sent her telepathically. She was still quite green, after all; it wouldn't hurt her to have some encouragement.

OOC: PS: sorry for the awkward re-intro XD;; It's been too long since I posted!

Jeanne felt a shiver slither down her spine as Mernov's voice permeated the silence around her. She parted her lips to speak, but instead closed them, remaining silent. Jeanne wanted nothing but to please her new master and thought it was in her best interest to remain silent. She gripped her arms and trembled, sobbing softly in the dark as she wondered what to do. I wonder if this is what death is like., she pondered through her weeping. For what felt like years she lay there in the dark abyss, her eyes longing to see some fragment of light. Her trembling had begun to lessen, and she found it was becoming easier to breathe.

When at last Jeanne felt that her shaking legs could support her weight, she slowly sat up, resting upon her hands and knees. For a few minutes she stayed in this position, her elbows quivering as she bit her lip and exhaled heavily. Slowly the girl lifted her head up and brought herself to her feet, crouching down with her fingertips resting on the ground. Here she also stayed for several minutes until at last she roused up the courage and strength to stand. Jeanne nearly fell foward back onto the ground again, but caught herself before she did so.

Now that she was finally mobile again, she glanced about the darkness, and took a step forward; the ground felt solid enough. Again she took a step forward and, when she felt that it was safe, started forwards, not sure of what she would be headed towards. The pace of her heart had finally slowed to a more natural one, and she was finding that her entire body was once again growing calm, and less shakey.

"Master...?", she called out weakly, "... what should I do now?"

Mernov narrowed his mind's eye, summoning the concentration to observe his pupil and stay with his conversation at the same time. This was extremely difficult under normal circumstances, but the tall vampire's experience with illusions and toying minds gave him an edge. Also, the simplicity of the events he was focusing on helped to keep his feat quite simple. He observed through his mind's eye that his young pupil had conquered her fears, at least most of the way, but was still quite blind. It was ironic, but she had passed the hardest part of the test and skipped the easier. Nevertheless, Mernov was impressed -- the girl had conquered fear without the aid of vision. This was a great achievment, in his opinion, and a sure sign of the strength of her mind.

"It is quite simple, my child," responded Mernov, his thoughts reflecting the cool composure with which he also held his physical form, "you have simply to open your eyes and see your location for what it is. When you have found that, you have accomplished all of your goals for the night."

While the others were enjoying reunions and such, Christopher had lagged behind the group. He had stopped walking the hallway and started walking his memories. Many were cold, dark, and lonely, and few of them remembered the layout of the manor; he had no idea where the computer terminal, or whatever it was, lay.

By the time he had caught up to the group and remembered himself there were more additions to the handful than he recalled. But even though there were more than he recalled, they were all people he remembered.

The first thing to blurt out of Cristopher's mouth was. "Helen?"

"Helen, it's good to see you again and..." - noticing a change in the entities off to his side - "...Mernov. How fast and interesting, the events of one day. Tell me, can you point me to a computer terminal of some kind?"

Helen's attentioned turned to the blind man who had just addressed her. She looked him up and down, and tried very hard to place his face with a name, but couldn't remember ever meeting him before. However, it was evident that he knew her... somehow...

See me again? Helen thought to herself as she strugged to recall. The man is blind, how can he see? Does he carry the cane around just for the fun of it?

"Um, well, it's good to see you, too," Helen started carefully, and her green eyes flickered with curiosity. "I'm very sorry, but even though you seem to know who I am, I'm afraid I can't recall ever seeing you before. You wouldn't mind introducing yourself, would you?"

Shadows had reappeared shortly after Mernov, this time appearing behind Kyphus...er...Christopher...and promptly rapping a knuckle against his "shoulder". There was a metallic ring upon contact, like that of a hammer hitting an anvil.

"Does that help some?" Shadows asked with a grin. Turning to face his vampiric ally, Shadows kept his grin as he moved.

"You know, Mernov," he said, tilting his head to one side, "Why do I get the feeling you aren't going to stay and help us with the reasearch, but will turn up again when the fight starts?"

"He's just in this for the entertainment? Funny, so am I," commented Moira. "Oh, Mernov, I hope you like truffles. I recently discovered a map to some. Which is good, as I was running out. I'll have to go out looking for them one of these nights, it's good practice for my senses."

OOC:Truffles are mushrooms that grow underground. Usually, people use dogs or pigs to find them, but Moira is suggesting using the heightened senses of a Dhampir/Vampire to find them. :O
