The blessed bullet burned him as it entered his chest, even blasting him back against the far wall. He looked down at the wound. It had gone just to the right of the sternum, and had exited out of his back. Sinking to his knees, Shadows brought a hand to the hole and cursed his slow reaction. He reached for his own gun, but saw that Helen had it instead. He watched as Wolfgang soon melted to dust.
"Ashes...to Ashes..." he muttered, spitting out some blood with his words. He looked over to see Helen, sobbing into her hands. He managed to crawl over. "Are...you alright?" he asked, his voice thick with his own blood. OOC:...yay... |

The outcome of Wolfgang's death was inevitable, but for Shadows, the injury he sustained was a mishap. Odakira's golden eyes studied the gaunt figure of Erika as she lamented within the ashes of her former love. For her, there was nothing he could do.
Pivoting upon his heel, Odakira looked down at the two cringed figures of Helen and Shadows. He knew that standing there was not going to be of any use to the vampire, for the holy bullet nearly tore through his heart. Kneeling down beside the two, he grabbed each under their arm, and helped them to their feet; his presence chilling as always. The white vampire took to his stride, his speed unburdeneded by the two figures he carried, but stopped and glanced back pitifully at Erika once more. His eyelids narrowed as a hollowed expression came to the pigment of his optics, and with this he also sent out a telepathic message to Mernov. "Mernov... Meet me at the medical bay." His tone echoed, and clearly could describe that something bad had just happened through a telepahtic message. Odakira then turned about once again, and whispered to the two in his grasps, "...Fear not... We all have our times for these... sudden changes." Within the midst of his words, he heaved a sigh. Then, glancing over to the bleeding figure of Shadows once more, his eyes almost seemed to speak out to him with the words 'You did your best, don't regret it'. With a nod, he turned within the hall towards the direction of where the medical bay was, speaking out once more to let Erika hear his words, "He loved you Erika... Life shall go on, even for us Children of the Night. Live... and fight in his honor, if you must." As he traversed the hall with Helen and Shadows, his head lowered to gaze at the floor; lost deeply in thought. What events would now come of this? And what was the Cult of Talona? Maybe Erika knew, but it would not be the right time to interrogate her... |

Helen sobbed as the tears rolled down her cheeks. She held onto the Bible in her free hand once again, as if she was clutching her own sanity. "I panicked... I didn't mean to kill anyone... Forgive me..."
The professor was hardly aware of her surroundings as Odakira dragged her down the hallway. She blinked as she realized she was moving fairly quickly, and being held by someone. She turned her head and saw Odakira looking down at the floor as though he was lost in thought. Then she looked over at the othjer person he was carrying, and reconized Shadows, who was bleeding profusely. She closed eyes, and struggled against Odakira's grasp on her. "No!" she cried weakly. "Let go. Too much pain... too much sorrow... too much death... No more! Please, no more..." |

He was dead when he starting attacking us. He was dead when his soul was gone. The same as those vampires at the school. The people they used to be would have screamed for you to end the mockery of their lives. Please...understand..." Damn, he thought. His lung was filling with blood, complicating his speech for the time being.
"Only those who have souls are truly alive..." |

Odakira spoke calmly to Shadows as they continued to traverse down the halls. Finally reaching the medical bay, the white vampire effortlessly picked Shadows up by his arm, and laid him amongst the table. As for Helen, he sat her softly amongst one of the other tables. His golden optics gleamed over to one side of the room to a pile of blankets. Bringing his hand up, one of the blankets flew through the air into Odakira's grasp, only to be unfolded an wrapped around Helen's shivering figure.
Odakira then turned to check on Shadows, but found a doctor standing a little too close to him. Frowning slightly to the somewhat 'nosey' doctor, as Odakira took him to be, he spoke calmly to the medic of Shadow's condition, "My friend needs a little patching up. I expect you to do your best." Though his tone was soft, it was clearly backed up by the effect his words made to the doctor's ears. The medical man seemed to have jumped slightly, and quickly turned, waving for a few nurses to help him with Shadows wound. Amidst the bustle, Odakira turned and made his way to stand in front of Helen's cringed form. He studied the sorrow that emitted greatly from her spirit, and placed a hand softly amongst her shoulder. Leaning forward, he whispered into her ear in a soothing matter, "I apologize for what has happened these past few nights... If only God himself could rid our damned presence, we would not be of a pest to the world." Letting out a quiet sigh, he continued, "All you humans can do is keep fighting... Fighting until we are gone. It may be hard for you to understand... but soon you shall..." |

They were there to help, he knew, but he didn't need a tremendous amount of help. The blood was beginning to congeal around the wound and some of it was drying up. He was not mortally wounded, just a punctured lung. He didn't need to breate anymore, so it made little difference.
"I said, back!" Shadows reiterated, sitting up and spitting some blood into a bucket one doctor had been smart enough to bring. "I don't need your help...just get me a bandage and I'll be fine!" "Odakira..." he asked, looking at the white vampire, "Was it wise to leave Erika alone in that room?" |

With a sincere glare to his eyes, he spoke out, "Erika is not one to... 'explode', shall we say?" Bringing up his black gloved hand to wipe away his brown hair from his golden optics, he continued, "In time, she'll be fine. Scarred, but will heal... She is a strong girl." Lowering his hand to the table's top that Helen sat amongst, he pushed himself up to sit beside her; instantly latching his other hand to the edge of the table's surface.
Letting out another sigh, he looked to the ground with his furrowed expression once more, speaking out almost as if he were talking to himself, "Mernov should have not done such a thing, I believe... But, then again... 'All's fair in Love and War', right?" |

She traced the letters on the binding of the Holy Book in her hands. Tears still rolled down her cheeks, but not as fevently as before. Souless creatures? She shuddered violently for a moment asshe recalled the words of Shadows. How was that any justification for killing anyone? They were people like her once, and she could have become what they were.
She then reflected on what Odakira had told her, and frowned. Does it bother him that he's killing other vampires, his own kind? How did he start working fir the Order? Helen rubbed her eyes and drew in a deep, shakey breath. The tears had almost stopped completely, and she slowly began to pull herself together. Erika? Helen thought, and then a picture of the vampiress flashed in her memory. Oh, that girl. "What did Mernov do?" she asked softly, her voice sounded frail as though it might break if she talked to loud. |

Mernov placed his strong hand on the girl's head to silence her, then slightly ruffled her hair playfully. He shook his head slightly then placed his hand upon her shoulder. "M'lady, it will do you great harm to be this way in battle," the tall vampire said sternly, his powerful voice reverberating around the stone walls of the dungeons. "You shall be strong, and you shall not hesitate. Come, this shall be perhaps your hardest lesson yet -- I do hope you are prepared." With a whirl of his cloak, they disappeared, only to reappear in a room, or what must have been a room. It was pitched-black. Mernov now moved behind her to place both his hands upon both her shoulders. "You will have approximately five minutes," he said succinctly. "Stay calm. I will return shortly." And with that he was gone. He reappeared just oustide of the medical wing and walked in on cue, just as Helen asked her question. "He gave the overconfident Nazi what he deserved," the tall vampire answered before anyone else could. He raised an eyebrow as he surveyed the scene; it was unexpectedly bloody. He sensed that the Nazi he'd just spoken of had came and left -- he assumed the destination was nowhere pleasant. He looked over to his old friend and offered him a mischevious grin before saying, "Shadows, have you been cleaning loaded pistols again? I've told you time and time again...." |

He opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted as the butler, Walter, made his way into the room ever-so graceful as he casually did.
"What's all this ruckus about, might I ask?" The butler asked in his firm and usual voice; locking his hands behind his back. "A small injury Shadows had sustained." Odakira spoke up to answer him. With a small sway of his legs, Odakira's footing landed amongst the cold tile floor and turned to face the grim Walter as he continued, "Nothing serious, but may I ask a favor of you Walter?" In his questioning, the white vampire brought his hand into his long-coat's pocket, and removed a small empty vial, and threw it into the butler's direction. Walter swiftly snapped his hand and caught the small bottle with masterful grace, his haunting yet sharp eyes moved from Odakira to the bottle, and spoke, "What would this favor be, kind sir?" His tone remained unscathed in it's firmness. "Our... 'friend' Wolfgang has passed on, I would appreciate it if you head to dear Erika's room and gather a small sample of Wolfgang's blood." Odakira replied. With a small bow of his head, Walter turned about smoothly and made his way to the room; his figure vanishing into the halls from everyone's view. Letting out breath of some relaxation, though still stressed somewhat in his mind, Odakira turned around to face Helen again with his gauntly expression once more, "As for what Mernov did..." The vampire spoke out, his expression clearly gave off that he was not comfortable to what he was about to say, but it had to be said... "He managed to trick Erika's heart and feelings away from Wolfgang. He made Wolfgang's only reason for living the reason he would die." Clearing his voice, he lowered his sights to the white floor, and continued in almost a whisper, "As for his illusions, I have no idea what he did... But he must of... 'Put salt in the wound'. I personally disagree with it all, since I was a good friend of the two, but no more. 'Tis a pity..." |

Where did he-? Nevermind... She remained silent as she listened to the two vampires give their explanations. Her green eyes swept over Mernov, and then Odakira, and she examined their expressions and body language closely.
Mernov didn't seem bothered in the least. If anything, he was quite proud of what he had done to Erika, and... what did Odakira say his name was? Ah yes, Wolfgang. Then again, the vampire was tricky to read because he gave her nothing to read, except a weird glint in his eyes and a mischievious grin. Helen had to confess to herself that Mernov made her slightly uneasy. The white vampire, on the other hand, seemed to believe that a great injustice had been committed to the two vampires. His friends? How strange. The other night they didn't sound like they wanted to be friends with Odakira at all. Didn't they take Helen to get some kind of revenge? Was Odakira angry with Helen? After all, she was the one who pulled the trigger and turned his "friend" into a pile of ashes. Helen shivered slightly, and took a deep breath. "Odakira," she started softly. "Wolfgang and Erika weren't here to have a spot of tea, and they did not speak of you very fondly. What were they doing in England? What did they want? Why did it involve Mernov, Shadows, and you? Why did they drag me into it?" She glanced at Mernov, and looked over at Shadows with concern in her eyes. Was he really going to be ok? Shadows was pretty bloody, but he sounded confident that he'd be fine. She clung to the blanket tighty around her shoulders because the table was cold. "As pitiful as their situation may be, Odakira, it seems to me that those two poked a sleeping bear." |

The white vampire's mind shuffled through many thoughts and ways he could retaliate the many questions and simple theory of the woman's words. There was a greater deepness to this than she or the others would ever know.
"It's quite obvious they wanted you Helen. It is indeed hard to find virgins of your age and intelligence." The vampire said firmly, just stating what was to be said, "Basically, you would make a great addition to their army if they would of bit you. That is why they dragged you into this, as for Mernov and Shadows... I'd guess they were looking for a challenge within their forte..." Odakira's eyes came to the floor once more as he began to think of the past; remembering the moment of when he lost his first battle to Wolfgang. Though it wasn't purposely done and that he merely let Wolfgang win, the fact that the event that turned them away and led Odakira and Wolfgang to be enemies that he would never kill Wolfgang. This caused the Nazi to think he could win, and he could, for Odakira had a weakness... and that weakness was his reminiscing thoughts and loyalty. Looking back up to retaliate to Helen's next statement, his eye's became sharp like the first time they met with Helen's; piercing and intimidating. His voice boomed, but not loudly so he may not sound angered, but to prove his point, "Like the Lord to you humans, Erika and Wolfgang found something better to worship after having become such... 'desolate' creatures." Odakira began, clearing his throat as he placed his hands into the pockets of his white robes, "They worshipped their friendship, which obviously came about to be love. Fighting for what you believe in is what you do so well, Helen... As for them, they fought for themselves." "Answer me this, would you continue to fight for your God if he were to forsake and forget you?" He allowed a moment to let his words ring deep into her mind, giving the time needed for her to answer. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Shadows wiped some blood from his mouth and grinned.
"And you've told me enough times, dear Mernov," he said, "that whenever I clean my gun, I point it at you." He coughed up some more blood, but there was a lot less this time around. "Here's my question," Shadows said, trying to draw some pressure from Helen for the moment, "Why on EARTH would a vampire like that have blessed bullets in his gun? HE obviously didn't sanctify them..." He shot Odakira a telepathic message. "She's been through enough, my white-robed friend. Let her be." Odakira was using his booming tone again, which did not please Shadows in the slightest, because it was most certainly not needed here. Shadows shook his head, then looked to the white vampire. "You...are trying to get Wolfgang's blood?" he asked, slightly incredulous. "Didn't Erika say she would never free herself from him...I only remember bits and pieces..." |

She gave Shadows a small smile as a way of thanks for changing the subject. She still felt worried about him, since he was still coughing up a good amount of blood. She bit her tongue, and glowered at Odakira for a moment before ignoring him completely. She glared at the floor as if her green eyes could create a hole in the sterile floor of the hospital wing if she waited long enough. She felt unsatisfied with the answers Odakira had given her, and there was no reason why he had to challenge her beliefs. |

Nodding slightly to himself, the white vampire looked back up with an aura in his eyes that gave the message 'Forgive me' for a small moment. Turning about to face Shadows, Odakira stood straight again and spoke, "You do know of the 3rd Reich set by Hitler in World War Two, I would assume... Even the Pope stood on his side, and gave blessings to his soldiers. Not to mention the Holy Roman Empire that the dictator tried to re-instate was created under 'The Will of God' as they call it..." Bringing his fingers to rest at his chin, Odakira began to ponder, "I'm sure the Sects of the Holy Roman Empire still exist. I'm positive they are the one's who are doing the blessing."
Odakira walked over to the nearest wall he could see, and proceeded to lean against it in a relaxing manner; a small grin spread across his face to Shadows' second inquiry. Clearing his throat, he spoke out smoothly to the injured vampire, "It is for when she decides to be free. I have a feeling she will. We have taken so much from her right now, and beyond that..." Then, quickly looking over to Helen, he spoke out to her quickly before she got a wrong intention, "Don't feel as if we're leaving you out of this, if it wasn't for us vampires, you would have a home, and your neighbors and such would not be dead. As well as Erika, we owe you more than apologies..." The vampire then brought his foot up to the wall he leaned against; crossing his arms over his chest. These past few days have been quite hectic, but he had the obvious feeling that more of it might come about. |
