"It's not that you weren't supposed to see me, it's just odd." he said, "You are the second human who has ever seen me while I'm trying to hide." This, however, took the smile from his face, as he remembered the little boy that had seen him before...and how that when he became a teenager, he was turned into a being of darkness because of his special powers. Vampires could normally sense exceptionally skilled humans and converted them to add to their own power. Could that be why they attacked Helen and wrecked her home? Shadows didn't know, but he took that moment to snap back to reality. "Um, lemon would do just fine," he said, crouching down near Jo-Jo. He held out his hand for the dog to sniff. "I'm not a bad person, really." he said to the lab. |

After another moment of rummaging around in the drawers of her desk, she pulled out a couple of teacups and plastic spoons.
"Only one other?" Helen inquired. "Well, after three centuries your bound to meet a couple of people who can see you." Jo-jo glared at the vampire, but he did nudge his nose against his fingers as a sign of tolerance. He then turned away, and laid down at his mistress' feet. "He's a a bit over protective..." Helen chuckled softly. "And he doesn't seem very fond of vampires at the moment..." She bent down and scratched him behind the ears. "But he's a good boy." Then the kettle began to whistle, which startled Helen causing her to stand up too quickly and bump her head on the desk. "Ouch," she winced, and she stood up slower as she rubbed the tiny bump on the back of her head. She flushed from embarrassment, and she carefully poured hot water in to the cups. She placed the packet of lemon into Shadows cup and handed it to him. "Here you are." |

He glanced quickly over to 'Erika' and tried to calm her with his soothing touch, using his free hand to do so. He spoke out quickly in reaction to both the girl and Mernov's words, trying to end a false problem before it grows bigger in strength. "No, Erika, he is lying! Don't listen to him, I would dare not ever trick you into such a thing!"
Soon, Erika tore away from his one-handed embrace. 'This can't be happening! Why would Erika be like this? She was never one to be so hasty on an emotional scale. Something isn't right. It has to be Mernov! It HAS to be!' The locket unequipped itself from around Erika's neck as she ripped it away. As it flew to the ground from her throw, it seemed to have shattered in Wolfgang's mind. His facial complexions became grim, almost stammering in sorrow. This was all a big destruction upon his mind. The "truth" that Mernov had spoke of seemed so real, everything was falling down hill. 'No... The locket... Our life.... Our love... Erika...' The Nazi vampire's grasp upon his weapon fell limply, the cannon's tip came into contact with the ground as his world was being picked apart. All by words, mischievious yet believing words. Standing straight, firming his stature to a stern position, he finally let loose of Moloch, it's heavy and bulky figure fell down hard amongst the dirt ground. There was nothing he could do, he turned slowly over to view the kneeling foe. His eye's narrowed, his sight throwing a piercing glimpse into Mernov's own. Soon to fall to one knee himself, swinging down his fist at a high velocity into the ground. In reality, Wolfgang's figure began to spark with darkness. After a moment or so had passed, another spark would drift across his figure in a random traverse. His crimson optics began to well up with blood, then suddenly, one fell from his cheek to the ground. As it had came into contact with the ground, it splattered, only to sink into the earth. His breath began to stammer as his mind randomly threw out many thoughts to Erika's reasoning. 'I'd never do such a thing... Erika... Believe me... This can't be happening, this ca-' Wolfgang's optics widened as he lowered his pupils to gaze where his tear struck the ground. It didn't scorch the grass at it had done once at the cemetary, after the human began to recite a verse. Nor did it do the same with Erika's tears. 'Wait... What is this!?' Wolfgang sputtered into a wild chuckle, soon building to his original maniacle laugh, for the rush of sorrow that Mernov had given him soon became fuel for his strength. A high of now relizing his mistake gave him the pleasure of actually underestimating an opponent. Quickly standing to his feet, allowing his hand to grasp Moloch once again as he did so fluantly, he rose the gun quickly, aiming it's barrel at the head of his lowered opponent. In reality, the sparks grew in number and shot out further and further from his petrified figure. 'It was all mere trickery all along! I am glad to have found an opponent who had done such damage with a mere illusion. I am going to ENJOY this battle!' "Schlect... Sehr schlect, meine freunde..." He whispered, his toothy grin widely stretched upon his complexions. Allowing a shrug and a sigh to pass off his figure, he continued, "I applaude you though for your efforts, but... it has come time for you to die!" His optics then widened as his expression became rage-filled, shouting strongly and loudly, erupting into another wave that seemed to ripple the entire illusion within his mind. The echo ran through his mind, a shrill sound of glass shattering shot through his cortex. Within reality, he opened his eyes widely, his mind set to kill. As soon as he came out of the illusion's grasp, he dashed at Mernov with great speed, his free hand shot out a tremendous black spark that surrounded his body only to flow into his hand, allowing the darkness to create a thicker barrier around his clenched fist. 'NO MORE TREACHERY!!! TIME TO KILL!!!' Nothing but the maddening thoughts of Mernov's sly mind-games ran amuck in the corners of his brain. Wolfgang then swung out madly at Mernov, his fist' velocity aimed directly at the heart of his opponent's stature.[/color:4905f534c5] Odakira glanced down, his smile vanished from his face instantly as he saw the beastly figure of Kyphus below him. Surprised to see him, yet somewhat clueless as to his tardiness, he waved down to him from where he stood amongst the top of the rubble. Allowling a low chuckle to escape his domain, he replied back light-heartedly to Kyphus' remark. "My dear friend, I would admit..." Allowing his gaze to escape the beast's presence, he glanced back up at three vampires, his mouth opening to speak out once again to continue, "They do seem to be having a little fun getting a tan from the moon." Shaking his head, he lowered his gaze back down to Kyphus. "So, where were you? You didn't seem to co-" Interrupted, Odakira glanced quickly over to see Wolfgang rushing madly at Mernov in a flurry. The darkness aura that his pupil emitted was near a black-flame that trailed ethereally behind him. It indeed was a sight to behold, to Odakira at least... 'He finally managed to do it. At'a boy...' Odakira's smile came back to his face, the weakness to the illusion was the environment. In most cases, as he tried to teach Wolfgang, the environment within the illusion isn't affected as 'instantly' as it would in the real world. Though this solved Wolfgang's problem, would Erika be able to? Shaking his head, he allowed his arms to uncross and rest at his sides. He glanced over at the still petrified figure of Wolfgang's love. 'Whatever Mernov did to Wolfgang was nearly sucessful, as for Erika though... If she doesn't break free, she'll be lost till Death in her thoughts. It would be a shame to see such a wasted effort.' Odakira was half-tempted to prompt Wolfgang of the situation through telepathy, but he quickly disclosed the thought. Whatever happened in the past that caused the problems between the three 'friends', was meant to last forever. No other way could their relationship be fixed till a fight to the death has commenced between him and Wolfgang. Overhead, the moon's light faded, soon to be blocked by a dark cloud. Odakira's optics shimmered slightly, then glanced up to have his enriched eyes fade to a dull orange. Tilting his head to one side, he lowered his gaze once again, awaiting to see the outcome of Wolfgang's attack. OOC:Translation: Bad... Very bad, my friend...

I honestly don't think that Mernov's illusion would miss that, as illusions are his specialty and he's had many centuries to perfect them. However, I guess I'll let it slide since you wrote so much on the assumption that the illusion was imperfect
Mernov raised his eyebrows slightly as he sensed the tall Nazi escaping from this first illusion. He must have gone a bit soft, having not used his illusions in quite some time. The tall vampire began to grow irritated with his opponent's blatant igorance; This was now the third or fourth time that the man had ignored Mernov's words, and it was starting to bother him. However, he'd dealt with ignorance before, not to mention fools in a blind rage. This was by no means the first time and, the tall vampire thought sadly, it was unlikely that it would be the last. Mernov looked into the eyes of his attacker and pulled the enraged vampire into another illusion as he stepped neatly out of the way of the rather linear attack. The pulsating fist pierced through Mernov's flesh with great effort; its movement was slow at first, but then sped up as it bored through the bones of its target's ribcage. The first then plowed through the heart, obliterating it. The tall vampire fell backwards from the fist which pierced his body, motionless. There was a thud and a splat as it collided with the ground, what little amount of blood that was present in it draining out through the whole in his chest. The grass sizzled and the ground seemed to open its greedy mouth as the blood soaked in. Mernov's body twitched slightly, his lips mouthing the word "truth," but otherwise was still. Behind Wolfgang, Erika was standing with a horrified look upon her face. "You... you killed him!" the girl shouted, her eyes misty with her oncoming tears. "I thought you were above that, Mein Herr. I tried to get you to just leave with me... but you ignored me! I thought I meant more to you than that. What happened to you?" She paused for a moment, breathing heavily, but keeping her tears from falling. "You used to be so kind, so caring. And yet, now you kill your men for no other purpose than to test your toy. And now you kill this vamp! True he was scum of the highest form, but... you destroyed him. You let rage control you. I don't even know what to think of you anymore! How can I feel safe when you seem so quick to kill?" The young girl gripped the locket (which she now had once again) tightly, as though hoping it would give her strength or tell her what to do. "You... you're starting to scare me." Wolfgang seemed to be softened slightly by the words the young girl behind him spoke. His sights remained trained on the fallen Wolfgang, but he turned to look at Erika with a sad look upon his face. He closed his eyes, then turned back to face the tall vampire before him. He said nothing, but his expression seemed to contain all the words that needed to be said. "No, I must kill him. I must kill him," the nazi said, almost as though he were in some sort of trance. His voice was cold, almost sinister. "He must die. He will not confuse you with his words anymore." His face seemed to change from appearing sad to appearing frighteningly happy. His lips parted to show his canines in a look which resembled crazed excitement, perhaps even the bloodlust which he had thusfar expertly subdued. He chuckled to himself, then pulled the trigger. All that was left of Mernov was a pile of dust, which seemed to blow away with the wind, some of it catching in the hair and clothing of those present, some even getting in the eyes. To the girl's words of "belief" he merely chuckled again. "Believe it or not, Mein Liebe," he said sinisterly. "I love you, and you love me as you said." He paused for a moment, dropping Moloch rather unceremoniously and moving closer to her. "You are mine, engel, whether or not you believe it." He stopped again, frowning angrily as he remembered something unpleasant. "Things were perfect before that fool ruined things. You trusted me, you believed. Oh well, even if you don't anymore, you cannot leave. I won't let you." OOC: the nature of these illusions is not to drive one to insanity, nor to trap them forever. the point, at least in this situation, is to destroy the person's will to fight by manipulating truths and emotions. This is, almost always, quite effective because it does not involve feeding someone lies and convincing them to believe it, rather feeding them truths or enhanced truths, or simply playing upon a person's doubts or fears, all of which need little persuasion to accept. This is alot easier for Mernov for obvious reasons; he doesn't have to create the ideas, nor does he have to take the effort to influence a person's thoughts -- the things he uses are in the person's mind already, or the mind of someone close to them, and they are usually already rather willing to believe. All Mernov has to do is create a believable reality in which to feed these things, which he has become very adept at doing.
He "could" do the other method though, just as he could pull them into a mental prison, inside which he could torture them for 72 hours or so, only to have them wake up to find that only a second has passed. Well... "wake up" ;) He probably can't do the latter with more than one person at a time, though, as it probably takes quite a bit of energy. He also can probably on do one or two a day. What he's doing right now, though, is quite easy, as I said ^_^ |

A splatter of the crimson fluid was thrown about in an instance, some streaking acrossed the Nazi's face as he threw the punch. As Mernov's body fell in a heap of red and steam, Wolfgang glanced down at the body, tilting his head to one side. His lips expanded around his gritted teeth to create a grin. Now convinced he wasn't in an illusion, for now the blood of the vampire would scorch the earth, he allowed a low chuckle to escape his domain. Soon to speak out in a whisper to himself in a victorious tone,
"It's finally over for you, old man..." Shaking loose some of the crimson from his sleeve, allowing it to spatter and steam with contact to the ground, he turned to see Erika standing in the midst of his sight. He took a step forward, announcing to her his victory in a unctuous tone, "Worry not my love, it is all over now..." Soon to be pelted with the many accusations of his love, Wolfgang's grin faded, soon to become a facial complexion of confusion and distraught. Retaliating in somewhat of an agitated tone, Wolfgang spoke out in a near loud volume, "I killed him to break the spell he put upon you! If I hadn't, you could of been in risk to his seduction time and time again. Who knows what he would of done, probably made you walk out into the day and burn to ashes!" As to the rest of her words, Wolfgang shook his head to the lies she spoke, "I do still care for you, liebe! If I'm not mistaken, you wanted me to do something about them soldiers who were trying to get a bit of you! You didn't seem to have a problem with me destroying them! Not to mention how many times I mentioned how I'd rid the world of this scum!" To the last of his words, he gestured his arm to the pile of guts and entrails that was of Mernov's body. His eyes narrowed to the end of Erika's words. 'Fear me? Why would she...? She knows me better than this? "Why are you afraid of me...? I've never done anything to hurt you! Not to mention the pain I've suffered to save you and always be there for you! Why, Erika?" His tone was shakened. Confusion was getting the best of him, for he had accomplished his task, and expected a good outcome, but only to have it shredded down to a bad ending. The world seemed to have turned against him in his mind... [/color:532877d9bd] |

You don't own me" she whispered, frowning as she backed away from him. Her knuckles were turning white from her death-grip on the locket that the man before her had given to her. Her eyes felt slightly watery as she blinked, turning her face away. "You kill without any discrimination.. I do love you, Wolfgang but... you're starting to scare me." Erika gestured to the Moloch he had dropped moments ago, a small tear falling from her eye.
"I know you wouldn't kill me, but.. I'm scared that I'm going to be the cause of you killing more innocent people; altho I know that Mernov wasn't innocent exactly.. it was my fault for being so easily swayed by his... charm, I suppose.. I know it wasn't magic. It was.. something else.." Erika finished, clutching the locket at her bosom. She reached out for his hand, her tips grazing the top gently before clasping his gloved hand in her own, delicate one. "I don't want us to have a fake relationship... Though he found himself quite irritated that the one called Wolfgang was able to escape, if only briefly, he was pleased to see the Nazi back within the false reality. The escape had not been without purpose however; it allowed Mernov to focus his illusions to be the way they were the last time he'd used them: rich, full, and without flaw; his centuries of training had served him well in his quest for a "perfect" illusion. He decided that it would not be wise to allow himself to get so out of practice again, and decided he would have to enlist the help of Shadows every so often in order to keep his skills from rusting.
Erika remained silent for a short spell, finding great interest in the various defects and bits of dust and dirt which were on her boots. She apparently felt that she'd stepped out of line for the way she spoke just moments ago, and was hesitating now to answer the questions her master put to her. When he spoke of the "spell" which Mernov had supposedly placed her under, especially, she seemed hesitant to even look up from her dilligent examinations of her footwear. She opened her mouth nervously, without looking up, but closed it again before even a sound could escape. Then, after taking a deep breath and exhaling it quickly she looked up to face Wolfgang, though she pointedly avoided looking directly in his eyes. "Mein herr," the young girl began tentatively, "you always speak of a "spell." There... I... he... he didn't use any magick." She took another deep breath, exhaling it quickly as though the previous sentance had taken much more effort to say than even her stammering demonstrated. After a short pause she continued. "I don't know what it was -- maybe just charm, I really don't know -- but he didn't place me under any spell. I tried to tell you, I really did, but... I just.... It was... something else. It didn't feel the same as when you... do that. I just...." Erika suddenly turned away, breaking her eye contact with Wolfgang. When she spoke again, she still didn't raise her head. "Yes, Mein herr, I wanted something done. Any decent woman would be upset by the way I was treated back then. But you killed them! You murdered them without warning! Even this one here. Yes, he deserved to be punished, but... you're killing now without discrimination! I know you wouldn't kill me, at least I do hope so, but... it's frightening. I don't want you turning into some sort of blind murderer in my name, I just couldn't live with myself. "I do care for you, I know that in my heart mein herr, but...." the young girl paused again slightly, bringing a delicate hand to her face while the other still clutched the locket with such strength that it seemed she feared that she would die if she let go. "He was scum yes, but does that mean he always lies? I don't know, it's just... what he's said makes a lot of sense and it worries me. I care for you, really! I just... I don't want us to have a fake relationship. I couldn't bare to live with such a thing; it hurts to even think of it. Mein herr... it really hurts." A tear fell from the corner of her eye, but she struggled to remain standing, with her interest in her boots strong once again. The tall Nazi looked down at the frightened girl standing before him as she backed away. A sneer crossed his face, showing a mixture of sick enjoyment and great annoyance. His eyes examined her trembling form with passionate interest, and yet seemed to be cold and almost devoid of emotion. He flexed his strong, gloved fingers which had held a massive weapon just moments before, as though he prepared to lift it into his arms once again. He listened to her words with a look resembling confusion upon his face, as though what she said was a completely foreign idea to him. At any rate, he didn't appear to be that pleased with what he heard. "Don't own you?" Wolfgang asked curiously, though there was a hint of mocking hiding within his voice. "Hah, I turned you and brought you to the Reich. I gave you everything you have. I gave you love and protection! You should be glad that I am so good to you as to treat you as an equal. Scare you, do I? Machiavelli once said that it is better to be feared than loved. Though I wish for you to love me as you once did, perhaps it is best that you are frightened. Maybe this fear of yours will one day turn to love once again. Kill you? Be obedient and of course I won't. However, if you disobey me, well.... I killed those soldiers for no reason at all; I killed this Mernov because he was trying to help you. What makes you think I wouldn't kill you if you tried to disobey me?" Wolfgang paused, releasing his breath quickly as though he'd been holding it for some time. His expressions seemed to soften as he realized what he'd just said. "I'm sorry," the Nazi vampire spoke, though his words carried emptiness and no excess of sincerity. "I don't wish for us a fake relationship either, engel, but I must have you by my side. I must! You are too important to me to be lost because of some fool's spell." The last word had added emphasis, as though he didn't believe or didn't like her explanation of Mernov's control over her. |

"As a vampire," he began, "I have mastered stealth techniques unrivaled in all of Hellsing...Save Mernov, of course. But you saw me without trying. You have a special gift, young lady. That's why the vampires followed your scent to your home. They came looking for you. "I don't know what you mean by that. Are you sure you're looking at my aura correctly? I'm just Helen, just Helen..." she trailed off and took a sip of tea, and thought for a moment.
"Yes..." the professor said thoughtfully. "I call them miracles, but they would be considered strange occurances to you... perhaps... but I don't think it's what you expect." In fact she had had many "strange occurances" happen in her life. When she was in trouble, she simply prayed, and sometimes she didn't have to do that, and a solution presented itself. She always remembered to thank God in her prayers after each little miracle. She remembered when she felt as if the forces of evil were pressing down on her, trying to suffocate her, and then she prayed. It had been a wonderful experience. The terrible sensation left almost instanly and a calm fell upon her. It was almost as if someone, a good friend, had placed their hands on her shoulders, like when she had been locked in the room yesterday. Every once in a while she would get the feeling... like a small voice whispering in her heart, not to go down a street, or to avoid a person on a corner. None of it was related to vampires until she prayed for help two nights ago. She believed God saw fit to send Odakira to her aid, and she thanked him for that. "I really can't explain why I was able to see you, Mr. Shadows," Helen stared into her cup and stirred her tea slowly. "Maybe it was my childhood fears... maybe it's simply my lifestyle, maybe it's my faith, I don't know." "And if those vampires were looking for me, why did they kill my neighbors?" Helen grimaced as she remembered the pictures of the carnage Orcot had shown her when he tried to get her to confess to her "crimes." "Maybe they were just looking for a quick bite." She raised the cup to lips and took another sip, and closed her eyes. I should've just stayed home that night... A sudden movement by a window caught her eye, and Helen Casually looked out the window as she took another sip. Sure enough, there were people out there. She could see their silouhettes, and she knew they should be there. "Mr. Shadows," she whispered softly, and nodded to the windows. "I believe we have company." |

"JUST KILL ME AND GET IT OVER WITH! YOU NEVER LOVED ME! You just USED me, WOLFGANG! USED ME!" Erika's voice grew hoarse, and her words were difficult to make out from the tears and hiccups that grew more frequent as her emotions flared. The torn girl began to rip the various medals and adornments from her uniform, throwing them down onto the ground before she would bury her face into her knees once more.
"I... I HATE YOU, WOLFGANG! How could you have DONE this to me?!" she screamed, looking up at him, her crimson eyes lost in the ruby sea of her tears. "I thought we loved eachother, but I was HORRIBLY mistaken. The words he had said once before to Erika seemed to bounce back in misunderstanding. Something wasn't right about her, she didn't seem a bit scathed by his words in the past. When she spoke of no spell amongst her mind from Mernov's doings, he shook his head, soon to speak out in a brilliant volume, and a resonating tone.
"If that were true, Mein Frau, why would you jump so carelessly into danger for him?" He then took a step towards her small figure, bringing a hand to his chest in a expressive gesture, "Knowing the risk of my attack, and simple wooing words he spoke that any man could of done... And yet you defended him?" His head shook slightly as the fear built in his mind of one of his unwishful thoughts. The most unwishful of all... "If you are persuaded so easily by just his words, do you even love me...? Love me as you did when we were close friends before?" Expressing his voice in almost a tone of hatred; hatred as in having to ask such a question brought a cold feeling to his heart. Opening his mouth to question her again, he minded his tongue as she spoke out. The next set of words was just untruthful. He never wished to kill his men, but he knew of their "thoughts" towards Erika. It was totally unbelievable. He knew the feeling of joy she had gained when he blew away his men. He sensed it as if it were his own spirit and emotion. She had to be lying. "They are vampires Erika, just as you and me! They saw it coming, and yet they didn't move! Other than disregarding the orders of a superior officer repeatedly, they tried to get their way with you!" He threw out his arm to one side, as if to smite something away from him, his open hand becoming a clenched fist, "They were pathetic excuses of vampires! They deserved greater than the quick death I had given them! Much like Mernov, and... I did it all for you..." His volume lowered, as well as his sight, soon to gaze at the dark green grass within the pale moonlight. "I didn't kill blindly, but with one thing in my gaze, and that was your wishes." His eyelids narrowed, for deep within his mind, thoughts began to sputter from the darkness inside... 'Why is she like this? Why did she suddenly change...? It must be spell Mernov put on her, it HAS to be...!'[/color:18b903c864] |

The tall nazi knelt down and gripped the young woman's wrist with, perhaps, more force than was necessary. His face seemed at first to be wholly devoid of emotion; though his skin was normally quite pale, being a vampire, it seemed even more so at that moment. One look at him and someone might have thought he was about to cry. This soon became quite apparently false, however, as a nasty look of utter disgust soon crawled upon his face. He raised his free, gloved hand from his side and placed it upon her cheek and seemed to caress it for a moment, before moving it off to the side. In an instant, the vampire quickly brought the hand back, accross the young woman's cheek. It was not as effective as it might have been, if Erika had been delivering it, perhaps. However, the point behind the slap got through, and left a resounding crack as well as a light pink mark upon the side of the girl's face. "Insolence," Wolfgang said simply, this word snapping from his tongue like a bullet from a pistol. It was cold and harsh, yet somehow contained a measure of warmth. Said compassion seemed to have been suffocated, however, by a feeling of distinct mixture of anger and sadness. Though the tall nazi's other hand still gripped Erika's wrist, the other moved and rested upon her shoulder, falling upon it with a bit more force than was necessary. He stood like this for a moment, looking into her eyes and saying nothing, the thick night air slowly going in and out of his mouth. His words, however, seemed to gather a strange, emotional energy which he had thusfar not displayed. "I would not kill you; I could not harm you, you know that. However, I fear I have killed you already, with my passion. "I always cared for you, perhaps more than you ever did for me -- that's what drove me crazy, the thought that you would never think of me as anything more than a friend. Now, I feel, I have abused the powers which I was granted, using them to abuse you day after day, forcing you into believing that you love me...." The tall vampire's words trailed off, and he moved away from Erika before speaking again after a pause. When he spoke again, it was after hearing what the girl said about hatred, and his words were full of anger and malice. "Hate me?! Hah!" When he spoke, the passion and emotion from just a moment ago was completely gone. He looked down to see the locket which Erika had thrown to the ground, and picked it up in his gloved hand, the one which had previously gripped the girl's wrist. "You cannot come close to the hatred and emnity I feel towards you at this moment, mein engel. I thought that you loved me! I thought I was doing the right thing, simply guiding you. I was apparently wrong, just as you are now. It was YOU who never cared for ME! Despite all that I did for you, it was thrown away in an instant, just because of some silly spell and a few fancy words from that trash." Wolfgang clenched his eyes shut and gripped the locket in his hand until his knuckles and fingers turned even whiter than they already were. With animosity filling and fueling each movement, he raised his heavy boots and squished the medals and adornments which had just decorated Erika's uniform. He opened his hand to reveal the locket as a pulverised mess of silver and tossed it listlessly at the girl before turning his back to her and walking stiffly towards the gates through which he could exit the manor grounds. "Fine, I shouldn't have trusted you either. We are through, madchen; if you want to be in the Reich then you'd better re-enlist somewhere else. Otherwise, maybe the scumbag's friends will help you. I don't care." Elsewhere, it seemed that Erika was the one being questioned. As he asked why she risked her life for the enemy, she looked helplessly at Wolfgang's face, in hopes that perhaps the answer was written upon it somewhere. She felt lost and confused -- helpless, almost -- like a child who has wandered to far from her mother in a large store. She knew somewhere in her heart what she should say, but felt as though saying the words would be admitting to a truth she didn't wish to face. Her thumb ran over the cover of the locket, as though expecting it to provide some sort of comfort or inspiration to aid her and guide her speech. "Why did I jump?" the girl asked tentatively, not even trying to hide how nervous and frightened she felt. "I... I just... I just wanted to know," she continued, the last words tumbling out of her mouth when she finally managed to speak. Before continuing, she raised her hand and held the hand with the locket in it, wringing them together nervously. She took a deep breath and began to speak again, her words seeming to come easier as she spoke. "I wanted to know... why -- why the way he did things felt so different. Yes, it was great when you did it -- and it still is! But as I said earlier, it seems, now that I think of it, forced. When he did it... it was... smooth, and... calming...." Feeling her cheeks start to grow warm, she shook her head quickly. To Wolfgang's next words, she frowned. "Any man could have said them?" she asked challengingly. "Then why didn't you? Why was it that what you did was so different? What was so different that it felt so much more right when he said it? He was the only one who could tell me, who could explain. And... you killed him." She trailed off for a moment, looking down to a particularly interesting blade of grass for a few moments before looking back up. "Mein Herr, you trained me yourself; if I can tell that he wasn't enchanting me with anything but his charm, why can't you?" Erika paused again, listening to Wolfgang's next words. "Love you?" she asked rhetorically. "I... of course I do! I mean, I think I do... you know I always cared for you, but now.... I'm just so confused, and now the one who could offer me an explanation is dead, thanks to your thirst for vengeance!" She listened again as the vampire before her spoke, feeling more and more uneasy. "Were vampires, Wolfgang," said Erika stiffly, before returning to her examination of that fascinating piece of grass. "I wish you would listen better.... I appreciate the gesture, really I do -- it's very sweet and genuine. But surely there are better ways to protect my honor than becoming a mass murderer of all who offend me! Yes, Mein Herr, those soldiers deserved punishment or something, but killing them...." Erika turned away now, so that she didn't have to worry about facing Wolfgang. "If you were so insightful to my wishes, Wolfgang, there would still be many vampires alive right now. One other thing might also still be more alive, too... perhaps more alive than it ever has been...." She paused, moving one hand discreetly to her face momentarily before clasping it back around the other hand. She took a deep breath before she continued, saying simply, "Our love." |

The Nazi's stomach dropped, and her crimson eyes slowly fell to look at the mangled piece of silver laying beside her boot. Shuffling to her knees, she took it in her trembling hands, her entire frame shaking as she watched Wolfgang walk away from her. She touched her cheek with her fingertips, her skin almost burning the leather gloves from where he had struck her.
"N...no..." she breathed. However, it was sadly too late for the girl. Her spirit, mind, and soul were broken. Oblivious to the ocean of tears that her face was submersed in, she fell back onto the tree. Her eyes were wide with horror and disbelief; she had lost everything in a span of moments. While Erika at least now knew about Wolfgang's true intentions, such a point could not bring her back from the edge. When Wolfgang was about to enter the mansion once more, Erika screamed "NEIN" at the top of her lungs. The soldiers inside the mansion jumped at the sound of the windows cracking slightly, and shuddered. Then Erika's voice gave out, and she wept, falling to her knees. "Ich habe... keinen Grund zu leben..." she whispered, falling to the ground, unconcious.[/color:ff30f9a4a3] OOC: " I have no reason to live " |

She was always on his side when it came to things such as quarrels. Of course, there were other men who tried their hand at her when they were together, and Erika would seduce them only to have them become soldiers. That was probably the source of the problem... Wolfgang allowed her to be too loose with her powers, and not so disciplined with them. The only power she was trained in was his hand-me-down of his barrier magic.
Within the deepest darkness of Wolfgang's mind, confusion became the majority. The questioning and logic of Erika was doing him no good on an emotional scale. His body trembled slightly, and a hurting feeling built in his gut. His eyes flickered various shapes of light within their crimson pigment setting a sorrow-filled background. Not knowing to feel enraged, sad, or happy to finally know a better side to his "liebe". Wolfgang's gritted teeth soon became concealed by his mouth, becoming a firm, yet emotionless, complexion as he gave out a shivering breath through his nostrils. Allowing his eyelids to shut firmly over his welled-up occulars, he lowered his head as well. He gave time for the young madchen to speak, only to give a moment of mute to sink into his and her minds, as to what they had said to each other. Breaking the silence with a nearly muted tone, Wolfgang spoke out in a saddened matter of vocalization. "...I-I shall give you the choice Erika..." He took in a gulp, realizing what he's about to say could cause him a destructive blow to his emotions, "I give you the choice, to leave me now... Or stay..." To this, his feet grinded amongst the dirt ground to turn about, his back now to the woman, his head remaining lowered as he awaited the words he so dreaded to hear, but needed to be voiced.[/color:a34e3bcd55] |

He reached into the depths of his mind and scryed these intruders, and to his own fears he discovered they were vampires. After a swift perimeter search of the school, he discover over 50 vampires or ghoulish counterparts making their way toward the doors. All of them seem to have the same logo branded into their foreheads. It was, to say the least, strange.
"Indeed we do, Ms. Thames," he said, rising. "Indeed we do." He closed his eyes and reached out again, this time going back to the manor. Fifty vampires was normally not a problem, but normally he was alone, and since he was not their target, they'd simply swarm right past him. Shadows was proud, but was not above asking for help. He needed backup. He sent out a mental call to the two vampires he wanted to hear his message. "Odakira, listen carefully." said a voice in the bright vampire's mind. "There are over 50 vampires at the school that Ms. Thames currently resides in. Grab Kyphus and fly here as fast as you can. I cannot hold back such a storm alone. Mernov does not need your help, I do." After this, a message went to Mernov, who was lucid enough despite the insanity of his surroundings. He sent one to Mernov as well because of his uncertainty to be able to connect with an unfamilar such as Odakira. "My friend, finish with that little snot, would you? I've got a growing problem on my hands here, and..." There was a pause. "DAMN! More just keep appearing. Helen may be more important than we know! She has some saving grace about her, but I don't know if it can save her now. Bring Jeanne, too, if you deem necessary, there are now around 75 vampires surrounding this school. Quick-like is best. Thanks." Shadows opened his eyes and drew his special calibur gun. "Stay calm, be ready to fight back, and I swear I shall not let them harm you. Help will arrive soon." As he spoke, the vampires were coming slowly but surely down the hallway outside the door... OOC:w0w, i so apoligize for this garbage :P |
