OOC: ah well if you want an interviewer I can give it a shot, but I wont gauruntee anything special... I really have no idea what I'm supposed to be interviewing you about XD

The young woman opened the door upon a surprisingly dark and dimly-lit room. There were no windows, and the only light in the room came from the flame of a candle, flickering happily to and fro. This candle rested within a drab, rusty brass holder which sat atop a similarly unattractive desk. This desk was littered with papers, stacked in no apparent order, with random papers sticking out in a less-than-neat fashion. The desk itself was victim to many ink-stains and burns, as well as flecks of dried wax from candles long-since burnt down to their ends.

Behind this desk sat a strange-looking man, his bald held incircled by what remained of his ever-thinning hair. His eyes were encircled by a pair of thin-framed specticals, placed low upon his long and crooked nose. He did not even look up as he heard the door creak open, choosing instead to continue to sort through the piles of papers with his knobby, boney fingers.

"You must be our new transfer," the man said without even looking up. Motioning with a nod of his head towards a seat opposite him on the other side of the desk he said simply, "Have a seat." Silently he shuffled through a last stack of papers, putting them in a bin to the right of his desk, before deftly reaching right into the middle another pile and pulling out a seemingly random assortment of papers, which he promptly began to thumb through uninterestedly.

"Not bad, not bad." He spoke aloud, seeming to be talking to an unseen third person in the room. "Paranormal investigator you say? Interesting, interesting." Now he spoke directly to Wynne: "How comfortable are you with working with vampires?"

OOC: I thought I'd at least set you up, since you seemed to be waiting for someone to post something. If you want to continue the interview by yourself, be my guest ;)

OOC:Thanks, that's probably enough to go on.

"Working with vampires," Wynne asked. "Well, I can't say I've really dealt with them much in the past, my line of work leads to slightly different eneimes most of the time. But I've encountered things much worse than the undead in one way or another, so I suppose dealing with something that's relatively human won't be all that harrowing." She paused to think, "If you meant as co-workers, I shouldn't have a problem with them. Vampires were human; they still act human. Mostly, at least."

"Good, good," the man replied, "Is this information on your weapons here correct? Dark sorcery...very unusual."

"Yes, sir. One of my former colleagues modified a small number of weapons for some of the Foundation's operatives. He's retired now, and quite insane."

"Insane? Pity, that. Will these weapons of yours work on the undead."

"Yes, yes it is. I'd need to test them to be certain, but my guns should be harmful to a vampire. The enchantment's pretty all-purpose, so to speak. If not, I can always just pack different ammunition. I can modify it to work with the guns myself; it's just a simple scrawl of a few symbols."

"I suppose that's all I'll need to know from you, your Wilmarth Foundation was very thorough in the records they sent over. Welcome to Hellsing."

"Thank you sir," Wynne said as she stood up to leave. Once she was outside the room, she leaned against the wall. What am I going to do now, she thought.

Shadows continued along the dull chambers of the Hellsing basement. When he finally reached the stairs up, he sighed, wishing for a slightly smaller labyranth. After all, such long ones do get dull fast. Passing the window, he saw that indeed night had fallen. He had a mission to carry out, but he did not know what yet. He was going to find out.

Mernov had left, but Jeanne was afraid of being alone in her current state. Weakly, she endeavored to stand up and run after him, which she did. However, she made it all but a few feet behind him before she felt her knees give out, and she fell. The dust around her settled, revealing her weak frame on its hands and knees.

"P...please don't.. leave me alone..." she said, albiet in a whisper.

Shadows reached the door of his master, Sir Integra Hellsing. He knocked fo a moment, then phased through the door. Integra set down her cigar and sighed.

"You COULD just turn the handle." she muttered. Shadows grinned.

"But what would be the fun in that?" he asked. Integra stood and drew a folder from her desk drawer.

"This is your mission." she said. "There's some vampire action in the region of Badrick, and were sending you in first. This is quite an unusual attack, however, so we will send backup. If I could just reach that bastard Mernov...." Shadows held up his hand as he set down the folder.

"I'll be back before Mernov even leaves." he said, turning and walking away.

As though her words summoned him by magic, Mernov reappeared in the doorway, seeming to fade into existance through the fog. Though he was gone for but a few short moments, he carried a strange bundle of cloths in his arm. He grinned at Jeanne comfortingly, yet with a hidden sense of menace and excitement. He leaned forward and put his hand under Jeanne's chin, tilting it up slightly, gently.

"Rise, my child," he said in a deep voice that seemed not his own, filled with danger and mystery. He looked into Jeanne's eyes in such a manner as to seem to be looking through them, into the depths of her soul. A warm feeling came over the woman, as she felt herself lifted by some unseen force, all-the-while gaining strength and warmth back into her limbs. While it appeared that Mernov could have been lifting her up with his finger under her chin, the force required for that surely would have caused his finger to slice through her throat, and such a thing obviously was not happening. Nor either did it appear that she was standing up herself -- her legs slid limply forward under her, as though she were a marionette being drawn up by a master puppeteer. At last she stood upon her own two feet again, strength having miraculously returned to her.

"There you are, my child," he said with an eerie warmth. He then handed her the bundle of cloth, on top of which he placed a small packet of a familiar red liquid. "Put on those clothes, it could be cold where we must go; then drink that, it will make you stronger." He smiled at her -- dare he say, his creation? He placed his left hand upon her head, slidingly it gently down the side of her face to her cheek, then so that the tips of his fingers ran along her jaw and his little finger under her chin. He pulled her forward and planted a kiss upon her lips, as if to seal some sort of contract. He then turned and walked towards the door.

"I shall meet you outside," he said.

Jeanne took the clothes Mernov gave her clutching them gently against her breast as she watched him walk out. She unfolded it, taking in its full beauty as she gazed upon it. It was a crimson dress made of satin, cut in a shapely manner that met at the chest, and black ruffles adorned the top and bottom of it. It ruffled lightly in the slight breeze that blew through the tavern. She slipped it on and smiled at how wonderfully it felt. Picking up the coat she had given him, she trotted out of the tavern and walked up behind him. "I'm ready, M... ah... Master" she called, meekly. Though she knew his name, she somehow felt compelled to call him her master.

Mernov grinned with a mix of excitement and villianous pleasure. He had never before been referred to in such a way -- he had used this form of address to others, but nothing more -- and it was quite... invigorating. He placed his hand upon her shoulder, pleased with her appearance. His hand slid up to her neck quickly, pulling it forward so that his lips could meet hers once more in a quick embrace.

"Excellent," he said simply, pulling back and squeezing her shoulder lightly. From beneath his own large jacket, he pulled a Desert Eagle pistol, spinning it about in his hand before catching it with the handle facing towards Jeanne, the barrel in his hand. "Don't forget your weapon," he said, still grinning. "You will need it for a quick training lesson. However, should you f ind yourself in serious trouble, I will be by shortly -- I will never let anything happen to you, my dear."

Jeanne, her face warm from the kiss, smiled and took the weapon. Prepared for a heavy gun, she almost threw it up in the air when she took it from his hands. The girl was amazed at how light it really was. She held it in both hands to make sure she wasn't imagining anything. A breeze swept through the dark street and through Jeanne's coat, causing her to shiver and hug her chest. "Where is it that we are going, Master?" the vampire(ss? XD) said, looking up at Mernov softly.

"First," Mernov said in his deep, booming voice, "We shall report to the targetting range where I will teach you quickly how to fire that weapon you hold. "Unless I am mistaken, you have not fired a weapon in your previously life more than perhaps a few times. That shall make it quite a bit easire to teach you, as you will not have any bad, human habits to unlearn. Now, close your eyes, and stay close. This may feel slightly... different. As he spoke, Mernov leaned close to Jeanne, placing his left arm upon her shoulder. He then used this arm to draw her closer to himself, pulling his flowing robe-like jacket about her body. As he did so, the portions of their bodies covered by the jacket seemed to fade out of existance, dissappearing.

When they reappeared, they were in the middle of a large field, which seemed to extend forever in one direction. To the sides, however, it was perhaps half the width of a football field, a wall with a small, inconspicuous (sp? ^^;) door on either side. Only a few meters behind them was another wall. Mernov pointed down the field in the direction which seemed to have no end.

"Five-hundred meters that way, is a target," he informed the new vampire. "Destroy it."

Jeanne, baffled and bewildered by his request, began walking towards the area he pointed. "Why is it so far away? I can't even see it.." she said, as she began walking in the direction he pointed.

Mernov took a large step forward, hooking his arm around Jeanne's waist from behind, pulling her back. He raised her arm upwards with his, and put his arm on her shoulder, pointing straight ahead.

"Do not use your eyes," he said myseriously. "Look without looking. Dont focus on what you can't see, instead focus on the existance in the distance. This will become easier with time, but for now do this." He paused for a moment to let the cryptic explanation sink in. "The target is five-hundred meters away," he repeated at last. "Destroy it."

Another shot rang out. The ghoul shuddered and collapsed to the floor. There was a giant hole in it, and disentigrated into nothing in a matter of seconds as the ones behind it fell to the weapon in the hands of Shadows. He fired only a few shots, but the bullets were going through them in the tightly packed hallway. He almost wanted to yawn, it was so boring. There were many of them, however, and they were in his way. He found, however, that he no longer needed to worry about that as a man emerged from the mass of his minions. He smiled, revealing fangs.

"You would dare invade my house at night?" he asked, drawing his own gun and firing it into Shadows. The small hole in his shoulder sealed almost instantly.

"Guns could never harm a vampire!" Shadows hissed as he put away his own. "I think I'll teach you what it means to be a midian!" The vampire motioned his ghouls back and put away the gun. He launched himself at Shadows. He passed right on by as Shadows moved out the way. The vampire turned and struck out again. Shadows merely grabbed the fist being flung at him and smashed his hand into the elbow, removing the lower half of the vampire's arm. The rogue midian screamed in pain. Shadows smiled.

"That's it?" he asked mockingly, tossing the arm away. "You form an entire army of ghouls for the heck of it, you appearantly can't turn into mist or bats, recover from the wounds you take...you can barely even fight without your gun!" Shadows drew the desert eagle again. He aimed at the one armed vampire's heart.

"Pathetic." he said, and fired. The vampire was dead now, but there was one little problem. The ghouls remained. Shadows raised an eyebrow. A shadow detached from the wall and landed in front of them.

"The only problem with your logic..." it said. "Was that he didn't make that army. I did, so now you can deal with me." Shadows sighed. This was going to be one boring night.

OOC:and....it's dying, so here goes another post.

Shadows found that, contrast to his last belief, this fight was almost exciting. The other vampire was moving fast enough so that it would be pointless to fire at him. However, his attacks still seemed weak. The blows came at random striking at Shadows from behind, at his head, but he merely stepped aside and they missed. Then another surprise for Hellsing's "missionary," the ghouls began to launch themselves at him while the vampire attacked. He now drew his gun and began to unload it's contents into the living dead.

"So, what were you two? Vampire twins?" he asked, dusting more ghouls. "Is that why he could control them, if they were yours?" With a sudden movement, the rogue midian had appeared in front of Shadows and slugged him in the face, yelling at him.

"Hah! Much worse than you imagine!" His fist plowed through a body of mist . the whitish drey mist spread across the floor, confusing the midian. A voice came from nowhere, and yet, nearly everywhere.

"Disassemble yourself and we'll see about that! Fight like a vampire!"

Still stupidified, Jeanne merely glanced at her Master, wondering if he was quite sane. Without further audible questioning, Jeanne obeyed and raised the gun up. She closed her eyes, trying to find the target with her mind. Eventually, she thought she felt something and, in a quick reflex, fired the gun. Unsure of weather or not she hit, she sulked back, holding her left hand to her mouth in submission. "I.. think I missed.."
