OOC: sorry for the delays, I'm posting as three people here ><

Mernov allowed himself a smile as he heard his young pupil's words. Though she was clearly at her limits for the night, she continued to push herself for him. It really was a good feeling to know that she was working so hard to make him, Mernov assumed, proud. It was truely a strange feeling indeed -- especially for a vampire. At any rate, it was a pleasurable feeling, and it seemed to validate Mernov's existance in a way that nothing he'd ever done had before had. On top of this, Jeanne had great potential! She had opened her third eye in but a few tries, and was able to adapt to changing situations with ease -- without even being warned about it before hand!

"Excellent," the tall vampire said almost happily as he looked with an expression nearly equal to joy upon his face at his young student. "I think we shall visit the armory and see if we can find what weapon would be best suited for you." He held out his arm again for the young woman, then disappeared once again, reappearing shortly in the armory, a large room filled with weapon racks.

Carl, the night watch officer lifted the safety on his special-issue M4A1 rifle as he spun in his cloth-padded swivel-chair to face the doorway, and the approaching creature. Four other soldiers gathered several yards behind the door and trained their own weapons at it. Around a corner, a handful of other soldiers stood at the ready. Carl took one last draw from his cigarette before stubbing it out in the ash tray behind him. He just might need both hands to deal with this intruder if things got ugly. The grip of the gun was cold and rigid, but it felt good in his callused hands. He always enjoyed handling a good weapon; many joked that the shooting range was more of a home to him than the barracks. He didn't care though; if they did it around him he could always threaten to fire them and turn their bodies into his own shooting range. That usually served the dual purpose of shutting the assholes up and bringing a smile to his own face. Though he was irritable and not always particularly personable, his men respected him. He knew how to handle combat situations, and above all his aim was uncontested by any human they knew. Only the resident vampires could outshoot him, a reputation which had almost given him somewhat of a status of "legend."

Carl could almost sense the quivering of everyone's trigger-fingers, including his own. They had not seen much action in some time, and all of them were eager to throw some lead around. He looked at each of them, waiting until they looked back to acknowledge their readyness. Suddenly, a knock at the door -- an unexpected twist. The veteran officer couldn't remember many situations where a hostile had knocked at their doors, but this one didn't appear to be anything but hostile. It almost looked like a werewolf, except with much less fur and much more... metal. At any rate, it had to be dealt with, one way or another. Carl raised his rifle to his shoulder and placed his finger along the trigger guard while his left hand steadied the rifle and got it into position. Everyone was ready, it was just about go-time.

"Alright you lot, wait for me to fire before you do," Carl said in a gruff, crusty voice. He spoke in a manner quite akin to a marines drill sergeant. "If you let loose a singal shell without my go-ahead I will have your sorry ass for supper, you understand me?" The soldiers responded quickly and crisply with a "Yes sir!" Carl allowed himself a small grin -- it never ceised to amuse him, hearing them respond like that -- and moved his left hand to a small plastic box on his desk. He lifted this like a lid and his fingers found their way to a key, which he turned once before quickly moving his hand back to his weapon.

"Identify yourself or taste explosives, creature!" the officer shouted. Not straight from the books, no, but Carl was never big on doing things by the letter. He found his way to be a bit more effective more often than not.

"No room?" Walter asked, almost as though the words themselves were of a foreign language and altogether unintelligible. "Oh nonsense! You are an honored guest, you shall have a room! I daresay the order, not to mention Mistress Hellsing herself, would be quite upset to find that you weren't properly bedded. Come now, your room is just here, across the hall." Walter stepped towards the door and opened it, smiling at Odakira. His eyes showed a strange understanding within them. It was as though he knew Odakira's confusion with people misunderstanding his and the woman's relationship. While his understanding was not quite that deep, Walter had sensed the trouble in this vampire when he had referred to her as his friend, and now almost regretted it. There was nothing that could be done now, however; what was done was done. Walter only hoped that not placing Odakira in a room adjacent to Helen's would incite the vampire's forgiveness.

"In case you wish to check up on her, she is just across the hall," Walter said warmly. "I shall now fetch a medical kit to attend to those feet, if you will excuse me."

OOC: All the stuff about Carl is made up ;) If anyone needs to use Carl for some reason at any later point go ahead, he is NPC status (non player character). Same with Walter actually... not sure why I'm posting for him O_o;

OOC:oh, I thought you would rather roleplay Walter ^^; Oh well. No biggy. I'll see what I can do

As Walter disagreed with his words, and proceeded to open the door to Helen's room, all he could do was nod to him. There was no point for a fuss. He walked into the room and laid the woman on the bed slowly and softly in hopes of not disturbing her slumber. Giving a nodding agreement to Walter as he excused himself.

She was seeming to enjoy her sleep very well, like a child. After so, he gave the dog she carried a slight pat on the head. To this the dog's head arose to look and study the new room in which it was in, it then moved out of her grasp unnoticingly and laid itself at the feet of the long bed, slipping back into slumber once again just below her feet.

Poor creature... It indeed was tired, but he did not wish for it to be there. He lifted his hand and used a small portion of his powers to lift the dog and move him through the room and into a chair across from the bed. The dog did not awaken, which was a good thing at the moment.

Now knowing that the lady was safe and sound, he gave a warm smile to her sleeping figure. He then turned to face the door, and walked out of the door into the hall. He looked down both sides of the hallway to notice that Walter had indeed vanished. He let out a sigh and a shrug of the shoulders, reached out a hand to the knob of the door to his room.

As the door open, he beheld in his sights a somewhat large room. In one corner sat a coffin chamber, one of the few that all vampires were given in the organization. It was the first thing his eyes had laid sight on, more likely the first thing he looked for. In the midst of the room was a ornate table and chairs around it. It was a nice design and feel for the room, but he wouldn't have any guests really. Of course, lastly, the windows were covered with boards and planks of wood to block out the sun during the morning. He wouldn't have to worry about incinerating or anything.

"Sir..." A rich voice had spoke from behind, of course being Walter's. Odakira turned about to see that Walter had a medical kit in his hands. "Here is a medical kit, so you may tend to the fair lady's wounds, I would do so myself, but I must attend to business regarding your arrival with Mrs. Hellsing." His voice was strong almost in itself, it cut through right to business. Walter was a very respectable person in the vampire's eyes.

Walter handed Odakira the medical kit, and Odakira silently nodded to him once again. Walter gave a deep bow, the turned and walked down the hall from where they all traversed to begin with. Odakira shut the door behind him that led to his room, quietly. He then walked over into the woman's room again, coming over to the foot of her bed opening the medical kit box in his hands.

He looked to the bottoms of her feet, seeing that they were riddled with small pieces of rock, and splinters of various sorts. He closed his eyes and held out an open hand to the bottoms of the feet. A blue hue emitted from his arm and hand, then around the images of the splinters within her feet. They all then slid out of the holes they had created when she ran on top of them. Blood soon started to trickle once again from the small punctures, so the vampire reached his hand down into the medical kit and grabbed some cloth, with the other hand some antiseptic peroxide. He to a piece of the cloth and wiped away the blood and dirt from her feet, cleaning the wounds. He then opened the bottle of peroxide and soaked two larger sections of cloth in it. After closing the bottle of the peroxide, he took one of the straps of cloth and began to wrap it and bandage one foot. He worked slowly and silently as he tried to not awake the woman. After finishing the bandaging, he did the same on the other foot, soon having it finished and dressed.

He stood straight and took the kit, or rather what was left of it, and closed the box. He turned around and set it down amongst the guest table's wooden surface within the room. He turned back to study the sleeping woman's figure, she indeed had a long night. He walked over to the side of the bed, bringing one of the blankets up and over to cover her figure. He leaned over her and tucked the blanket under her body on the opposite side of which he had pulled up the blanket. He made sure that she was in the best of hospitality that the bed and room offered.

When he finished, he quickly and abruptly turned and walked out the door. He turned back to gaze at the figure of the woman once again. His eyes seemed troubled, a wrinkle had formed between his brows and the gold in his optics faded somewhat. He then lowered his head to look at the floor, reaching out a hand to grasp of the door knob, and shutting the door to her room.

He then traversed over into his room again, shutting the door behind him, he pulled a chair up from the guest table, and sat himself amongst it's surface. Picking up his long coat's end so he may not be sitting on it's length. He slid his arms out of the coat's sleeve, revealing a pitch black shirt he wore that seemed to be somewhat of a second skin. It exposed the build of his muscles. His arms and chest were built, seeing as it would be centuries till he could pass away, it wouldn't bother to at least stay in shape. The shirt was tucked into what were black dress pants. Belted around the waist with a black leather strap as well, tucked into knee high boots that were plated in what seemed to be onyx slabs.

He remained silent in his chair as he began to think to himself. Many things had troubled him, the woman, the other two vampire's trust, and the business he had here to attend to. He did not want to leave the room abruptly and try to find Integra on his own, so he remained in his room, sitting and gazing at the coffin, seeming to be in a trance once again. Too many things...

Listening through the door, Kyphus knew his meeting with Carl would not be a pleasant one. To make sure he did not scare anyone into an early grave, he had insisted on knocking so they would come to him before he made himself an ominous figure in the doorway. But now someone was calling him out, most likely Carl, himself.

"Hello, My name is Kyphus and I need somewhere to rest," Kyphus began.

"Then take it up with Walter! I don't have time for this!" Carl shouted back.

"No, no, I need someplace to rest outside. Like, on a tower, a rooftop, or a terrace from which I can precariously hang myself by my ankles."

No voice responded but Kyphus imagined he heard light laughter and was sure that he felt confusion. Well, he thought to himself, might as well make myself clear. Kyphus reached for the door handle and started to turn. It was locked, at least, it was until Kyphus broke it off. Then, he gripped the door and started to push it inward.

Kyphus' inquery was answered by a hail of bullets. Of course, Kyphus' black and gold mettalic hide protected him from every bullet, it was slightly annoying to be shot at first glance. He guessed he became an ominous figure in the doorway.

Striding forward despite the rain of bullets and the deafening noise, amplified to a horrible degree by his normal hearing. Slowed by the reeling pressure of the bullets, Kyphus started moving at a crawl rather than his usual pace. Bullets were starting to dent his skin, so he decided to end this misunderstanding. Kyphus flicked his wrists, causing the the blades to erupt from his arms. Walking up to the first rifleman, Kyphus made a swinging move with his arm and walked towards the next one. Needless to say, by the time Kyphus made it to Carl, every gun in the room had been bisected.

Carl stared at his regiment, weaponless and stunned.

"Hmm...Maybe you could stay somewhere on the roof?" Carl said, more to his half-gun than to Kyphus himself.

"Thank you," Kyphus grinned (if he had eyes, now would be a great time to roll them). "I'll just climb my way up"

OOC: I wish *I* could write a book :(

Jeanne opened her eyes; she and Mernov were inside a large room filled to the tops of the walls with armor and weaponry. She saw flails, maces, swords of all kinds, bombs, and guns. You name it, Jeanne was probably able to see it here. The young vampire rubbed her eyes and looked about the room. With one hand clenching onto Mernov's coat, she looked up at him. It probably seemed childish of Jeanne to be clinging onto him so, but everything had been happening so quickly. She was frightened, almost, from the encounter with the being known as Kyphus; scared that the vampire Odakira may have been foe, not friend.. and of course being turned as well.

Needless to say it was much too much for one girl to handle alone. So, Jeanne took it upon herself to make sure she was never seperated from Mernov; he'd cared for her from the point he had turned her, and yet, Jeanne felt some odd attatchment to him. Even if he was the reason she had been put through all this, she held no grudge against him for it. Hell, she was almost thankful!

Jeanne, lost in her thoughts was brought back to reality when she thought she heard Mernov speak. "M-master...? Why have we come here? Well, that is to say, I know that this is an armory but..." Jeanne spoke so quietly it was barely audible. "Never..mind" she finished, realizing she had a wonderful ability to be speachless around Mernov, as well.

OOC:i would like to apoligize for my nonexistance, i missed a whole lot of posts...about 5 pages worth...

The fog gathered back together into Shadows form as the vampire and all his minions reverted to dust. He sighed. It had been a fairly boring evening.

***

As he lept over the great gates of Hellsing, a strange sight met his eyes. It looked like a machine...or was it a human? From where he stood, it looked as though it was threatening the guards, so he came up behind it gun drawn. At less than a foot away, he stopped and called out to the guard. He had leveled his weapon at the back of the thing's head.

"Evening, Carl!" he said. "How's it going? And who's this guy?"

Something had tweaked in his mind. Something wasn't right. He snapped up and out of his chair, grabbing his coat and throwing it over himself, pushing his arms through the sleeves once again. The first thing he did was lock the door that the woman was in for her safety. He then turned and looked down the hall.

"I sense someone, who shouldn't be here..." He whispered to himself, as his golden optics became concealed by his eyelids.

In his mind he tried to find the presence of Mernov, which he did with ease due to his power. His body emitted light wind which sprang up into a gust, his cloak fluttering about him crazily, then a bright white flash appeared, and as it faded, his presence was gone.

In the armory, he appeared in a white flash, followed by some of the wind afterwards. As his long coat settled down, he walked over to Mernov in somewhat of a quickened pace.

"Mernov! I believe we have unwanted company..." He spoke in a slightly shakened tone, the adrenaline in his body began to pump through his bloodstream. There was soon going to be a battle, he could feel it in the midst of his mind.

"What's this," Kyphus groaned. He turned around only to have a gun shoved in his face. "And who the hell are you?" Kyphus exclaimed

This new individual, judging by his stance, did not seem friendly in the slightest. Kyphus flexed muscles of metal as he studied this creature. It seemed human and weak by that regard; the only thing lending this creature any semblance of strength or presence was his gun.

"I don't have time for this, Carl and I just settled a deal for lodgings and I intend to make use of whatever I am given," Kyphus hissed threateningly. "Now, get out of my way or I'll gut you where you stand"

Helen’s eyes snapped open as she catapulted into a sitting position when she heard the gunshots. Her body trembled and her breathing was labored.

“Where am I?” she murmured shakily as she looked around the room for a moment, and leapt out of bed. Her feet stung a little when they made contact with the stone floor. She looked down and saw that her feet had been wrapped in bandages, and the memories of last night flashed across her mind. She rushed to the window, and pulled back the curtains slightly.

It was still very dark, but she was able to make out the scene below her. Someone was threatening Kyphus with a gun; she could not make out any of the strangers features. She tried to open the window, but it was locked and the key was nowhere to be found. She ran to the door, and gave out a frustrated groan and pounded on the door angrily.

Locked, she thought. I’m locked in…

Helen returned to the window, and she bit her lip as she tried to think of someway to help him. Kyphus was… strange and fairly frightening, but he appeared to be kind enough. He had healed her hand and spared from her the needle. Now, she could return the favor.

There was a small desk in the corner with a chair. Helen picked up the chair, took a deep breath and prayed that the owner of the building wouldn’t be to upset, before she smashed the window with the chair. She couldn’t get down from the room she was locked in, but she could attract Kyphus’ attacker’s attention.

“Stop!” she demanded. Her voice cut through the air coldly as the broken glass fell to the ground. “Stop it at once!”

Before Mernov of Jeanne could answer to his yell, he turned quickly as he heard from the limits of his ears the breaking glass. His teeth gritted within his jaws and he closed his eyes. He sensed the woman, more like he saw the woman within the window in his mind, then Kyphus. They were in trouble. His eyes snapped open to a dark figure that held a weapon at Kyphus.

"Kyphus is in trouble! We must hurry!" He shouted, with now hesitation whatsoever, his figure then vanished in a array of lightish blue flashes before Mernov and Jeanne's eyes.

He reappeared in front of the woman, floating in the midst of the air. The wings of his raven form were implemented into his back, but they were ethereal, not even there. Somewhat transparent, they emitted a dark blue mist that faded into the night air below him, his wings themselves a light blue. His figure bobbing slowly in the air, giving off a flap of his wings to keep himself clearly between the woman and the visitor. His arms were crossed about his wide chest, and his golden optics stared down at the man in disgust.

"You might want to drop that gun..." His voice demanded, seeming quiet, yet when it reverberated off the fence and hut, it grew in volume and power, seeming to strike fear directly into what was left of the vampire's spirit. He continued, his voice unscathed as the wind picked up, his cloak fluttering slightly around him, "...And leave!"

Shadows turned an eye of contempt toward this strangely dressed vampire as he lowered his gun.

"Leave?" he asked incredulously. "I LIVE here. Who are you to tell me what to do in a place that you do not belong in?" At this time, the cry of stop reached Shadows ears and put his gun away. He then turned back to Kyphus.

"My apoligy for the confusion. I only saw you destroy the guns of the guard, and I feared for their safety. Forgive me." At this point he turned back to the one cloaked in white.

"Now, just who the hell are you," he hissed angrily, "and why are you ordering me to leave my home, you overcolored peacock?"

OOC:yeah. that's it.

Mernov sighed; more confusion. He knew exactly the source, too -- his friend and co-worker's presence was obvious. What is Shadows stirring up, now? Mernov wondered with annoyance. He sensed Kyphus and Odakira in the same location -- the whole gang, it seemed. Jeanne had had enough excitement for the night, he thought. It was best that he deal with this swiftly and alone. The tall vampire smacked himself in the face and massaged his eyes for a moment before he turned to his apprentice with a dissappointed look in his eyes.

"I must attend to something," the vampire said, his voice resonating off the tall ceiling and all of the walls. "You may look about and pick things up to examine as you wish, but do not fire a round until I return." In a slight departure from his norm, but keeping well with his current, aggitated mood, Mernov stomped off, his boots clacking loudly on the marble floor, before quickly being consumed by black flames. He reappeared in the midst of the heated argument, however, with less ceremony.

"Odakira, stand down," Mernov said commandingly. "He works here and could almost be called my friend. You know as well as I that he has every right to question Kyphus' presence without being warned beforehand." He paused, allowing himself to calm down. He turned to his friend. "Shadows, you really know how to spice things up when there's already too much flavoring, don't you?"

Shadows grinned slightly at Mernov's comment.

"Heh. Guess you're right." he said. He shot one more cold look Odakira's way. "Now, I don't know who you are or why you are here, but for the duration of your stay, kindly keep out of my path, my gaudy brethren." And with that, he bowed, dissolved into mist, and disappeared.

Jeanne, who had no real desire to pick out a weapon at the current time, shuffled lazily over to the door and opened it, peering out the crak before exiting the armory. She took a few steps and descended the stairs, her chrimson dress falling down each angle gracefully. The young vampire gazed over to where the hut seemed to be and saw Odakira, her master, Mernov, Kyphus, a guard of some sort, and what looked like another person (who quickly vanished). Tired, Jeanne sat down on the porch step and put her chin on her palms. "This has been far too much for one day..." she sighed.

As Mernov's figure appeared, and commanded at him, his light blue wings shattered instantaneously to his words. The blue shards faded into the air, as he fell down, his onyx plated boots came down with a tremendous thud upon the ground.

As he rose straight from his landing point, he stood tall once again, bringing his head down to meet one shoulder, emitting a shivering variety of snaps in his neck, then looking up at Mernov once again.

"As you wish..." He said, his voice filled with the upmost respect. Though within the back of his mind, he seemed somewhat insulted by the tone of Mernov's vocals. His golden optics softened once again and gleamed over to Shadow's presence. He didn't know if this would be the right time to apologize or not, so he stood silent for a moment.

As the two vampires began to talk, he turned and looked up to the woman in the window, he motioned with his hand for her to back away. For there was nothing to worry about it seemed. He then looked down at the shattered glass below from the window she broke, then back up at her, shaking his head slightly as a small smile spread acrossed his face.

He turned quickly to look at Shadow from his insult, his eyes locked in what seemed a combat through mentality with him before he vanished. He then shook his head once more, turned about again, and walked over to the shattered glass. He kneeled down and began to pick up the shards of it, seeming troubled in his mind, but not wanting to talk at the moment.

As he finished picking the pieces up, a blue mist appeared around the jagged shards. They soon formed and fitted together and resealed about to it's original panel. It then flew up to the window frame that the lady broke and sealed itself back into it's sill.

He looked to the ground, silent, and motionless. Bothered somewhat by Shadows presence having been here. He looked over to see Jeanne sitting on the step by herself, staring amongst him and the others. He turned away before she looked, gazing up to see the woman looking down through the window, and then finally back at Mernov once again. He closed his eyes slowly, and within a flash of blue light, he vanished once more, only to reappear sitting in his room again. His legs and arms crossed and his head lowered, staring at the marble floor with trouble flooding his eyes and mind.

He reached out a hand and twisted it slightly at the direction of the door, locking the door with his prowess. Only to remain in darkness and silence...

Shadows mist reformed infront of Mernov a few seconds later.

"I just remembered," he said, "Are there any other unexepected guests here tonight? I'd like to know before I draw my gun at another one." He looked in the distance to where Odakira stood, fixing the window.

"I heard a shout from over there, asking me to stop." he said quietly. Seeing Odakira again irked him. In his over 300 years of experience, never had he seen a vampire dress in such bright colors. It made for an easy target.
