He thought to himself of what Kyphus spoke. True. At daylight, Kyphus could probably escort her safely home, for vampires have a small problem with the sun not worth mentioning.

He also thought that the whole group might of been asking too much of Mernov at the moment, so he decided he would not ask another question for a while...

OOC:Ok, so I made a boo boo, so shoot me… you make ”˜em too.

Helen opened her mouth to retort, but could not think of anything to say, so she closed it again and settled for rolling her eyes.

She looked at Kyphus again and smiled weakly. The thought of having to be looked after 24/7 by anyone did not appeal to her in the slightest. I’m 28, I don’t need a nanny! She looked down at the blood that had been dripped onto the ground. Was it true that the Vampires were able to hunt her down like that? I should have just stayed home tonight…

Helen yawned, and shook her head. She was so tired, but she couldn’t fall asleep, not yet. She stroked the sleeping dog in her lap for a moment, and then she yawned again.

He looked down to the lady, noticing her presence becoming tired, her body shifted and relied onto the strength of his arms. She needed someplace to rest. He smiled warmly as she yawned, in a sense it kind of appealed to him. He tried to remember what humans used to do with their children when they were sleepy. Didn't they sway them or something?

So, he slowly began to sway, not too far to either side, but slightly just enough. He was only trying to be nice on a human scale. He thought it would be respectful to do so. His smile faded as he glanced back up to Mernov's turned figure, he spoke out to him.

"Our guest is getting a little sleepy Mernov..." Quietly, just loud enough to reach Mernov's ears. Trying not be of a nagging presence amongst the group, but letting him know that time was no of the essence. The moon will fall and the sun shall rise soon, they needed to hurry.

Helen yawned again, and she realized that Odakira was rocking her. “What…” Helen yawned again. “What are you doing?” Her eyes grew heavier as she was rocked in Odakira’s arms. “Stop it... *yawn* I’m not… *yawn* sleepy…” She fought off a yawn, but another slipped past. She nodded and mumbled in protest for a few moments as she struggled to stay awake, and finally, her eyes closed and her head came to rest on Odakira’s shoulder.

She held on to her dog tightly with her left hand, and her face became free of any sign of worry that had plagued her that night. Helen resembled an overgrown child sleeping with a stuffed animal in the Vampire’s arms. A night breeze blew by and tugged at her hair causing it to tickle her nose. Helen wrinkled her nose slightly, and mumbled, “Muffin,” before she buried her face into his robes.

His eyes widened at the strange feeling against him. His eyes shifted downward, soonf followed by his head slowly turning to look down at the now sleeping lady. He felt awkward. Humans are strange. He did not quite expect this to happen, but he gave a shrug, his swaying unstopped.

As he noticed the wind had bothered her somewhat, he turned himself just enough so that the breeze would not bother the woman.

It was weird indeed in his mind. He smiled, fighting off the urge to laugh as she mumbled in her sleep, replacing it with a warm grin as he studied the sleeping woman's figure.

"Indeed, Kyphus, while you are blind you quite plainly are not deaf," Mernov said with a hint of agitation. He turned slowly around to face the strange creature who presently addressed him. "As I told you, the decision to have a person such as yourself -- if you will forgive me for refering to you thus -- is not mine to make." The tall vampire let out a stiff sigh and tilted his head slightly to assess the woman and her pet. Indeed, she was quite obviously tired -- and rightfully so! In just one night she'd been both attacked and saved by vampires, not a common instance, to be certain. The pet might prove an issue, but it seemed quite obvious that the present situation would not allow its removal -- she seemed to have almost a death-grip upon it, as a child to a security object; firm but comforting and pleasant. Mernov supposed there really wasn't anything that could be done other than to allow it; he was quite certain that Walter would not object. As a fellow human, he would probably understand the lady's attachment to the small canine in ways that Mernov could not.

"I suppose the dog will stay with her," Mernov said decisively at length. "I don't believe I'm really in any position to argue; Walter, I'm sure, would not either." A pause. He turned and glanced at Jeanne for a moment, then took a step up the stairs. "Come, it grows late." After another step he called back to Kyphus. "The captain of the watch can be found in a hut east of here, along the wall. Knock thrice and make your request, but do not get your hopes up." Another pause and another stair. "Good luck."

Jeanne felt a cold shiver run up her spine when Mernov, her master, glanced at her. She felt as if his eyes were like sharp, rusty daggers, piercing into the depths of her soul. She nodded, though he could not see, and shuffled quickly up the steps after him. The young vampire nearly tripped over her long skirts, bumping into Mernov's back slightly. After apologizing profusely, yet quietly, she gripped the back of his coat and walked along with him. She turned her head back to the others and said 'Good night'. Jeanne then turned to the woman and looked up at Odakira. "Take care of her." she said, bluntly. Jeanne didn't want to see another girl (who reminded Jeanne remarkably of herself) get hurt.

With that, Jeanne turned and returned to her master's side. "M-master.. where am I to sleep? I'm sure that the lord of this castle is not aware of my presence and... they would probably not be keen on it either..."

A sigh of accomplishment escaped his domain, what seemed to be a wait of eternity had finally came to an end. He looked down at the sleeping woman again as he started up the stairs, quietly walking so she may not be awakened, as he passed Mernov, he nodded his head slightly to him in thanks.

He knew the dog was not going to be a problem, it seemed to be well trained by it's owner. Now that he thought of it, he didn't even know the woman's name. She was asleep, and probably would not come about till morning. It would be too late. It would not matter anyways. What human would want to be around a vampire? It wasn't worth waking her for... There would be time for that later.

As he reached the doors of the mansion, he stood aside, giving room to whoever would come up to enter, his hands obviously full. If he could, he would of held the door open, but he couldn't, it made him slightly frustrated inside his mind. "This wasn't a good way to make a good first impression, I hope Mernov and whoever else could understand this situation..." he thought to himself in distraught, a light wrinkle forming between his eyebrows for a moment to only vanish before anyone would notice. Looking up only to catch glance of Jeanne looking at him. His eyes narrowed in curiousity of what she would say.

Her words confused him. Take care of her? Was that even possible? She was only going to stay until this threat was over, but not long enough for... "Was she inciting that I have a relationship with this young woman?" He thought to himself. Jeanne's eyes seemed to have displayed that she knew of what she spoke. All he could do was nod his head slightly, his face seeming slightly troubled to her remark. Did she actually mean that...?

Mernov nodded at Odakira who stood patiently by the door, understanding his feelings quite clearly. Mernov's motion seemed to speak for him, saying "I understand, it is of no consequence and you needn't be troubled." Seemingly without thinking, Mernov lifted his free right hand and spread it , palm up and out towards the large doors. There was a click of the handle turning and they swung slowly open, as though by some invisible servant. Ironically, there was an elderly-looking man in a butler's uniform with a monicled eye bowing slightly towards the door, standing in the middle of the antechamber. As Mernov ascended the final step he spoke softly to Jeanne so that only she could hear, though he didn't even move his head. The voice was hardly audible and yet resonated clearly and cripsly within Jeanne's mind.

"Lady Hellsing knows, she permitted it, of course," came Mernov's voice. "You are to have chambers adjacent to my own, unless you wish to be further away." After he spoke he entered through the large doorway and bowed his head at the gentleman before him. "Good evening, Walter. Or should I say good morning?"

"Good morning to you, sir. I see you have some guests?" Walter paused in his speech for just a moment, hardly even waiting for an answer as though he knew exactly what would be the response. In fact, he did. "I shall find a few rooms, of course. I assume you know where yours are; you can find me if you need something else." Walter straightened and walked to the door where he bowed to Odakira. "Ah, you must be the one sent by the Order. And you have brought a friend? Well I suppose a second room won't be too hard." He smiled warmly, the light of the moon glinting softly from his monacle. "Do come in, please! The night air will not be good for her in that state. She will need to have those feet looked at." Walter paused as he sensed yet another individual outside -- Kyphus.

"And you, sir, may I help you?"

He came around from the edge of the door, seeing a figure that was somewhat blocked by Mernov's tall figure. He stood still, moving his head to one side to try to better his view, but it did not seem to work. He stood, still, waiting patiently for something to happen. His head propped up to see Walter, the legend himself, walking up to him.

As he listened to the crisp vocie of Walter, he let off a friendly smile to his noble words. He new that Walter was very talented for a human, and deserved the upmost of respect from human and vampire alike. Not to mention he ran most of the dirty work within the offices and dealt with the guests who came to the Hellsing Organization.

He nodded slightly, and spoke in a more cheerful and friendly tone to the man before him, "Yes, I am... It is good to finally meet you Walter." He added at the end, it was one of his desires to actually see Walter for what he was. It saddened him somewhat to see that the man had lowered himself to a butler, even for someone of his skills and talent. But he must of had his reasons...

As Walter indicated for him to come inside, almost instantaneously to his words, he walked in to behold the beauty of the Mansion. The warm air caressed his cold figure as he did so, knowing now that the lady would be out of harms way within these walls.

"Yes, she does require some attention." He said, his mind troubled once again by Walter's mentioning of friend. Why was everyone talking like he they were friends. All he was showing was his hospitality and respect, as he would any other human. He let it slip from his mind though. Returning another similiar bow to Walter once again before he continued his strides deeper into the room, now ahead of everyone as his golden optics glanced about and took in his surroundings.

He remebered of Walter speaking of accomodating rooms for him and the woman. He understood the reason for the woman's hospitality, but his own? That was unnecessary. He turned to speak out to Walter, but silenced himself as he saw he was already in conversation with Kyphus.

He let out a sigh, then turned around to look at the woman he carried, noticing that she was still in slumber. His facial complexions became broad, as he looked back up to study the room once again, looking up to see a crystal chandelier that hang from the ceiling's midst. This was indeed the place the most properous could exist in.

Slowly, his mind drove off into a trance, as he waited for the conversation to finish, not seeming to hear the words of the others as his figure became still once again.

"Um, Yes, I could use some lodgings. Is there a balcony or a place on the roof I can sit upon?" Kyphus said as he slunk past his host to sit, like an old chimp, in the lobby. "I don't sleep, so I wont need a bed; just a place I can listen to the wind from on high"

Kyphus liked the wind. When he had nothing to do, he would sit upon the highest buildings he could find for months on end. Now that he was on the job, resting was not an option. Of course, that did not mean he could not stop and listen to the world every now and then.

Walter masked his curiosity with ease as he looked upon this strange creature as though he were no different from any other human or humanoid thing he'd ever encountered. He was a curious thing to be sure, but by no means one to be ignored or treated with disrepsect. His request was simple, although Walter treated it with some interest. While it was true that he had allowed the female human to stay without any question, she was a guest of their new employee sent by the Order and needed medical assistance. Walter could only assume, based on her company, that some rebel vampires or other such creatures of the night had inflicted this damage upon her. This man, however, while grotesque and strangely attired -- if it could be called attire, as it was really part of his body -- did not appear to be in any sort of danger. Walter sensed that while this man may not be on the level of some he knew, he would certainly be able to take care of a few rebel vampires -- or even a large crowed of them.

"While I would personally be delighted to offer you the services of this household, it is not our policy to run a hotel," Walter said kindly. While it was true that he was turning down Kyphus' request, his voice somehow made it feel as though it was an acceptance, as he had such a way of speaking to lend an endearing tone to most anything he said. "Your request, however, is not one which I am used to hearing. I cannot completely turn you down, as I don't have control over our, err, external lodging spaces. I don't believe I do anyway. You might check with out security officer, he is outside in a large hut, it shouldn't be too hard to miss. It's slightly louder than the rest of this place, and smells of donuts and coffee," he added, astutely noticing Kyphus' particular eye condition. Walter then turned to the rest of the people waiting, with particular interest in Odakira. "If you would forgive me for the wait, I shall now show you to your rooms. Come, come."

Mernov looked down at Jeanne with interest and curiosity. He wondered how she'd handled that encounter with two "strange creatures" so soon after becoming a child of the night -- so soon, really, after learning about such things. The tall vampire guessed that they still had about an hour or two of darkness left; if she wanted to continue training and get a head start on the next night she would have plenty of time. However, Mernov noted, she had already been through a lot and developed quite a bit. Her third eye had already opened properly and she'd learned to deal with changing events quite quickly. On top of that, she'd proven that her ability to lie was almost as tuned and mastered as his own.

"Well, my lady, how are you feeling?" Mernov asked at length, once Walter and Odakira were well out of earshot. His regal voice filled the massive entry-way with sound and warmth, though he didn't speak even a decible higher than any normal speaking voice. "I shall give you a choice. If you feel up to it, we can continue training. If not, we can rest for the night. It is up to you."

Jeanne, startled to hear her master's voice suddenly, jumped slightly before she looked up to him. His voice was intimidating and yet, at the same time, it was warm (to Jeanne, at least). She thought for a moment, twidling her thumbs a bit before answering. "Well... I wouldn't mind being w-" she caught herself. "I wouldn't.. that is.. mind training a bit more. There's.. still a lot that I need to learn." she replied, quietly. Though the young vampire's eyes felt heavy, she rubbed her lids and smiled, looking up to her master. "I'm ready if you," she paused, yawned slightly, and continued, "if you are, my master."

Kyphus listened well to Walter's words (and snickered when he brought up the scents of coffee and donuts). And although he wanted to protest, he knew that the man had a point. This was obviously a place of importance, even though it was not apparent what kind of action it could serve. On the other hand, this place was full of Vampires, people, and a dog; it did not need an all seeing blind monster in it.

"Hmm...Coffee and Donuts...smoothly blended within a shack to make...um, yeah, I can find it," Kyphus hissed as he clambered out the door in pursuit of the shack. "Hopefully," Kyphus called back to the departing company. "I wont be attacked by Vampires. Good Night, er, morning... I think"

Loping outside like a wolf, Kyphus lightly sprang across the grounds searching the air for the right scent.

"The gates are ahead of me," Kyphus thought to himself. "The stairs, I just jumped off of. So, where have I not been?"

Planting himself in the middle of the lawn, Kyphus screamed, not a human scream but an echolocation made howl. Seconds later, the image came back: a normal lawn, walls, and a hut. Well, there was the hut, with a security guard inside. Taking no time, Kyphus sprang forward to rap on the door with a metallic knuckle before sitting down to wait like a begging dog.

"Just in time," Kyphus smiled. "Sunrise is coming"

His gaze remained softened, tranced amongst the carpet bared-floor. As Walter had spoken to him, he turned slowly, careful of not waking the lady he held in his arms delicately. He nodded his head to Walter, and spoke out softly to him, though his voice seemed somewhat rigid. "It's fine, Walter..." To this he had began to follow quietly behind the butler, aware of the woman's slumber. He stopped for a moment and looked back to Mernov and Jeanne. His eyes seemed to express a troubled feeling, his eyes shakingly looked to them, then down to the floor as he bowed slightly to the two, then continued to follow Walter.

"I need not of any room, Walter." He said, his voice showing prominance and determintation. "Don't waste any space on me, just as long as the girl is cared for is all I wish." He only wanted the woman to be safe, to fulfill his oath, but he was now quite sure people saw it as if he had loved the woman. He had only known her for a short period of time, nor did he know her all that good.

He also felt slight guilt, seeming to be pressuring Walter he thought. He began to wonder if Walter himself ever got any rest at all... Poor man. I wonder if he's any good at Chess?
