Wes merely chuckled to the woman's tone. He admired a woman with 'fight' in her, but her threshold is what would make this all the more fun and amusing to Wes. "Well, I do say you probably got yourself the wrong job here then... A lady as cute as you are should be probably doing something more... dangerous..." Wes turned around from the post he was leaning against to face Violet again. "Maybe robbing trains? Dueling against bandits? Possibly a horse-thief? No.. A silly barmaid with a pretty face in a lousy place like this." The man's hand that wasn't holding a bottle came to grip the handle of his revolver; his grin unremoved from his face, "You talk tough, but I'm sure you've never been in a life-threatening situation before. You could probably be a gun-slinger, but..." Wes then whipped out his revolver; aiming it directly at the woman's head, and continued "..You'll never know when you'll die... Hell, it could be today." Wes then cocked back the hammer with his thumb and winced one eye as if he were taking aim. He stood there a moment, as if he were thinking to shoot or not, but he wasn't... He had everything under control, and had no plot to shoot a woman. Swiftly Wes turned about, and walked down the proch steps of the saloon. Taking one last swig, he threw the bottle up towards the windows of the tavern's bedrooms, took aim, and shot. Just as the bottle had reached the elevation of the windows, it shattered loudly into hundreds of glimmering pieces. A scream can be heard, and even the tumbling of a man falling out of bed. Wes then walked back over to Violet, and gave a small wink, "Wake up call. Obviously if me and you are crazy to wake up this early, so should everyone else. Tell me, what's your name? I'm Benson.. Wes Benson." |

Oh, I've been in one of those before. Try being kidnapped by a bunch of bandits, knowing that nobody's home to pay your ransom, you chauvinist slug. Don't even get a chance to fight. Men had a way of thinking that their gunslinging robberies and duels were more dangerous than anything a woman could face-- they never seemed to realize that everything a woman faced was inherently more dangerous, simply because she couldn't defend herself much against anything.
But those were not things one said to the man holding the gun, at least not if one had any interest in living for longer than the next few moments. She was relieved when he turned away, and for a moment she entertained the idea of pulling her own small pistol out of its holster, which was strapped to one leg, hidden under her skirts. However, this weapon was mostly good due to its element of surprise, and there was no reason to reveal it yet-- the man, Wes Benson, no longer seemed to want to shoot her. "Correction," she said, relaxing only slightly, "you're crazy enough to wake up this early. I just heard the piano music. Name's Violet." She left off her last name; it wasn't that she thought this man could do any harm with it, just that she didn't partucularly like him. In fact, she quite strongly didn't like him. "And I'd appreciate it if you'd avoid scaring those people any more than you already have. 'S probably bad for business." OOC:Aaaand just when things are getting interesting, with the train robbery and all that... i gotta go to Louisiana. >< Be back in a week. ^^; I may be able to find someplace to post while I'm there, but I may not. Ah well... XD Timewarps are my new best friends. |

"What kinda damn fool goes shootin' this early in the morning?" Aria said, one brown eye opening slowly, the other squinched up tight against the early morning sun.
"Dunno," West replied groggily. "Let's see if we can rustle up some grub before our big adventure. It's not like we can go back to sleep now, anyways..." Aria washed her face, and prepared for the day--West did, too, putting his clothes on (he had taken off everything except for his shirt and underwear). Dionysis was still out cold, and so Aria and West decided to just leave him. They figured the new recruits would be more help, anyways. They gathered their stuff and went downstairs, to find Wes and Violet arguing. There was broken glass in shards on the floor, and Wes held a smoking gun. "Idiot," West said, smacking his forehead with his palm. He had a strong dislike for those who shot for no reason, but at least it wasn't at anybody, and no one had been hurt. But, the fact that Wes had not had a good reason to shoot bothered George immensely, and he put his hand on the butt of his gun. Aria was one step ahead of him, however, deftly smacking Wes's hand to teach him a lesson--her hardwood cane could break bones if she put enough force behind it, and in her anger, she had probably swung harder than she should have. Wes's hand would probably have a swollen purple bruise across it. "Don't do that again." OOC:EDITED. |

That's when he looked around Violet to see Aria and George coming towards him (and not too happy-looking either. No surprise there). Wes had holstered his revolver then gave a wave, only for his hand to damn-near be obliviated by the peg-leg's walking cane. "Gotcha'.." Wes remarked, giving a nod to Violet about her 'business' remark. She was right, but Wes was now wishing he hadn't put away his gun, for two shots would have been fired... He didn't flinch from the blow dealt, but it sure did smart.
"Well good morning to you as well, Sassy." Wes spoke out in a smartass-tone to Aria, giving a playful bow to greet her. "What's the matter? Fall off the wrong side of the bed this morning?" Arising, Wes peered around the small two-and-a-half legged woman at George, who had a hand on a gun. "Oh come now," He said, "There's no need for that, I didn't plan on hurting anyone, unlike Aria here." The red cowboy rolled his eyes, took a step back, and leaned against the porch's beam again. |

"Ummm... I hope I'm not interupting anything. All I came in here for was breakfast."
Her fiery hair was a bit untidy from last night's sleep, and her face was still slightly pink from scrubbing it clean recently. However, it was beginning to fade to reveal her smooth, alabaster complexion. She wore no make up, but she still looked radiant in the morning sunlight that managed to stream in through the dirty windows. She wore a long skirt, a shirt with sleeves that cut off at the elbow, and a simple cloth bodice that she hadn't bother to lace up. Her blue eyes were lit with curiosity, she was sure George and Aria could handle things, and she had heard Violet was a sharp shooter as well, so she wasn't worried about the situation getting out of control. |

Vincent had been enjoying a rather surprisingly restful sleep -- though the bed was pretty shady-looking, it was nevertheless the first real bed he'ds lept on in a while -- when he was gradually roused from his dreams by some novice pounding away on the piano. At first, he'd hoped it was just some strange element to his dream. However, he soon realized that it was, in fact, real, and that he was awake. Not to be deterred from his precious slumber, Vincent folded the pillow around his head to cover his ears and managed to get back to sleep. It wouldn't last long, however, as the all too familiar sound of a gunshot broke its way through the thin walls of the room and the lumpy, wishes-it-were-down pillow. This time, it didn't take him a few moments to finally realize he was awake. Vincent was up and dressed and combed in just a few seconds. Getting ready like this had become such a habit to him that he hardly even thought about it -- it was practically instinct. As he crept towards the small slice of glass that pretended to be a window, he pulled back the left side of his large, dusty jacket and let his hand rest upon his Peacemaker's handle. Peeking out, he could just make out the jerk from the night before, holding a smoking pistol in his hand. Vincent also noticed the shattered remains of some glass object -- probably a bottle, given its location and the varied shapes of the shards. So he was just showing off, huh? the young man thought with a sigh. He adjusted his jacket to once more cover the pistol, then left his room and headed downstairs. Though he would've much rather gone back to sleep, it was useless to try now -- he was wide awake. "What's all this commotion about?" he innocently asked the small group of people. "Who's wasting gunpowder this early in the morning?" Vincent scratched his head, realizing he'd left his hat upstairs. Oh well, he thought, If I need it later, I can get it, I suppose. |

Before anyone could answer, Vincent then came into the picture. Wes raised his hand, playing to be proud of what he did, "The devil himself, and even the devil can be a nuisance. Good morning." I shoudn't have drank that this mornin'... Booze in the morning always does this to me. "Speaking of the devil, is today by any chance Sunday?" Wes asked the group, then gave a shrug. "...Hm well, being myself, I'd like to know what Mythic has in store for me." He then looked to Vincent, then added, "Or rather, us." Wes was content in trying to find his father's killer, maybe too much. Whenever he would get a lead or some way of getting information, he would always jump the gun.... Literally. OOC:Wes is stupid, we all can see that obviously. Throw an insult at him if you will XD lol |

"And utterly mistaken. The devil can play better piano." She made herself breakfast, watered down wine with lemon, and took a sip. "It just so happens to be Saturday," she continued, feeling useful. "However, I know the Jews celebrate sabbath on Saturday." |

Violet made her way back to the bar to pour herself a glass of water, though this also served to remove her from an area too near Wes. He made her nervous; he'd only just woken up, and he was already drunk and shooting stupidly at inanimate objects. Who knew how bad things could get by the evening? She silently hoped that he wouldn't return tonight-- he was both arrogant and in posession of a loaded gun, and she'd always found that to be a bad combination. Her eyes narrowed to wary slits when he mentioned Mythic. It was a relatively small town, and she wasn't eager to see it disrupted by bandits. It was, after all, the closest thing she had to a home. Odd, though, she thought, her eyes turning to Vincent. I don't see why such a 'cultured' man would involve himself in that. Still, that was none of her business. Perhaps he wasn't really all that cultured after all. I wouldn't be terribly surprised. She'd seen her share of "gentlemen" who'd turned out to be no better than the rest of them. So Violet turned instead to the one person there that she actually knew. "Jean Louise, how would you know anything about the Jews?" Her tone was entirely one of curiosity... there were no Jews in this town. Or, if there were, she'd never run into one of them. But then again, Jean Louise hadn't been here very long. For all Violet knew, she might have come from a town full of Jews. |

It was true--the girl had gone all over the country robbing unsuspecting 'customers' and he wouldn't have been surprised if a few of them had been Jewish.
Aria lowered her cane. "We'd better get going after everyone eats if we're going to make our train. It leaves from the next town in three hours." She turned to Violet. "So, what's for breakfast?" West's stomach growled. "Y'got some eggs an' bacon an' toast? I'm powerful hungry." OOC:CARP |

"Sure," she said, pulling out the breakfast foods and throwing some bacon onto a griddle*. "How many eggs d'you want?" She assumed that if anyone else wanted anything, they'd say so. OOC:*I have no idea how they used to cook. If there are any anachronisms/glaring errors, you can either let them slide or let me know. XD I don't care which. |

She was an expert on blushing on cue. "I just don't like staying in the same place for too long, that's all. It just so happens that Jews pay very well for my services."
You think they wouldn't carry so much money on them, just incase someone tried to rob them, she thought to herself. Talk about easy pickings. "Besides," Etta watched the eggs sizzle on the griddle. "Religion is interesting. I like learning and talking about it." |

Wes announced viciously to what Etta said, his voice was sharp like the crack of a whip. The memories of his troubled past caused his jovial and drunken mood to become enraged with hate. The look on his face gave it away too well. Wes turned about and marched out of the saloon.
"Damn Jews. Damn Lutherans. Damn all of them..." Wes cursed as he kicked the dirt of the road of where he walked; making his way to a stable. He could see a donkey (of all things), and an array of horses. One of which had dark brown hair that almost looked red from a distance. From the looks of it, it might have been one of the fastest horses in the stable, but looks could be deceiving. Wes pondered a moment after ridding the religous baffle from his mind on whether or not to steal the horse before the mission, or wait for the mission's pay, then buy it... Or wait till Sunday. Stealing a horse would definitely insure Wes a warrant for his life, so he decided to stay out of trouble for now and get the money for it. After doing this, Wes went back to the saloon, but did not enter. Instead, he waited outside behind the building; leaning against it. He wasn't ever in the mood to hear about religion, so he rather wait outside for the mission to begin. He wasn't feeling hungry now.... |

She then tipped her glass back and sallowd whatever was left.
"Well," Jean Louise grinned, and poured herself another half a glass of wine, but this time she didn't water it down. "That worked out nicely." she drained her glass in one swallow. "Who's hungry?" she asked reaching up and grabbing a few plates for the eggs and bacon. |

Drunken cowboys showed up around here every other day, for heaven's sake.
Pulling her mind from that, she began flipping eggs and bacon onto the plates. "I guess it did, didn't it?" She smiled. "No sense having a shootout over relgion, right? If he'd pay for his drinks, I wouldn't care if the devil himself walked in here." She paused. "And by that, I don't mean some arrogant wanna-be Satan, either." |
