"Grr, fine." Melia pouted discontently. Something about that man jus' isn't right.

"Y-yes," Mythic and Aria said, from their position on the ground. Mythic then realized that Aria was clutching onto him and that the sack-of-potatoes called West's daughter was between them. Oh, how awkward, he though, squirming a little inside.

"Sorry," Aria said, letting go of him.

"Now George," Melia said, "It doesn't make sense for all of us to go. I think Aria and Mythic should stay here with Dani."

"Like hell!" Aria and Mythic said together.
Aria followed with, "Uh, not that I don't like Dani or nothin'..."

"All right, fine, I'll stay here and babysit the kid, the mutt, and the steeds. Happy?" Melia said, deadpan look on her face.

"Very," Mythic said, rubbing his hands together.

Wes gave another one his chuckles and spoke out to Melia, "Could be worse. You could be babysittin' me!"

Turning about, he stood beside Mythic and nodded to him and Aria, "I'm ready whenever you are. I just cant wait to see 'em explosives you got at work." A sly grin was upon Wes' face as he said this to Aria.

Violet continued throwing rats at the walls, listening to them squeak and waiting for something to happen. There's not much for me to do until those damn heroes get in here and break us out, she thought, figuratively nudging the other roleplayers and hoping they'd breathe a little life back into this story.

Had she been able to, she might have attempted to defy the Law of Conservation of Mass-- again, a figurative nudge to those roleplayers who get the reference-- and disappear, maybe choosing to reappear somewhere else, where she could be of more use. Like outside, perhaps, where the gunfighting was more or less over and yet nobody was moving forward. Or wherever Arkus was, so she could make him do something instead of sitting there. Or an ammunition factory, so she and Jean Louise could do something a little more productive than listening to rats squeaking as they hit the walls.

Ah, she thought, that darn Conservation of Mass.

"We'd best be goin'," George said to the others, "An' quick. Before th' girls die of old age."

Mythic flipped through the sketchbook. "Here," he said, pointing to a glued-in page.
Aria took one look, and beckoned the others over. "It's a map of the base!"
"Yeah, Dad took the time to make it the last time he was here."
"It'll take considerably less time to get there now," Aria said. "Thanks for finding it!"
"No problem." He traced his finger across the page. "Here's where Arkus usually is... and here," he said pointing to the bottom floor, "is where the cells are. Where the girls probably are."

"Okay," George said. "Seems easy enough, if'n we don't cause too mucha a ruckus."
Aria nodded.
"But if we do get into trouble, and can't get out of it," Mythic said to everyone, "George, you take the girls and leave."
"But--"
"No, you've got a daughter to take care of," Aria said. "Don't worry about us."
"All... all right..."

Mythic clapped the book shut, making Aria jump with shock. "OKAY!" He said, "Let's go already!"
Everyone went to their saddlebags and armed themselves with the weapons therein.

Violet thanked whatever god may exist-- she was no staunch religious woman, but neither would she oppose any help that a deity chose to provide-- for convenient plot devices hidden in stolen sketchbooks.

"Well, this is fun," she said, half to Jean Louise and half to break the monotony of rat squeaks.

"I'm going to get old," Jean Louise said in realization. "I'm going to get old and wirnkly and all I'll have is rats and the Conservation of Mass to keep me company." She sniffled. "Violet! My beauty cannot go to waste down here in this hole. I want out!" She sat in the middle of the cell, holding her knees close to her chest. She was sick of the rats and the dark and the moist musty smell.

OOC: I'm not gonna lie. I don't remember what I'm doing at all XD

Vincent peeked out from behind a large rock, scanning the cliff for more snipers. Through some miraculous plot device similar to others that have cropped up recently, he managed to avoid drawing too much attention to himself. Unlike the more straightforward and, well, painful approach that certain other members of the "team" used, Vincent chose to carefully weave from rock to rock, getting in range of the snipers as well as finding an appropriate vantage point from which to take them out. The young man had taken out several using this method, enduring little more than a hole in his jacket -- a lucky dodge; had he not hesitated, he could have easily now have a large, bloody hole in his arm or chest.

The young man hated these sorts of gunfights. From where he crouched, he couldn't see any snipers, and that bothered him. His instinct told him that there were more, yet with sort of fight the only real way he could find them was to run around until someone took a shot at him. He preferred a straight fight in closer quarters, and with weapons of equal range. That was his specialty, anyway. Though his senses (particularly his hearing) were highly tuned, both from practice and even from learning his instruments, there was little for him to pick up on in this sort of situation.

His interest was piqued, however, when that mysterious Mythic pulled out what was apparently some sort of Deus Ex Machina, clearly intended to revive them all from the strange state of hibernation they'd been in. Just as clearly, it was starting to work. His pistol reloaded and his sense alert, Vincent made his way to the group to figure out the plan.

"What incredible plot convenience -- err, I mean luck -- that you found that map," Vincent said, raising an eyebrow and glancing up at the heavens for a moment. "I say we hurry up and move this thread along before those bandits do something horrible to the girls, like bore them to death by silence. Let's not rush into things too quick though, Arkus may have planned for this. Someone should go ahead to spring any traps, while the rest of us back him up. Another should cover our backs, so we don't get surrounded."

Aria's eyes lit up. "Wait," she said quickly, snatching the book from Mythic. She opened it to the page with the map pasted to it, and turned to face the cliff. 'Well,' she muttered, comparing the map with the face of the cliff, 'If they're here, and we're there, then... Okay, then there would be... If I exploded the right amount...'

George's head whipped around. " 'Exploded'??"

"I'm gonna blast 'em out. This thread's moving as slowly as molasses goin' uphill in February."

His eyes expanded to saucers, it seemed, and the rest of the team were shocked as well. "Y'better be careful, real careful..."

"I mean, I know it's going slowly, but that's a little drastic," Melia commented. "If you kill them just because th' thread's not movin'... we'll kill you."

Aria gave Melia a deadpan stare. "Good God, I'm a pyrotechnics and explosives expert, I'm not gonna kill 'em." She sighed, then continued speaking. "I'm more worried that I won't use enough, or detonate it in the wrong spot, and then our collective asses will be Arkus's."

Mythic gave her a thumbs' up. "Good. I was just about to say that."

Aria nodded, serious expression on her face. She warned the others to stay a good distance away, and then got her supplies out of her saddle. She jogged over to the appropriate area on the cliff, setting the dynamite.

Aria ran the line out behind her as she jogged back to the group. She lit the end of the fuse, and motioned for the others to get down and plug their ears.

And then... nothing.

The wind had gusted, and blown out the fuse halfway to its goal with a hiss. Aria got up, going scowling and cursing to light the fuse again.

This time, the wind held out, and the explosives detonated with a thump and a wave of air pressure.

Dani, asleep in her father's arms, amazingly didn't wake up. The real reason for this is not that she is extraordinarily tired, but that Amelia is a lazy bum who made and introduced more characters into this roleplay than she feels like playing at the moment.
George had lumped her blanket over her ears to protect them.

The others got up and ran over to see the results. Two sets of eyes blinked up at them from the hole the dynamite had made. They seemed to be all right, albeit covered in dust and a bit askew.

"Success," Aria cheered, pumping her fist in the air. The others high fived her. Well, except for Mythic. She had to chase after him and tackle him to the ground because he is wimpy and lame and won't admit he likes her.

George had handed Dani off to Melia, who felt more like a mule than a person at this point. He then rushed over to the hole. "You two all right?" He called to the girls.

OOC:YES!!! Finally... XD

Come on, heroes, thought Violet, picking up another rat by its wormlike tail. Hurry up. I'm bored.

She threw it.

Thump.

This is your cue. Thump. Squeak. Two helpless women in a cell. Isn't it rescue time yet? She knew how these things worked; she'd been through them before. Not that she wouldn't have given anything for a shot at whoever had decided to kidnap her... but, as it was, he seemed to be making no appearance, so she'd have to wait to be rescued.

Thump.

Thump.

BOOM.

Violet was thrown to the hard, cold floor by the force of the explosion, thankfully not falling on any of the smelly little animals. Her only clear thought-- and it wasn't very-- was that she probably shouldn't have thrown that last rat. Dangerous, that one was. Had been. Used to be.

She stood up, her head and the air beginning to clear. By the time the dust had settled, she was thinking straight again, and had begun to wonder whether they were being broken out or killed. Of course, if the person responsible for kidnapping them wanted them dead, he'd be an idiot to blow up his own cell.

Still, there was no sense rushing out of the relatively safe cell and into a potentially dangerous situation. Only after she heard George call from outside the crumbling hole in the wall did she poke her head out, wiping at the smudges of dirt on her face. The bright glare of sunlight made her wince, but she shielded her eyes with one hand and climbed over the pile of rubble after checking to make sure Jean Louise was conscious enough to get herself out.

"I," she announced, her voice sounding rather shaken but her glare steadily fixed on George-- who, she was sure, had to be to blame here-- "am never going on another picnic again."

Jean Louise sighed. The thread was dead. She would be trapped with the rats forever.

Call me Rat Lady!

The explosion threw her to the ground, and she screamed, and covered her head.

"My hair," she coughed. She stood and shook off the dust and looked toward the light. She did not want to know what her face and hair looked like because she was sure she would have a heartattack.

"George!" she squealed, stumbling out of the cell as fast as she could with out falling on her face. She hugged him tightly, she was so happy she was near tears. "I thought I was going to die, or get raped or worse, die an old maid in a rat-infested hole!"

"It only took you a month," she said standing back to glare at him. "What happened? did you stop to write a book or did you just get lost?" She laughed and hugged him again. "I never want to see another rat ever again."

"So what was this whole train robbery for anyway?" she asked innocently, secretly hoping she could get a share of the spoils. "Gold, jewels, cash?"

"Hmm... Maybe a Playstation 3, or possibly a 360. Oh boy! Christmas is gonna rock this ye--"

-- Queue Explosion

Wes' thoughts were soon thrown off by the explosion created by Aria... Not to mention he was thrown off his feet as well. "What in tar'nations!! I was only thinking about Christmas an-- Oh! Err...." Wes coughed and smiled weakly, "Umm, I was only thinking how long it would take for this story to move along, that's all... cough"

Wes joined up with group and was about to ask 'What next' until Jean asked a question she would regret. Wes thought to himself that this would be the perfect time to be an ass once more, but left it all for someone else to answer. Besides, the last thing he would need is some crazed woman scratching his good eye out.

George hugged Jean Louise tightly. "We were waiting for Arkus' roleplayer to post. That's always a mistake."
He looked at Violet, smiling sheepishly. "'Twasn't my fault, ma'am, but, uh..."

Aria looked at the others, holding up her hands. "Oh no, I'm not gonna touch the dookie."

"What?" Mythic said.

"Er, tell them what happened."

"What do you..."

Melia raised her hand. "Oh, oh, me! I will!" She had an evil grin on her face. "I'll give you a head start, first."

"...huh?"

"Well, if you're too stupid to take it, it's your own damn fault." Melia shrugged.

Aria slapped herself on the forehead. She wondered what the hell she saw in him, sometimes. ...Okay, most of the time.

"We robbed the train... for a sketchbook," Melia said, painfully enunciating 'sketchbook' to make clear how pissed she was.

Mythic's pupils shrunk. "Oh... right,"[/size:bf7c1cb242] he said in a tiny voice. He then turned tail and ran as fast as his legs would take him.

Aria put her hands on her hips. "Yeah, I remember when he found out the thing was missing. He was all like, 'Where's the sketchbook?' and whining at me and crap... I was just like 'If it was on fire up your ass you'd know!'."

Melia and George laughed, tears streaming out of their eyes.

'Jesus, you're supposed to be our boss,'[/size:bf7c1cb242] Aria muttered. 'Get your shit together, man.'[/size:bf7c1cb242] She then burst into laughter. She wasn't being *entirely* serious.

Jean Louise's eyes glittered dangerously, and the hot dessert suddenly seemed a little cooler. Mythic did not get very far. The dancer sprang into action, and pounced on the artist, tackling him to the ground, face first. She sat up and snatched the book and flipped through it.

"I was kidnapped and tossed into a hole with RATS for a stupid doodle book?!" she snarled. She then began to beat him over the head with his precious collection of doodles- I mean, sketches. "I have never been so insulted in my life! They aren't even all that great!"

You've gotta be kidding me. Damn artists types, with their damn sketchbooks...

Violet watched for a few minutes as Jean Louise beat Mythic over the head with the apparently worthless object that had resulted in their kidnapping. She didn't help. Senseless violence, she had found, rarely solved anything; besides, they were out of it now. But she didn't stop Jean Louise either-- senseless violence also happened to be incredibly entertaining.

"So," she said, turning toward Vincent, who happened to be nearest. "What kept you guys?" She shrugged. It didn't really mattered, she supposed. "Maybe we should, ah... get out of here. Before, you know, someone decides to check out that mysterious explosion coming from the prison cells."

"That would be a shame, wouldn't it?" came a drawling voice from the prison cell door. Arkus stood halfway down the cell stairs with two of his revolvers drawn, aimed at his former prisoners' skulls. Behind his was Shadowhand, rifle aimed at (Amelia's character with the sketchbook, whoever the fuck you are among roughly 4 or 5 characters, if you are still holding on to it and not being beaten with it). Arkus snorted.

"I tend to notice when a loud explosion rocks my entire fortress." he snarled, pulling the hammer back on both guns. "And I don't appreciate it." He turned his eyes towards (character named above).

"The book, if you please. If you want them to live."
