But then again, who knows what the hell was in that saf--' PING
With his thoughts interrupted, the gun-toting cowboy turned to see a larger group of agents firing away; the sound that ceased his mind was a bullet ricocheting off the railing he stood by. Quickly Wes shot each of his revolvers once, managing to cause those in front of the group to fall back from their wounds. Closing the door to the cart quickly, he climbed onto the backrail of the train cart and jumped off. Wes landed on both his feet and tumbled back; his legs going up then back down as he kneeled from the rough landing. Luckily, the soft hackney sack on his back kept his head from grinding the rocks and dirt. Rising up, Wes made his way towards the now larger group. It took a while to reach them after he had jumped train, for when he met the group, it seemed some sort of dramatic event took place. He also noticed the girls weren't here. "Where're the ladies?" Wes asked, showing no concern in his voice whatsoever, then looked over to the others, "And who're you all?" |

"Y-y'jus' said 'Where are the ladies?'" He had a really, really bad feeling about this. He wiped his face off on his bandanna, and looked out towards where Mythic was through his red-rimmed eyes. He saw the animals, and Mythic. No Jean Louise or Violet. "Oh God," he said, "I've been sittin' here feelin' sorry for myself, and they could be dead! We've gotta go right now!"
Always caring about others and not himself, Aria thought with a small smile. Although it's horrible that Jean and Violet got taken, at least it's something to put his mind on besides Sarah's death... Melia and Aria let go of him, and he ran over to Mythic. He got on Jesus, and gave his hat to Drooler. "What are you doing, West?" Mythic said. West's eyes steeled. Drooler sniffed and sniffed the hat, and finally got Jean Louise's scent. He sniffed around for the trail, and, finding it, threw back his massive head and howled. He picked up the hat in his teeth, and ran in Jean Louise's direction. "My friends have been kidnapped, we're going to get them back," West said, not turning around to face Mythic. He spurred Jesus as fast as he could after Drooler. Mythic shuddered. He had already lost someone close to him, and he didn't want more to die--it showed. It showed in the way the wrinkles on his face seemed to deepen with worry, making him look both severe, and a good 20 years older than he actually was. "Pff, and we're not ladies?" Melia said to Wes. "I would say 'Nice to meet a fellow MYTHIC member,' but seeing as you're an uncaring asshole, never mind." Jesus Christ, he doesn't even care why George is in so much pain! I hate him already! She heard what West said, and Drooler's howl, and said to Aria, "It's time to go--Drooler's got one of your missing friends' scents." She got up onto Chocolate, spurring her to catch up with Drooler and Jesus. "Right," Aria said, nodding. She got on Obsidian in one leap, not caring if Wes got on or not. What he carried was Mythic's problem, not hers, anyways. She followed Melia out into the open desert. Mythic trotted over to Wes. "Need a lift?" He said. "It seems we're being left behind." He then saw the sack on Wes's back, and said, "I believe that belongs to me, hm, Hades?" |

After all, she wasn't the one who was kidnapped and would need cared for, it was Jean and Violet. Besides, Melia was of no acquaintance to Wes, and she obviously was in okay condition. 'So what? I'm an asshole. But at least I'm not a selfish bitch.' Wes thought. George's emotion set aside about the past, there was trouble that needed to be attended to right now... and from the looks of it, Wes would not attend the others to find them.
"It seems so." Wes replied to Mythic's 'left behind' statement. Then when the man brought up what was strapped to Wes' back, the one-eyed cowboy removed the bag and stared at it for a moment. "What is it exactly?" Before he continued, his head snapped up to give a cold and stern stare that locked onto Mythic's visage. "I'd at least like to know what I risked my life for, other than my initiation into your group." With this being said, Wes threw the bag up and into Mythic's lap. "As much as I like the ring to the name 'Hades' has, I'd much more prefer 'Lucifer'. It's my usual handle for my work... But whatever works for ya, it doesn't matter to me." The red cowboy then jumped onto the horse behind the man, but facing the opposite direction. His back was to Mythic's back, and Wes rested his foot onto the horse's croup; his other foot dangling off the side of the animal. Propping his arm up on his knee, Wes leaned his head into his arm. '...And the day isn't even half over.' Wes thought to himself as he glanced up at the afternoon sun. |

Minutes after making their exit, the bandits came to their hideout. The two women would have the unpleasant feeling of being heaved over someone's shoulder like a bag and carried for several more agonizing seconds, and then would feel their hands being untied. But before they would have a chance to react to this, their hands were replaced in shackes on the wall of a small cell. Each set was essentially like a pair of iron handcuffs with a chain leading to the wall, where it had been driven in with a sturdy metal bolt. The blindfolds and gags were removed, and the two men who had brought the women into the cell left instantly, closing and locking the cell door behind them. The only light in the room came from a torch hanging in a sconce on the wall.
"Enjoy your stay," one of the men snickered, his smile revealing several missing teeth. With that, he took the torch and left the women in total darkness. |

"Violet," Jean Louise called out softly, once they were alone. "I don't like the dark very much... and i didn't get to finish my sandwich. I think I dropped it in the river. My shoes are probably still on the river bank." She was quiet for a moment. "I don't think we're going to make it back in time for the show tonight." She paused and sighed. "Violet, please stop touching my foot." She knew she wasn't saying anything important, but she hated silence as much as she hated the dark. |

Her thoughts were quickly interrupted, as usual, by Jean Louise's soft, frightened voice. The poor girl sounded awful, and Violet sighed, knowing that she could never knowingly send her friend into a potentially dangerous situation-- Oh yeah. That's why. Well, no matter. They were here, and the only thing to do was to find a way out. "I'm not touching your foot," she replied without thinking, then wished she hadn't. The squeaking sound was coming from all around them-- the walls, the beams running across the ceiling, and, yes, the floor. And, knowing Jean Louise, these small, furry guests would probably not be entirely welcome. Not like they could do much about it, anyway. |

Jean Louise understood, but she wanted to believe it was just a joke. It had to be a joke, right? It wasn't what she thought it was, was it?
Yes, it was. "GAH!" Jean Louise lashed out at the rat with her foot. There was a squeal and skittering followed as the rat retreated. "Lovely," Jean Louise whimpered pathetically and pulled her legs in so that her knees were touching her chest as she realized they were surrounded. "Just lovely. I'm ready to go now. Where's George? Men, they're never around when you need 'em. I want my shoes..." "Well, then, I'm ready to leave," Jean Louise pulled a hair pin out of her fiery locks and started to carefully pick the lock. "How about you, Violet?" |

"Yeah, men." There was a short pause. Then: "Hn."
The soft scraping noise found its way to Violet's ears, among all the squaking. One well-placed kick silenced one of these squeaks-- she was grateful that she had her shoes-- and she waited patiently for Jean Louise to finish picking the lock and make her way over to Violet, who wore no pins in her hair. "I'll assume you already know the answer to that one," she said. |

His horse ran fast, catching up with Jesus and the others in no time. Then, when he caught up, Mythic slowed his horse down. He turned a bit towards Wes so that he could hear him speak. "You, my friend, risked your life to steal back something of mine. Damn federal spies got into the base about a year back, and stole my sketchbook. Naturally, when we found them, they were taken care of. However, they knew our location, and we had to move. What a pain in the ass." He sighed. "Well, anyways, they managed to get the book away from us, and keep it away from us for a year. Who knows how many government officials have seen it by now?" He sighed again, deeper. "This was damage control. Even though we cannot use the technology contained any longer (since it was leaked), we can at least keep more people from finding out about it." --- Drooler took a sharp turn, heading into the rocky hills. George followed, but he began to feel a chill, creepy feeling of... deja vu? West looked to Melia and Aria. "'S Drooler leadin' us where I think he is? Them caves where all th' bandits are?" They said, nearly at the same time, "...What?" But, as they passed more and more familiar land, they realized... "Yes, yes, he is," Aria said, gulping. "Christ, we're in for it, aren't we," Melia said nervously. "Remember what happened last time we dealt with the bandits that hang around these parts, Mythic?" "Dad and Rufo used to have an okay relationship, albeit rocky. Until two years ago, when Arkus shot him three times in the foot because Dad didn't pay him enough for his help," Mythic said. They all winced. "It kind of snowballed from there." OOC:If you're not okay with that explanation of why Mythic and Arkus hate each other, Boots, then tell me so I can change it or whatever. |

You won’t be lonely, that’s for sure. C’mon, c’mon… and… there we go. I’m free… sorta…” She stood up and cringed with every step she took across the cold, gross-feeling dirt floor toward Violet.
“Ew… Ew… Ew… EEEK!! I stepped on one!!” Jean Louise flailed frantically, and landed ungracefully on her rear. “I hate rats!” she screamed, hitting her knees with her fists. “Why did it have to be rats?! If I have to touch one more rat I’m gonna- EEK!!!” She screamed in a frustrated manner, and there was a soft thud and a squeal as she threw one against a wall. “Gak! I touched it!! Ew ew ew ew ew ew!” She stood up, ran to Violet, dropped to her knees, and clung to her friend on the verge of tears. “I touched it! And it was dirty, and furry, and gross!” |

"Just get me out of these cuffs, will you?" she whispered loudly, trying not to attract the attention of any of the bandits-- though, after Jean Louise's little squealing fit, she might as well not even bother keeping her voice down.
"They're just rats, Jean Louise!" Her voice was harsh; her friend was having hysterics, and her usual response would be a sharp slap to the face, but her hands were currently unusable. She rattled the chains loudly, trying to pull her friend's attention back to where it needed to be. |

She freed her first hand, and went to the other. The entertainer flinched and twitched every time she felt a furry body against her foot, or the lash of a small whip-like tail. She bit her lip to keep from crying out, but she still whimpered frequently.
"They're like the sze of a cat," she muttered bitterly. "All right, you're out. Now what do we do?" |

'Plans and schematics?' He thought to himself as he turned about to glance at the cyborg dog. 'Technology? Maybe that dog is a creation of his... And if it came from that year old book of his, who knows what he's came up with now?'
It took a moment for it to hit Wes, but when he turned back around, he slapped his forehead. 'Damn! Why couldn't it be money? "Well partner, you better not tell the kidnapped ladies that," Wes said to Mythic with a half-sarcastic tone, "They'd cut off your kahunas if they find out they got kidnapped, raped, tortured, or maybe even killed watching our steeds as we returned your sketchbook back." He wasn't taking this all too well. Madness. But that was Hell. "But..." Wes continued after George and Aria confirmed where they were headed, "At least I'll get the pleasure in killing some bandits." |

"Heh, my book's more valuable than all the money you've ever seen combined," he said. "That's because it was my father's, as well." He gestured with the Moleskine journal. "There are things in here that'll blow your mind. And they all work."
He sighed. He tended to a lot, recently. "I digress..." ----- George looked ahead. The cliffs were growing nearer and nearer. "We're almost there," he said to the others. Aria called to George, "You're running poor Jesus too hard, he's not a horse! I'll switch with you so you can go on ahead!" And to Melia, "We shouldn't put Dani in danger. She'll stay behind with Jesus and I." George and Melia nodded, and pulled their beasts alongside Obsidian. They slowed down, and then got off. George took Dani off Chocolate, and draped her over Jesus' neck. Aria then switched mounts with George. "I'll follow you, but slower," Aria said to George. He nodded, and then he and Melia took off, coming to the cliffs in no time. OOC:Where's Vincent??? D:

It was; apparently nothing had happened so far beyond the kidnapping and the being chained to the wall bits. Well, that was good to know. "Now we figure out how to get out of here," she said briskly, making her way back to the wall. She began to walk around the perimeter of the entire room, staying close to the wall. "Can't rely on the men, remember?"
The room was smallish, but not as small as she'd originally thought. Her only actual view of it had been in the few seconds after the blindfolds had been removed and before the torch had been taken out, and most of that time had been spent struggling. "We're pretty defenseless," she said quietly, after a long moment of thought. One gun couldn't possibly take down all those bandits. "And even if we had weapons, we're locked in... and I doubt you could pick that one." Kicking some rats out of the way, Violet cleared a small space on the floor and sat down. "I guess we could always try to seduce one of the guards or something. Get 'em in here, knock 'em out, take whatever they've got on 'em... Keys, if we're lucky. Or maybe they'll even forget to lock the door behind them." She grinned, though Jean Louise probably couldn't see it. "So I guess we just wait for someone to come check on us, then you can get him in here and I'll hit him real hard." OOC:She has no idea that that's what Jean Louise does every night anyway... XDDDD |
