Jean Louise rode and happily chatted away about... well, everything. The sky, birds, cactus, other people, horses, the way they smell, the way men smell, hair shoes, food, sand and the list went on and on. Finally she paused and took a breath.

"So where are we?" She asked. "Are we close to... wherever it is?"

West had nodded off. Aria was shaking him, and pointing silently to the clock on the wall. They were where they needed to be.

"It's go time," West whispered to all of them. "Vincent, you come with me. We're backup. We're gonna take out the telegraph operator, the Feds, and stop the train... in that order."

Aria turned to Wes. "You know what we're doing, right? Blast the safe loose, take it, and run. Sounds a lot easier than it'll actually be."

"Alright," West said, opening the door of their little room. "Divide and conquer." He headed up the aisle towards the front of the train with Vincent. Aria went the opposite way with Wes, towards the safe.

-----Back to Mythic and Flugel, time has passed-----

Drooler sniffed the red, dusty soil in front of the saloon and whined.

"He must have stopped here for a long time," James said. "This is where I sent him to meet up with Di..." Suddenly, a man emerged from the privy, zipping up his pants.

"Speak of the Devil," Stahlflugel moaned.

"Yo," Dionysis said. "James, Melia." MYTHIC rules forbade openly admitting in public who you worked for, or giving away your codename.

"So, have you seen West lately?" Mythic asked.

"He left, uh, I'd say about 8 hours ago."

"So we're finally getting close to Daddy?" Dani said sleepily. Her back hurt from sleeping on the ground, and her legs were cramped from sitting on Chocolate day after day.

"Yeah, we'll probably catch up with him today!" Melia said cheerily. She missed West, too.

Dionysis suddenly remembered something. "Oh yeah," he added, just as Drooler caught West's trail again. "Aria showed up to help. She's with him."

"Oh... oh merciful God," Mythic said, all color draining from his face.

"Mr. Jim looks funny," Dani said, laughing. "He must not like Ms. Aria."

"You can say that again," Stahlflugel said, guffawing.

Drooler took a quick break to pee on a Saguaro, and after he licked his nether regions to his satisfaction, he was off again.

"Well, gotta go," James said, waving to Dionysus.

"Sir? I... aw, man," Dionysis sighed. "I'ma be stuck here forever..." He went back into the bar as the two horses and their passengers faded into the distance.

Wes nodded and was on his feet in no time. He was quick in pace as he passed up Aria. They had already gone through two carts and only needed to get through three more to get to the safe. Unfortunately, a ticket man was standing at the end of this cart that they were in. Wes smiled to himself as he threw an act together, and began to stumble about holding his stomach. He came closer and closer to the ticket man until he reached him.

"Oi! What in bloody 'ell is wrong wit' ya!?" The ticket man demanded as pushed Wes back a bit from the cart's door. Wes mumbled quietly, but loud enough for the man to hear, "I'm going to... be sick, partner.." Hearing this, the ticket man jumped over to the door and threw it open to allow Wes to 'throw up'. As Wes neared the door, he rose from his slumped stance and elbowed the man in his chin with a fluid motion upward. It was lights out for the ticket man.

No one saw the blow dealt, nor did they see Wes carry the man and throw him off the train (of course out into the desert and not in the tracks, it would make too much noise then). Wes looked back to Aria was just now caught up to him and smiled, "Come on now, there's no time to waste, eh?"

"Yeah," replied Violet, peering down at the map. "I think so."

She scratched her head for a moment, then turned the piece of paper sideways. "Uh, yeah, this looks right." Except it says there's supposed to be a river that we're supposed to be following, she thought with a frown, looking up again at the surrounding area. It was decidedly riverless.

She flipped the map upside down. Ah, that looks much better.

Except now the writing was all going in the wrong direction.

Grumbling under her breath, Violet turned it around again and tilted her head to one side. If you looked at it sideways and squinted a lot, it almost looked like they were headed in the right direction.

She gave a defeated sigh. "I think we were supposed to turn left at that last cactus," she said wearily. "Or maybe at the train station where we started. I don't know." She handed the map to Jean Louise. "Is this making any sense to you?"

OOC:XD Her sense of direction's only a little better than mine.

Jean Louise blinked and her hopeful smile slowly faded as she lost faith in her friend's skill of reading maps. She smiled weakly and took the map from her with a sigh. "You need to get out more, Violet," she said looking at the map. "Yeah, we definitely missed a turn... somewhere... Umm..." She looked around and then pointed in the direction they came. "Let's retrace our steps... Oo! Look, Violet! Birdies!" She pointed to a few vultures circling over her head and then urged Jesus to go back to that tricky cactus.

Violet sighed and followed Jean Louise as they made their way toward the point where they'd messed up. "Any idea how long this is gonna take?" she asked, ignoring the comment about needing to get out more. She had gotten out a lot... she'd just never needed to go far.

She rolled her eyes as her friend pointed out the vultures. "Do you even know where we're going?"

"Of course I do," Jean Louise said. "Oh.. umm..." She turned the map right-side up. "I forgot to turn it when you gave it to me." She rubbed her neck and giggled sheepishly. "Now then ummm... We're going to stop and ask for directions real quick." Jean Louise stopped Jesus and got off of the donkey and walked over until she was in front of him.

"Ok, Jesus, this is important to George and the others, so pay attention," she said holding the map out. "We're here," she pointed to a spot on a map that was basically in the middle of nowhere, "and we have to get here," she pointed to the spot George ahd made an 'X' over. "When we make it, we're gonna have lunch, and I'll give you my apple if you make it in good time. Okie dokie?" Jesus snorted and brayed, and Jean Louise must've taken that he answered in the affirmative because she the got back onto the donkey. Luckily for her, he wasn't as tall as a horse.

"Onward, Jesus," she said dramatically and the little donkey broke out into a quick trot.

"This is ridiculous," said Violet, as Ashe began to trot after the donkey. "What makes you think Jesus can lead us anywhere? He's a donkey, Jean Louise. He can't read a map! He doesn't even know what a map is! Listen, we're probably going in the wrong direction, I bet he just smells food or something, this is ridiculous!" She sped up a little, falling into pace beside the donkey. "This is insanity! Absolute insanity-- hey, look, a river!"

She blinked, and looked down at the donkey. "A... a river..." Shaking her head in disbelief--stupid donkey was probably just thirsty-- she continued alongside Jean Louise, but said nothing more.

"Yeah," Aria replied. They made their way to the back of the train without any more interruptions. Aria set her saddlebag down next to the safe, saying, "Cover me while I blast this loose... I'm gonna need it." She then set the appropriate explosives and charges. Supposedly, it would blast through the thick bolts connecting the safe to the wall with only a dull thump. But Aria knew from testing it that it was pure bs--while it did the job fast, well, and safely, it made a very loud bang.

"Cover your ears, and duck behind the doorframe!" Aria said, running for cover.

There was a noise not unlike a cannonshot, calling the attention of the Feds. They were closing in on all sides. But, at least the safe was loose, and no telegraph could get out. Now, Wes and Aria had to safely get out of the train.

---Meanwhile---
George strolled up the aisle to the telegraph operator's room. "Knock knock," he said.
The operator peeked out from behind the door. "Who's..."
He was interrupted by George, who rapped him sharply on the head with the butt of his pistol. West then closed, locked, and chained the door so that noone else could get in.

"One down," he said. He heard a loud noise, followed by footsteps heading towards the back. "Now we've gotta help Aria and Wes."

After the explosion, Wes charged towards the safe once more. Within the cart, many crates and hackney sacks lined the walls. Wes grabbed a large bag and emptied it of it's contents quickly, then began to push a crate diagonal of the open safe on one side, then another on the other side. After doing this, he wrapped the drawstrings of the sack he picked up around his arms so that it would hang off his back. Wes then grabbed Aria by her hand and moved her in between the crates he moved so that she was safe on both sides from any bullets. Wes stood not too far away with his back turned to her. Killing two birds with one stone, Aria could get the spoils in the bag on Wes' back and Wes could keep her safe with his firearms, as well as the crates shielding her from any harm.

"Hurry up and get the goods!" Wes yelled back to her. It wasn't intentional, but he had one hell of a ringing in the ears after that explosion. Bringing both his hands to his waist, he rose up the flaps of his vest and armed himself with his revolvers. Where Wes stood, he had each revolver pointed at an entrance to the cart. It would be easy pickings for now until Aria was finished loading the bag. Till then, Wes stayed alert on watching both doors with his eye, for his ears weren't of much help at the moment.

A Fed with a rifle ran in to Wes' right side, and Wes let loose wth a shot. Only one bullet was needed, for the man fell with a new orifice upon his forehead that spewed blood and smoke. 'George and Vincent better hold up their side of the bargain!' He thought to himself as he began to wonder how bad this might actually get.

OOC: Here's a small chart I made really quick for those who are confused on where Aria and Wes are position. [img:85f846cb53]http://i8.tinypic.com/25gceg7.jpg[/img:85f846cb53] W = Wes, A = Aria, S = Safe. The X-box's ( lol ) are the crates that Wes pushed.

---Aria & Wes---
He's awful grabby, Aria thought, but there was no time for bickering right now. She knelt down beside the safe, pulling it towards her so she could pry off the back. She poked her knife into a slot, and worked her fingers along the edges, and the back panel came right off. "Ka-ching!" This model's hard to get off the wall, but once you do, she thought, It's as good as open.

Aria loaded the money into Wes's sack, hoping something wouldn't rip a hole in the bottom. "It's in," she said. A few seconds later, upon spotting the dead Fed, she said, "And do try not to kill them--we get contracts from the Government on occasion."

Where's George and Vincent? Aria thought. They should be here by now...

---West & Vincent---

"We've gotta run and help the others," George said, picking up the pace. "Or we'll never get off this tr..."
A Fed that had hidden himself behind a seat jumped up and shot Wes in the right leg. "Agh," he said, wincing. He drew his gun and shot the man in both shoulders. The Fed fell to the ground, severely injured, but he'd be fine.
West kept moving. "Just a flesh wound," He said, with an attempted smile. "My bone's fine, and the bullet's not in my leg." He took off his red bandanna and bound it tight around his leg. "Haha, now you know why I carry this. I'll hafta sew myself up later, but this'll do for now."
He took off at a run again, despite the bleeding from the leg.

---Jim, Dani, & Melia---

Drooler sniffed the train tracks, and sighed.

"Hmm," Havoc said, "He seems to have lost the trail, but that's all right."

"Yeah, we'll just have to follow the tracks until we either find him, or pick up the trail again," Melia said.

"Right."

They set off alongside the tracks, and Drooler trotted beside them.

Dani had fallen asleep on Chocolate's neck, lulled by the heat and the rocking motion. Stahlflugel made sure to shield her from the sun with a blanket--she didn't want to be chewed out by West for letting his baby get burnt.

"We're almost there," Melia said to Dani. She patted the sleeping girl on the head good-naturedly. Dani mumbled something about evil teddy bears and Mormon people.

OOC:West: WHERE'S THE VAN??? I'M BLEEDING FROM THE LEG!!

Dani: Noo, not the teddy bears! NOOO! Save me, Mormon Lass!

"Oh, now you say don't kill them. That just ruins my fun." Wes said with a smirk. It was time to meet back up with George and Vincent, so Wes made his way towards where they should be. Just before he could reach the cart's door, another Fed ran in from where the first one came in. The Fed squeezed off a shot from his pistol, but missed Wes by only a hair as the bullet whipped by his shoulder. Wes spun about and fired, aiming lower than he did his first kill, and shot this man in the neck. The bullet lodged itself between his windpipe and jugular vein. It would indeed be a 'pain in the neck', but that's what he got for shooting at Wes to begin with. The chances of the man dying were unlikely, but he would most likely lose his voice, or develop an infection that would kill him later in his life. All this didn't matter to Wes, though he knew it was all possible. He was cold-hearted and didn't give a shit.

Again, Wes turned to the door and threw it open, only to face four Feds with pistols and rifles aimed at him. Quickly jumping behind a bench (which soon became consumed and chewed by bullets), Wes kept his head down and shot around the bench every now and then. It would draw off their fire for a moment, but it would just come back as quickly.

"A little help here!" He shouted to Aria. Even if they were Feds, a nice explosive would probably do the trick. Besides, living would be more important than dying right now.

Vincent looked at George with high esteem as the man continued on, despite his leg injury. He clearly had an extra helping of willpower when he was given his life. At any rate, he seemed to be a very dutiful and respectable man -- one of the few that Vincent had met on his journies thusfar. Though he wondered why they were robbing this particular train, he had offered to help out so help he should. He snapped out of his musings and caught up with West.

"Why don't I take the lead this time?" the young man offered, slipping carefully around George in the narrow hallway. He was about to open a door at the end of a car when he saw something through the window -- a small group of Federal Agents, from the looks of it, and armed to the teeth. They appeared to be aiming at something, and it didn't take a genius to figure out who they were shooting at. Since Wes was apparently quite pinned down, Vincent figured it was up to George and him to get rid of this group. He only hoped that the trigger-happy idiot wouldn't accidently shoot them in the crossfire. Glancing over his shoulder to make sure George was ready to back him up, Vincent drew his pistol with his left hand and shot one of the gun arm of the rifle-toting marshall, then quickly slipped it behind his back and adopted a look of fear and worry on his face as he rushed through the door.

"Oh marshalls! Thank heavens!" Vincent exclaimed as he moved towards the Federal agents. "There are people with -- oh my god, I'm sorry!" He interrupted himself by "accidentally" running into a second marshall and knocking them off the side of the car and out into the desert. Still muttering an apology and incomprehensible gibberish, he raised his pistol with a swiftness that made it almost imperceptable. He then used his free right hand to pull the hammer back slightly before letting it go and leaving the machinery do its work. The third marshall fell to the ground, clutching his the hand that had previously held his gun.

What Vincent missed when he assessed the situation, rather uncharacteristicly, was that there were actually four marshalls, not three.

"Oh cr..." George said as he saw the fourth marshal in the corner of his eye.

Aria covered her eyes, unable to look because she thought something horrible was about to happen.

George drew his gun at the same time as the marshal. It was a standoff. They stared intently at each other for several minutes, a deadly game of Chicken. Luckily, George shot first, hitting the man's gun. It flew out of his hand, and off the train. The man gave a cry, and ran away towards the front of the train, probably for backup.

"Okay," George panted, shaking a little from his nerve-wracking standoff, and from the loss of blood. "We've gotta go now before he gets his buddies."

Aria nodded, then looked worried. "George, you're hurt!"

"I'll ... be fine. We've gotta go!"

"Jesus really does save," Jean Louise clapped her hands and hugged the donkey. "He's so smart! Yes you are! Here's a good spot to eat, Violet. We'll settle here." She got down off the donkey and laid down the picnic blanket and began digging through the basket. "Here you go, smart boy." She tossed a carrot to Jesus, and he munched happily. "Oh, it's so lovely out here!! I wonder how the others are..."
