OOC:XD Me too! I don't even know how to get on a horse without stirrups... >< And Violet's supposed to. Hrm. I'll have to figure that out, then.

Violet frowned up at the horse, then at Vincent. "I think so," she said doubtfully. Her mother had taught her to ride a horse bareback, but she'd never payed much attention, and she'd never done it wearing a dress.

It took her two tries--and a hand from Vincent*-- but she managed to pull herself up, if not quite as gracefully as Vincent. Like Jean Louise, she had to sit sidesaddle-- her dress wouldn't allow her to ride properly, so she primly adjusted her skirt and decided to make do with it. There was nothing to hold on to but Vincent, so she did, reminding herself that it wasn't really awkward at all, since he didn't even like girls.

OOC:*Does this count as godmodding? If so, I apologize. >< I just didn't want to waste another few posts on something like this:

"Hey, gimme a hand."

"Okay."

*gets on horse*

>< Kind of a waste of time. Anyway, yeah... I don't know how tight you guys are on the whole godmodding thing, so... lemme know if there are ever any problems.

OOC:FYI-- I was told to get onto a horse without a saddle, you sorta do a running side-leap and grab the mane to help you get up. I know you're all like "Ow!" (I was too) but horses actually have little to no feeling in teh mane area. xD

Aria was glad for her split-dress with pantaloons underneath, because it meant no awkward sidesaddle-riding. She shook her reins one time, and her horse picked up its feet in a fast walk. She turned back to Wes. "You know, if we go any faster you're gonna have a tough time staying on without holding onto me." If you want to fall on your ass, that's your problem, she thought.

West poked his heels sharply into Jesus' barrel-like chest*. His boots had his old Army spurs on them, rounded, no spikes. He didn't want to hurt Jesus, after all, only to spur him on.

Aria led the group towards a canyon. They went through it, and, emerging on the other side, there was a town about a mile away, an oasis in the flat wasteland before them. "Ain't called Dusty Gulch for no reason," Aria laughed, booting her horse in the ribs*, making it gallop.

George followed, but he was lost in his own thoughts. He had a feeling that something was wrong, but he couldn't put his finger on exactly what.

-----A FEW WEEKS AGO. CA.-----
Dani's grandparents had come as soon as they got Sarah's doctor's telegraph, and had taken care of their daughter in law during her last days. They had also been taking care of Dani.

Friends and family sat in rows, looking at the casket that held Sarah West. Her friends and family took turns saying words about her, and then the casket was taken out and buried by a tombstone.

A man and woman that Mr. and Mrs. West hadn't noticed stepped forward as the crowd thinned. They were both dressed respectfully in black, he a black suit, she a black dress. "Mr. and Mrs. West, Dani," James Havoc Jr., Mythic, said, bowing. "We're genuinely sorry for your loss." His blue eyes showed he wasn't lying.

"Why is it only the good die young?" Melia Stahlflugel, Hephaestia, said, looking at the newly-covered grave.

"She'll be missed by everyone," Mrs. West said, "But now her suffering has ended."

"T-that's true," Dani sobbed. "M-mommy was in pain all the time. I'm glad she's in heaven, I just miss her."

"We appreciate that you came to pay your respects," Mr. West said, "But that's not why you're here, is it?"

Havoc smiled. "Yeah. We're here because Sarah wanted Dani to live with George."

Stahlflugel smiled, but it was a saddened smile. "Sarah became like family to us--Dani, too. We'll help in any way we can, starting with making sure that Dani and her dad are reunited."

James nodded. "Yes- I'll personally make sure she gets to her dad!"

Their mouths all dropped into an 'o' shape. Even Stahlflugel was surprised. "Sir...!"

"Hey, it's the least I can do for these folks." Besides, I was getting bored sitting aroung the Base of Operations randomly magicking things, he thought. Dad's still pissed at me because I can't make Erasers yet.

OOC:LOL PANTALOONS

*This does not hurt these animals, obviously (another thing I learned at camp...xD). They weigh hundreds of pounds and are very tough.

O FAK. I just realized I have like 1million+ charas in this rp I haven't done profiles for, especially Mythic... sorry...

Wes stayed silent, ignoring what Aria had to say, but that's when the horse began to pick up in it's pace. Wes felt himself leaning back slightly. "Err.."

'Guess I have no choice.' Wes thought to himself with an awkward expression on his face. Removing his grip from the saddle, he held onto Aria's waist and regained his balance. 'Just imagine your dancing... with a backwards lady.

Wes felt weird, it wasn't that he didn't like ladies, he did think Violet was attractive and Aria seemed to have the destructive taste he always had. Then again, Wes wasn't here to look or gain a damsel, but to complete the mission he was on. With this in mind, Wes' awkward thoughts vanished. Looking over at George he could tell that he was disturbed in some sense or another. Call it foresight or just a feeling, Wes would be ready to get rid of anything that would get in his way.

OOC: Wes: "Dancing dancing dancing dancing dancing...!! XD

Jean Louise looked around at the passing terrain with bright, excited eyes. George's sombrero shielded her from the sun as it beat down upon the band. She held onto George tighter as he urged Jesus to gallop after Aria. After a moment, she frowned. Through out the ride she felt that the doctor was becoming more and more uneasy. She certainly hoped it wan't on her account.

"Are you all right, George?" she asked just loud enough that he could hear her.

"Yeah," George said to Jean in a subdued tone, "But I have this feeling that someone else's in trouble..."

"We're here!" Aria said gleefully, unaware of her buddy's sadness. She got off her horse and went up to the ticket booth. "Uh... four for Salt Lake, please," she said in her cutest, most disarming voice, giving the guy in the ticket booth the right amount.

"Here you go, young lady!" He said, smiling.

Aria took the tickets and went back to the group. "Easy as pie," she said with a giggle.

"No worries," Jean Louise said confidently, giving George a one-armed hug. "I'm sure everyone's just fine."

She watched Aria get the tickets and applauded her with a smile. "Bravo, my dear," she cheered. "Encore."

Wes dismounted from the horse, then patted his arms and legs to rid the dust off his clothing. "So, this is the train, eh?" Wes asked as he looked at the locomotive. It wasn't a long train, but neither was it too short. "So, do we know where the 'you-know-what' is on it, or do we have to find it?"

Wes wiped away some sweat from his forehead with his hand as he spotted a few uniformed gentlemen boarding the train. They looked quite suspicious just by themselves. 'Must be the 'Feds' they were talking about...'

West handed his sombrero to Jean, and hugged her. "You better give that back later, you here?" He said, smiling. He then got off Jesus and followed Aria to the train.

Aria gave the tickets to the man at the front, who waved them in. "Bye!" Aria called to Violet and Jean Louise.

West turned to Wes and Vincent, whispering as silently as possible. "I think... it's two cars from the end. We have to sit a few cars up and wait about an hour. Then, it's go time."

-----Back to Mythic and Flugel-----
The funeral ended, and, despite their suspicions, the Wests let Dani go with James and Melia after seeing Sarah's will. It had been written six months before her death, and did not looks suspicious- and it clearly stated, "When I die, Dani will go to live with her father. Either Aria Giordino, or Melia Stahlflugel can take her to wherever he is."

So, James and Melia began their long trip to Wherever West Is, taking Dani with them.

"Do you even know where West is?" Stahlflugel said skeptically from upon her brown mare, Chocolate.

"Err, no," James said. "But! I telegraphed Dad to send a failed Eraser to help us."

"Failed?" Melia said. "Oh, so one of yours?"

"Shut up," He said, cheeks reddening. "I like him, even though, well, frankly, he's repulsive."

"Annd here it is," Melia said, observing something coming near. James' white horse's ears moved back, and its eyes widened with fear.

"Whoa now, Drooler won't hurt you," James said gently.

Drooler came closer and closer, finally skidding to a stop infront of Mythic, spraying dirt over everyone. He panted heavily, and scratched his ear with a metal hind leg. One eye rolled sideways, while the other looked at Mythic.

Mythic gave him a treat from his saddlebag, and he gobbled it up. James then gave Drooler something of West's to smell: one of his old bandannas. Drooler howled, the unearthly keen of the cyborg wolves known as Erasers. He took off at a fast pace, and the others followed on their horses.

"So we're following the funny dog to Daddy?" Dani said to Melia, who sat behind her.

"Yup," Melia said. "Drooler'll take us right to him."

OOC:LOL DROOLER = <3

He's a 'failure' because he's all happy and likes people. But he's useful for tracking people anyways

OOC:XD Nice. I want a dog like that! Or maybe a cyborg bird. Yeah, that'd be cool. Like a giant hawk or falcon or something that could rip peoples' arms off. XD

Violet watched them leave, then turned to Jean Louise. "You've got our picnic?" she asked, but didn't wait for an answer-- the basket was still tucked under her friend's arm, and that was really all the answer she needed. "Guess we may as well go, then."

She'd remained on the horse the whole time, not wanting to have to ask Vincent to help her get back on again. She could've ridden Aria's horse, she supposed, but she was already on this one. Besides, she liked it-- Him? Her? She didn't particularly feel like checking, so decided to mentally refer to it as an it-- and she was beginning to get used to riding without a saddle again. It was one of those things that doesn't go away completely, she supposed.

"Think they're gonna get caught?" she asked quietly, a worried frown on her face. She didn't relish the idea of waiting hours for them when they may never show up. "This West guy knows what he's doing, right?"

Jean Louise assured West that she would take good care of his hat, and waved a cheerful good-bye to everyone telling them to have a safe trip and not to get eaten by the Mormons. She blushed lightly as he embraced her and embraced him back. It had been a friendly hug, and she knew that, and she mentally scolded herself for blushing like a school girl. It was very un-prostitute-like.

"Of course he knows exactly what he's doing," Jean Louise said cheerfully, donning George's sombrero. She urged Jesus to go forward as Aria's horse followed them. "They'll be where they need to be in time. They're professionals. You have the map, right?"

OOC: man, I missed a lot!

@Chris: that's totally fine with me what you did. Generally you should ask, say, on IM or something, but I would've said yes anyway, so... yeah, no worries ^^

Vincent hopped off his horse when everyone stopped and give her a stern "Don't forget what I said" kind of look. Then, he looked up a Violet, smiling warmly. "Take good care of her, and she'll take good care of you." Vincent then nodded, brushing a bit of dust from his pants. "Not that you should be doing any sort of hard riding. Anyway, enjoy your picnic!"

"Well," he said as he turned to his partners in crime, "shall we board?"

To what Vincent said, Wes had already taken the saddlebags that contained the explosives and walked himself to the entrance of the train, and responded, "Don't mind if I do!" The man at the train cart's entrance saw Aria had the tickets, and allowed Wes in. Once inside, he looked left and right to check how full the cart's were; he was trying to get an idea of how much trouble they might be in if this mission were to fail. From the looks of it, one screw up and wanted posters would be posted from here to kingdom come.

Wes found a seat that would be pleasant for Aria and him. Since them two were together for getting the safe open to begin with, they'd probably need to be the one's closer to it, and would most definitely need to stick together. Taking George's advice, he at least gave a reasonable amount of space between the safe's cart, and the cart in which he and Aria would sit in. Making himself comfortable at a lobby table, Wes sat the explosives down carefully by his feet beneath the table and against the wall. Opening the window next to himself, Wes heard the man shout, "All aboard!"

"You guys coming or what?" Wes said as he gave them a 'don't tell me I'm on my own' look.

Aria's eyes widened as Wes put the saddlebags down beside them. "Oh goodness! I almost forgot that stuff! Thanks, Wes." She chuckled nervously. "We would certainly be in deep doo without it."

West sat down across the table from them. "Hmm, we sh'd try to occupy ourselves for a bit," he said. "There's really nothing else to do right now..."

"How bout' a game of Russian Roulette?" Wes said with a sinister grin and chuckle, only to have his expression fade. "...Sorry."

'Hmm... We have about 4 or 5 carts between us and the safe.' Wes was thinking out what actions he might have to take to reach the safe with Aria unharmed. Luckily George and Vincent would help. Besides, he rather Vincent be his shield from bullets before the Feds got to him. It didn't help though that Aria's leg was acting up. She might be a bit of an obstacle getting there, or getting off the train. 'Damn, this is going to be tougher than I thought...'

The whole time during Wes' thoughts and strategies, his expression was blank as he stared out the window.

"Of course." Violet pulled her gaze from the departing train and smiled at Jean Louise. "Let's go, then. No sense sticking around here, right?" She patted the horse on the head-- so it's a she, she thought vaguely, remembering Vincent's parting words. "C'mon, then, uh--" She turned back to Jean Louise. "Did he say what his horse's name was?"

It took her a moment to remember. Allie? Amber? "Oh, yeah... Ashe, I think it was. Right?" She patted the horse again. "C'mon, then, Ashe. Let's get going."

She gently nudged the mare into a slow trot, turning a little to make sure Jean Louise and Jesus were behind her, along with Aria's horse.
