"Puppets....?" he asked, confused. "Just what the hell do these Ogon symbols do when you step on one of them, anyhow? All this guy over here is telling us is 'Don't touch any part of them.'" |
Digithe Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 884 | Posted: Wed Aug 25, 2004 11:10 pm | Characters: All for this theme; By Digithe: This theme, Any theme As the group turned the corner, they found themself face-to-face with at least a dozen corpses, somehow animated and standing, as well as at least another dozen live humans. These humans, however, did not appear normal, to say the least. They were stricken with fear, shaking violently. Their eyes were wide and moved from side to side in a panic -- they were not in control of their own bodies.
Kenji pointed to this strange array of corpses and people who were nearly corpses with one hand, looking with an annoyed expression back at the young STN-J agent. "Those, are the puppets," he said in a frightening tone. "And those are what you would turn into if you came into contact with the sand and could not get it off in time." Even as he spoke, the small army began moving towards the group of hunters, brandishing small steak knives, forks, wooden planks, and other such items as weapons. |

"What the hell!" he said. He drew his gun but forced himself to stay calm, ready to fire if anything got too close. Of course, they were a little to close as it was, but that was beside the point. |

He cocked his neck from side to side each cock ending with a popping noise. He raised his gun and squeezed the trigger. The bullet crashed into the first approaching puppet's head, slowing shortly to pierce the skull. The puppet collapsed as orbo dripped out of the wound. His necklace began to glow. "There are more than just puppets close to us." |

"Well we'd better deal with these guys' first, right? he asked. "Don't want to get caught fighting two directions, do we?" As he spoke, another puppet went down with a bullet smashing through it's skull. |

One seemed to get by him un-noticed. It reached out to grab him. He pulled the trigger. All that was heard was a click. |
| Eshe Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 485 | Kayo stood behind the two men, holding her gun up with quivering hands. She watched as they fired round after round, taking down numerous puppets with ease. "H-hey!" she said, tapping Zyun on the shoulder. "I-I stepped in the sand.. Am-am I gonna end up like those?"
As Kayo spoke to Zyun, he missed a puppet and it close it on him quickly. The girl nearly froze when all she heard was the sound of an empty gun being fired. Without hesitation, she pulled Zyun back and jumped into the puppet, pushing her gun's barrell into the puppet's chest. Just as Zyun hit the floor behind Kayo, she screamed and pulled the trigger several times. Her chest covered with spots of orbo, Kayo fell back onto her rear, shaking, as she looked at the remains of the puppet that she had just killed. |

He reloaded again. He hoped no more would be missed. There were only a few left. He snapped off a couple of shots and left the remaining few to the others. He turned back to Kayo, "Yes, you will become one of those if we don't hurry." He looked up on top of the closest building and saw a dark figure looking down on them. His necklace was glowing far brighter than before. He grabbed Kayo and started running, pulling her behind him. He turned his head and shouted back, "The witch is far too close, I need to get her out of here!" |

Whilst his grudge against the STN-J made it difficult to decide to act, his devotion to duty drove him forward. His eyes flashed as he used his Craft to pick up a nearby puppet and launch it into one behind it. He turned his head towards the girl and raised his arm, turning his hand palm-up. His eyes flashed white again as his Craft powers pulled the girl from Zyun's grasp and carried her backwards through the air into his own.
"I'll take her a safe distance away," he yelled at the acting STN-J officer across from him. Turning his head towards the woman in his arms he said at a more regular volume, "Don't worry; I won't pull anything, and as long as we're on this mission I won't let you get too injured." Another flash in his eyes caused a swirl of wind to appear about his legs, kicking up his jacket tails as he lifted up off the ground. Once about three feet above the ground, he turned back to Kayo. "Hang on," he said mischeviously, allowing a slight grin. As soon as he finished speaking, his speed increased drastically. He flew straight up nearly one hundred feet, before flying backwards, away from the dark figure about another two hundred, landing atop a building much taller than the one they'd been in previously. He lowered slowly, his toes touching the ground first with his heels steadily lowering to the ground after them. Once settled upon the ground, the glow in his eyes fading and the swirl of wind about his feet disappated, he set the girl down. "Have a nice flight?" he said, still bearing the same grin from earlier. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | Tsuki spent a grand total of 8 seconds watching the S-class soar away with Kayo. He can FLY? he thought. Just great. Taking down a few more puppets, he ran off after Zyun, acknowledging the nearby presence of the the witch. |
| Sauder Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 131 | I wish I could fly.... He reached his skyline and put his key in the ignition, hearing the engine roar to life. He rolled down the window remembering that Tsuki had no car. "Get in, hurry," he called out to him, rolling the window back up. |
