"Agreed." he said, followed by agent #2's untimely appearance. Shadows motioned as he ran towards the hardline. He knew Kaze would be close behind them. Normally he'd make sure his teammate got out first, but there wasn't enough time, he couldn't hold the phone. He continued to sprint to the ringing phone, and upon reaching it, he put it to his ear. As he felt his mind returning to his body, he tilted his hand slightly, which caused the phone to return to the receiver without having Kaze put it back. It would save some time. |

Five. He was running as fast as he could, but he was still just barely staying away from the agent behind him. He faked moving to the left then spun to the right, dodging another shot, though he saw a bit of cloth fly off. Six. He saw his captain duck into a room and figured that must be the one. Leaping up, he kicked off the wall and into the room, but not before a shot rang out, and he felt a sharp pain in his right leg. Seven. Kaze limped quickly towards the phone, which was ringing once again. Though it was with great difficulty, he ignored the pain which seared through his entire body with each step he took. And with each step he took, the next one got harder. It seemed like an eternity before he reached the phone, only to turn around and see the agent, aiming his weapon right at Kaze's forhead. Kaze merely smiled and took the phone from the hook casually.
"You're firing blanks now," Kaze said with a grin as he put the phone to his ear. As he disappeared from the world, he saw the agent looking with confusion at his weapon, which was clearly out of ammunition. |

"There is no more we can do for Hawkes..." he said quietly. "But...I give in to the one wish he had." He recalled a memory from not to long ago, where Hawkes had insisted that a new member be recruited. Shadows had flatly refused, stating the risks and the fact that their crew was full anyway. That was the end of that issue, but to Shadows, to honor that wish seemed a last respect. "We shall free another mind from the Matrix as his replacement..." He disliked that word, no one would ever replace his friend. Substitute seemed just as cold to him. "We shall find his successor." he decided. "Be ready tomorrow." With that, he returned to his quarters and shut the door. OOC:ack..bad |

With a sigh she ran her hair through her knee-length cerulean hair, closing her eyes as she shook her head left and right. "That Shadows... I swear.." she sighed, sitting down in a leather chair to her right. Deciding it was in her best interest, she crossed her left leg over her right and put her hands behind her head, waiting for Kaze to return as well.

Her highlighter-green hair was crazy, and she had drooled all over her makeshift pillow and the right side of her face. She walked to her tiny, grungy bathroom and fixed things the best she could... given that she had strange looking red impressions on her face from the motor.
She walked out onto her 15th-floor balcony, sipping cold coffee. She looked down at her pitiful dirty grey tanktop, and black sweatpants. And then out at the rest of the world. Ugh! There was something green she couldn't identify floating in her coffee. "Same shit, different day," Mirror sighed, dumping her coffee out onto the street far below. Her focus then went to her fingernails, dirty with engine grime. "I can see the world reflected in your smile..." she sang as she picked at her nails. OOC:For more info, this chara was based on KAGAMI SOUMA~* annnnd I have no clue what happens next.
Annnd now she's outside the Matrix in the independent-peoples-city. Or, she could be in the Matrix. Depends. :D |

He was disconnected and sat up, breathing somewhat heavily. The young man leaned forward, placing his face in his hands as he tried to catch his breath. No matter how hard he trained, and no matter how many times he did it, fighting agents never got easier. Sometimes he felt as though it did -- every now and again, he was able to defeat an agent on his own, but never if there were more than two or three. Even then, he ended up running more often than not. He wished to train more at that very moment, but it was certainly not the time -- everyone needed to rest, he knew. Kaze also knew that "the One" was supposed to be the only person who could take on agents without problems, but couldn't help feeling the need to do so as well. The death of Hawkes was just one more reason.
However, his resolve was nevertheless strengthened. He knew that there was more strength to be had from the Matrix, more secrets he had not yet uncovered. He had heard rumors, but had not found proof for himself. Perhaps tomorrow would be the day. OOC: Post 5900!! Also, after playing Path of Neo... apparently some people *can* fight Agents, even if it's like one in a million. Also, the secret he speaks of is teleportation. I figure if the twins can do it... why can't anyone else? I'm hoping he can do this at some point in the RP |

"Had a tough time in the Matrix, huh?", she asked, smiling warmly as she took a seat next to the man. She put her hands on her knees, and thought quietly to herself for a moment before turning to Kaze. "I'm sorry about Hawkes. But I think this loss only proves how much more careful we all need to be. Here, have some of this." As she finished, Break handed Kaze a cup of hot coffee. A playfull grin on her face, she rose from her seat, her long strands of knee-length cerulean hair only leaving the chair after she had stepped a few feet away.
"I know you're probably very eager to get out and train, but today you need rest. I'll make sure you do." |

Shadows sat in his room, lying on his bed staring at the metallic ceiling. No matter how many times it happened, one could never get used to the death of a team member. And then they would just free another mind to die like his predecessor. Was there no end to the spiral of death, he wondered. Neo was supposed to be able to end it. Shadows prayed with all his heart that the legend of the one was true. |

Patting her pockets, she made sure she had her keys, cigarettes and lighter. Yeah, they were there. The elevator doors opened, and she stepped out into the lobby. She lit up while still in the lobby, causing several employees to get very angry. Mirror waved them off, and kicked open the front doors, emerging into the sun.
She walked the five blocks to her work, a car-repair shop. She reported in for duty and started tuning up a sedan, when suddenly she heard someone calling her name. Someone that wasn't her boss, or anyone she worked with. "Coming, coming," she muttered, sliding out from underneath the car. Standing there was a strange red-haired man in a suit she had never seen before. Mirror couldn't see his eyes, they were covered by slick black sunglasses. A rather wierd experience, looking at someone that wasn't looking back at you. Mirror lit another cigarette and took a long drawl. "So," she said between puffs, "What the Hell do you want?" The Agent stared back at her, expression blank and cold. "You, Mirror, are wanted for the crimes you have committed. You have successfully evaded us, but we have found you at last." The 's' in last was almost hissed. "What the fuck? I haven't done anything," Mirror nearly screamed in indignation, eyes widening. "I suggest you come with me," the Agent said, drawing a gun and aiming it at her. Mirror looked around. Her coworkers and boss had either left for lunch break, or were too scaraed to intercede. Or maybe they just didn't care. Anyways, it seemed Mirror would have to fend for herself. Before her mind even registered what her body was doing, she was off onto the street running as fast as possible. She spit out her cigarrette, and fled for her life. Mirror didn't know it at the moment, but the Agent that threatened her wasn't far behind. |

He took a sniff of the vaguely familiar liquid, and surprise instantly covered his face. He brought the drink to his lips and sipped gingerly, trying it out and making sure that his imagination wasn't running away with him.
"Coffee?!" the man said incredulously. His instantly hushed his voice before continuing. "Where did you manage to get this?" OOC: crap, but maybe it'll get this place moving again ^^; |

"Savor it for now, because I doubt I'll be able to get a hold of anymore for a while. But in any case.. it seems there's another that needs our help.. Someone we need to pull out." The woman finished up her coffee and sighed. "Of course, whether we do it or not is up to our lovely captain.", she finished with a smirk.

Her lungs felt like they were on fire, and she had to force her legs to resist the pavement. It felt like any second, they would collapse, and she would pitch headfirst onto the pavement. But she kept running, short green hair streaking out behind.
She feared the strange man chasing her for a unexplainable reason, but it was so strong and convincing it pushed her onwards. Past the crowds, cars, mailboxes, morea nd more skyscrapers... Mirror skidded to a halt in front of a skyscraper that felt right. For what, again, she didn't know. Luck, destiny, fate, whatever, pointed in bright red arrows to this place. So, she went through the revolving door, and into the elevator, bound for the top. "Goddamn, I must be the craziest fool on the planet, relying this much on feelings." She pressed the 'door close' button, and then the 'roof' button, before calming down and catching her breath. OOC:I can write incredible amounts about absolutely nothing!!!! xDDD |

Shadows walked out of his room and went back to the cockpit of his ship. As soon as he walked in, Server yelled at him from across the room. "Shadows, we got a red pill emergency!" she said, her hands flying across the keyboard. "She's got agents on her tail and closing fast." "Damnit." Shadows said, going to the console. He picked up the microphone for the intercom. "Attention crew members! Report to the bridge, we got a red pill in some deep shit. Now move like you got a purpose!" He put the microphone back down. He pulled down one of the overheads and then started getting the hacking equipment ready for their rescue mission." |

It was a long way up, and she was halfway through the song when she finally reached the roof. The doors slid open, and something told her to duck. She hit the floor of the elevator hard, and just in time. A heavy stream of bullets beat divots into the back of the elevator box where she had been not two seconds before.
"HOLY SHIT," she exclaimed, scurrying out of the elevator to take cover behind a pile of boxes in the middle of the roof. From the middle of her makeshift fortress, she looked around at the surrounding rooftops. "I'm fucked," she muttered, shaking with the laugh of a woman with a few screws loose. There were way too many agents for her to take on alone and unarmed as she was. "I am so fucked," she repeated in her distress. Suddenly, a hand shot out towards her through one of the holes in her box-pile. |

Nenshoukaze was calmly meditating underneath a massive waterfall. He sat atop a large rock, worn smooth after thousands of years' worth of water pounding it into submission. The same water drenched the young man and his simple outfit, but the water was reasonably warm, as was the air. Coupled with the cheerful chirping of the birds, it was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Were he to open his eyes, Nenshoukaze would be greated by the sort of sight that can rarely be found anymore -- an almost endless sea of green grass and grey rocks, with small villages dotting the landscape only every thirty miles or so. The sky was the purest blue, with only a handful of puffy white clouds strewn about the sky. This was bliss. Nenshoukaze could feel his spirit reaching out into the world about him, seeking truth, probing for answers. In his mind he was doing a million things at once -- dancing across the mountains, training atop trees, racing the birds -- and yet still his thoughts were clear. This was the beginning of his morning routine: an hour of meditation, starting bright and early with the sun. Even when he was still in the Matrix he did this, though of course without the mountains and the waterfall. He was just about to finish when he heard something awful. "Of all the..." Nenshoukaze began to say angrilly. It was a cellphone ring, and though he was relatively fond of the tune he hated to hear it go off while he was meditating. He stood up reluctantly, taking one graceful leap from his rock over to the shore. Grabbing the towel he'd left there, he quickly dried off his arms and torso, draping the damp towel about his neck before picking up the cell-phone that had laid on top of it. "Yeah, what's up? I was meditating ya know," said the young man, his voice clearly betraying his irritation. "I know," responded Server from the other end of the line. "But we've got a red-pill emergency, and Shadows says we're goin' in. I'm pulling you into the construct now. What shall I load for you, Ace?" "Agents?" "...Yes." "Then I'll be wanting my straightsword, and two pistols -- preferably high-caliber, and preferably with as many rounds per reload as possible." Kaze put his hand to his chin in thought for a moment as the beautiful scene about him faded to white. "You'd better give me the katana as well, just in case." OOC: CURAGA! PHOENIX DOWN! ANYTHING! AHHH!!!!! |
