Quickly, he leaned around the edge of the box and fired a few more shots. One of the SWAT members fell to the ground and the others retreated a short distance. Shadows phone rang.
"How's it look, Server?" he asked, reloading his gun with one hand. "Not good. Ice and Modem are pinned up on the second floor, Kaze's making his way through to them. Hawkeye's just down the corridor from you, but he got hit bad. He doesn't have long. The other SWAT are closing in on him." "Any agents?" "No, but you never know. The hardline's still intact, second floor, just out of Ice and Modem's reach. Kaze can get them out, you try to get Hawkeye." "Alright," Shadows said, "Call Kaze and give him the scoop. Tell him I'll be up once I can get Hawkeye." He closed his phone and fired a few more rounds at the SWAT. |

There was a generic ringing from Kaze's pocket, his cell phone. He leapt from his hiding spot, firing one shot from each of his revolvers with pinpoint accuracy, nailing two swat members in the throat, where there was no armor. As he rolled behind a large metal crate, he holstered his pistols and took a mental inventory of each. Eight rounds total in each, two shots total from each fired. He had twelve rounds left with his current weapons, and he knew he had two more in his coat, plus some loose bullets. He never much cared for pistols, and greatly preferred to use a sword -- one of his swords, a katana, was at his waist on the left side, a few inches above the holster. Kaze went over his munitions inventory again as he reached into his pocket for his cell phone. "Talk to me," he said into the reciever. "Hey ace, Ice and Modem are pinned ahead of you," came the voice of Server from the phone. "Just beyond them is the hardline, you should be able to get them out. Captain's gettin' Hawkeye, he should be right with you." "Roger, call me if anything changes." Kaze tossed the phone back into his pocket and unsheathed his katana. With his pistol in his left hand, he leapt from behind the crates, towards the closest guard. Kaze decapitated the guard in one swift stroke as he aimed and fired at the other soldier in his way. He landed, then ran ahead, cocking back the hammer of his pistol as he ran forwards. |

He sprinted down the hall and turned a corner to see 4 SWAT agents closing in on one point. It had to be Hawkeye. Shadows pulled the collapsable staff from his coat and lept into the small group. The center two he knocked to the ground and held his staff out and then pressed a button on the short tube he held in his hand. The spring release un-collapsed the pole to hit the other two on either side. He ran forward to his fallen comrade. He stopped as he saw that Hawkeye was already dead. He kneeled next to his friend for a moment. Then he realized that the others needed his help. He couldn't let them die too. He collapsed his staff and ran for the stairs. |

They were pinned down by heavy fire by about eight, maybe nine SWAT. Narrowly dodging a bullet, he leapt and slid on the ground next to Modem, planting his boots in the ground to stop. Kaze looked at her with a grin, sensing that he was needed and that his presence was greatly appreciated, if for no other reason than an extra set of firearms.
This group was more tricky; the enemies were hiding behind walls and bullet-proof shields, so aiming was much more difficult. Melee was out of the question for the moment; there were far too many bullets flying through the air to dodge. Kaze quickly through together a plan in his mind. The first thing that had to be done was to weaken the numbers a bit, especially the ones further back. After that, timing was everything. Kaze closed his eyes, listening carefully to the shots being fired from the SWAT, isolating one spot and counting, waiting for the timing. After almost a minute, he had it. Each clip had 32 shots, and the trained SWAT needed only about five seconds to reload, but it was enough. Now, he just had to wait for the right timing, and lessen the amount of crossfire... OOC: here's his plan; I'll let you post in case you wanted to introduce an agent... |

Knowing Kaze, as soon as there was a break, he would fire. Shadows checked his gun and waited too. The fire ceased, and Shadows leaned around the corner of his pillar and fired once, twice, three times before the SWAT noticed him. He fired one more shot and as the 4 fell, he ducked back behind the pillar as more shots were fired, but this time at him. But the SWAT had made a mistake...a glaring error. They had turned their backs on Kaze, Ice, and Modem. They wouldn't even know what hit them. |

He waited three more seconds, and the firing lessened; three of the remaining five were reloading. Nenshoukaze leapt up onto the wall and ran along it towards the closest SWAT, firing with his pistol at the ones further away. Three shots were fired rapidly; two soldiers fell. In that same instant, Nenshoukaze reached his target and decapitated him. Moving quickly, he ducked out of the way to allow his teammates to fell another guard; one remained now.
Two shots left in this one, six in the other, he reminded himself. |

"Shit!" he swore, for the SWAT had become an agent. The agent cracked it's knuckles. Putting away his gun and drawing his staff, Shadows shouted to his crew. "Get out of here!" he yelled. "Now!" |

Kaze swore in Chinese under his breath as he saw the agent materialize from the SWAT member. The day just got worse. "Ice! Modem!" he shouted, "Fall back and give cover fire! We'll try to push him back, then you two get out. We'll go when we hear our cells rining to say you got out!" He rotated his wrist about as he holstered his pistol, swinging the sword in a tight circle to warm up his arm. He glanced back at his captain, giving an expression that seemed to say without words "I'll go in first." He knew that Shadows would object, but he did it anyway. With intense speed, Kaze ran towards the agent at an oblique angle, dodging the bullets as he moved into melee range. When he was close enough, he made a wide slash to the agent's side, which was dodged easily. OOC: i'll let you do stuff |

Dropping his now empty gun, he began to swing his staff at the agent, who dodged it twice, and then swung his fist, which Shadows barely dodged. He spun the staff once, and then continued. |

So far, this looked futile. Kaze decided some change was in order, and so though he continued his pattern of slashing, he quickly took his left hand off the sword and pulled out his pistol, unloading a round into the agent.
OOC: um... i'll let you say if it hit or not ;) |

If it bothered him, though, he hardly showed it. But there was a difference in his speed. He seemed to have slowed down, almost to a half of his former agility.
Shadows saw his chance. He turned up the power as he continued his rapid fast attacks, nodded briefly at Kaze in approval. |

She rubbed her forehead, wiping away her azure bangs as she massaged her temples. "Augh.. jeez.." she mumbled. The girl stood up, feeling her long tresses tickle the backs of her thighs. After adjusting her tanktop, Break walked out of her room, clad in merely a thin camisol and her under wear. "Kaze..? Shadows...?" she called out; no answer. With a shrug she walked into Server's room, peeking over the moniters. Ah..., she thought. They're in the Matrix....
OOC:hurry up and get out or get me in so i can dos omething XD |

Kaze allowed himself a slight grin, glad his actions were acceptable. He momentarily felt that he was reduced to a dog, doing things to please his captain, but thought better. He was working for the greater cause of the resistance, and if his actions meant the survival of any teammate, captain or no, it was a good thing. It was good that he put away his thoughts, as just then a thick back hand fromt he agent came his way. He was in the middle of a slash at the time, and was only barely able to dodge the brunt of the attack. It wasn't, however, enough. The agent's last knuckle made contact with the side of Kaze's forhead, knocking him back the three yards into to the wall, where he fell to a heap on the floor. Kaze took off his sunglasses and quickly wiped the blood from his brow, using his sword like a cane to help himself back up. Kaze cursed himself for his consentration faultering like that, but went back on the assault once again, with more fury than before. He now felt that, with his and Shadows' attacks combined, the agent was slowly being overwhelmed. He did not let himself grow overconfident however, as that was the path to death and defeat. |
| Asai Joined: 24 Aug 2003 Posts: 638 | The agent must have sensed Kaze's fury before the slashes came, because he began to fight slightly more defensively. This was, however, still powerful enough to do serious damage to either one of the rebels if they were hit.
"You are still only human." it said with a flat, emotionless tone. Shadows was fighting his hardest, which was a lot, and still doing next to nothing. Besides which, he had to spend a lot of time avoiding the agent's attacks in the meantime, which, even though none hit, they missed by less than an inch, which caused bruises anyway because of the force behind the blows. Shadows was surprised that Kaze was able to get back up after the last blow hit to him, but he was, after all, one of the most dangerous threats to the system. The closest to ever making the first jump, he was, more than 3/4 of the way across before he fell. He and Shadows were freed relatively close to each other timewise. Their ship captain was amazed at their progress. But this was not the time to reminesce. Shadows continued this dodge and hit routine with the agent, no openings appearing yet. But then, remembering the death of Hawkeye, his own fury doubled. It was a dangerous move, liable to death or capture if it failed. The agent was now entirely defensive against the two, but he made one slip, one tiny mistake. That mistake would cost him. He mis-timed the slap on Shadows staff, and didn't deflect it in time. Instead, the staff continued to whip across his face, smacking his head to one side. His face was turned completely away from Kaze. However, the agent still managed to hit one fist into the side of Shadows face. He flew towards the far wall and hoped the Kaze took his shot and killed this thing for good. |

Then, almost too late, Kaze saw what his captain was trying to show him -- it was an opening. Perhaps a once in a lifetime oppourtunity when fighting an agent. Without even thinking about it, Kaze took it. He slashed quickly and with great strength at the agent's neck, and enjoyed the feeling he got when his blade sliced through his opponent's flesh like a lot of paper. The agent's body twitched and glowed as it fell to the ground, returning to its original form as an ordinary SWAT. He sheathed his sword as he ran to Shadows, offering him his hand.
"C'mon," he said quickly, though with a very present element of calm in his voice. "Let's get out of here before another one of those guys gets back!" Almost as he said those words, the sound of a gunshot rang through the air as an agent rounded the corner on the far end of the hallway. "Hurry, we're almost out!" |
