Important information about Amra: All races on this planet, unlike humans, do not have an appendix. Instead, their vestigial organ is a second, clear eyelid. They live only twice as long as humans, quite short when compared to some other humanoids that can live for vast amounts of time. However, they all received the gift of much tougher-than-usual skin and sturdier bones than almost any other humanoid. Individual race traits: Sindhians can do magic, but only in one area relating to the natural elements, which comes to them at adulthood. However, sometimes the magic will wait longer to present itself if it is very powerful. They have tan skin and white hair, and are usually very tall, from 6'6"-6'11" on average. Zorians tend to be smarter than other races, and very inventive, so there is the most technology in their country. They have black, brown, or dark gray hair, light-colored eyes, and very pale skin. They stand at average height (5'5"-5'10"). Lekhians are short, with wildly colored hair, and can transform into any animal they wish. Most tend to pick a favorite and stick with it. When they are young, sometimes they can have a hard time controlling their transforming. Palauans are stockily built, with darker skin than Sindhians and black hair. They live in a tropical climate, so they hate the cold. They are the strongest of all the races, able to lift several times their own body weight, and punch through steel plating. They stand at a little shorter than average height. How Amra Fell To the Empire: Quite simply, they had not fought for thousands of years, and all of their military technology was extremely outdated. Pretty much knives at a gunfight. Even when all of the nations joined together to fight, it was too little, too late. The people of Amra have been enslaved to exploit their own planet's abundant natural resources, whether planting and harvesting crops, or down in the hellish mines. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Melia (Lia) Yasuna Planet/Race: Amra/Sindhian Age: 20 human years (40 Amran years) Magic: Creating and manipulating fire. Appearance: Melia has white hair and tan skin, like all Sindh, and has dark red eyes. She is about 5'10" (SUPER short for a Sindhian), and has a pear-shaped build. When working, she wears a practical outfit of a tanktop and overalls (often with the top hanging down) and a pair of steel-toed boots. Her preferred outfit is one that resembles a Sindhian tribal outfit. It is a white robe-dress with a black belt and red vest-coat, and sandals. She has a black line tattoo of a flower on the left side of her chest right under her collarbone. It is the Century Cactus Flower, or Desert Rose. It has special significance to her because it is the Yasuna Family Crest, and her namesake (in Sindh, it's Mylia: Mya meaning Eternal, and Lia meaning Rose). Personality: Melia is definitely an extrovert, loving parties and drinking. She can be too brash or loud, often causing her to have foot-in-mouth moments. She enjoys competition, and very often, acts way before she thinks. Melia is slow to accept new friends or allies, but once she does, she will do whatever she can to protect them. It goes without saying that she is fiercely loyal to her family and planet. Kamil Yasuna Planet/Race: Amra/Sindhian Age: 28 human years (56 Amran years) Magic: Manipulation of earth and metal, however, the more refined the material, the more difficult it is for him to mess with. Also, he cannot levitate or lift with magic more than what a normal Sindhian could with their arms. Appearance: Kamil has long, white hair that he keeps back in a ponytail, tan skin, and yellowish-orange eyes. He is very tall for a human (6'6"... actually almost short for a Sindhian), and quite muscular from spending at least two hours a day working out. He has heavy brows and a square jaw, but they look attractive on him. Wears a white tank top over dark gray cargo pants. Wears standard-issue black boots. Kamil lost his right arm at the elbow seven years ago. He wraps it up in white bandages. He has a bar code tattooed under his left eye, and underneath, the number 11-02, signifying he was the 2nd person brought to work in Mine Eleven. Personality: Somewhat shy and self-depreciating, and of much fewer words than his sister, especially with people he doesn't know well. Very level-headed and open-minded, the opposite of his sister. However, he is like his sister in the fact that he will fight very fiercely for what he loves. Kamil is very smart, and has a near-photographic memory. He still believes strongly in the Sindhian traditional principles, such as non-violence, compassion, truth and love above all... he is one of the very few left after the takeover that does. The Siblings' History: Melia and Kamil had a fairly normal childhood (well, other than being royalty). However, this all came to a sudden end three years ago, when the Empire ships arrived. Melia's father knew that in order to protect his family, they had to get away before the iron fist of the Emperor tightened around Amra. The king told Melia and her mother to escape, and tried to get Kamil to go with them, but he would not, insisting that he would stay behind to fight. So, despite the Queen and Melia wanting to stay, they boarded the only completed space ship (Sindhians were still developing their first spaceships at that time) and ran the blockade. Back on the planet, Kamil and the King fought bravely for months straight, continuing even as each country around them fell. Sindh was the very last to fall. In front of a large congregation of Sindhians forced to watch, including Kamil, the King was beheaded, thus ending millennia of peaceful rule and throwing the planet into chaos and slavery. Kamil was sent to the mines to work. One year later, in the horrific collapse of Mine Eleven, he was trapped in the depths, arm stuck underneath a rock and far from food, water, or fresh air. Somehow, he got his own arm off, and clawed his way to freedom. He emerged into the world three days later, mostly dead, dripping blood, and caked with soot. He woke up in a hospital bed many days later, all fixed up, with a certain General of the Tiershaa staring him in the face. She gave him an offer he literally could not refuse: "You will work for us, Kamil Yasuna, or I am afraid you must die. People with only one arm aren't very efficient mine workers." He accepted, knowing that the offer would allow him to keep his life and gain access to valuable resources. After that, he became a consultant to the Tiershaa on running Amra and its mines, providing them with information only an Amran would know. As for Melia, the experimental spaceship they just barely managed to escape in crashed into space debris and the pilot and her mother died. Luckily, this was near a merchant trading base on an asteroid. Seeing the explosion, they checked for survivors and found her. She spent her time there learning various trades, but mostly space-ship maintenance. She even got good enough to charge money. When she heard the news about Amra falling, she was devastated, even more so when she heard about the mine collapses. Sure that Kamil is dead just like her father, she is bent on revenge. |
