Race: Shinigami/Quincy Rank: Sixth Squad Captain Physical Description: Nezei is somewhat of a tall man, he stands at 5' 11" and has jet black hair that falls around halfway down his back. However, he normally keeps it in a neat ponytail. His eyes are a radiant blue, and he also wears thin-framed glasses. His overall build is slight, and his captain's cloak seems a little too big for him. His cloak has full length sleeves that end past his hands, with the kanji for "six" on the back. All these factors make him seem like a weakling to people like the warlike 11th squad. Don't be fooled, though, his power is greatly belied by his small frame. His sword is sheathed at his waist, for easy reach. His is left handed. History: Nezei was born in North Rukongai, 17th District to a generally normal family. He had two sisters, one younger and one older, and an older brother. He grew up loved by his parents and his friends from the district, and even by his siblings (as often as siblings aren't killing each other, that is). All of his siblings learned that they possessed high levels of reiatsu at a young age, mostly likely due to the fact that their father was a soul born as a Quincy in the real world, who died an early death (as many Quincy do) and was sent on to Soul Society. He and his brother and sisters all learned how to absorb spirit particles from the surrounding area and harness their power by the time they were teenagers. After their parents died, they all went to Seireitei to study and train as Shinigami. None of them were ever told the history of the Quincy and Shinigami until they were taught it by the school, so they did their best to not demonstrate their Quincy heritage, fearing rejection. They all made it through the institute, passing with flying colors. Though they were seperated into different divisions, each remained close to the others, never forgetting their old training from their father and from the new training they received at the school. Each of them acheive high rank in their squads: his brother was the 3rd seated officer in the 10th squad, his older sister the 7th squad's lieutenant and he and his younger sister rose to prominence in the squad, with him as lieutenant and her as 4th seat. Things seemed pretty normal, routines and drills carried out as ordered, until one day all hell broke loose. A band of Huge Hollows somehow managed to breached the walls of Seireitei from all directions and began to attack and destroy the town. Every unit was called in to fight, and the four Rekuzan children lead formations into battle. For a time, it seemed as though the Hollows were being driven back. However, something went horribly wrong. One of the Hollows got a sudden boost of reiatsu and proceeded to ravage the 10th and 7th squads patrols and killed Nezei's siblings, taking special care to eat them slowly. For Nezei, this was something he had never dealt with before. The pain of losing his older siblings, whom he'd known for his entire life, enraged him beyond sanity. He, as a lieutenant, unleashed a bankai he didn't even know he had and shredded the hollows. At the other gates, similar attacks occured and Captains had to be called into stem the attack. It was a disaster for the Shinigami. When the hollows were vanquished, nearly 1000 shinigami had been eaten or killed. No one understood how this had happened. The 6th squad captain had taken serious injuries during the battle and chose that moment to retire and try to live with his remaining limbs. Six of the captains who had witnessed Nezei destroy the hollows at his gate requested that he become the new captain. Nezei accepted this new rank and began to train with his newly discovered ability until he fully understood how to control it and even achieved a second stage for it. He promoted his last remaining sibling to 3rd seat and his 3rd seat to his new lieutenant. Things seemed to eventually stabilize, but nothing was ever the same for Nezei. His personality had changed from being a happy go lucky and energetic man to what could be described as a cold and taciturn shell. The pain of his losses haunts him to this very day, though he doesn't say enough to convey that fact. Weapon: Like all Shinigami, Nezei wields a zanpakutou. His is named Fennikusu Kagemaru (Great Phoenix of Shadow). It's initial release command is "Shoushi ni tobe, Fennikusu Kagemaru" (Fly at midnight, Great Phoenix of Shadow). It turns his katana into a white and blue bow, like his ancestors the Quincy do. He can still draw power into it from the surrounding spirit particles. His Bankai has two forms. The first form is released by the command "Bankai: Yuuan Isei, Teikan; Fennikusu Kagemaru" (Dark and Secluded Powers, Clear Vision: Great Phoenix of Shadow). It transforms the bow into two swords: a longsword with a cross-shaped hilt, much like his unreleased sword, and a nagakatana with a hilt shaped like the Quincy star. Both swords are blue steel with a while handle. The long sword has a clear 3/4 blood channel, which turns light blue as it charges reiatsu. When the blood channel fills, Nezei can sheath the longsword in blue flame, increasing its destructive capacities. In his bankai form, Nezei sprouts a pair of wings made fully of reiatsu which he can use to fly. His bankai increases his rate of the absorbtion of spirit particles and his overall reiatsu capacity. The spirit of his sword is a phoenix. In his compressed bankai, the hilts of his swords fuse together and form a monsterous bladed bow. It fires several reiatsu arrows at a time and can be used as a slashing weapon. Compressing his bankai increases his speed and his reiatsu to extreme levels and has only been needed twice since his gaining it. Intresting Trivia: Nezei's hair is tied back with a dark black ribbon given to him by his older sister when they were still in the Shinigami institute. He used to be made fun of for it, until his sister was killed and others respected its importance to him. Nezei can use both Shinigami techniques and Quincy ones. This gives him somewhat of an edge over many hollows or even other shinigami. Nezei despises Kurotsuchi Mayuri for really no better reason than he creeps him out. Nezei is the only person who, while highly amused, doesn't actually laugh at the very womanly Liang Jidat. OOC:so that's it. Jesus, that took a while to type. |

Nezei's new lieutenant and his sister(seated third) were displaced by Yamato Narasumi, who defeated the previous lieutenant to earn his place in 6th squad. Nezei's sister then defeated the former lieutenant as well, regained her spot as third seated officer. |
