It's a little longish. I'm gonna go ahead and combine their histories, if that's not a problem. They're the same up to a certain point, anyway, so there's no sense in retyping it. [/color:d2a384be93]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/color:d2a384be93]
Name:
Leah Goulde
Alias:
Sibyl
Age:
17 yrs
Occupation:
Student at Xavier’s Academy
Alliance:
X-Men
Powers:
Leah’s main abilities are clairvoyance and precognition, but she can’t tell one from the other, so she has no way of knowing whether a particular vision is of the present or the future. They occur most frequently when she’s in an emotional state””the stronger the emotion, the stronger the vision””which makes them nearly impossible to predict or control.
The visions are usually of t he people closest to her, since she’s more attuned to them. Sometimes, she’ll unknowingly reach out and touch the mind of some random passer-by, but this is rare and the visions that result from this temporary “imprint” on her subconscious are rarely strong or clear.
Leah also uses both her outer eyes and her inner eye at once, meaning that she remains entirely conscious of her surroundings during a vision. She’s even capable of carrying on intelligent conversations while seeing things in her mind, though her concentration is often noticeably split between the two.
She also possesses a very limited telekinetic ability. It, too, is controlled by her emotions, but only the most extreme. During these emotional moments, it’s as though a door opens in her mind and she’s able to mentally push objects around. Still, the effects are rarely large-scale; the part of her mind that controls the telekinesis is like a muscle out of use””useable, but not terribly strong.
Description:
Leah is not so much shy as simply lacking in social skills. She’s likeable, to be sure, but she’s not much good in on-the-spot situations, and it’s not difficult to manipulate her or push her around. She has few close friends, despite her numerous acquaintances, but loneliness is so much a fact of her existence that she no longer really feels it.
She enjoys classical music and loves libraries. Both of these are for the same reason: the sense of calm that they exude means less emotion, which means fewer visions. This has led her to feel that nothing bad can happen in a library, or while classical music is playing, and so she can’t help but be drawn to both.
Although Leah is one of the rare people who possess an inherent goodness, she has little confidence in it. Lately, she’s been having visions of what appears to be herself-- lying, stealing, and intentionally harming others. Evil, in Leah's definition of the word. Believing this to be a vision of the future, she’s basically resigned herself to her impending fall from goodness, and only hopes that she has a while yet before it happens.
This “fall” scares her, because she’s always been one to hold tightly to rules. This means she’s a bit naive, but it also means that she has a strong sense of honor. She would never do anything low or underhanded, and she expects others to follow the same code of conduct, despite the numerous disappointments she’s faced in the past. Authority is there to be listened to, in her mind, and she hates to get into trouble.
Leah’s hair””usually kept in two neat pigtails””is the color of flame, and her eyes are a medium-dark shade of brown. She’s pretty, in a very tidy, organized sort of way, but she’s too soft-spoken and she comes off as being too timid to be entirely approachable. She’s not physically strong, but not entirely weak, either; she lies somewhere in the middle. A long, shiny burn mark runs up her left forearm, and she usually wears long sleeves, regardless of the weather, in an attempt to hide this. Her stature is short and her build is slender, and she radiates a sort of calm that comes from keeping her emotions tightly bottled up.
Name:
Lulu Goulde
Alias:
Psi
Age:
17 yrs
Occupation:
New student at Xavier’s Academy
Alliance:
Herself, and anyone who can help her at the moment
Powers:
Lulu is a very powerful telekinetic. She learned to control this
power long ago, and the only real room for improvement is in her range and endurance. Meditation with the aim of strengthening her mind has become a part of her daily routine. With greater mental power, she believes, she will be able to push the effects of her powers farther and sustain them longer.
She also has a limited precognition and clairvoyance, though they are indistinguishable from one another and neither is very powerful. She can control it enough to “block” the visions, so that they don’t occur at inopportune times, but she cannot force herself to see, and the visions that do come are rare and extremely blurry, at best.
Description:
A real partier, Lulu is fun and easygoing, and she holds to the belief that “music is the spice of life.” Of course, it goes without saying that the music must be spicy for this to apply””anything with a beat will do, but she views most classical music as a boring waste of potential. She doesn’t actually play an instrument of any kind, but she’ll dance to anything possible, and she’s quite good at it.
When it comes to other people, she’s friendly but cautious, having grown up with what some might consider to be low society. She has a strange sort of charisma that draws people to her, and she certainly doesn’t mind the company. She doesn’t always remain loyal to this company, however. She has few qualms about ditching people who are both useless and annoying, and she views life as a bit of a contest: it’s her against the world, and sometimes people will help her, but nobody can stay on her side forever. Not that she’s bitter; she just sees and accepts this as a fact of life.
It depends on who you ask, but Lulu could be described as either amusingly mischievous or downright evil. She does have a wide selfish streak and few moral principles, and will take anything she needs from anyone who happens to have it. If she can get her hands on something she doesn’t need, she’ll take that, too. She thirsts for wealth and power””thus, the “evil” part””not so much to cause others pain as to ensure her own security. (She has, however, become extremely desensitized to the pain of others, and doesn't mind inflicting it to get what she wants, if there's no easier alternative.) Again, it’s all a contest: what she has now won’t last her forever, so having more couldn’t possibly hurt… and if someone else is dumb enough to give her a chance to take it, then why not take it?
The resemblance between Lulu and her sister caused much confusion while they were still living together. At the moment, the only physical difference is that Lulu keeps her hair short, just above shoulder length. She also has a small scar in her left shoulder, a few inches above her heart; this, however, is not usually visible. Once you talk to her, it’s near impossible to confuse her with Leah. She emanates a chaotic sort of excitement, and can get almost anyone fired up and ready to rebel against whatever’s convenient at the moment.
History
The girls’ mother, Sibyl, possessed strong telekinetic powers; she passed them on to her twin daughters and, had she lived long enough, she might have taught them how to control these powers. Unfortunately, she died when Leah and Lulu were eight years old, leaving them with a grief-ridden father who drank too much and couldn’t hold a job. He tried to take care of the girls, but failed miserably. The family had no money and no assets, and their home burned to the ground one evening, while the girls were trying to cook for their ill, inebriated father.
After this incident, their father was deemed unfit to take care of Leah and Lulu. They were eleven years old when they were taken from him to be placed into foster care. Their new guardians were kind, and for about two years, life was reasonably good.
Then one day, as the family was returning from a walk in the local park, they were jumped by a group of muggers. Lulu stepped in front of her sister and their guardians, and shouted at the muggers to get lost, that she wasn’t afraid of them and that they weren’t going to get anything from her or her family. In her rage, she mentally threw a nearby bench at them, pinning two of them to the ground. However, the last mugger was less of a coward than she’d expected; he shot Lulu close to the heart””she’d seen no gun, and hadn’t realized the potential danger””and he took everything that the others had with them, then helped his companions to escape.
The monetary loss was not as great as the emotional one; Leah was convinced that her sister was dead before they even got to the hospital. And she was right, or nearly so. Lulu was in bad shape, and there was little that could be done for her. She was lucky, however… a miracle appeared, albeit in a slightly unexpected form.
That evening, three men and women made their way into her hospital room, and presented her with an offer that she couldn’t refuse. They, apparently, had been the muggers; the man who’d shot her was an extraordinarily powerful mutant. She’d been right””he’d had no gun. He was able to manipulate the molecules in the air to form “bullets,” which was why the doctors had been able to find no physical projectile in her wound. He’d seen her power, and was offering her a chance to learn to use it properly.
She agreed. One of the other two””a woman””used her power to heal Lulu, who followed them out of the hospital and into the street. Over the next few years, she remained with this small band. They were a fun group, and they taught her a lot, both about her powers and about survival. Still, she could not stay with them forever. There was little more that they could do for her, and she had become a little arrogant. She wanted power, and she wanted to learn things that her friends couldn’t teach her. And so recently, with the intention of either taking the place over or learning new things (or both), she enrolled in Xavier’s Academy for the upcoming term.
Leah, meanwhile, had been living life believing that her sister died in the hospital that night. She was unable to deal with the grief, and was transferred to another family. This was about the time when her visions began to happen more frequently. She lasted about two months at this foster home. (She told the mother that she’d had a vision, and that the father had died in a car accident. The mother panicked, called the father to be sure he was all right, and then became furious at Leah for telling “such wicked lies.” Leah was moved to another foster home. A few days later, the father was hit by a drunk driver on his way home from work. He died on impact.)
This seemed to set the trend; Leah could not stay at a home for longer than a few months at a time. People thought she was weird, or creepy””she made them uncomfortable, and the people she hated had an odd habit of falling down stairs after tripping over things that they could have sworn hadn’t been there a moment before.
At the age of fifteen, Leah was placed in a mental institution. She soon learned to keep her emotions bottled up, to avoid making a nuisance of herself, and was declared “cured” after nine months.
She struck gold with her next home. The couple was kind; the wife, Rena Locke, was a sweet woman who cooked well, and the husband, Riley Locke, was an old friend of Leah’s mother. He was slightly eccentric, and he often slipped and called her by her mother’s name, but he was a goodhearted man who wanted the best for the daughter of his childhood friend. Leah was placed in a private school and taken care of, and for the first time she found herself in a state of happiness she had not known since her mother’s death.
Riley was one of the few people who’d known about Leah’s mother’s abilities. He was not long in bringing up the subject, and believed Leah when she confessed to being able to see things happening in other places and times. To her great surprise, he informed her that he’d suspected as much, and had already looked into an unusual school for the unusually gifted. He left the option of enrolling entirely up to her.
She accepted. She has since spent one year at the school, where she found herself accepted as normal for the first time in years. Her life finally seems to be taking a turn for the better. Her second year at Xavier’s academy is about to begin, and she has high hopes for the future.
Sorry for the delay, but I did read this! It's quite excellent, and I think you did a great job with the "evil twin" thing. Even though you say the "evil twin" idea isn't unique, I thought you did a great job keeping things interesting and original.
Anyway, it's approved! (like it wasn't obvious)
