He can see all spirits, but the only ones he can interact with are animal and nature spirits. Although he is far less powerful than Aurelia, he does have one talent she does not- through his ability to empathize with animals and natural spirits he can understand both them and their living counterparts. Description: Aleron is impatient with an inferiority complex; it doesn't help that he’s short and skinny, too. He seems to be- and dresses like- a normal teenager, due to his years of American-run private school. He has almond-shaped eyes and lighter skin than Aurelia, but they have the same nose. He keeps his unruly hair back in a ponytail usually, because otherwise it becomes an afro. History: While Aurelia’s father was traveling in China on his spirit journey, he had a relationship with the mistress of an inn on the mountain where he trained. Months after he left, it was apparent that in fact, the lady of the inn was not just gaining some weight. Aleron was born that April. There was nothing remarkable about the birth- but what happened afterward was. The newborn’s cries echoed out over the valley, and animals from everywhere appeared, it seemed, to welcome him into the world. There was some trouble when a panda’s weight broke the back deck. Skip forward to the present, through years of private school and helping out at the inn. Aleron’s mother died, and going through her stuff, he found something important- his father’s address. He flew across the globe in the hopes that his father would still be alive. Finding that his father was dead as well was hard to take, even though Aleron had never met him. He brightened at the mention that his half-sister was alive and well, and took the very next flight to America to find her.
