Alias: Amp Age: 17 Occupation: Student at Xavier's School for the Gifted Alliance: Japanese crime syndicates, most notably the high Yakuza gangs, then the X-Men Phys. Description: Standing no taller than 5 feet 10½ inches, Takahashi has a slight but wiry build and often wears a black dress shirt (over a dark t-shirt) with the sleeves rolled to around his elbows. He also wears tan chinos, but because of the numerous gizmos he keeps on him at all times, he has various pouches strapped around his waist. His eyes are strikingly green, and glow constantly with the light of curiousity. However, a closer observation reveals not an innocent search for knowledge but a keen understanding and an almost cold and calculating shine. His light brown hair falls down to below his eye level. He constantly has to keep it out of his face, though he has recently tried using static to keep it away. He has a komodo dragon fang earring dangling from his left ear, a recent birthday present from his father. He is very careful about how far out his dress shirt moves, because under it he often keeps his pistol tucked into his pants. He wears a amber ring on his left thumb and a quartz ring on his right ringfinger, each used in conjunction with his powers: the quartz's natural frequency is useful for spying and communication and the amber's ability to hold static charge can surprise anyone with a painful handshake. Personality: Takahashi is very carefree, and extremely energetic. He spends most of his time leaping from one solid object to another. His most infamous exploit was when he raced to class jumping from one student's head to the next, and none of them even felt it. He was said to have a talent for acting, and became the accomplished spy when his parents needed it. He has the ability to change his face, his personality, and his demeanor without a second thought. That is only to the common observer, however. Inside, he's still the same energetic shirker who generally finds himself in some form of mischief or another. In America, he created the persona of someone who does hard work and enjoys it, so it would come as a real shock if his parents ever learned that he was actually doing his work without being forced to do it. History: Born to the Yakuza crime syndicate, he learned many dark talents at an early age. Before he was 9, he could assemble every semi and full automatic weapon known to Japan while blindfolded, and could shoot them accurately by the age of 12. By 15, he had done over 50 missions for his family, many of which involves infiltrating top secret organizations who were out to overthrow his father. Yet he was never discovered as the spy in any case. He was found to have an extreme aptitude in all physical sciences and in the realms of math. He had an extremely analytical mind and could break down complex equations in a heartbeat. He became and accomplished code breaker and programmer, and was an invaluable asset to his family trade. As the eldest son, he was taught everything he would need to know about how to run the organization, including judo and armed combat involving swords, knives, guns, and even the Chinese staff. He wasn't as adept, it turned out, at more abstract sciences such as music or art. The artistic powers were simply out of his reach, so he stayed grounded in the more tangible realms of code and logarithms. However, he was forced to run from the life he knew. Takahashi was relatively unaware of his mutant status until a simple assassination went awry. He had placed his target, a mid-level Chinese Mafia son, dead in the sights of his scope. However, just as he was about to pull the trigger, the barrel of his rifle suddenly collapsed in upon itself. Startled, Takahashi dropped the weapon and fell back from the window, drawing his handgun. A tall, thin Chinese man dropped down in front of him as he backed away. Taking aim, Takahashi began to unload. Each bullet, however, merely crumpled like paper just before hitting the man. Thoroughly shocked, especially as he watched his handgun become crushed into a small ball, Takahashi moved to hit his opponent. Whether his opponent was cocky or simply caught unaware, he made no move to block. Takahashi hit the strange man straight in the face, against the cheek. The blow itself was not that much to him, but the strange man was surprised by the force of the the shock that flowed from the fist. Falling back through a door, the man had a few convulsions and passed out on the floor. Takahashi immediately escaped, knowing his mission was a failure and that he couldn't be sure he could kill this...whatever it was. When he returned home to meet with his father, Takahashi was surprised that his father understood what had happened, even KNEW the man who attacked him. His father revealed that both himself and his mother were mutants, which likely meant an X-gene inheritance in their children. Understanding how this now singled him out and compromised his identity, as well as to avoid any possible connections to his father, Takahashi left the country and made his way to America. He was transferred directly to a school founded by one of his fathers old friends, a man named Charles Xavier, who didn't approve of the family trade but was willing to accept a fellow mutant. In his 3 years at the school, Takahashi has mastered some useful (and some darker) aspects of his power. Powers: Takahashi has control over all electrical and electromagnetic forces. He can use his own personal electromagnetic field as a permanent power source to shoot bolts of lightening from his body or even form objects made of electrostatic particles. He can also control the magnetization of objects, though this differs from Magneto, who's power truly is the ability to manipulate all metal. Any bullet shot at him can be diverted from it's course and any object made of metal can be moved with effort, but it's shape and composition can't be changed. For example, he could open a deadbolt simply by turning his hand. He also has used his power to wipe computers clean of data when they absolutely require it. |
