Alias: Rush? I don't really have a name yet... Age: 17 Occupation: Student at the Academy Alliance: X-Men Item(s): ~iPal. Newest doohickey from Apple. (I yoinked the idea from Questionable Content.) It has about everything a computer would have, it can connect to the internet almost anywhere, act as her phone, and it holds all of her music. It's voice activated and pretty much indestructible. Best part is that it's waterproof, that's a new feature. Mei calls him Goober and she never too far from him. In class he takes notes for her while the teacher is speaking and she is free to focus on what the teacher is saying. Powers: Mei can manipulate water in all its forms, whether it's a solid, liquid or vapor, and she can make it go from one form to another as she pleases by changing the temperature. She must be able to move in order to focus her power on the water's movement, and while she can make it go pretty much wherever she wants it to go, using her powers for an excessive amount of time will tire her out. She can also extract water from various sources, from underground springs to humidity in the air, and she can also take it from plants and animals. However, as she is still fairly new to her powers, she does not have the control or the strength to take the water from another complex living organism at will; that acts as more of a last resort, self-defense mechanism when her life is in mortal peril, rather than an offensive attack, and it leaves her utterly exhausted. With lots of training, she will eventually be able to rip water from anywhere or anything, and she will also discover that she is able to control plants and animals, including people, by manipulating the water in them. Description: Mei has purple hair. It's the first thing anyone ever notices. She has her own sense of style which usually involves a lot of colors, so she's never that hard to pick out in a crowd. She is full Chinese, and she is fluent in Mandarin, English and French. Her father lives in Canada and oversees his business internationally, while her mother lives in China pretty much all year round and takes care of business there as well as overseeing the three different schools that they founded. Towering at a whopping five feet (barely), Mei is rather short by American standards and she is tiny and rather delicate looking, but she can pack away a ton of food and she loves to snack. Mei goes with the flow of life. She isn't one to follow the crowd and do what everybody else is doing, but she does tend to take the path of least resistance. She usually meanders along her way, taking her time to take in everything around her. However, she is rather finicky, and just as apt to sudden mood swings like storms are apt to pop up on a perfectly calm sea. Despite her moodiness, she is very good about going forward and pushing on and Mei never holds a grudge. Mei is very much a Renaissance girl, she enjoys studying and she's well read in a vast number of topics from science to philosophy to the arts to languages, and she is fairly competitive in Kung Fu, ping pong, and badminton. She is a very good student and a hard worker, which her teachers appreciate, and she also loves to dance and swim. The poor girl can't cook to save her life, bless her heart, which is why she usually lives off of instant ramen, cup noodles, macaroni and cheese and other foods that she just has to add water to when she's on her own. Though she seems to get long fine with her teachers and other adults, Mei has always had the hardest time making friends her own age, especially girls. She simply isn't quite sure how to interact with them, and as she is rather open about what she thinks about everyone and everything and is often seen as very critical by her peers. She knows this, and she blames her father and his boorish manners, but she isn't quite sure how to stop. As such, she is used to being alone, though she doesn't necessarily like it. She hopes that she will someday be able to control her compulsions and make a friend. History: Meifang lived a very privileged life. Both her parents ran a large international incorporation together, and they were pretty tight with the Communist party, though they were not members. When she was young she went to only the best preschools, kindergartens, elementary and middle schools China had to offer. During the long vacations, she would visit her father in Canada. Then she went to high school in Canada at the best school money could buy, and spent her summer back in China where her mother hired tutors to help her study her Chinese and Chinese classics. She grew up happy, despite her unpopularity, and her wit grew sharp, which did not help in the friend department. Mei learned to be focused and very disciplined, but she still knew how to have fun and enjoy life. Her life was about as normal as any other girl's would be with wealthy parents. She loved China and she also grew to love all the places she went to. During her sophomore year, her father had been doing business with some rather unscrupulous characters and somewhere along the way, the deal went sour. One rainy weekend, Mei was on her way to visit her father for for the weekend when the limo was hijacked, the driver shot dead. Of course, she was terrified for her life and she freaked out. The rain turned into hail, and it continued to grow in size and fall faster until it broke though the windshield and beat the hijacker to death. Mei didn't remember after this as she blacked out, and was found unconscious in the back seat. No one really knew what caused the weather to turn so violent so suddenly, and it was dismissed as a freak accident. However, her father didn't want her to travel to come see him much after that, afraid of another attempt. While she was at visiting him for winter break, the mafia did come to the house and managed to take them both hostage. They were more than willing to hurt Mei to get what they wanted. She was scared, but there was so much going on that nobody noticed the water boiling away or freezing in the glasses and flower vases. When her father still refused to cooperate, they started beating Mei in front of him. The pain was the last straw, and her eyes glowed bright blue and one man started howling as he began developing blisters and he started vomiting boiling hot bile and blood until he finally died, while another simply froze. She started snatching what water was left and flinging ice spikes into those who were on the other side of the room. When someone managed to grab her by her shoulders, her hands planted on the cretin's face and she pulled away, ripping the water from his body leaving a shriveled dried up corpse. She promptly fainted into a puddle of water leaving her father trembling in the corner, unharmed but incredibly disturbed. Once the mess was cleaned up, he confined her to her room, and he set to work trying to find away to help her and cure her of whatever freakiness that infected his only child. Help found him, or rather Professor Xavier found them and informed them about the school and she was enrolled at once. Other: As she is rather socially inept, she has her own room. It's roomy and she rather likes the view. It has a bed, a wardrobe , a desk and a chair, a large closet, a dresser and she gets her own bathroom. She keep it pretty neat except her desk is rather unorganized and her bed is almost never made, ever. She has remained at the school, and she keeps in touch with her parents, but they never really talk about her powers or having her come visit and she never brings it up. She is happy where she is and when she's not studying, dancing or whooping some kid in pingpong, she's training and working to control her powers. She likes to visit Jean and make fun of his Chinese or discuss literature and she also really likes Chavi's classes as she is finding biology and biochemistry more and more interesting as she goes along. This semester she is taking Japanese and she is very eager to learn. When I think of more, I will put it here. |
