Age: 26 Occupation: Her Majesty’s Royal Navy Alliance: Lieutenant (?) in Her Majesty’s Royal Navy Items: Rapier, Pistol Description: Everyone always says that Charles takes after his elder brother, Fitzwilliam, in nearly every way. From his neat, dark hair to his cool, gray eyes, he is immediately recognizable as Fitzwilliam’s brother. Charles has even, on occasion, been mistaken for his brother. Yet, aside from these clear, visible similarities, he and his brother are fundamentally very different people. Where Fitzwilliam is frigidly logical and often impersonal, keeping emotions tightly controlled as he makes well-reasoned and effective decisions at lightning tempo, Charles takes time and thinks through possibilities, weighing each outcome for merit and weakness. While Fitzwilliam can control a room by the sheer force of his presence, Charles is more timid. Though Fitzwilliam can use his powerful presence to issue commands with immediate response, Charles can only command through earned respect and trust. Of course, Charles is just as intelligent as his brother, yet his greatest flaw is in his lack of a powerful persona. As many younger siblings do, Charles tries hard to mimic his elder brother. His poise and the way he holds himself do him credit, and he is quite good at keeping a straight face. He has even begun to assess situations quickly and to ascertain a solution with the same immediacy that his brother could wield. Still, this does not come as easily to him; any quick decisions he makes are ones which he has already deliberated over, and doesn’t need to rethink. Furthermore, he is far from having a mastery of his emotions – he is startled and embarrassed easily, and has a good sense of humor and a winning smile. History: Charles is the second son and third child born to the wealthy Radley family of London. While put through the same rigorous education that his elder brother, Fitzwilliam, was forced through, the amount of pressure was almost non-existent in comparison. Though he did well, he could not meet the standards set by his brother, and that his parents were not particularly disappointed in this only served to confuse him. Yet, despite his lack of parental support, Charles chose to continue to strive to surpass his brother. While in some areas he came close, he was hopelessly lost in others – while he could hold his own in a sword duel, for example, he looked like a total amateur when placed next to his brother, in a very literal sense. Charles followed his brother into the Royal Navy, eventually graduating second in his class and earning a commission as a Junior Grade Lieutenant. When Fitzwilliam left the Navy, the two brothers maintained a secret correspondence, with Fitzwilliam thinking he had an insider connection with his enemy, and Charles thinking he had a way to finally show himself better than his brother once and for all. OOC: It's short, but the important history is in Frost's bio. Also, it's semi-late, and I wanted to get this up as soon as I could. I'm not entirely sure that I described his character well enough, but he should flesh out through RP....

He's a pretty cool guy! With all the extreme personalities, it's nice to have someone normal and centered, if a bit withdrawn xD;;;
Lieutenant seems like a fine rank for him, considering his age, etc. As for which ship he's on, I dunno, do eenie-meenie-miney-mo? Chris and I both have no one for our Admiral characters to talk to/interact with right now. And I suppose it doesn't really matter which you pick, as soon enough they're going to be one big dysfunctional family! x) |
